  • Kotaki Brothers and Shikuhakku

    1. Kotaki Brothers and Shikuhakku

    Japanese Drama - 2020, 12 episodes

    9.5

This surely is one of the top 10 Asian drama of 2020. Story with purpose makes a show. Beautiful Idols and actors don’t even matter. From their attire to the food they eat and the customers they meet. Not preachy at all. A show with heart. This is where Japanese Media outshines other Asian dramas. It didn’t captivate me until episode 5, but from that onwards, it’s just amazing. When I first watched this, the episode felt too long but as it reached the end, I felt that it was too short. I laughed and also cried. This drama reminded me once again the strength of (good) j-dramas and the charm of slice of life dramas that I’ve always loved. What a journey!

  • The Victims' Game

    2. The Victims' Game

    Taiwanese Drama - 2020, 8 episodes

    9.0

Watching this made my heart ache for the victims. The way they tried to make their presence known was pretty extreme yet really sad at the same time. Our society has turned into something that abandoned and discriminated against those who were different from the majority, deciding who’s important and who’s not. This drama showed this messed up side of our society really well. The actors’ performance was amazing as well.

  • Black Dog

    3. Black Dog

    Korean Drama - 2019, 16 episodes

    9.5

Black dog, what a great drama! It might be an underdog but it’s one of the best 2020 korean drama for me. I loved how the drama took the POV of teachers since there weren’t a lot of k-dramas that had taken this route. I loved (and hated) the teachers and the students. The only complaint that I have is the actors who played the students are too old for the role. I wished they chose high schooler to play as the students.

  • Kokoro no Kizu wo Iyasu to Iu Koto

    4. Kokoro no Kizu wo Iyasu to Iu Koto

    Japanese Drama - 2020, 4 episodes

    9.0

Heartwarming and heart wrenching at the same time.

  • Flower of Evil

    5. Flower of Evil

    Korean Drama - 2020, 16 episodes

    7.5

This drama hasn’t ended but I love the first half of this drama. This drama is kinda like my guilty pleasure lmao. I love how fast this drama pace is, I love the thrill. If the second half of this drama goes bad, then I’ll only consider the first half exists while the latter part doesn’t exist.

  • Drama Special Season 9: Forgotten Season

    6. Drama Special Season 9: Forgotten Season

    Korean Special - 2018, 1 episode

    8.0

The complexity of its characters, messy humanity, no happy ending, and the gorgeous cinematography. As a character study, I found this drama absolutely outstanding.

  • Go Ahead

    7. Go Ahead

    Chinese Drama - 2020, 46 episodes

    9.5

A drama/film with a family-but-has-no-bound plot is  something that I always love because it has an interesting dynamics between “family members” and for that reason, I really like this drama. It’s not draggy despite of its long episodes. The “love triangle” plot drove me crazy because why would you add that to this heartwarming family drama but thanks god it’s short! Every characters are precious but 李爸 is the best. Definitely one of the best 2020 c-dramas for me.

  • Method

    8. Method

    Korean Drama - 2020, 12 episodes

    9.0

Mystery and shamanism is a weird combination, but it makes an interesting story. I think it's even better than other mystery dramas. Also, it's only 12 episodes, perfect for someone who has a short attention span like me.

  • A Murderous Affair in Horizon Tower

    9. A Murderous Affair in Horizon Tower

    Chinese Drama - 2020, 16 episodes

    7.5

A mystery drama with so much emotion behind it?A mystery drama that revolves not only around the case, but also the people involved in it? I LOVE IT! I feel so sorry for Zhong Mei Bao. She’s such a sweetheart, living only for her brother and her bff. She’s the light for the others around her. Her death’s definitely saddening. The way I’m too emotionally connected with all the characters (except for that trash).. OST, plot, the plot twist, the ending is all perfect so it’s an easy 10/10

Definitely one of the best dramas of 2020. (Fyi, I never used the ff button while watching this and that’s definitely something for me since I’ve short attention span and love ff button way too much :))

  • Oriole in the Post

    10. Oriole in the Post

  • Romance is a Bonus Book

    11. Romance is a Bonus Book

    Korean Drama - 2019, 16 episodes

    9.5

BOOK BOOK BOOK. Just like its title suggests, romance is the bonus. I love how the writer still focused on the publishing company parts while romance was just the side dish. Other dramas tend to not put the romance as the main story focus at first only to actually set aside the main story for romance at the end. Later, I found out that RIABB writer is also “Five Children” writer and I wasn’t surprised that I love this drama. I just love the writer’s writing. The drama where I didn’t mind the romance part. Some of the couples were cute <3. The casts were whacky af. Putting the book publishing company dynamics into a drama is a god move imo. When will I get another book-related drama?

    Japanese Drama - 2020, 7 episodes

The last drama that I finished in 2020 and the best drama of 2020. It's funny how my most favourite dramas from 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020 are all winter dramas. I love the humour, love the characters, love the ambiance, and the 25 minutes per episode thing. This drama hits all the right spots for me and therefore deserves to be my best drama of 2020.  What a drama to end my (our) horrible 2020!
