I really enjoyed this drama. The acting was very good from everyone, but Ariel Lin's was outstanding. She really made me want to go look for everything else she has acted in. She made me LIVE her character. could have sworn it was real.
Actually, one of the best things about this drama is how rounded and developed all the characters are. The relationships and interactions among friends and family were very real and healthy -for the most part-.
One of the main complaints I've read of this drama is how the relationship between the Main OTP took so long to develop, but I found that the other side stories and lessons were strong enough to support the drama outside of the romance.
I recommend this drama if you liked 9 ends 2 outs or I Need Romance 2012. It is mellow, funny, sweet and well acted.

"The higher the expectations, the bigger the disappointment."
I have never been so proud of myself for being able to finish a drama. Seriously. After months of pushing myself to finish this one (because, as much as possible, I don't want to drop a drama unless I really, really don't like it), I managed to watch the last two episodes of this drama yesterday.
Yes, I'm a fan of Yoon Eun Hye, too, and she's the main reason why I decided to watch this, aside from the fact that my friend was spazzing over LTM after finishing it. I had high hopes for this one. I started watching it without knowing the comments of other people aside from that of the certain friend of mine and, well, after watching an episode after another, I found myself finding it difficult to watch the next.
I didn't know that they changed scriptwriters until just a few moments ago. I guess that's the reason for whatever happened to the story which didn't really appeal to me. Although I have to admit that there are scenes that I found cute.
Yes, the leads have chemistry, but I found myself cringing at their cheesiness halfway through the show. The side characters aren't even developed and seemed to me like they just existed for display. Err... at least I had someone who kept me watching it -- Park Hoon. (And it's not even because the actor's good or anything, but because I found him cute; I had to find something to look forward in seeing in order to finish this.)
It's a given that YEH is a superb actress. It was my first time watching Kang Ji Hwan and, in my opinion, he's a good actor. The other casts are good, too, but there was something in Soon Joon's and Jo Yoon Hee's that seems lacking to me. Or I guess that's just because of their parts in the script.
In my opinion, the soundtracks are good. I especially liked Goodbye, Really Goodbye by M to M.
I don't really think I will re-watch this. Not even after 5 years or so. Or maybe I could re-watch the "cola scene", but... yeah.
Overall, this is a fair show. There's nothing special in the story. I guess those who are new to watching dramas will like this. Or those who generally like rom-coms. Or those who can tolerate cheesy situations.
I say my good luck to those who plan to watch this series. :)

Is the rating a bit too much? I doubt it.The story was breathtaking, especially in the beginning.
Music was a perfect partner in crime in their appropriate scenes, mainly with action scenes. It gave people the adrenaline rush.
Acting was superb. Especially from the main characters.
I can actually see myself re-watching this in a few years.
I was highly satisfied with this drama.
So to avoid any spoilers, I'll just highly recommend this to people who enjoy their drama with historical themes, tear jerking, action and overall good quality work.

The story was really good plus the acting makes it the almost perfect drama, the only thing that could be better is the music even though it is pretty good
So far my favourite drama

If you like simple dramas where you always know what's going to happen then this might not be the drama for you. I found it deeply thought-provoking and exciting for the point of veiw of somebody intressed in how the mind works. If you're intrested in psychology then watch this, it really makes you think about criminality and why people become criminals.
On top of that, this story isn't just about murder, each character has a backstory which makes them more realistic as characters. Which is why I think that the writing is wonderful. If you like to connect with characters and care when something bad happens to them, then this is a good drama for you. As I fell in love with all the characters and I was almost shouting at the screen at points because of it.
The background music fits perfectly, and I found myself wanting to buy the soundtrack straight after watching it.
The only negative points about the drama, is that a) it's too short, only 8 episodes is not enough, so it's all over too quickly. And b) Once you've seen it the suspense is ruined because you know what happens. However I feel like rewatching it because of the acting and characters.
On a bonus point there is also great cinematography in this drama, it's shot in a beautiful location!

The kids were fantastic, and the mystery and story set-up of their episodes was enough to draw me in completely. I was waiting impatiently each week for the next episodes. But even with the adult actors being who they are (I was very ready to love this drama, with just the actors alone), that couldn't stop the drama from dragging its heels for all of the middle episodes, because they apparently only had one very thin plot point to go on (first love). The show was so focused on the main pairing that everyone and everything else fell by the wayside.
It was a very pretty drama, and got better towards the end, but I think this was one of the most overrated shows of 2012, and did not deserve to hit 40 in the ratings. It wasn't a bad show, not at all. It just wasn't as good as it could have been, or as the reviews and ratings suggest it is.

Loving You a Thousand Times

The best way to describe this show is that it's a 19th century period drama playing dress up in modern 21st century clothing. I mean you had 40 yr old virgins who had never kissed a man (and the very thought that she would do so with a man she isn't married to was a form of high treason), women being referred to as maidens (or whores), women so conservative they balk at the idea of wearing lingerie because it's too revealing (even in the marriage bed with your newly-wedded husband) and on and on and on. Several times I had to stop my viewing to double check the date this was released. I was shocked every time. It was indeed 2009 ... a mere 4 yrs ago.
Gender roles were extremely pronounced, and some of the messages preached to women were quite infuriating & incredible. I have nothing against gender roles in and of itself. Heck, when I have a mind for it I wash, cook, clean & iron for my Yobo too. Nothing is wrong with traditional gender roles as long as its right for those involved. What I had a problem with was how this drama dealt with serious issues such as infidelity and divorce. As a woman, I was greatly offended by a lot of its preachings in this regard.
I decided to watch the show because I thought it dealt with a mature, interesting topic, but how the story played out was a disappointment. The beginning and end were a grievance, both being terribly melodramatic with particularly bad, exaggerated acting from some of the older cast members. Instead of being touched I mostly heaved a sigh and rolled my eyes during these parts, if I didn't skip them all together.
The middle was okay for the most part, but again this too was ruined by a heroine who was as interesting as a wet noodle. This woman went through 55 episodes with a horrible woe-is-me, defeatist attitude that made me want to reach into the show and chuck her off into the Han River myself. Not only that, her ENTIRE behaviour defies logic. I can suspend belief when the circumstances call for it, but there was no earthly reason under the sun for this woman to behave the way she did 9/10 times.
She had NO backbone whatsoever, she bent over this way & that to please all the wrong people, she treated a perfectly good man who worshiped the ground she walked on like dog crap, her first instinct when life threw her a curve ball was to crawl into a hole & die OR hide her problems from those who can help her and lie, lie, lie to cover it up. I mean why on earth would someone lie when the truth works better in their favour? Moveover, why on earth are we born into this world with a family, why do we spend most of our lives trying to find a partner who will love us if not to depend on them in our times of need? How am I to root for a character who gives up without even trying? Who has no fighting spirit? Moreover, I can count on one hand the number of times this woman smiled for 55 episodes of this dratted drama.
On the other hand ... in complete contrast to her, you had a hero who has a great personality and an optimistic outlook on life. He's a modern man who takes charge of his own life & doesn't bow to every wish & demand of his elders. He loved his family & showed them respect as any filial child would, but he made the final decision about what course of action to take regarding his life. But most of all he was the type of man every good woman deserves, but a man like Kang Ho was wasted on a woman like Eun Nim. I have NO idea what he saw in her or why he loved her so much. He was everything Eun Nim should have been, but wasn't. I'm pretty sure if the elders told that woman to cut her own throat she'd do it without question.
By the end of the show I really didn't give a damn whether she lived or died. There were moments involving her when I should have been moved, but I just snickered. I wanted her to go hang herself and leave Kang Ho to find a woman who could face life with him head on, guns blazing. I felt pretty convinced she & he were incompatible and that in the long haul their relationship would not last. This is the first time in my life that I, perhaps the biggest romance junkie ever, did not want the main couple ending up together.
The secondary story arcs were good. I enjoyed them a lot more than main story line. They were also well cast, though horribly acted by the older cast members who had a tendency to exaggerate and overact. Furthermore, I can't conclude this review without expressing my complete & utter disdain for Kang Ho's hyung Sae Hun. He had a beautiful wife who loved him & yet he was insensitive and cruel toward her for more than 3/4 of the show & not once did I hear him apologise. It seems as though he was considerate of everyone else's feelings but hers, and would resort to despicable means to get his own way. I pity Seon Young for the long life she has to look forward to with this prick.
All the other characters were flawed and very human. I fluctuated between liking them and hating them, but mostly liking them. This is a good thing because it's probably the only good thing this drama had going for it. The characters, except Eun Nim, were all very well crafted. Many of them felt so real you're bound to see a personality you've encountered before in your own life. You had grown adults acting like big babies; neglectful, high-strung parents; selfish, lazy primadonnas; territorial children and the list goes on. I liked it. This, however, is not unusual for Korean (Asian) dramas -- most of them excel at crafting characters we can relate to so this doesn't win LYATT any points, as far as I'm concerned.
Overall, I mostly disliked this drama. Sadly. It had a reasonably good story, but for such a long drama an engaging lead character you can root for is paramount to its success. The drama failed for me due to an heroine I had difficulty identifying with. She was weak, unlikable & her behaviour was ridiculous & illogical. Moreover, the drama created a mountain out of a mole hill about things that had very straightforward and simple solutions, even a baby could figure it out ... but I guess that's melodramas for you.
It would be unconscionable of me to recommend any reasonably intelligent person to invest 55hrs of their life to watch this drama. It's not all bad, there were some good scenes, a bit of comedy here and there & some characters that will make you smile, but that constitutes only 10%. Therefore, the investment isn't worth it. And for heaven's sake if you're a feminist stay the hell away from this drama. Watch Ojakgyo Brothers instead if you're in the mood for a good family drama with likable leads and a heroine who acts like a normal human being & has gumption. Trust me, you'll be saving yourself a major spike in blood pressure.

But then again I think that thats part of it's charm. There is something about switch girl that justs draws you in and makes you watch it as the crazy unfolds. Plot? I'm not sure if there was one really but the romance between the 2 main leads was entertaining and you just wanna see if this cat underpants wearing simi replusive chic can win Arata over.
Music wise it didn't really stick out to me soundtrack wise. And I'm more interested in hunting down the isanity that will be "Switch Girl 2" which is currently airing and I hope someone translates it cause I gotta feeling I'd be more then willing to let my brain be taken hostage once again to watch part II to this crazy-go-nuts series.
If you're in the mood for some crazy Switch Girl is the drama for you.

The story itself isn't something I really recall seeing before in dramas that I've watched, so I did like that. The length of which it was told though; that needed a change. It was basically 12 episodes or so of the same thing. The show was literally pretty much nothing but "I hate you; I love you; I'm leaving; I'm moving back in." As much as I liked the cast, I almost couldn't make it all the way through this.
Add onto that the fact that the main female lead seemed to switch from a strong lead to a weak lead, and it wasn't really all that people make it out to be.
Acting/Cast: Definitely the best part about this drama, without a doubt.
I absolutely loved Rain in this role. He was, I suppose, the typical bad boy. Movie star, rich, bad attitude; you know how it is. And while those characters are usually the kinds of characters I dislike, I was pretty much crazy about Rain. He had a lot of moments where he'd pout, and it would give you the impression of a hurt puppy, and you couldn't help but love him.
Song Hye Kyo. Loved her. Totally loved her. Her character though, like I stated above, not so much. She seemed to start the show off as a really strong character who didn't take crap from anybody. And as the show went on, she ended up being the typical drama female lead that lets the whole world walk over her all the time. Song Hye Kyo was adorable though.
Kim Sung Soo. In all honesty, it was incredibly hard to focus on the show when he was on the screen. He's just insanely good looking, and it was hard to pay attention to anything but his face. It definitely made his role of "player" believable though.
Han Eun Jung was probably, surprisingly, one of the best acts in the show. You loved to hate her, and hated to love her; but you did both anyway. She took that role and made it hers.
Music: Right now, I can only really remember two songs from the show, and I hated one of them. Wanted to rip my ears off every time it was played.
Rewatch Value: Like I said at the beginning, this show is extremely repetitive. 80% of this drama is nothing but the same thing. It's like they just tossed in some different situations in hopes that you wouldn't notice it.
Overall: Overall, the cast is pretty much the only reason this got an 8 from me. The first and last episodes played a part in that score as well.
Aside from the repetitiveness of the main story, there were less important parts that really bugged me about this show. The main one, without a doubt, was the female lead's best friend. We go through this whole show hearing about her being pregnant (seriously, they talk about her being pregnant almost every time she's there), and even show us a baby at the end, but at no point in this show is she showing. She's stick thin the whole time, and it's really...just blah.

Twelve Men in a Year

Story - This drama focuses on a girl who finds herself in a situation where she has to date 12 guys each with different horoscopes and write about her experiences in XX magazine, using a secret alias. I really liked this unique storyline and how mature it was because honestly I was getting a bit bored with the usual kdramas with sappy love stories and nonstop crying (Yes, I'm talking about Missing You). Good thing I stumbled across this one by accident. It really does deserve more recognition :) I was a bit unsatisfied with the ending though.. I wanted her to end up with someone else.
Cast - The 12 guys (well most) were reallyyyy hot! ;) There are quite a lot of kiss scenes with them too. I liked the actors they picked out because they fit the characters personality very well (like ALEX lol). Most might think that the main girl was annoying and different.. well I thought that at first too. "Why the heck does she have that hairstyle, it's weird.." but it grew on me and now she's a lovable, cute character to me! The best friend, Tanya was perfect- from the first scene I saw her. She was indeed the perfect best friend but of course she has her own problems too. Ji Oh looked really cute and played his role of the jealous ex well. Supernova's Sungje and Kwangsoo were also casted which I found nice since I was a fan of Supernova ^^
Music - The music was great! I loved the opening and ending song, I found myself singing the opening song many times in my head without even realizing lol The songs for the sad scenes were emotional too.
Rewatch Value - I think I'd really like to watch this again some time in the future. It's like a treasure for me now.
If you are thinking about watching this drama, then I assure you- it will not be a waste of time. ^^

This is my first time writing this kind of review. Im so desperate because this drama is underrated even though its such a great drama. I didnt watch it because some famous girl groups are the actors/actresses but rather the plot it has. *spoiler alert* At first, you would actually think its just a normal drama and I predicted that the teacher and the student has an affair or anything but ive been flipped off by my hypothesis, because I was wrong. The drama is great, the actors and actresses are great even though they are still young that time, the music was great you can almost feel their emotions because of its great ost. The main actor was handsome so as his girlfriend in the drama. Hope you'll watch it. There's no dull moment. It shows how cruel the society are and i dont even know if this is what really happens in Korea's society. :) Cet avis était-il utile?
