My FAVORITE CHINESE Historical Dramas!

Slice of Life and currently my favorite historical drama of all time. #HEA I've watched this all the way through several times and still find new reasons to love it each time! 

GREAT FL, ML, Revenge, Chemistry, etc! LOVE it.

loved this so much except didn't love the last few episodes as much as I would have liked to.

Classic!  If you love great FLs., political intrigue, harem shenanigans and so on... this one is for you. My only gripe is the last 2-4 episodes. I skip them every time and feel like they could have been entirely left off and the drama wrapped up just before the unnecessary "time skip" ?

VERY good drama!!

1930s. Spies. Not my usual thing and not much romance at ALL, which is usually a turn-off for me, but this show breaks all my rules and I LOVE IT SO MUCH. I've rewatched this one several times already and I still keep coming back. 

really love this one. Some of the ending parts make me a bit salty, but I still love it. I lurve NiNi though, so...

fabulous chemistry and so well done. I've rewatched this one twice now.

This is one of the most kick ass historical dramas I've ever seen with one of the best written FL's ever. That one revenge episode alone was worth watching this entire drama. She was BADASS! However... I didn't love the turn it took in the end and HATE that it ended on the biggest cliffhanger of all cliffhangers with no new season in sight.

I... umm ... rewatch this one a LOT. I have no idea why. I can't look away from this drama for some weird reason.

one of the ONLY romcoms you'll see on my FAV historicals list. This one is SOOOO worthy of a watch & 10 stars! ^_^

Not my usual style but it's so beautifully done, I can't help but love it. Romance is nearly nonexistent.

This one. Makes the list but you must be warned... the muther effin drama... it is HARD to get past all the angst, the FL being treated SO bad for 99% of the drama and the ML's friggin crying... but I still liked it? Something's wrong with me. Legit.

this one I enjoyed even though I sort of dislike the "FL can't feel/etc because she's been cursed/sealed/whatever" plot device where she runs around making naive mistakes as a result. Like in "Ashes of Love". 

looooove this one. amazing story, acting, and even though the ending is a little "meh" for me... I still consider this one at the top of my "re-watchable" list!!!

Wonderful drama. Just don't put your hopes in a happy (romantic) ending. Good ending. Just not great for the "romance". :)

A classic. Lots of amazing actors & actresses who play their parts SO very well. While this could have been about 20 episodes shorter, I don't think I'd actually call this drama "drawn out" at all. Never ever was I bored or wanted to skip scenes. EPIC storytelling. Worth the watch.

iQIYI subs on the first few episodes are sooooo bad. (BUT got a bit better in later episodes!) Just assume all the names are translated weird and you can do some guessing once the show gets going. It's not too bad after 12 or so episodes. Either that or I just got use to it. lol. I actually REALLY liked this drama. I wish it had better sub titles somewhere. It's a hidden gem for SURE.

avoided watching this slowly unfolding tragedy for a loooong time because I had an inkling of what I'd be getting into. I was right to put it off. This drama is a tragedy and filled with very very few "light" moments, if really, ANY. BUT this drama is a masterpiece & a must watch. 

Adorable + fabulous chemistry between characters. Be SURE to watch the "special" ending if you need your HEA though....  SPECIAL ENDING

absolutely LOVED this Xianxia!

cute and fluffy. FL is great. ML is okay. Everyone loves the 2ML but I found him unbearable, tbh. ^_^ Lots of "real" kisses after about ep 25? But take note that the "romance" doesn't even really begin until 21+ episodes in on this drama. 

I watched this because I'm a HUGE fan of the FL.. and the drama is good!!

Not going to lie... I love the last 30% of this drama more than the first 70%!!! I like it once everything goes to shit! 

I really enjoyed this.. beautiful people, costumes, and decent storyline... but tbh I was kind of "over it" by episode 30. Definitely too drawn out and last 10 episodes lost focus on the leads, romance, etc... the story became singularly focused and didn't blend revenge, drama, romance, etc all together like it had in the earlier episodes.
