Season 1 of this show; though not a continuation, it’s still really great and a worthwhile watch.

This is a sequel to the original, so context is required in order to understand the main protagonist and his prodigal genius.

Similarities:
-Both have leads with a terminal illness.
-Both have leads going through struggles because of that and coming to terms with it.
-Both sets realize that only by being truly together with support can they live each day to the fullest, regardless how short that time is.
-Both are melodramas.

-Both have antagonist doctors pretending to help.
-Other than the people immediately around the mains, trusting others can bring more harm than good.

-Both are by the same director and most of the cast is the same.
-Both have wuxia and mystical elements.
-Very rich and elaborate costumes.

Similarities:
-A small group of people band together to bring an end to evil and learn truths about the past and themselves.
-Great martial arts skills.
-Very smart/slightly cheesy ML's in both.
-Both groups solve mysteries and get to the bottom of things.
-Comedy is ever present in both.

Similarities:
-Both ML's had a hard upbringing.
-Both are talented and learn their martial arts quickly.
-Different sects and romance involved.
-Good vs evil and friendships formed.
-Impressive CGI combat.

Similarities:
-Same ML with similar starting time period.
-Tribute drama with slice of life, trials and tribulations of all characters.
-Rivals become friends.
-First love doesn’t always work for everyone.

Similarities:
-Both have a lead with a debilitating health issue.
-Both have identical lookalikes though for different reasons.
-Romance and comedy is present in both.
-Both SML's and other characters have to overcome their unrequited love/walking away from love to make things better.
-Both have great friendships and bonds with those they meet including their lookalikes.

Similarities:
-Multiple sects vying for power plus the imperial court involved somehow.
-Great martial arts skills and fights.
-Smart and savvy leads, with contingency plans and payback strategies.
-Romance make small appearances.
-Plot in one way or another revolves around getting revenge and/or uncovering mysteries.
-Friendship and comedy are both important.

Similarities:
-Both ML's had a fall from grace so to speak and had to start from scratch to become formidable opponents.
-Both are out for revenge and to become stronger.
-Fight scenes in both.
- Must rely on others for help and gained friends in the process.

Similarities:
-People growing up together trying to make a difference in their own lives and those of others.
-Not letting themselves be stepped on by bullies or others.
-Trying to bring in a new era of growth into their respective timelines.
-Mild romance and great friendships.
