Drum- Roll ~ Jackpot Japan
My first J-drama was Itazaru na Kiss. Even when I had seen its adaptation over and over, it felt like I was watching something new. This list contains all the JDramas I enjoyed. I am a total newbie, but I know my JDrama fever won't go down any time soon. Even if the dramas are rated low for some reason, they were memorable. If you have some recommendations, please DM me. I always crave something new. I watch all genres except "business"-related stuff. Example: Rikou , I loved the acting but all the business gossips went over my head. Also I don't add dramas which were released after 2020 here, coz I wanted to organize stuffs I watch. After I add 100 dramas, let me create another list, "Return of Jackpot Japan," or it will turn messy too. Also, please bear with my notes; I suck at expressing myself, my English sucks, and my life sucks. thanks :) Also, here's some basic knowledge you need to know: *click* Oda Nobunaga and other prominent lords are frequently talked about in dramas, and there are even special dramas based on their lives!

1. Kounodori
Japanese Drama - 2015, 10 episodes
TT TT , *Sobbing* Inhale Exhale ~ Deep breath.....
Okay, now I am ready to write! A Perfect 10. It deserves more than that, though. I am afraid that I might fall short on tears while my wedding farewell and embarrass my parents by saying, "Ah, look at this bride, she isn't even crying a bit," because I used all my tears here, crying during every episode. TBH, I didn't have much expectation since the synopsis sounded like a doctor who's hiding his interest in piano. I thought his piano skills were the main focus before I watched the first five minutes of the drama. I am not exaggerating. It's different from all other medical dramas because it's based on babies, and who can resist cute babies? THIS IS GEM, ART, MASTERPIECE, AND WHAT NOT. If someone is an avid drama watcher, try it. Not for beginners, imo, but yup, you never know.
Kounodori 2 - 8.5/10 , This season continues the everyday life of doctors after 2 years of time leap, Honestly I didn't cried expect for 2-3 instances, It wasn't as powerful as season 1 maybe because it explored the personal life of doctors more than mother-child relationship.

2. My Brother's Husband
Japanese Drama - 2018, 3 episodes
This drama is the best example of why Japanese dramas are way ahead in script writing skills compared to anyone else. If you simply look at its story, there's nothing! If you wish for a big climax, sorry, it doesn't have one! It's like some diary entry of a man who meets the boyfriend of his gay brother for the first time. Idk if they portrayed the character of White accurately because his English was bad and he was awkward all the time. Only the fact that he was blonde and white made him somewhat Canadian.
And now, why should everyone give it a try? Ok, so once I wrote a poem on this issue, which in short wanted to say that "We teach children all sorts of things, like about trees, animals, and insects. Even when these creatures are not like humans, children accept what we teach them and never question why these things exist; it gets normal for them. So why can't we teach them about LGBT rights from childhood? Like how our current generation finds it somewhat strange, it's not because they are enemies of those people; it's just that they weren't told that it was normal. They will find it harder to accept as they are no longer a child who's new to everything.
This drama exactly depicts what I wanted to convey! I recommend it a million times because it's so good!

3. MIU 404
Japanese Drama - 2020, 11 episodes
At first, I intended to watch it because Go Ayano, who is slowly sliding into my list of *Japanese men I wish were my neighbours*, but then it was so good that I couldn't help but binge watch the entire thing in 2 days ~ and it's like sporadic for me to watch something at 1x playback speed, but this drama had such an impressive storyline that I didn't want to miss anything, not only a good bromance but also a solid setup.
I am creating a list of Japanese buddy cop dramas [I might someday turn it into an article], and this one tops the list with a score of 9.5/10!

4. HiGH&LOW
Japanese Drama - 2015, 10 episodes
HOLYSHIT! OP bro OP ! F*ck the rest ! This is my afeem. Damn I can't use proper words rn. This is the sexiest craving of my entire drama journey. I can't care for the story , I am enslaved by the dope criminal world. If I can experience something in real , I would love to enter High&low but maybe I won't return alive XD! WHAT THE REAL HELL! I just don't want to ruin this memory so I am hesitant to start next season but my eyes , they want more of this. I replayed the action scenes over n over, COZ I SAID, IDC WHAT THE STORY WAS , the visuals were my target. However I can't deny that it have a pretty good premise and lit songs.
J SOUL BROTHER - MUGEN ROAD | White rascals| Rude boys | Daruma| Oya koukou |Lemura | Strawberry milk
-
5. HiGH&LOW SEASON 2
Japanese Drama - 2016, 10 episodes
Not as good as season1! Half of the drama is based on mugen flashbacks, which surprised me because I didn't expected it to be that way. Undoubtedly well written plot and execution. Action scenes and music is not comparable to season 1 but I am in total love with few episodes and the way things are going. SWORD will be united imo, and that will be the coolest thing. Damn I am falling hard for murayama and cobra , someone send help please. Also those mighty warriors suck although their theme song is cool lol.
Mighty warriors | Dream boys |
Ok so the movies I watched after this in order- HiGH&LOW The Movie (9/10) | HiGH&LOW: The Red Rain (9.5/10) |HiGH&LOW The Movie 2: END OF SKY (9.5/10) | HiGH&LOW The Movie 3: FINAL MISSION (8.5/10)
Many good songs but let me just link my fav "break into dark"

6. The Devil's Attorney
Japanese Drama - 2019, 8 episodes
I picked this drama solely based on its title (I have a fetish for Badass male leads XD). I wasn't disappointed, but surprisingly, it had something very powerful to deliver apart from the fancy title. A fight between you and your guilt Someone once said to me that guilt is the biggest punishment for any crime. You feel it yourself and can't escape from it even with any kind of punishment. first felt that this series was an episodic drama, but soon it felt like a whole tale with mind-blowing plot and acting. Ngl, I wouldn't have seen it merely based on the synopsis because it sounds so dull, but then (CRINGE ALERT): "When you really desire something from the heart and soul, all the universe conspires with you to achieve it" (i.e., hot badass male lead with no love interest XD)
-
7. Smoking
Japanese Drama - 2018, 12 episodes
Beautiful !
Despite heavy violence and disturbing events, it was beautiful! And you should definitely check out the end credits song *click* and this *song* from same singer. I planned to write a review but I am short with words for this gem. Our actors did a great job to make this of one the most sizzling jdrama.
-
8. Ikebukuro West Gate Park
Japanese Drama - 2000, 11 episodes
OMG yes yes yes ᕙ(: ˘ ∧ ˘ : )ᕗ! The bestttt, THE BEST!
I basically binged it in mere two days, which I haven't done after H&L !
It was after "strawberry on the shortcake" that I discovered Yosuke Kubozuka " https://i.postimg.cc/9XSKThzf/Screenshot-2022-03-24-23-54-16-36-40deb401b9ffe8e1df2f1cc5ba480b12.jpg " and looked for his other works, I ignored this one since he was not the Ml, but then somehow ended up starting it and TF YAS ???! This is my kinda drug. I can't even imagine the popularity it must have had at the time of its release. Packed with hilarious moments and dope vibe, it is one of a kind, and Idk if we have more of this type.
Aahhhh my heart ❤️❤️❤️, soon A business proposal gonna end too, and I will feel hella empty. -
9. Hokuto
Japanese Drama - 2017, 5 episodes
It was extremely hard to watch, and I couldn't stop myself from being scared. I thought I was brave enough to watch any kind of horrifying stuff, but it was a delusion! This drama has some strong writing and vigorous acting. I first saw the male lead in some high school-based romance drama where he was playing the role of a young vampire. It was pretty childish, so I dropped it, but I never imagined that I would come across him again in such a powerful drama. This makes me want to check out all of his works, and I even don't mind picking that vampire drama again.
How effective is your environment on your mental health? Can someone actually change? Is life always fair? The writer answered these questions in the most brilliant way possible. This won't be an easy watch for anyone who's intrigued by the plot, but it's like an addiction. I binge-watched it in two hours, and those were the most satisfying two hours out of all the time I have invested in any drama, to be honest.
-
10. Seirei no Moribito
Japanese Drama - 2016, 4 episodes
Do you need any blood relations to feel close to or protect each other? NO ! What's cooler than a female fighter who scares even a monster? NOthing . I think the characters overpowered the plot here. After watching Ayase Haruka in a few rom-coms, I never imagined she would pull off this role with perfection, or was that superior to perfection? Why didn't I rate it 10? Well, the character I was most invested in was the crazy king. I wanted to watch more aspects of his insanity.
-
11. Seirei no Moribito II
Japanese Drama - 2017, 9 episodes
So we have our grown up prince here, It feels like you saw him grow up in adversities and joy XD! My (-1) disappointment is the unnecessary filling in the story rather than focusing on balsa and chagum , but I also can't deny that it was very intriguing .
-
12. Seirei no Moribito III
Japanese Drama - 2017, 9 episodes
IT'S MOST WELL DONE LIVE ACTION ! final season han? I feel like crying.
BEAUTIFUL ( HOLDING BACK THE TEARS )
-
13. ROOKIES
Japanese Drama - 2008, 11 episodes
Can someone pass me Tissues? Aah what a heartfelt story, It stroked right on my weak point that I couldn't Get annoyed no matter how many quotes sensei said. (I kinda think too much of anything is harmful,अधिक प्रीत रस रंगा , अत्यधिक प्रीत रस भंगा google won't tell you the meaning, I will lol). If you are fan of gokusen then give it a try, I personally felt this story had much more potential than any delinquent drama. Biggest thing I love about jdramas are that they don't force the ending and let it end the natural way, this drama is perfect example of it, However we have a special movie after this.
Male lead was the cutest teacher you can wish for, He was so dazzling that you can't take your eyes off him, I had a similar math's teacher, Here Ml was working hard for his student's dreams and my sir was making us realize that this isn't end of our dreams, I miss him after watching this hahaha ! Hayato was so handsome damn *new crush spotted* . Excellent casting and perfect balance between humor and drama.
-
14. Sugarless
Japanese Drama - 2012, 12 episodes
This is a drug! Illegal drug! Not the best delinquent drama out there but quite addictive. It's so stupid (I mean ML is stupid ) but the dope fighting scenes and strong bromance is something you can't miss! Well what was the purpose of the story coz they were just fighting constantly? Others will think that they were playing around doing nothing productive and wasting their lives. But it's their world, their way of doing things, their way of hardwork and pride. It isn't the top notch yankee story but idk why I Kept on watching it. It's rather funny for a serious theme but I like what i like. Check out the super catchy ost *here*
ps- I saw this before high&low
-
15. Gourmet Detective Goro Akechi
Japanese Drama - 2020, 9 episodes
-
16. Boku no Yabai Tsuma
Japanese Drama - 2016, 9 episodes
I am Stunned by this drama! Tsutomu- san (Writer) is genius! This is actually his first work I have seen but I have two others in my ptw, I can't wait to watch them. It got a korean remake , they added some side stories and changed the pace, but I am in total love & respect for this show that Imo any remake can never replace it. It have 0 dragging parts and the music fits the theme. The wife was creepy but idk why I rooted for her from start to last, The husband was scumbag but idk why I found him cute in some parts, The police was doing their job but idk why I found them annoying lol. This drama couldn't be this powerful if those side characters weren't involved. I was totally hooked and I absolutely loved the ending. Female lead was spectacular and I think no one can play this role better than her. Totally recommended !!!
This will be funny drama when I rewatch it someday because Ik everyone is a fool expect the wife.
-
17. Gekokujo Juken
Japanese Drama - 2017, 10 episodes
I think it might be boring for the majority of viewers, but it's my personal preference. To be honest, I like motivational stories based on studies. I have seen my fair share of good and bad times (I will see more because I am still studying XD), so idk, it just always makes me emotional. A family full of middle school graduates works hard to make their daughter enter an elite school. The journey was so realistic, and they changed the character of family members over time, which wasn't very pleasant but sadly accurate depending on the situation. I have said it a few times, and let me say this again: Japanese dramas have some of the most real and beautiful endings. I loved it!
-
18. Tokusatsu Gagaga
Japanese Drama - 2019, 7 episodes
go go powerrrr rangers, kill the evil and save the earth.
This show is so precious, it deserve all the doting one can offer! I don't defend my favorite dramas but if you dare to say one word against this gem, sorry you are my biggest enemy.
-
19. Keiji Yugami
Japanese Drama - 2017, 10 episodes
They gave us a hazy ending + I am certain that there won't be a sequel.
Why you like to torment us or something han?
But this one was dramatic, quick and gripping! The comic timing was also very clever.
Watching these kind of dramas causes slumps tbh coz they are so good that you find everything else *meh*!
This is Highly recommended if you like Bromance [ofc] and slick writing. I mean it just took me 2 days to binge it! aaah, gonna miss the duo TT -
20. Dakara Watashi wa Oshimashita
Japanese Drama - 2019, 8 episodes
Since I was sleepy I didn't write anything to express what a gem this drama is! Our household doesn't permit us to do fangirling on a big scale for anything ( not only actors/idols) so this idol culture always made me curious. The amount of money people spend for their idols and the idols continuously trying to fight the fierce battle of popularity and dealing with sick fans, all this with ups and down made this what it is.
Also this ~

21. Kemono ni Narenai Watashitachi
Japanese Drama - 2018, 10 episodes
It's slower than the slowest drama you've ever seen. The poster is insanely misleading, and around 7-8 episodes, it gets boring but then picks up the story in the final 2 episodes. The sole reason to watch this drama was Yui-chan.
But it's very good. Trust me, it shows what a normal love/work life is like without adding fancy dialogue and cliche scenes. If your work is perfect, people will think that it's something normal from you, nothing special, without looking at the hard work you put into it to make it 10/10. If you commit a crime once, people assume that you can do it again without any problem, even if you pushed yourself to do it and now live in forever guilt. Even if you move on from a love relationship, you can't force yourself to hate him or her and stop showing normal human respect.
All these aspects and many more social issues were shown beautifully in just 10 episodes. One line synopsis of this drama could be, "After a tiring day at work and facing emotional challenges in everyday life, a group of people gather at a bar called "5 Tap" and talk their hearts out."
-
22. Tiger & Dragon
Japanese Drama - 2005, 11 episodes
9/12 , Sadly I haven't completed this one but it was so goooodd ~ I Curse My exams Interfering when I was Addictively Binging it, I put it on Hold for later and then idk why picked other dramas, I will definitely rewatch it after I forget some parts of the story but One thing's for sure, I will never forget it's end credit song, It will be forever stuck in my head. A yakuza have it's own way of storytelling which matches with the traditional japanese tales, HOW CLEVER !
-
23. Yasuko to Kenji
Japanese Drama - 2008, 10 episodes
Ok this was the cure of my drama slump, An old typical japanese comical drama but wait the concept is really cool trust me. A yakuza big brother who wants to protect his airhead lil sister, but she falls for the brother of his rival. what's more, the rival actually l....
ahhhh you can watch it and find it yourself. I totally love the concept of exaggerated acting if it suits the plot and character, some drama fails to do it properly and it gets annoying but yasuko to kenji is classic example of how you can act all silly and not annoy viewers,
-
24. Kishibe Rohan wa ugokanai
Japanese Drama - 2020, 3 episodes
Kishibe Rohan wa Ugokanai features some of the one-shots based on the manga series JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken. Kishibe Rohan is a manga writer, accompanied by a bright and bubbly editor, Izumi Kyoka. Kishibe Rohan can read anyone like a book and rewrite the pages of their life. He uses this ability to write realistic stories and takes pride in his work; he’ll follow just anything if it interests him, and his reasoning skills are unmatchable.
Comprising just three episodes, this drama will take you on a bizarre ride of mystifying events, plus it has a second season with more of a horror element to it.
-
25. Risou no Musuko
Japanese Drama - 2012, 10 episodes
What can I say about it, After siblings love, here's a weird story about a mother-son relationship. This was very funny and could have been *questionable* if not for the ending. A son loves his mom so much, That he denies the social norms and a mom who's constantly hoping that her son will pay her back, but luckily it's a journey about how they learn their lessons. It had delinquents so obviously I was biased but it touched many themes likes jealousy, insecurity, love, friendship, betrayal in the most funny way possible. I think these kinda dramas can't be made in present times, so we should cherish this form of art which included exaggerated acting and moral lessons.
-
26. Nigeru wa Haji da ga Yaku ni Tatsu
Japanese Drama - 2016, 11 episodes
Either dance with them at end of each episode or don't watch it .
I love this drama so much that i even wrote an article about it !
-
27. Reinoryokusha Odagiri Kyoko no Uso
Japanese Drama - 2010, 9 episodes
Just when I thought that I would be forever in a slump, I found this gem.
Overall it's not something very extraordinary but Idk why I was so hooked up. Maybe the unique concept of the con artist is what I loved. This might turn into a long discussion, but imo the concept of having faith is pure, It gives out hope to aimless people. You can have faith in a lie but as long it keeps you going on the right path, there's nothing wrong with it.
I also lost my phone while watching it so it was a hella boring time, IDK but I always sense bad luck around February. But luckily I had this drama accompanying me in the afternoon.
My love for Satomi is growing tho ~ -
28. Hajimete Koi wo Shita Hi ni Yomu Hanashi
Japanese Drama - 2019, 10 episodes
My high rating isn't for the plot but the sudden inspiration it gave me to work hard. So basically it's mostly about studies although it does feature an age gap romance between a teacher and student. I agree that the love story was cute but I gave more priority to the study techniques it taught. It's a mood lifter tbh.
Sick of second male lead? Coz be ready for a third male lead here XD . This drama is the reason behind my BIG crush on ryusie. His cotton candy like pink hairs made me hungry all the time (oh well this isn't a thirst comment i guess)
-
29. 30Sai made Doteida to Mahotsukai ni Narerurashi
Japanese Drama - 2020, 12 episodes
whatttt really? A BL can be this cute ? uff
Proudly presenting my first Bl, which is the fluffiest sweetest candy in whole universe ! I am sure that every bl lover have seen this amazing drama, so can we all agree that it's the best adaptation of how bl love stories are actually like. Btw i doubt if there exist someone like kurosawa.
-
30. Transit Girls
Japanese Drama - 2015, 8 episodes
After my first bl, Here's my first gl. I am not some expert of this genre but I can confidently say it was adorable. Ok so when I first read about them being step-sisters and then falling in love, I wasn't sure because I have seen this kinda straight kdrama which bored me to death. There was so much melodrama that I couldn't care for any character. I was hoping something similar from this but surprisingly it was very positive, I mean I can't name even one annoying character + it's a mini series *chef kiss* which gives it no time to drag the plot. The height difference between the couples was so cute that I want to watch more sweet moments.
-
31. Homeroom
Japanese Drama - 2020, 10 episodes
Episodes - 10
Warning - Moderate Adult content + stalking + psychopaths + forbidden relationshipsThe moment i read the outline of story , i knew this was for me, though i was expecting it to be creepy but i got a whole leveled up bombshell XD . But aside all weird af moments the twist and turns in the story were captivating . Yuki-chan can play any role, idk why they don't give him much of main roles, but at the same time they are utilizing his insane acting skills to produce the most difficult and cracked up characters.
-
32. Hotarugusa
Japanese Drama - 2019, 7 episodes
It's simple but graceful. Nana is hiding her identity of being the daughter of samurai, which could let viewers misunderstand that she will magically turn powerful at some point in the drama as given the story is revenge-based. But to my surprise, I loved how they managed Nana's character who's brave and honest but ain't suddenly powerful when stuck in tough situations.
Such a beautiful drama, I loved each aspect of it, all the good people Nana met in her journey of protecting what's dear to her, the slow & calm visuals, and the closure. I wish it was 5 mins longer and showed us more interaction between Nana & her master. -
33. Toumei na Yurikago
Japanese Drama - 2018, 10 episodes
My eyes are currently all red because this drama made me cry like hell in its second half! Now I really need to buy fake tears coz IDK if my eyes still have tears left after I filled countless buckets crying and blaming god as to why he made babies so cute and mothers so strong n weak at the same time. (╥ω╥`)
If I hadn't watched kounodori then I would have rated it 10/10 but in all honesty, the first half was really very weak/unsatisfactory idk what!
The female lead was fantastic, My weak memory but I think she's the one who also has a beautiful voice -
34. In The World Which Is Neither White Nor Black, Panda Laughs
Japanese Drama - 2020, 10 episodes
PANDAAAAAA~ XD lol , will give lil immature vibes But Idk why I loved it so much, don't read the synopsis imo, Just dive into it, witness our hot as hell ryusie fighting like a devil. The story tried hard to get itself into the category of most thrilling jdrama but failed, still the writers did a pretty decent job to hook you till last episode, it's emotional and confusing but worth a try
-
35. Gibo to Musume no Blues
Japanese Drama - 2018, 10 episodes
So Wholesome, Maybe I Have a bit different opinion about it as Imo it was very Unrealistic, In reality Idk if ever something like this will happen. But still like a dream land it was very enjoyable. It felt like I watched 2 stories in one drama, Part 1 was my favorite but that didn't made Part 2 any boring. Also Takeru satoh as Airhead baker lmao !
-
36. Tamiou
Japanese Drama - 2015, 8 episodes
HILARIOUS! Ok soul swap is nothing new but idk why it felt so refreshing here, The climax was dumb and ending wasn't concluded neatly but it's worth a try. You will also praise acting of our two main actors as they keep switching the roles and it doesn't look forced. I recommend it to lighten up the mood and learn few basics of Japanese politics.
-
37. Semi Otoko
Japanese Drama - 2019, 8 episodes
It's so cute, so strange , so cute, so strange, so cute, so strange...That I can't get enough. Other than interspecies romance , they have some slice of life stories packed in a sharehouse kinda apartment. I wasn't hoping for the kind of ending they made, kudos to the writers who can think this creative.
-
38. Mr. Nietzsche in the Convenience Store
Japanese Drama - 2016, 10 episodes
Hilraiousssssss ! Need no brain, A person like me who's IQ is in negative shouted aah this is senseless after every minute but I loved it like hell. The synopsis is misleading, A weird part timer joins the night shift of a store and it revolves around how he give no fucks and stay in his zone, If you think everyone else in this drama are normal, then t it's the biggest joke because they are crazier lmao. I think this is what an anime live action is like, How in animes, Overdramatic scenes seems normal? You will feel no different here. Ok but the stalker girl, who wrote her character? it was so good XD.
-
39. Sachiiro no One Room
Japanese Drama - 2018, 10 episodes
Episodes - 10
Warning - child abuseWas it stockholm syndrome? I guess NO ! The theme fits well with "selfish emotions" . It was yet another story with complex characters faking themeselves to escape from their traumas.
-
40. 100-manen no Onna-tachi
Japanese Drama - 2017, 12 episodes
MY COMMENT CAN BE A SPOILER
Warning - Don't attach yourself to any character. +
mild nudityI still don't believe that it got a happy ending! It was nowhere close to it.
-
41. The Count of Monte-Cristo: Great Revenge
Japanese Drama - 2018, 9 episodes
A GREAT TALE OF REVENGE! I dropped it once after watching 20 minutes of First episode. How all other revenge dramas start with MC plotting against the Bad guy and we slowly get the flashbacks of his motive, but here it was quite opposite, They started it from the very start so I felt no suspense of who are the real villains. But after craving for Dean, I decided to pick this again and I don't regret it. The way he execute his revenge may seem very unreal but the character backgrounds were so interesting and Dean was slaying his role. I want to recommend it 100 times more but sadly I suck at writing reviews so I will just add it to my custom list XD.
-
42. 3 Nen A Gumi: Ima kara Mina-san wa, Hitojichi Desu
Japanese Drama - 2019, 10 episodes
This drama is very idk weird? I absolutely Loved the Tension it created in First few eps, Then I started Connecting to characters, Climax was bit Bland & overdramatic for me but tells us about the most dangerous evil residing in our society rn. This a must watch for any jdrama/ Non- Jdrama fans.
-
43. The Confidence Man JP
Japanese Drama - 2018, 10 episodes
No romance although i shipped dako and boku. It's so genius that everyone should try this one. Every episode have a different story so you can watch it in parts. I rewatched it with my friend and tbh it was still entertaining. -
44. DIVER
Japanese Drama - 2020, 5 episodes
Craving for cold male lead ? Watch this but sorry he don't have a warm girl by his side, he will stay cold till end XD! I loved this short drama, it's based on a secret group who take on difficult mission and hide from both police and thieves. There isn't much backstory but it surely have this cool vibe!
-
45. Natsu no Koi wa Nijiiro ni Kagayaku
Japanese Drama - 2010, 10 episodes
-
46. Nijiiro Karute
Japanese Drama - 2021, 9 episodes
Not because I am a fan-girl, but genuinely, Takumi's character was the best (~ ̄³ ̄)~
He was like his name, Taiyo (?), radiant and warm ?!
This drama grows on you with each episode, all the characters had their personal issues but it didn't make them any gloomy or resentful.
It's actually like some fairy tale, where everyone's nice and cheerful! They gotta worry about nothing and it's all happy and prosperous [which trust me is not possible] but still, it feels good to watch dramas like these.
100% recommendedᕙ( : ˘ ∧ ˘ : )ᕗ -

51. Rental no Koi
Japanese Drama - 2017, 10 episodes
Rental girlfriend is an interesting topic for sure, I mean the place where I live, I can't possibly think for something like this to exist. This drama however is a cute love story which doesn't focus on how the rental world is like in japan. All episodes were cute & simple but what made me to rate it high was the CLIMAX. Oh god I wasn't expecting it at all. The writer sure fooled us. Aaah it was adorable and too funny.
-
52. Raise de wa Chanto Shimasu
Japanese Drama - 2020, 12 episodes
Episodes - 12
Note- I have talked about this drama in my article, check on my pf.
well, apart from things i said in my article i can only say that it was an outstanding drama with tons of raw emotions + realization of self happiness without being jailed by the society.
there's no romance -
53. Aku no Hadou
Japanese Drama - 2019, 5 episodes
Episodes - 5
Like any thriller/mystery drama it started off well with tons of suspense but the moment i fell in love was (spoiler-)
when he saw the reality of that girl next door and smiled at her ending.(gosh that moment got me freaking out coz he wasn't the psycho but suddenly felt like he was ) -
54. Midnight Runner
Japanese Drama - 2020, 10 episodes
I was hesitating to watch this drama because it's a remake of the korean movie "Midnight runners", I have a bad habit of going through the comment section of every drama i plan to see and I spotted many comments comparing it with original story. Some were positive but mostly They were badmouthing about it. So I kept it on hold because I Knew that someday I will watch it no matter what anyone says just to hear the sexiest ever voice of sho hirano.
Ok so unexpectedly It was so good that i am regretting watching it late and I even doubt if the parent story had this much story elements since synopsis said that kmovie was based on a single kidnapping case. But here we get so many cases, some lame - some thrilling , I will say that the start is little weak but the chemistry between male leads is quick and solid. Episode 5 was my favorite, Both comically and plot-wise. Ending was A bit emotional for me because I seriously got attached to the duo and the final twist damn! Very Creative !!!

55. Cinderella Formula
Japanese Drama - 2016, 8 episodes
Be ready with a box of tissues ! I don't know why it's called Cinderella formula , at first I thought that it's a age gap romance between a teacher and student but I was wrong. It's my favorite trope, " weak student working hard and proving everyone else wrong" . Idk why I enjoy dramas like this so much! Well this have our yuki-chan as love interest of fl so yeah that's a reason too.

56. Unsung Cinderella: Byoin Yakuzaishi no Shohosen
Japanese Drama - 2020, 11 episodes
"Everyone is living an important life outside the hospital" is what they said in each episode after introducing every patient & I LOVED IT!
Ishiharaaaa Satomiiiiii, whyyy sooo damnn attractive? Even in uniform!
I always keep expecting and get disappointed because no medical drama can even come this ? close to what kounodori was! However, it showed me something I never knew was this important and worked behind our backs to make our life easy! * Jdrama supremacy*
+0.5 points (not adding in overall ratings) for those scenes at the end. I was hesitant to watch it coz I dropped "unnatural & radiation house after the first ep coz those medical terms were too much for me.
But this one was easygoing n smooth ( ofc depressing in some terminal illness eps).
Overall ~ I loveeee satomi and will watch anything she's in. -
57. Dragon Zakura
Japanese Drama - 2005, 11 episodes
Don't watch it! It have the worst eng subs as it was originally subbed in French and someone translated it. But still I somehow watched it and cried like a baby because it's myyyy favvvv genre. Dragon zakura not only tell us about success but also teaches us to handle failure. Hard work will pay up but not always still one should never loose hope:)
-
58. Tsubaki Bunguten
Japanese Drama - 2017, 8 episodes
Simple and beautiful!
But I want to address something that made me dislike this drama a bit, I once shared an Indian movie "Dangal" with a friend on MDL, and she told me something in her review that I or anyone else around me never pointed out!
Dangal tells a story of a father whose dream is to win a gold medal for India in wrestling, he puts his daughters through hard training and extreme routine. My friend said, "He acted selfishly and didn't notice that the daughters were suffering all the time, but as later daughters found their love for wrestling, it didn't matter much."
This story is precisely the same, I believe in forgiveness, but torturing yourself with a pang of guilt you don't deserve is something I will never do to myself. -
59. 4-punkan no Marigold
Japanese Drama - 2019, 10 episodes
-
60. Love Shuffle
Japanese Drama - 2009, 10 episodes
Episodes- 10

This one can be easily called the "old gold". The story was surprising and chemistry between all the leads were insane.
I liked how the neighbors of same floor said " I am home" & "Welcome back".

61. Innocence: Enzai Bengoshi
Japanese Drama - 2019, 10 episodes
-
62. Uso no Sensou
Japanese Drama - 2017, 10 episodes
I was genuinely afraid that the revenge will turn out so ugly that I won't be able to love ML even when he was cool af. But gladly it's a perfect revenge drama. Nothing was exaggerated here, I mean this can happen in real world and nothing will be called unusual. They were pretty honest about the whole motive from start and our con artist wasn't some perfect criminal. I liked the balance between the run and chase. At some point it was turning a love story but HASHhhh~ It remained true to what it was. I can only say one thing. "Revenge is my favorite genre"

63. Nagi no Oitoma

66. Channel wa Sonomama!!
Japanese Drama - 2019, 5 episodes
What a cute little drama! (●'▽'●)ゝOk so here's a lil story from my childhood ~
Every night all of our family members use to watch a special program on news channel which featured mysterious phenomenon all over the world, major historic events and related stuffs! I got impressed by the anchor and decided to become a reporter XD! I shared this with someone and they said that I must have good literary skills with effective clear speech and I should try taking part in the independence day event. So I went for it but my teachers told me that my hindi have an accent and would not sound good on a mic, I should try giving speech in English instead which I didn't wanted because That way I had to learn the speech instead of freely speaking my mind. I felt sad but then my father told me that the anchor I liked was from our state and had slight accent too but his confidence overshadowed it.
Well even if i wanted to try hard my teachers didn't approved of it! Later in higher classes I started writing content for debate, initially for others but got rigid that "only i will speak what I write and i will write in hindi only"! So they sent me for state level competition and I won the second prize, it boosted my teachers confidence in me and they sent me to speak in our parliament on behalf of our school with 7 other student, among us seven only I had my speech in hindi! So ya idk how much it relates to this drama but it reminded me of it!
Btw I hope they make a season two with some romace in it hahah! -

72. Death Note
Japanese Drama - 2015, 11 episodes
Episodes- 11
Note - I haven't seen the anime or read the manga.
Till the end you can't judge who's gonna win! with Kento yamakazi's dramas/movies i had some terrible experiences but here seeing him as L was like a turning point . He was so charming with his role. Also I had a great laugh with those graphic characters.
another note - i completed the anime , anime was better :)
-
73. Hamura Akira: Sekai de Mottemo Funna Tantei
Japanese Drama - 2020, 7 episodes
This drama is a must watch for those who stan cool mysterious characters. I absolutely loved the female lead's savageness, She lacked emotions and was brave af. The aesthetic dark setting of crime thriller was on point. It wasn't a perfect score drama for few reasons, firstly they didn't completed the story they picked in initial episodes and the chemistry they built between ml and fl was left on viewers to form opinion on ! A detective who always end up in some dangerous situation will solve the most unusual cases.
-
74. 49
Japanese Drama - 2013, 11 episodes
I didn't expected it to be so good tbh. It's filled with positive vibes and it can be *cough* questionable lol. I really loved it. I mean it's not something deep or serious and everything was happening very smoothly. The male actor is so attractive, I mean it! I stan chicken basket. Hahahah
So basically after an accident , father enters his son's body for 49 days and change the whole atmosphere of his life but the question lies that what about the son and his opinions? This drama portrays this difference in personalities in the most satisfying way. One sad thing is , this drama don't have proper subs TT!
-
75. Ouroboros
Japanese Drama - 2015, 10 episodes
After 3 episodes I felt like lets drop this, this isn't according to my taste but that damn preview of next episode kept me hanging.
Okay so some suspenseful flashbacks , playful cop who's sexy at times, hottest yakuza, revenge, bromance ~ what else will i need to fall in love. I absolutely loved the ending, It might have the best ending of all dramas listed here .
-
76. My Story Is Long
Japanese Drama - 2019, 10 episodes
I HAVE A MAJOR CRUSH ON TOMA ! I JUST CAN'T HELP BUT FALL IN LOVE WHENEVER HE'S ON SCREEN.
ok so this drama is a daily sneak peek into life of a man who don't have any motivation to work. He have created a comfort zone for himself and use his speaking skills as a shield to prevent anyone to interfere. His sister is trying hard to get him on his feets but in turn She's the one receiving help , at some point you will feel frustrated that just work already but he won't lol. Jokes aside but you can't really force yourself for something you are not ready, right? Important things take time! The ending was the warmest scene I have seen till date, you can't help but cry.
-
77. Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge
Japanese Drama - 2010, 10 episodes

Japanese Drama - 2015, 8 episodes
Very Interesting story with weak ending! A samurai who have his unique Ideals is killed in the past and get Transported to the modern day Japan. The story revolve around how he perceives things now. I loved the humor and quirky Characters. The ending was very random and didn't concluded many things. I can rewatch it someday with my kids lmaooooooo !

84. Itsuka, Nemuri Ni Tsuku Hi
Japanese Drama - 2019, 6 episodes
We get a hot grim reaper and an emotional story of life & regrets. I haven't seen many fantasy based jdrama, I wasn't sure about this one because the synopsis sounds like it's something depressing, well in a way yes, but wait for the twist, it's beautiful and probably you can't hold back your tears. I simply loved it, It's fast paced, have other mini stories apart from main tale and cute for most of the part.

Japanese Drama - 2020, 8 episodes
Well Here's your wtf drama! Watch it and go wtf lol. I love bromance and this drama was perfect cure of my cravings. I loved the nonsensical climax XD. Totally recommended.
-
96. Juuyou Sankounin Tantei
Japanese Drama - 2017, 8 episodes
People can misunderstand it as a detective drama and later be disappointed by all the silly cases. I AM PEOPLE; I WAS DISAPPOINTED. But after a few episodes, I actually started enjoying the set-up of how our male lead becomes the main witness again and again and ends up being suspected as the culprit.
"It was funny, if not thrilling."
-
97. FAKE MOTION: Takkyu no Osho
Japanese Drama - 2020, 8 episodes
I like it for this song "click" .
It's in my workout playlist since forever now . Drama was cool too, I mean nothing serious, just a youth drama filled with hot boys and rivalry. Well it would have been a disaster with even a single female character because I can't stand reverse harem .

I agree with them while marking it as my guilty pleasure, There's no story and the character development is beyond the negative infinity. (don't dm me to ask what's that coz i suck in maths) but then, there's this *click* .
Wanna rant about how weird the fl was? contact here "your friendly neighbor who like hot boys aehsaas"

100. Tokyo Vampire Hotel
Japanese Drama - 2017, 10 episodes
Although I have rated it highly, I dare not watch something like this, so I will just leave it here. It has many red flag scenes, and the amount of time they raped the characters is beyond counting. I submitted an upgraded synopsis, but it was rejected. Personally, I think the story is very confusing, and the little summary we get makes no sense at all. So I will write a short explanation here.
The Dracula clan is captured by neo-vampires, who are like super vampires and immune to Christian crosses. They run a hotel that is connected to every part of the world. A prophecy is made that children who are born when the planets align as a cross will possess great powers and save the Dracula clan. Three children are born, but only one stays alive till the day of the big event.
While the Dracula clan is chasing the girl of prophecy with the help of an ordinary Japanese student, K, Neo vampires are collecting people in their hotel and announcing that anyone who stays there and helps them provide blood will be saved because the outside world is soon going to be destroyed.
