Watched/Completed in 2020
This is for me to keep track of what shows I watch in 2020 for challenges and stuff.
Other dramas:
Giri/Haji - 6.5/10
Haunting of Bly Manor - 7/10
Dash and Lily - 9/10
-
1. One Fine Week
Korean Drama - 2019, 10 episodes
The whole identical strangers swap thing is so my type of plot. Plus, this was pretty good for webdrama standards. It hit the spot.
-
2. The Assassin
Taiwanese Movie - 2015
Okay, I see why this is such a critically acclaimed film. The cinematography is absolutely gorgeous and the whole movie has this whole old school cinematography style to it. The action scenes, though very limited, were very believable. The cast was also amazing. I also see why it has such a low score. It would not be popular among the general masses. It is VERY slow paced, has little dialogue, and a very straight forward plot. I had to go back and read the synopsis to see if I understood the movie correctly.
-
3. Let's Get Married
Chinese Movie - 2015
It was alright. I liked some couples better than others.
-
4. Korean Fried Chicken
Korean Movie - 2019
It's not AS funny as most people are hyping it up to be, but it still is guaranteed to make you laugh out loud at least once. Great cast. +0.5 for that boss ending.
-
5. Parasite
Korean Movie - 2019
Award winning movie? ✔︎ Congrats on the Golden Globe.
I held off on this movie for the 2020 watch challenge. :P Tentative rating for now. I need to mull things over and possibly rewatch it (there's a lot of symbolism so I want to see if there were things I missed). -
6. Standing in the Time
Chinese Drama - 2019, 38 episodes
This was the remake of Jimi ni Sugo! Koetsu Garu Kono Etsuko, which was such a positive and inspiring jdrama. This drama was an okay remake, but it just seemed tainted with negativity. The writers extended the plot and added a lot of typical cdrama b.s. to do so. The characters were immature, obnoxious, annoyingly selfish, and extremely unprofessional. All of the negative traits of the original characters were amped 3x.
There are probably only 3 characters I liked about the same or better than the original: the editor, the director of the proofreading department, and the restaurant owner. Correct me if I'm wrong, there was a supporting gay character in the original and they replaced him with this young annoying brat who pretty much slept and played games on his phone all day.
There was just so much super unprofessional behavior you could get fired over and yet, the characters would get away with it again and again. It was ridiculous. It seemed like the message of the show got lost. The drama went from something about publishing/proofreading and unknown important jobs to that of the whole fashion world and mostly modeling. The direction of the show changed and they focused less on the FL and focused more on the ML. And don't get me wrong the FL was annoying, but I think the actress did a great job portraying her character. As annoying as the FL was, the ML was much worse in my opinion.
As I was watching I tried to figure out what I would rate this had I not seen the original...the first half I probably would've gave it a 7, but the second half really dragged so it would probably be a 6 overall. I rated the original a 7.5 and it was way better than this remake.
-
7. All-Boys High
Korean Drama - 2019, 10 episodes
Quick and fun watch. It made my Laugh Out Loud Funny list.
-
8. Khing Kor Rar Khar Kor Rang
Thai Drama - 2019, 34 episodes
And the worst male lead of 2019 goes to...this guy. So here's the thing. I get that this is a remake of a slap/kiss lakorn and I get that it will have controversial elements, but for a remake made after 10 years from the last one, I would expect the standard or quality to improve. NOPE, it did not. The acting was subpar and the music and sounds did not suit the scenes in the drama at all.
So I had had probably watched about 3/4th of this drama and then put it on hold due to video/server issues. I had rated it a 4 at the time. Then, I came back to finish the last quarter of the drama (which was TERRIBLE) and wondered why I had even rated it a 4. It's because of the female lead. She was feisty and literally fought back. The ML's parents were awesome too. So yeah, that's why I didn't rate this like a 1 or 2. xD -
9. Psychopath Diary
Korean Drama - 2019, 16 episodes
Forget the other genres, this was a straight up comedy that was an homage to crime/thriller fans. This drama doesn't take itself seriously, so you shouldn't either. Although it's about a serial killer, it's not meant to be scary. Yes, at one point it does start to slow down and get mediocre, but I binge watched this drama so I barely noticed it.
-
10. Runaway - Aisuru Kimi no Tame ni
Japanese Drama - 2011, 9 episodes
I think I would've liked this a lot better had I seen it in 2011. It sort of halfway withstood the test of time. It has a really great cast though. :D
-
11. The Legend of the Demon Cat
Chinese Movie - 2017
What an adorable, evil kitty. ฅ^•ﻌ•^ฅ
I liked the cinematography for this one. -
12. The Blood of Wolves
Japanese Movie - 2018
I watched this cuz it was mentioned in an MDL article (42nd Japanese Academy Awards). It was nominated for a lot of stuff, so I was curious.
Yeah, this was so not my type of movie. Plus, it was way too gross/bloody for my liking (literally from the first scene). Not that I can't handle it, but the plot didn't pull me in either for me to want to stick around. -
13. Until I Meet September's Love
Japanese Movie - 2019
Light and sweet movie. It did remind me of Meet me @ 1006 a bit.
-
14. The Lies Within
Korean Drama - 2019, 16 episodes
As people are saying, it's a bit predictable, but I still really loved it. I don't really know how to describe this drama other than to say it's such a mood. Like, you're out for a drive, you may know the final destination or you may not, but you've got the windows down and are enjoying the breeze along to some good music. That kind of feeling (odd for this genre, I know).
For a crime/thriller, it's a bit more on the simpler side where they narrow down the truth one hint or revelation at a time. You do not have to overthink. That's not to say it doesn't have any plot twists because it does. I thought it was really well put together. Great acting, great music, and great direction. It was one of the few dramas that I hardly fast forwarded through, especially for the first 8 episodes. It's one of those dramas where you sit back, relax, put your brain on autopilot, and press play. -
15. Bento Harassment
Japanese Movie - 2019
Cute and wholesome watch.
-
16. ThirTEEN Terrors
Thai Drama - 2014, 13 episodes
Not sure how to rate this since it's an anthology. Some episodes I liked better than others.
-
17. Chocolate
Korean Drama - 2019, 16 episodes
Solid good drama. It could even be pushed to an 8, but there were a few things that bothered me like the unprofessional hospital administration drama (typical in every medical drama, I know, but it bothers me every time). That and the ML's lack of safety precautions when it comes to driving lol (despite being in a major car accident). I also noticed a few loose ends.
The pros: Awesome food and heartwarming, tear jerking stories. Expect tears to stream down your face. It's a slow burn romance similar to that of Encounter or Just Between Lovers. Not my thing, but not bad. -
18. You Are My Sunshine
Chinese Movie - 2015
Now I want to rewatch My Sunshine....or maybe read the novel.
-
19. 9.9 Billion Women
Korean Drama - 2019, 32 episodes
At first I didn't like it. There was just a lot of depressing stuff and it was really nerve wracking. However, the story got better and better with each episode and I loved how things played out, especially in the second half. The ending was slightly underwhelming, but fairly decent. I mainly loved how this drama managed to throw me off multiple times. Yes, it's a bit unrealistic, but I loved it for its unpredictability. This is an absolute binge worthy drama. It was an intense ride.
-
20. Love with Flaws
Korean Drama - 2019, 32 episodes
This was a hot, but funny mess. The beginning was pretty hilarious. It's got a lot of toilet humor, so if that's not your thing maybe skip this one. This cast is filled with so much eye candy and beautiful faces. You could say my eyes hurt from all the beauty. :P Things get more serious toward the middle and there was less comedy. Unfortunately, the comedy was the main thing this drama had going for it, so that's where this drama starts to go downhill. I absolutely loved the music, which is probably more catered toward more of an American taste.
When I started this drama, I was looking for something that would make me laugh. It did just that. The plot may have flaws and it may be repetitive at times. The main couple may not have chemistry. However, it's just a fun, goofy watch. Don't expect anything out of it except a few good laughs and some eye candy.
p.s. I'm upset we didn't get to see Antoinette. :P
p.p.s. Min Woo Hyuk's voice. ♥ -
21. Save Me
Korean Drama - 2017, 16 episodes
I feel like I finished a really long episode of the twilight zone. It's like all the anger I've been feeling at the world, I was able to channel and direct it at this drama. I guess the reason I had such an extreme reaction while watching this is because it's not far from the truth. The sad thing is that this stuff happens. It's disgusting how some people exploit others when they are most desperate. Anyways, it's a great drama with the social commentary and all. It just left me feeling bitter and disgusted.
-
22. Gibo to Musume no Blues
Japanese Drama - 2018, 10 episodes
Kind of dumb, but so wholesome and heartwarming. I loved every minute of it. The perfect drama to recover after Save Me. Also, I love how they used actual business concepts.
-
23. Gibo to Musume no Blues SP
Japanese Special - 2020, 1 episode
OMG I need more after that ending!
-
24. Mother of Mine
Korean Drama - 2019, 108 episodes
I don't think this drama was worth watching. I really loved the main storyline (involving second daughter). I loved both the ML and FL (both actors and characters). However, the main story takes up only about 1/4th of the drama. I absolutely hated the drama revolving around the eldest daughter and her in-laws. That family was a hot mess and I just couldn't watch most of their scenes. The youngest daughter's story is okay. However, she's an annoying brat so it was hard for me to watch her scenes too.
Then there's the antagonists and ML's father. They were kind of lame, but refreshing in a way I guess. Overall, it's a really long drama (108 episodes) and I don't know if it was worth the time when I really only wanted to watch 1/4th of the actual content. -
25. Gourmet
Korean Drama - 2008, 24 episodes
The plot is pretty similar to Kim Tak Goo, but it hits the spot for 2000's kdrama nostalgia. They just don't make dramas like this anymore. I was hoping this would inspire me to cook, but all it made me do is realize I need to work more on my slicing and dicing (my cutting skills are mad weak). xD I liked how the story focused more on the cooking and less on the romance.
-
26. WATCHER
Korean Drama - 2019, 16 episodes
This was directed by Ahn Gil Ho (same director as Stranger). It definitely one of the best crime/thrillers of 2019. There were a few things that annoyed me, but the rest I loved. What made this drama so satisfying for me is that it's one of those dramas where they go after corrupt police/prosecutors. I'm so tired of seeing corrupt cops get away with things in dramas. Here, it was super satisfying to see them get arrested. The story, direction, acting, and OST were all good. Some of it is predictable, a lot of it is not. You might've seen many of the concepts before, but it was all put together very well.
-
27. Timeless Romance
Chinese Movie - 2019
Needed to watch something with less than 100 watchers.
Interesting concept, but poorly executed. I felt nothing while watching this and did not find it funny at all. -
28. Love Clinic
Korean Movie - 2015
A lot funnier than I thought it would be.
-
29. Black Dog
Korean Drama - 2019, 16 episodes
It's more of a slow paced workplace drama/slice of life. It's just not my thing. In a way, there seems to be multiple arches...I'm not sure what the main message was since the writer wanted to comment on a lot of things. It was an inspiring drama, but the lack of professionalism was off-putting. See review for more details.
-
30. Grand Maison Tokyo
Japanese Drama - 2019, 11 episodes
Loved it! It was very refreshing, yet old school at the same time. Loved how the main cast was in their 40s/50s, yet they were still working hard to achieve their dreams. It's just one of those inspiring dramas that make you want to work hard. The music was such a mood. It matched the drama perfectly. I realized I'm not into fine dining or French cuisine, but this has a good story so it's a great food drama nonetheless.
-
31. Diary of a Prosecutor
Korean Drama - 2019, 16 episodes
This has the same writer and director as Age of Youth 1 & 2. It is a feel good law drama with very little evil chaebol/corrupt politician intervention (similar to Miss Hammurabi). Although it is technically not a comedy, it has a nice dose of comedy to offset the seriousness of some of the cases. I got a couple of good laughs out of this drama. Majority of the characters are very endearing and will grow on you. This drama was like a 9 for me for the first 10 episodes and then it began to lose some steam. Also, there was an addition of a very unlikable character toward the end that kind of ruined my enjoyment of the drama. Overall, very enjoyable law drama. Gonna miss these goofballs.
-
32. My Holo Love
Korean Drama - 2020, 12 episodes
A hot mess of drama clichés, but surprisingly highly entertaining.
-
33. Stove League
Korean Drama - 2019, 16 episodes
Not your typical sports drama. It's more of a workplace drama about sports management and sports analytics than it is about playing the game. Basically, all the stuff that goes on behind the scenes. It made the drama refreshing, but again workplace dramas are not my thing, especially when it comes to unprofressionalism (though there was a lot less this time). If you look at the episode ratings, you'll see a spike after episode 10....that's when we finally got to see some exciting sports action. :) I loved how they didn't ship the ML and FL together. The writer was lowkey shipping them with other people and I really loved that. Oh, and I also loved the music. Can that one ending theme be my fight anthem?
-
34. Crash Landing on You
Korean Drama - 2019, 16 episodes
I really enjoyed and loved it, but I also think a part of it was overhyped. Both ML and FL were great.
-
35. Some Day Or One Day?
Taiwanese Drama - 2019, 13 episodes
Such a complicated, well thought out drama that keeps you guessing until the end. Amazing for Taiwanese time travel drama standards. Episode 12 was a bit of a filler episode, but the drama ended surprisingly better than expected.
MAKE SURE TO WATCH THE EPILOGUE AFTER THE FINALE ON THE INSTAGRAM ACCOUNT @somedayoroneday. -
36. Crocodile and Plover Bird
Chinese Drama - 2019, 50 episodes
FINALLY FINISHED! Okay, so the first 35 episodes were like an 8 for me and then the rest were average fillers. It was kind of difficult to get through those last 15 episodes. Mainly 1 character kind of ruined this drama for me (let's call her Bitch Face...trust me, you'll know when you see her) and it turns out that most of the scenes I worked on had her in those scenes. Now I know why I didn't like this drama much initially in the first half. Anyways, here's the breakdown....
Pros:
+ Chen Bolin (he's mastered the art of looking like a pitiful puppy dog)
+ I thought this was gonna have a tsundre male lead. Although he is a bit cold, this is a Male Chases Female plot. ML is VERY vocal about his affections toward FL.
+ Episodes 1-30 are really well paced.
+ THE SOUNDTRACK. It was stuck in my head for a long time.
+ Pretty scenic scenes of France (though very limited)
Cons:
- The last few episodes dragged with dumb drama. It really dropped my rating.
- I wanted karma to hit Bitch Face like a truck...It did, but karma needed to hit a bit harder.
- Sorry, watching scientists grow plants and work in a lab is not my thing. Those scenes were like watching paint dry for me.
- Repetitive side character break up/get back together drama.
I want to give this a 6.5 for the plot, but I'm adding +0.5 for the soundtrack. -
37. Joy of Life
Chinese Drama - 2019, 46 episodes
A Chinese historical hasn't made me laugh this much since Go Princess Go (and this isn't even mainly a comedy). This was really well executed.
I was gonna give this a 9.5, but those last 10 minutes D:!! Why did no one warn me there was gonna be a season 2?? Now I gotta wait 2 years. -
38. Hey Pro My Mountain Girl
Chinese Drama - 2019, 12 episodes
-
39. Hey Pro My Mountain Girl Second Season
Chinese Drama - 2019, 12 episodes
I think I might have liked this half slightly better than the first despite all the typical second half drama. The ML and FL finally get together in this half.
+ good looking manager and his dog
+ second lead syndrome (the neighbor ♥)
+ ML is an inexperienced CEO (It was a bit refreshing to see this. i'm used to seeing 'know it all' CEOs. This way FL made a lot of contributions to revive the ski resort).
- second female lead...ugh, she was delusional
- main couple kind of lacked chemistry...it's passable. whatever. -
40. Ever Night
Chinese Drama - 2018, 60 episodes
Ugh, I feel so conflicted! On one hand this drama was so aesthetic and beautifully made when it comes to scenery, cinematography, costumes, and soundtrack. On the other hand, the storytelling kind of sucked. It was so confusing to follow if you did not read the novel and I mainly started understanding about a third of the way into the series.
-
41. Followers
Japanese Drama - 2020, 9 episodes
Bright and colorful with a lot of scenic shots. I wasn't a fan of the camera work though. There were also way too many characters to follow for my liking. I only really liked 3-4 of the characters' storylines. Loved the main message of the drama.
-
42. Rapper ni Kamaretara Rapper ni Naru
Japanese Special - 2019, 2 episodes
Omg, I wish this was subbed because it was so dumb, it was good. I mean...rapping zombies....I couldn't resist. Totally worth it lol.
-
43. Nee Sensei, Shiranai No?
Japanese Drama - 2019, 6 episodes
So fluffy I died. I mainly liked that it was short and sweet. Watch at your own risk.
-
44. Please Love Me
Chinese Drama - 2019, 24 episodes
Hit the spot for contract relationship/fake dating. The villain was kind of dumb.
-
45. Romantic Doctor, Teacher Kim 2
Korean Drama - 2020, 16 episodes
-
46. The Best Partner
Chinese Drama - 2019, 42 episodes
This was a pleasant surprise. It has an A+ Cast and fantastic production. The style is more American (because it is an adaptation), but not quite episodic. For Chinese law dramas, this was actually really amazing.
I'm seeing a lot of mixed reviews for this. This drama's focus is heavy on law and debate. There is a lot of thought provoking conversation and dialogue on legal and social issues. I personally enjoyed it, but if that is not your thing then skip this one. Also, this is not a romance drama so do not expect any romance no matter how much you ship it. (I totally shipped FL with Mai Fei though T-T)
For Suits fans, this is a loose adaptation of Suits, not quite a remake. Although some scenes and sequences are copied exactly from the original. Luo Bin is no Harvey, but Jin Dong still plays an interesting character. Also, I loved He Sai (Tian Yu) as the lovable loser. It was really awesome to see the character development of multiple characters and how the dynamics of relationships changed. -
47. Money Game
Korean Drama - 2020, 16 episodes
This drama requires a decent understanding of economic policies and financial history. I liked the second half better than the first (which was more build up), but found the ending to be disappointing.
There are two reasons to watch this:
1. You have a passion for economics and finance.
2. You want to see Yoo Teo as Eugune Han, a handsome antagonist. :P -
48. The Game: Towards Zero
Korean Drama - 2020, 32 episodes
It had a lot of stupid and illogical moments that made me want to yell at my screen, and yet I was hooked.
-
49. Never Twice
Korean Drama - 2019, 72 episodes
Gotta love my family weekenders. I loved how the residents at the inn were not biologically related, but they were all part of a family dynamic. Also, this drama has the second cutest baby in dramaland (after Sol).
p.s. I kept getting distracted by Kwak Dong Yeon's jawline. xD -
50. A Sun
Taiwanese Movie - 2019
Excellent cinematography, depressing plot.
-
51. The Lady Improper
Hong Kong Movie - 2018
-
52. The Flu
Korean Movie - 2013
It was a bit of an extreme scenario, but I think it did a good job of depicting all the realistic things that happen in a pandemic situation.
-
53. Well Intended Love Season 2
Chinese Drama - 2020, 16 episodes
This season was basically a reboot without the messed up plot twist from season 1. Therefore, I liked this season better than the first because the male lead was a lot more likable as a character. However, because it didn't have the same shock value that season 1 had, I felt like the drama didn't stand out as much compared to other dramas. It's still a very sweet and cute drama though and an enjoyable watch for the contract relationship storyline.
I'm keeping my rating the same as the 1st season. I personally really loved it, but wouldn't highly recommend it. Nor do I think it brought anything new to the table...it's just a nice homage to season 1 fans. -
54. Yuwol: The Boy Who Made The World Dance
Korean Movie - 2018
Feel good dance movie. Can you believe this was just a grad thesis project?
-
55. La faune d'Itaewon
Korean Drama - 2020, 16 episodes
*sigh* I can't believe it's over. This has got to be one of my favorite dramas of the year. I'm trying to be cautious with my rating because I know I'm a little biased when it comes to Park Seo Joon, but can I say that Kim Da Mi stole the show. She was like my girl crush. Other than that everything was great. Loved how the writer tried to be woke (though they could only briefly touch upon some of the topics). The story is EXCELLENT for the first 10 episodes and then starts to slow down after that. The ending was great though.
What was the most satisfying part of the finale for you? I'm posting mine as a spoiler comment. -
56. Koi wa Tsuzuku yo Doko Made mo
Japanese Drama - 2020, 10 episodes
-
57. Beautiful Love, Wonderful Life
Korean Drama - 2019, 100 episodes
Okay, so I needed a family weekender + makjang to distract me for a week during quarantine and this drama HIT THE SPOT. It has a nice balance of both (but maybe slightly more makjang). Some reasoning/logic of the characters will be messed up because this is a makjang. I loved the subtle bromance in this. Anyways, this drama managed to keep me interested from beginning to end. Perfect for binging.
DO NOT READ THE SYNOPSIS. It is somewhat misleading. Seol Ah is not the FL, the second sister is. The synopsis and promotional posters will make you think the story is going in another trajectory. -
58. Dr Cutie
Chinese Drama - 2020, 28 episodes
-
59. My Lonely Planet
Chinese Drama - 2020, 24 episodes
Really loved it. This drama is for animal lovers...more so dog lovers than cat lovers I think. They did a great job of representing the dog personality. The cat personality was not as interesting. Whenever ML switched to cat mode, he channeled a moody cat. This interpretation is much different than what I'm used to seeing in dramas, but it's not wrong. I just felt like they could've done so many other things to represent cat characteristics...there were a lot of missed opportunities in this area.
+ Happy Feels
+ Fashion
+ Furry Friends
+ Lots of kisses (i am not worthy of all the fanservice!) -
60. Yokoso Wagaya e
Japanese Drama - 2015, 10 episodes
I tried so hard to get into this, but I just couldn't. I just kept falling asleep. The dad's workplace drama was especially boring to me. The other family members had an interesting storyline at least.
-
61. Fake Phoenixes
Chinese Drama - 2017, 12 episodes
Not bad for a low budget gender bender. What's unique about this series is that the male lead cross dresses as a woman and the female lead cross dresses as a man. It's a bit unclear when they discover each other's secrets (they didn't reveal it until the end). Therefore, the romance is a bit unusual because they do show affection toward each other without saying that they know each other's identity.
-
62. Don Quixote
Japanese Drama - 2011, 11 episodes
Well, what do you know! This drama withstood the test of time. It was surprisingly very cute and funny for a drama involving neglected and abused children.
-
63. Fake Phoenixes 2
Chinese Drama - 2017, 12 episodes
Ugh, the terrible machine translated subs make it hard to understand the political drama but I'm finally getting it.
-
64. Tootsies and the Fake
Thai Movie - 2019
Same old lovable goofballs. Gotta love these dorks. Hilarious as ever.
-
65. Fake Phoenixes 3
Chinese Drama - 2017, 12 episodes
I loved the ML in seasons 1 & 2, but this season I had major second lead syndrome. < /3
-
66. Sunset in My Hometown
Korean Movie - 2018
That dorky ending was everything. ❤ The story is a bit slow and depressing, but it's more of a healing story about a guy coming to terms with his hometown and past. I loved all the Show Me The Money references. The romance was kind of meh, but I didn't care much about it to begin with anyway
-
67. Graceful Family
Korean Drama - 2019, 16 episodes
I feel so conflicted. On one hand, I really loved the female lead because she was a total intelligent badass. On the other hand this drama was so over the top with the evilness and scheming. It really made my blood boil. It felt like 80% of the characters were evil with no morals or humanity. This family was just savage and effed up. The drama reminded me a lot of The K2, except with a smarter female lead. In that drama, I at least liked the villain. Here, I hated almost everyone
I forgot to mention there was lakorn level banshee screaming. Like I said, this drama was over the top. -
68. Fah Fak Ruk
Thai Drama - 2020, 15 episodes
Solid pregnancy lakorn complete with your typical birth secrets and murder mystery. That plot twist at the end was crazy.
-
69. Sweet Tai Chi
Chinese Drama - 2019, 24 episodes
I loved this drama so much and I don't even know why cuz the plot wasn't extraordinary or anything. It was just very suited to my taste and refreshing.
+ Very aesthetic drama from the scenery to the set. I loved some of the outfits too. FL is an arts major and this adds to the aesthetics.
+ Adorable lead couple. The actors are very young so you won't see anything like kisses, but the natural skinship more than makes up for it.
+ Martial Arts competition / Sports / Tai chi (Tai chi is very aesthetic to look at since it is fluid in movement and reminds me of dance).
+ Eye Candy....lots of it.
+ FL is a tomboy and doesn't like wearing dresses lol. I can relate.
+ Bloopers! It was so amusing to see lead actor switch from being a serious character to the adorable precious dork that he is. Dude needs to be protected. ♥ -
70. Drama Special Season 10: Society - Understanding
Korean Special - 2019, 1 episode
I'm probably being biased cuz it's dance related, but this just made me feel so happy. Loved the OST and the fact that it had a non-cliche dance plot.
-
71. Working on Saturday
Korean Movie - 2011
-
72. Fatal Journey
Chinese Movie - 2020
I think I'm the only one who thought this was just okay. Although, I didn't care much about this part of the Untamed plot to begin with.
-
73. Chichi to Musuko no Chika Aidoru
Japanese Special - 2020, 1 episode
-
74. To Be With You
Chinese Drama - 2019, 65 episodes
This was actually pretty decent for a Chinese melodrama. You could maybe even say it was slightly above average for its genre. It was just really, really long. It had a lot of "twists" and cliches, but most of them were like a guilty pleasure for me because I enjoyed them. Also, I don't care much for this, but I know others do...ML is shirtless a lot lol.
-
75. Sous le pouvoir
Chinese Drama - 2019, 55 episodes
Can't decide between 8 or 8.5, but I'll give it 8 for now.
+FANTASTIC costumes, great production for a limited budget.
+Main OTP
+Seven Tan is adorable as always.
+FL is semi badass and very cunning. >:)
-Some of the stunts seemed very fake and could've used improvement
-Last 10 episodes were super draggy
~Okay ending. I don't know what I was expecting tbh. -
76. XX
Korean Drama - 2020, 10 episodes
Slow paced webdrama and the subject matter is not really suited for my tastes. It's heavy on the cheating theme. It's a decent drama for webdrama standards and has its good moments.

77. Hidarikiki no Eren
Japanese Drama - 2019, 10 episodes
Artsy direction, but I couldn't get into it. The struggles of being a designer were relatable though.

78. You Are My Destiny
Japanese Drama - 2020, 10 episodes
Loved it. ♥ It's a pretty good remake given the episode count. It's still got its cheesy and fun classic elements. I wasn't annoyed by the ending. They split the storyline into two seasons (pre and post transformation).

79. Kono Otoko wa Jinsei Saidai no Ayamachidesu
Japanese Drama - 2020, 10 episodes
Started out hilarious and then sort of lost its steam by the end. I absolutely LOVED the opening and ending themes. I also really liked how they would rewind the episode during the credits. :) It was a refreshing, short watch for me.

80. Find Yourself
Chinese Drama - 2020, 41 episodes
Okay, this drama eventually won me over. Objectively, it's a decent, well made and entertaining drama. I'm still not going to give it a full 7 because I had to force myself through some parts. I think a lot of it had to do with my personal preference. There were a lot of things on my taboo list that didn't quite sit right with me. Many codes were broken: Boss dating intern (HR code), professor dating student (school policy), dude sleeping with his friend's sister (bro code) lol. Aside from that, there was some side story filler drama that I wanted to skip through.
Here's what I did like:
+good cast
+good dogs
+the kisses :)
+the He family and their shenanigans
+badminton scenes
+the secretly dating stuff -
81. Shiranakute I Koto
Japanese Drama - 2020, 10 episodes
I still really liked it despite how it ended and the infidelity (didn't see the infidelity tag...oops). The beginning episodes were really great. There was a mystery element and an emotional element too...something about it just had me hooked.

82. Kokoro no Kizu wo Iyasu to Iu Koto
Japanese Drama - 2020, 4 episodes
My average episode rating is 8.65. This was honestly just a beautifully made historical drama. Emoto Tasuku knocked it out of the park.
-
83. LIQUID - Oni no Sake, Kiseki no Kura
Japanese Drama - 2015, 3 episodes
I guess this was artsy and informational. I did not know how complicated it was to make sake. The drama has a gorgeous backdrop.

84. Kaew Klang Dong
Thai Drama - 2019, 14 episodes
It took me about 1.5 episodes to get into it, but I really loved it! The first half is more of a parental love kind of situation. I thought I would be weirded out by it, but it is so sweet! This drama is hilarious and I was smiling through about 80% of it. I felt like a proud parent at each stage of her character growth as she assimilates into "civilized" society. The action was okay (i'm not really a fan of action in lakorns cuz it usually isn't choreographed well). The pacing was great.
The baby elephant at the end was so cute! ToT ♥ ♥ -
85. Suparburoot Jorm Jon: Maturot Lohgan
Thai Drama - 2019, 16 episodes
Hmm, I seemed to have stumbled upon a slap/kiss...or a mild one at least. I'm not sure if it even counts as one because ML is pretending to be an ass in order to trick FL (for her own protection). The story is set in the 50's, in an extremely patriarchal society, so you will see some of the same crap you see in slap/kiss storyline (with supporting characters). I could've done without the supernatural/ghost part of the plot. The SL was pretty cute, but dumb af. The plot is a 7 for me. I'm gonna give it +0.5 for the action (which is better than most) and for the non asshole ML.
Here's why I think it has high ratings:
-Great chemistry between main leads
-Plenty of "hot" scenes. ML is shirtless a lot.
-This is the latter part of a two part series and the consensus is that this part is waaay better than the first. -
86. Sapai Import
Thai Drama - 2020, 17 episodes
My love for contract marriage plots was neutralized by my dislike of farm lakorns. +1 for some laugh out loud hilarious scenes and the baseball like sound effects/music. I still can't get over the gecko scene. xD

87. My Secret Bride
Thai Drama - 2019, 18 episodes
Absolutely loved it. What can I say. I'm trying not to be biased, but Great is great. The cast was fantastic. Even some of the supporting actors were my favorite, including the ones in negative roles. The villain was pretty well rounded, but I noticed a few inconsistencies with the villain's character. FL was cute and I can't help but like her. One of the supporting characters was a koreaboo, which was super annoying, but she got better towards the middle.
This is a contract marriage plot (totally up my alley), but does not have the typical romantic comedy cliches that are normally associated with this trope. It was a bit refreshing for me. This drama also has a hint of supernatural/ghost elements, but I thought it was executed well and fit in just right.
Also, I loved how this drama had disclaimers. For example, there was a scene involving domestic violence, but after the scene they had a hotline you could call to report it if you're in such a situation. I've seen so many triggering things in lakorns, but this is the first time where I've seen one address the issue with a hotline to get help. ♥ -
88. Friend Contract
Korean Drama - 2020, 8 episodes
Good music. ^-^

89. Hello, Mom
Korean Drama - 2020, 16 episodes
My average episode rating was 6.53. Overall, I'm giving it a 7 for being a touching drama. It got draggy at some points and there was a problem with the pacing in the second half. There were also a lot of side ghost stories, which I didn't mind so much. I think this drama would've been a lot better pacing wise if they had used a slightly more episodic format. The writer concluded the side stories toward the end, but I felt like it would've been better if they covered and concluded one side story per episode.

90. Watashi, Teiji de Kaerimasu
Japanese Drama - 2019, 10 episodes
Okay, unpopular opinion: This drama was sort of meh for me. It tried to be woke on certain feminist and workplace issues, but at this point I've seen them a bajillion times. It felt like a copy and paste from other dramas. I liked the second half better than the first. I also loved the overall message of this drama. It was a nice reminder to take care of your mental and physical health.

91. The Bros
Korean Movie - 2017
This movie was whack...The beginning was kind of boring, but I really liked the twist in the second half.
-
92. L' Amour En Patinage
Chinese Drama - 2020, 40 episodes
Okay, I thought I was losing it and began doubting myself about my score, but my hunch was right...my average episode rating is 7.25. If you know me, you know I love my Chinese youth sports dramas. However, I think there was a lot of hype when it came to this drama. Don't get me wrong, this is actually a pretty good sports drama. It's just that I didn't think it was THAT amazing. I just didn't feel as much of a rush of excitement that I do with other sports dramas.
Who knows...maybe I ruined the drama for myself? Maybe I had higher expectations going in? There's also the matter of me reading a good chunk of the novel before hand...there's a reason I started this drama so late (so I could approach it with a more fresh mind).
I also thought they overdid it with the whole Ashes of Love/Deng Lun references/cameo thing. Although, I LOVED Wu Dajing's cameo. Usually when actual athletes make cameos in these dramas, they are not the best actors understandably. However, Wu Dajing was a pretty decent actor. ^-^ -
93. I’ll Go to You When the Weather Is Nice
Korean Drama - 2020, 16 episodes
A lot of it was predictable, some of it was not. I really loved some of the twists in the second half. This drama did a solid job as a mystery/thriller. I have not seen the jdrama Repeat so I can't compare.

94. 365: One Year Against Destiny
Korean Drama - 2020, 24 episodes
A lot of it was predictable, some of it was not. I really loved some of the twists in the second half. This drama did a solid job as a mystery/thriller. I have not seen the jdrama Repeat so I can't compare.

95. Pegasus Market
Korean Drama - 2019, 12 episodes
Easily an 8, but I'm gonna bump it up to 8.5 cuz this is my type of humor. There were also many inside jokes and parodies that even if I got most of them, I also think I missed some of the jokes. I'm trying to think of a way to describe this drama. I could only think of the following: original, unpredictable, hilarious, somewhat episodic, crazy, and wholesome.
-
96. Juré 8
Korean Movie - 2019
Light and easy watch, but also very moving.
-
97. Love Better Than Immortality
Chinese Drama - 2019, 40 episodes
Here's the breakdown: ML is basically the bad boy type and people found it very attractive. One of the main reasons to watch is that the ML is the villain of the story, which is rare and refreshing. The scenes between the two main leads were the only entertaining part of the drama. Plotwise, everything else was boring. I could've cared less about Xiao Bai (SL) and his gang. The backstory between the parents/ancestors was semi-interesting, but also felt like a missed opportunity.
-
98. Frog Prince
Chinese Drama - 2020, 38 episodes
I don't have the heart to give this a 6. This story holds a very special place in my heart, even though it's a very old school and cliche one. Because of the episode length, the plot does get super draggy in the second half. Anyways, I think I liked the ML and FL better in this version.

99. Perfect Partner
Chinese Drama - 2020, 51 episodes
I really liked this drama for its cases. However, the female lead is so stubbornly stupid and naive that it almost ruined the drama for me. Most of the female characters were annoying as well (I suspect the script was written by a man). Luckily, the female lead gets this huge reality check about 30 episodes in and that sort of saved the show for me.
Side note: I'm sick and tired of of these cdramas depicting all foreigners as criminals and assholes. Such obvious propaganda. -
100. Ie Uru Onna
Japanese Drama - 2016, 10 episodes
GO! lol She was so serious in this one. I'm usually not a fan of jdramas with robotic female leads, but this was cute and fun. Plus, I really liked checking out the properties.
