My Favourite K-Dramas

I first heard about Korean Dramas back when I was in undergrad around the year 2013. As an avid cinephile who prided himself on watching international cinema, I have never watched K-dramas. Even when I was interested in watching K-dramas like Descendants of the Sun or ones with gay characters like Boys Over Flowers, I never did watch them. Why? Probably due to accessibility issues. I wanted to watch K-dramas but not enough to actively seek them out whereas there was a ton of other films and TV shows that I wanted to watch which were easily accessible. It was only in March 2020 during my spring break from school that I decided to check out the highly-acclaimed Netflix Original Crash Landing On You, which I have been wanting to watch ever since I heard so much buzz about it on social media and I fell in love! I've never cried so much watching a show ever! Itaewon Class, which I watched soon after finishing CLOY, which was also highly-buzzed on social media, was good but nowhere near the level of CLOY. However, It's Okay to Not Be Okay is extremely good so far and I have fallen in love with the genre once again...

On a side note, how awesome would it be if Netflix commissioned a big-budget K-drama BL? K-dramas are HUGE at the moment. BL series are also HUGE at the moment! If you combine the two, like with 'Where Your Eyes Linger,' the resulting product will no doubt be HUGE!
