God, the way this woman looks at him, all smug and cocky and he loves it. A more nuanced approach to a dominant woman and I'm THRIVING. She also protects him and they slay together? 100/10

• Kurashita Tsukimi x Koibuchi Kuranosuke

Another fem x fem dynamic I love. Honestly, this is one of those ships that are perfect for each other. Like he's bold, confident and outgoing, she's introverted, shy and awkward. Opposites aren't often my fav type of dynamic but they're like two pieces of a puzzle. They help each other grow and heal and thrive and no one dominates the other, there's RESPECT 10/10

• Ji Yunhe x Chang Yi (Main CP) (beginning)

The main CP was GODTIER in the beginning. She was unlike any FL I'd seen before and he was perfectly innocent and cute. Their love was never an easy one so lots of angst but they cared so much for each other and aaaaa-

These two become more prominent in pt.2. but something about them was just so hilarious- She's kind of a perv and super forward and he's surprisingly shy and reserved

• Gu Rong x Shen Mengchui x Li Xiao (semi headcanon, they're not supposed to be a throuple but they basically are and fit best that way)

I mean, need I say more? The two FLs are already best friends and ML is just the cherry on top (it's left kinda vague if SFL does have romantic feelings for him but I think it's implied that yes). Genuinely, they would be SUCH a power throuple. Two protective FLs and ML the adorable glue between them

CRIMINAL that these two don't get together. Emotional babygirl teacher ML x cold and aloof deadbeat detective FL? NAME A BETTER PAIRING, I'LL FUCKING WAIT. I mean, there's some romantic subtext which is good enough for me (she's also so tall and he's not <33)

This couple really makes me wonder who was the beast needing taming, 'cause in a way they both tamed each other. ML is fairly insufferable early on but he definitely comes around and becomes a devoted and loving malewife. FL is one of the coolest out there, nuff said

• Shi Qi x Xiao Hansheng (Main CP)

Didn't think I'd like this coupling as much I ended up liking them. The communication, devotion and affection between them was 10/10. They just worked so well together

Just so cute. Like two people that found such comfort with one another and fit so perfectly is so endearing to see.

Tsundere ML done right and FL is SUPER down bad. A dynamic which surprisingly works super well for them. She's constantly pursuing him and he's all flustered and 'indifferent', aww.

Cold FL x warm ML. I know he's the emperor but she calls the shots. She's so strong and refined while he's so gentle and caring, they make such a good pairing, like omggg. He's the most babygirl malewife of all.

Also didn't think I'd like the supporting CP as much as I did but they were soooo good. A force-to-be-reckoned-with of a man x a woman of equal skill but nobody knows. God

Honestly such a peak dynamic. I'm not even that far into the drama and I love it. ML is SOO babygirl, which is crazy cuz he's supposedly a middle-aged man and FL is soooo unbothered and badass and she's also basically his protector, benefactor AND sugar mommy- 100/10

Established married couple since the beginning and their dynamic is 10/10. They don't have much screen time but they're such a power couple and you can tell they trust each other wholeheartedly. Their love is so deep yet domestic and comfy, I need so much more of this

• Yoon Haw-Pyung (ML)  x Kang Gil-Young (FL) x Choi Yoon (SML) (Headcanon ship)

When SML and FL weren't being judgy their dynamics were giiiiving. I could totally see them all being a throuple or at the very least Haw-Pyung dating both (yes I acknowledge that one is a priest and that's taboo but he's fictional)

• Ryu Sung-joon (ML) x Jo Eun-ki (FL) (Headcanon ship)

They don't share a whole lot of moments but those that they do share are so tender. The whoel gentle dom thing FL has going on and the way ML reacts to her is quite unlike anything I've seen before. Also how they fully trust each other despite being strangers- like, that's the good shit
