18 Again - Heart-Warming Drama!
I loved 18 Again! It was a bit heartbreaking at first but soon changed to be a major heart-warming drama for me. It had also some sad, yet cute/funny moments; which I absolutely enjoyed. All in all, it was a great ride, with brilliant actors and amazing chemistry (especially with the presence of a huge age gap)! I think you will not regret watching this. I cried at some points when the main character got to the point of not being able to go back to normal. I'm personally a fan of age gap dramas since there's more tension going on between families and characters but I was delighted to see scenes that had chemistry in them yet kept their boundaries because of the age gap (though they've kissed multiple times rip). Again, you should really watch this drama! It was fun and emotional to watch. :)Cet avis était-il utile?

I just want to ask the writer that if you are making thriller why not end it means why would we watch thrillers so that we can find conclusion of every happenings i was all satisfied with the story the cast and Lee seung gi is the main reason i started this drama because he is perfect with scrip selection but this is the first lee seung gi drama i was disappointed he was perfect in his role the story was good but i have just wasted my 16 hours and got no results and there is no second season????So if someone want to watch this drama i will recommend you if you are fan of the cast and don't mind open endings

So I read some review certainly far more critical than this one will be, and I think I'm probably far too generous with this particular show (which, in hindsight, makes me want to go back to others I rated and demolish them). While I particulary enjoyed the simplicity of the storyline, notably the absence of what I call the "side character one-sided lover/bitch" and the lack of "no, don't be gay, don't ruin your life for me"-pity arc, there was also severals problems.
First : some characters were introduced, obviously with some kind of story in mind, and just disappeared. I'm thinking of Alex, who obviously would have been a "one-sided lover/bitch" with a stalker potential... but wasn't and was never mentionned for several episods. His character have essentially no purpose, no raison d'être so... why ? (I mean, if it was to show that Pharm is a soft character who needs protection from the more "hard" Dean... well, it was already implied and unneeded by the fact that he suffers from several phobia).
Second : side characters like Team and Manaow, while more present in the storyline, don't get there story except at some point (I was quite shocked when Team goes to Win's place because of his insomnia like it's a common occurence... even thought I missed an episode). So, either don't mention it at all or give them a consistent storyline with enough appearances to back it up.
Third : it's probably a mix of cultural differences and what I feel are bad choices from the director but... everyone accept far too easily that Pharm and Dean are the reincarnation of Intouch and Korn . (I.E Pharm 's granpa/Korn's dad who immediately know where Pharm went without ever meeting him and knowing absolutely nothing about him and his history)
I won't go in too much detail about the screenwriting, cuz I didn't take notes while watching each episode and wasn't focus on that (also, it's been a while since I took film analysis in Uni). What I can say about it, because it jumped to my face... too much staring/kissing scenes who take too much times. We get it : they love each other, the emotions are intense... no need to ruin that by making us watch them feeling those for three to five minutes and bore us too death.
To be brief : quite good overall, in terms of story and acting, some problems wih the director's choices.
I probably won't rewatch it, not because I don't think it's bad, just because I won't feel the need. I will remember it as a good drama, and in the BL genra certainly as one of the best. You can say all you want about TharnType or Lovesick, which apparently are held to be la crème de la crème of BL by some, they're not that good and certainly not as much as UWMA. (Which says a lot about what standards scriptwriters and directors have to respect)

For the amount of script, and time this drama had to convey its message, it's a complete 10/10. They nailed every aspect of this, and made this such a beautiful little gem!!
Even if the concept was a standard cliche South Korean chaebol drama, the added element of it being gay is the cherry on top. If you're expecting a story that breaks new ground, ask yourselves if KBS, SBS, JBTC are STILL giving you the chaebol cliche dramas??? Then thank your lucky stars that, in a nation that STILL stigmatizes this topic, the producers put this out for you. Let's break the ground first and worry about full length trailblazing screenwriting later!
Baby steps... and, again, for what this drama had to work with, this was fantastic. Best part is that, unlike other newbie LGBTQ actors in dramas, these two newbies have some serious acting chops, and not one time did I feel cringed out by them.
Thank you to the producers for finding this talent and giving us this treat!

The title makes sense
Finish this last year and honestly, it doesn't give me much impact sadly.I've been looking forward to this drama ever since it the Pilot video came out. It's just my preference but I've always like plot where it's working characters instead of students. Just as the story is called "Step by Step", it makes sense why this story is quite a slow burn. So, for those who dislike that, this story is not for you!
Sadly, I would say the story went kinda downhill after later episodes. Mostly because of Pat. There was one review I read which I agreed on that said "Pat need to stop thinking everything revolves around him". Honestly, their "Conflict" part kind of pisses me of, aka Pat being so difficult. I honestly don't understand what's the deal with him and his reasoning is a little ???
He really does think everything is about him, which makes me feel bad about Jeng. He was trying his best to show sincerity and how he feels but ugh, Pat just pisses me off tbh. It took me awhile to finish the story - almost wanting to drop it - but manage to end it. Jeng came through at the end, and honestly, I stayed because of him. Ending was so so

Power corrupts, but does it have to corrupt one's soul, too?
I wholeheartedly believe there is some truth in every fictional story. Blood Free is no exception, especially in the way it depicts how the 1% delusional wealthy believe themselves to be superior to everybody else and think, not just accept but demand that the laws of man and land not apply to them in any way, shape, or form. They deserve not only elitism, amorality, but immortality just because they are wealthy boggles the mind. It makes me wonder. I know power corrupts, but does it have to corrupt one's soul, too? How can a parent such as Seon Woo Jae's ( I love me some Lee Hee Joon) mother, who loves her child so much, have such disregard for someone else's child; what makes them think only their child is precious? I will never understand. That said, what a brilliantly made drama!Watching a fantastic show on TV or a great movie in the theatre sometimes leaves us thinking about what made that so great and why it moved us or made us nervous. I have come to understand that a TV show or movie can only become influential when all the key elements such as plot, character, thought, diction, spectacle, musical score, mystery, action, directing, and acting are done correctly -- all of which were intelligently weaved in Blood-free to make it beyond excellent, superb in fact. I think Blood Free is undoubtedly one of the best K-dramas Disney+ has ever produced, right there with A Shop for Killers, if not the best. Kudos to all, especially Han Hyo Joo. She was outstanding, and so was Ju Ji Hoon and everybody else. When I started this drama I thought Yoon Ja Yoo the most impactful character but by the end of it On San (Lee Moo Saeng) left an even bigger mark. The mere fact that this was only 10 episodes, made me believe there would be a second season to it. I await it, patiently.

"Meteor Garden 2018" is an engaging and captivating drama that took me on a rollercoaster of emotions from start to finish. I was pleasantly surprised by how well this remake of the classic Taiwanese drama stayed true to the essence of the original story while bringing fresh and modern elements to the table. The storyline revolves around a group of elite college students and an ordinary girl, Shan Cai, who is entangled with the four handsome and wealthy members of the F4. The character development in this drama is outstanding, and I found myself growing attached to each member of the cast. Shen Yue, who played Shan Cai, delivered a strong and convincing performance as the feisty yet compassionate heroine. The chemistry between her and the F4 members was palpable, adding depth to the romantic subplots.
The drama's pacing was well-done, with each episode leaving me eager for more. It's filled with humor, heartwarming moments, and intense conflicts, all of which kept me hooked. The love triangles, rivalries, and friendships are beautifully woven throughout the narrative, making the characters' personal growth and relationships feel incredibly real.
One of the standout features of "Meteor Garden 2018" is the stunning cinematography. The luxurious settings, fashion, and even the subtleties of facial expressions added to the overall appeal of the series. The OST (Original Soundtrack) perfectly complements the mood and adds depth to the emotional scenes.
Though the drama occasionally borders on melodramatic, it never loses its charm. It successfully highlights themes of love, family, friendship, and societal pressures. I could relate to the character's struggles and triumphs in their personal lives and academic pursuits.
"Meteor Garden 2018" is a delightful drama that brings the timeless story to a new generation. It blends nostalgia with a fresh perspective, making it a must-watch for fans of the genre. With its compelling characters, beautiful visuals, and a well-balanced mix of drama, romance, and comedy, this series left me eagerly awaiting each new episode. If you're a fan of heartwarming, coming-of-age stories with a touch of romance, this is a drama you won't want to miss.

the main girl is annoying
i literally only watched one episode and i’m already done… the main lead is kind of annoying, due to the fact her whole personality is “kawaiii” and i thought it was weird that she thought she was better than everyone bc she was a virgin when she was 19/20 but now at 26 she’s having a quarter life crisis…it’s not bad but it’s not that good either. nothing really pulls you in to continue watching unless you like slow build… but something tells me this is going to be reaaaaaaally slow…
i might come back to this if i’m bored and have nothing else to watch

Tell them, tell 'em, tell them the truth
And we are here. That was a pretty good show. Good job. 9.125 out of 10, so round down to 9 out of 10. This was actually really good, like in hindsight, there are a few things wrong with it, but it is actually pretty good. And this is my breakdown of it lol.I finished this show in 19 hours, go me. I would have finished it in 8 hours, but I was lazy and waited. We meet Wan everyone's favorite food blogger. I like most people watching this, am here from Pit Babe because it's the same people just focused on a different couple, which was nice. There was a lot of second embarrassment lol. I really liked the actor's dynamic and this really carried over in this, but they were flipped. Instead of the nonchalant and mean younger one, this time chef was the nonchalant mean one. Good to see and I think that did that really well. Chef X Blogger was the vibes and a lot of the soundtrack, besides the intro, was fucking bumping. It was so good. Interesting trope broke bitch x chef. They showed Los Angeles and I was in denial for the rest of the show, because it didn't look like it lol. The cooking competition was a really good idea and it was not at all how I thought the show was going. JJ, who played Kenta in Pit Babe looks so cute when he is normal and not a figurehead. JJ and Wan were a cute dynamic because it showed how JJ has soft spots for stupid bitches. His trying to beat up a billionaire is crazy. The fits in this were fire, shout out whoever was on outfits. JJ is Wan and everyone in this show's biggest hater. Wan was also so baddie core.
I made my predictions about Wan winning the competition and of course, I was right. I was calling Wan a biggie. I also said that Kluer was going to be evil, but I guess I was right. But not really. The only thing was that the selling restaurant thing just didn't add up and if I was with Wan and I had bills to pay so I don't go homeless I would also lie. Brokie things I guess. The whole basil-smelling thing was actually really funny. Auto's body was making me wanna act UP. Me when me when me me when. Me when sexy man body, me when. Chef right off the bat violating Wan, and I really like the pacing of this, because I think it was pretty good. One thing, I feel like they could have developed their relationship more, it felt very jumpy and I am just like a little more development I beg.
Not even going to lie I am obsessed with their dynamic of clumsy and aggressive but still care. Chef's rizz was so bad, I can't. I actually fucking hate restaurants like that, that have set menus and you can't order anything but that. I talked about JJ's job and his anger issues. They used the same clips a lot lol. Metas has no one to take care of him? Oh no, something to make JJ's heartless ass feel bad lol. JJ is such an empath I can't. Wan is obsessed with basil because of his mom, that's actually really sweet. And once again I feel like they could have developed their crushes a little more because it feels a little rushed.
Wan ate too much stir fry and his modeling career was ruined lol. Chef's memories of his ex changing into Wan were very cute. I felt like I was actually watching a cooking show lol. Metas and JJ have the same personality with the whole asshole empath, that is why they clash. The soundtrack was fucking bumping. JJ has no game at all lol.
Irl and in character, JJ and Metas have a lot of tension and I think that's why their couple was so good. I kept saying "The longer you wait wan the more it is gonna hurt." And then Wan tried to use JJ as leverage which he ended up doing lol. Great NC scene. This just explains itself lol. "44:40 Why is wan slim thick? He got no ass but looks like an hourglass. BIG BOOTY ALL IN MY FACE. I can't even focus on the plot anymore lol. He sees him as his father bro that's even sadder. I am gonna be so honest I don't even know what happened at the end because of that big booty. Why is wan slim thick bro? Ten out of ten because of his ass lol. Does that make me shallow or a horny teenage boy? Both." Um yeah, so that happened and that's why the review is higher than it should be lol.
Once again "The longer you wait the more it is gonna hurt." and the show was making "me so fucking hungry." It still is as I am editing this review lol. Money can buy you everything but love. That's something that opened my eyes a lot actually during this. Metas talks about how he only does financial investments and doesn't waste his money, but in the end moved heaven and hell for his man, who he didn't even know was going to be his man. Also, Chef when his actions actually have consequences and he can't just rebound back to him when he wants him again. He should have made it clear he didn't want Kao Suay from the start, but no. And Kluer with kissing a sleeping and drunk person.
So why are you trying to kiss him if he's drinking too much? Haven't we learned anything? Be fucking for real. I was asking how long they were going to be happy for. I was lowkey praying that their downfall happened sooner because I could not take this impending doom. Not even joking, didn't know that Metas was courting him. Good for JJ, doing anything for his friend. That's such a jit move. My sister thinks Metas is very hot. "He's got that freaky look." Uh, I was with Wan through and through because he had no actual mal intent, he just couldn't afford his rent, like how is it his fault that he is broke?
Pretty good ending to a good show. I will miss them lowkey. This show was ruining my mental health earlier at school today lol, it was not good. I did not think he was going to win the competition at all. Wan was so willing to drop everything and risk being homeless to prove his love. Quote of the day by me: "Kill yourself Wan and then make it so he will feel bad." And then I was blaming Metas for everything. "Metas literally caused every single problem in this show, with his wealth. Being alone isn't fun." "Metas redemption we love to see it. Good on him for apologizing. I am gonna be so honest I did not think he was going to come around and this is the ending I wanted, them getting freaky. HE PROPOSED NO FUCKING WAY. That waiting for him was such a slow blow I can't lol" That was a good ending and it was what I was expecting so I am happy. Uh, and that's it. I recommend it lol. Okay bye!
