1. Enrique Geum. He was really funny, sweet, and perfect! You'll really enjoy his carefree personality.
2. None of Go Dok Mi's heart's contenders were arrogant jerks, as you usually see in dramas.
3. The secondary characters like Watanabe, the girl with the under eye bags, Dong Hoon, etc. They're all really unique and so funny. There was also a secondary couple that I really liked. Don't want to spoil it, but I'll just say it involved Dong Hoon.
4. The hilarious scenes. I've never laughed out loud so much for a drama! You've got falsetto battles, "mafia" scenes, really bad spanish accents, etc.
5. The OST was perfect. It had J Rabbit, one of my favorite singers, and so many cute songs. Plus, the sound effects were really good!
And here is why you might doubt watching it:
1. Go Dok Mi. She was okay for the first few episodes, but then she began to get annoying. She was a Mary Sue: a character that's a perfect flower that bends with the wind, and that does no harm, but is attacked by everyone. I only really liked Dok Mi in the last episode.
2. The unnecessary, annoying drama that begun around episode 9 (I think). I wish the plot could've developed better, because it started out SO good. Those episodes made me feel as if the writers were dragging out this drama too much.
The wonderful last episode and the pros of this drama are what made me give it a 10. If you want to watch FBND, don't begin with such high expectations, that's my only advice :)

First of all, I am now noticing a pattern in the series as I have watched all of them, though they are called "Pretty Boy" and hey, who can say you don't see enough pretty here, but has anyone also caught him/herself on the thought that the characters crated for these series seem very real? I mean, forgetting about the bubbly front, there were real people, real feeling, real problems, and I like it so much, that it feels real watching these characters. I like characters that have depth, and the series have never failed to give me the characters. And though at first you may thing Enrique is the most funny, cute and bubbly character you could ever see, throughout the series he will show you so much humanity, so much sadness, so many unforgettable words... Though Dok-Mi may seem the girl who has closed herself and hasn't thought about her life ever since, will show you so much smile, so much strength, so much pain that she has been through and how much she grows by the end of the series, how much she changes Enrique and changes herself...
As the drama is mostly a comedy, I thought it is important to note that you'll find here not only comedy but also real characters who will make you feel for them, which I really appreciate.
This was the 3rd drama I was watching with Park Shin-Hye, and she again proved her abilities, I adore the girl.
Yoo Si-Yoon was just adorable as puppy-panda Enrique, I hope to watch other things with him.
Music was, like the drama, cute and calm. I really like the slow piece during the sad parts, and Park Shin-Hye's song, so alike her character and warm to my heart.

Yoon Shi Yoon and Park Shin Hye make an adorable pairing, probably due a lot to Yoon Shi Yoon (who is such an adorable, speed-talking puppy in this show). He balances the mischievous and insightful sides of his character, while Park Shin Hye does well as the shy and withdrawn heroine who grows out of her shell. I love the way all the characters enter each other's lives to challenge their assumptions and perceptions for the better. This is a nice ensemble cast, but not exactly the best out there.
Kim Ji Hoon has entered my list of ahjusshi hotties to look out for - his character Jin Rak is so endearing. Your heart just breaks a little for me every time he plays the better man and tries to put Dok Mi first, but unfortunately you just know he's the type who can never get the girl.
The conflict in the last few episodes felt a little draggy and weighed the show down a little for me, but I still appreciate the way the characters were written.

Now, I expected a lot of cute gooey marshmallow moments in the Flower Boy Next door.
Why?
1. The name itself is built for sugary chocolatey goodness.
2. The lead characters looked like all flowery and sugary
3. The previews gave the distinct impression of lurve and cute moments
Did I get what I expected? Sadly, buckets of tears sadly, the is NO.
Go Dok Mi was eccentric, unique... depressed, lonely and gloomy and she liked it! I enjoyed that difference and style. Enrique was the complete opposite… loud proud fun and constantly happy. I enjoyed that too.
I felt that with such wonderful character profiles, and such enthusiastic actors… things would have just been absolute fireworks and passion and fun. This was not to be.
Enrique’s talkative loud self became too harsh on the ears and eyes. Go Dok Mi didn’t seem to mature/grow….. Jin Rak’s love story lingered to the point of ripping my sister’s eyeballs out from irritation (some times you have to know when to give up on a gal, especially if her eyes start sparkling at the mention and sight of another guy) and Cha Do Hwi was such an ANNOYING fly that I just wanted to SWAT her from the get go.
(And what was the point of bringing in Watanabe if he created Zero Laughs??)
Their (Enrique and Dok Mi) relationship didn’t seem to grow well either. There were moments (a LOT) where Enrique seemed to be doing all the work, and the brief time Dok Mi tried (like TWICE maximum, if even that) seemed like there was zero emotion/effort in it.
Aside from these complaints- it was alright to watch and just a bit of fluff to pass away the time. Nothing too exciting, with some fun bits thrown in for laughs (look out for the webtoon editor, she is AWESOME, and because of this, I’ve added an extra thumbs up), but nothing I’d recommend to watch for a second time, and certainly not a must see of 2013... unless you wanna fastforward through the episodes and find our lovely Webtoon Editor.

The actors are out of this world. I am a fan of Park Shin Hye. I thought she depicted the character's pain and ambivalence perfectly. Then there is the man that pulls her into the world with his quirky charm. I don't know what other actor could pull off this over the top cuteness as well as Yoon Shi Yoon. I was so excited to see Kim Ji Hoon back in dramas!!! His portrayal of Oh Jin Rak/Oh Jae Won was well done.
The other actors were also cute. I enjoyed the couple of the webtoon manager, Kim Seul Gi and Oh Don Hoo, Go Kyung Pyo the best. They were just too cute. The up and coming Japanese actor, Kouki Mizuta also did well, but there was little screen time for him, so I'm not sure how he will do in the future.
The music was ok...nothing stands out.
I probably won't rewatch this.
I definitely think that if you enjoy romance, then you should watch this.

Park Shin Hye is one of my favorite actresses and she did not disappoint me, I've seen her play really happy and upbeat characters and for her to play a character like Go Dok Mi was a very convincing transition.
The comedy is absolutely hilarious, and the chemistry between Enrique(Yoon Shi Yoon) and Go Dok Mi is spectacular, I was rooting for them all the way.
I do have to admit it get a bit draggy towards the end, but if you bear with it you'll see this is a great drama. I've also read many times that Go Dok Mi's character is too passive, but her character does develop into more later episodes, so please give her a chance.
I will definitely re-watch this drama in the future to get some good laughs and just to be able to see the wonderful chemistry between the two main characters.

At first I really like the storyline and I love the main cast so I figured this had to be good...
Unfortunately it did not live up to my expectations. I don't know if it was because of the lack of chemistry between the lead couple or just the fact that I got tired of hearing one cheesy line after another but I have to say I did not get into it.
Simple as that: the story is pretty good but I just could not feel any of what was going on in the romance.
The cast is good, the supporting roles too, the music is pretty, the script is full of beautiful declarations and confessions but there are no exiting situations that gets your heart jumping just because of the events and make you want to scream "Kyaaaa" very loudly (like the infamous sit-up scene in Secret Garden, the "Caught in my room" scene in Itazura Na kiss or the whole living together part while disguised as a boy of HanaKimi).
I guess it depends what kind of romantic drama you like but in my case, actions speak louder than words and love declarations are just not enough to get me going crazy for a drama.
So I would say it is a good distraction but far from being a roller-coster for my heart which is usually what I look for in rom/com dramas. Only my opinion of course.

Flower Boy Next Door is all about unrequited love triangles, and stalkers. Almost every character harbors a one-sided crush for another character. At the center is Go Dok Mi. She is a super emo recluse, who I had a very hard time rooting for, or liking. Eventually we learn about the event that traumatized her, and made her so distrusting of people, but it never quite excused her selfish behavior for me.
For some reason, in spite of her personality, she has two men fighting to win her affection. One is the equally emo Oh Jin Rak, who has been obsessed with her for years. The other is the extremely hyper, über cute, and sometimes annoying Enrique played by Yoon Shi Yoon. Yoon Shi Yoon is the main reason I watched this drama, and he was the highlight for me. He is the glue that holds this KDrama together.
The supporting cast was also pretty entertaining, particularly the the web-toon director and Dong Hoon (my favorite couple), though I am not sure what purpose Chef Watanabe actually served. The character Cha Do Hwi was extremely annoying, so she did a great job. I gave the cast a 7, because I could not find any fault with the acting. They did their best with what they had, which was not much.
The main downfall of this drama is the story, or lack thereof. The love triangles initially were interesting but became predictable, and boring, quickly. Even the big reveal about Dok Mi's past started to annoy me after a while. I wanted to yell "get over it" at the screen so many times. I get that it was a really bad thing for her, but they relied on flashing back to that story a bit too much. Then they tried to throw in a pitiful storyline about video game obsessed fans, but it was too ridiculous to be believed.
Although this is mainly a romance, the main couple was less interesting as time went on. It seemed like such a one-sided relationship. Watching Enrique try to cheer up Dok Mi every episode was really frustrating, and they didn't have an exciting chemistry either. It was a struggle to watch the final episodes. They just seemed to stretch out what was already going to be the obvious conclusion. The cheesy expressions of love didn't help either. At the end they tried to tie up the love lives of each character, and even that was super cheesy and predictable. Again, what was the point of Watanabe?
Overall, I did not like this drama enough to recommend it to anyone. I guess huge fans of the actors will be entertained enough to justify the bad plot. It really was a great start in my opinion, but once the couples became clear, the writer apparently had no clue what to do next. If you think you'll like seeing Park Shin Hye and Kim Ji Hoon play two emotionally detached characters who wax poetic about love, then maybe you'll like this more than I did. If Yoon Shi Yoon's smile is all the entertainment you need, then by all means watch this. I barely made it through the first time, so rewatching this is not an option. Maybe I'd youtube a cute Enrique moment, but that's about it.
For everyone else, don't believe the hype. I'll just pass the advice that I should have heeded myself "don't waste 16 hours of your life".

First of all, I thought I wouldn't like it and I didn't even want to watch it, but I didn't have anything better to do. And I'm glad I did.
I really liked it!
Seeing comments, it looks like people really love this drama or reeeeally hate it.
The story: was new. I've never see a drama about a shut-in's love. The script was really good and I enjoyed it.
Eventhough, I have to say that you won't like it if you like dramas with a lot of events. Nothing really happens, characters talk a lot, go round and round. But as I said earlier, dialogs are great so it wasn't frustrating.
I think that's the reason why people love or hate it. It's the kind of drama you watch as a distraction.
The actors : Park Shin Hye was really great, she didn't have her usual pitiful crying face. Yoon shi Yoon was really cute and broke my heart a couple of times with his red eyes. His acting was a bit over the top sometimes but not exaggerated. He's really good when he's acting serious or angry, I was impressed.
I think I've never laughed so much watching a drama. Almost every episode made me laugh out loud. Kim Ji Hoo is the best at comedy.
The only one I didn't like was Park Soo Jin. That's my opinion but I find her odious, really not my type.
Music : I don't remember anything, but a couple of songs were good. Maybe not enough music?
Rewatch value : I like rewatching but I don't thing I'll rewatch it. Maybe in a couple of years...
Overall : this drama is part of the flower boy serie. Of course, there's flower boys, cuteness overload, crying, misunderstandings, love triangle(rectangle, pentagon, hexagon). But strangely enough, they wrote it in a way that wasn't boring or frustrating: it's worth it. It's not the best drama ever, but it's not a bad drama.
Give it a try if you're hesitating! You'll be hooked right away!
If you don't like flower boys, don't watch it. But who doesn't like it? ;)

The story doesn't let you get bored at all. There is not a part where you say "I'm getting tired of this" or "I'm gonna stop watching" because it keeps going in a very steady pace.
The music was great, I didn't find a moment where it felt out of place. Well actually at first you do because you're just beginning the drama but you'll learn that the music matches the scene perfectly.
The cast was awesome. Though there are some people that disagree and say that there was no chemistry in a scene. But honestly it was on purpose. (read the synopsis)
Overall I would definitely rewatch this because IT GAVE ME THE FEELS MAN.
