This drama has both its pro's and it's cons. The cons being the loops in the plot, the "unnecessary" drama and dare I say, the acting from the main leads who can sometimes come off as either annoying or "what is that face you're making!?" (Though I have to say I have to give Tseng Pets her cred for rocking that ugly bowlcut and old grandma getup/toe socks throughout the entire series while still acting out Xiao Xi in a way that was realistic and fun.)
The story starts off really well and builds nicely towards the romance. For all the romantic drama lovers, if you are like you me, (a crazy fool for cute romantic skinship and words) you will definitely enjoy the romance that takes off here. While the beginning and the romance makes for the beginnings of a good drama, the downfall comes near the end where you may or may not feel content with the ending.
While this drama doesn't exactly hit right out of the park, it is still a good watch and I'd recommend this show to anyone who is looking for something to watch. There is humor, romance and action all in one. This drama also shows the growth of Ming Xiao Xi as she tries to find her place in a new environment and adjust to the blissfulness and sourness of love. This isn't the type of drama you would take seriously, seeing as there are many similarities here with Boys Over Flowers, however what makes this series stands out is the main heroine Ming Xiao Xi and her great resilience to overcome different obstacles that occurs in her life and through her special relationship with the 3 princes of Gaung Yu.
Overall I give this drama an 8.0 for making me the crazy drama fangirl I am for skipping study sessions just to watch each episode as it was released. The music was excellent here (The Intro is hella addicting and the ending music is my most favorite song from this OST [Sung by Pets Tseng]]) and this is a drama I can say for certain you will want to re-watch.

The acting here was one of a kind. The actors appeared to have great chemistry and Park Bo Young delivers another great role as the shy/timid Na Bong Sung and my favorite loud/pervy Soon Ae! I found her actions to be very alike to Kim Seul Gi's (Soon Ae) acting style which was very impressive! Another great performance was of Jo Jung Suk (Chef Seon Woo) and Im Joo Hwan who plays Officer Choi!
If I were to re watch this show, I'd only spend it on the moments of romance. This drama delivers in the Romance department and also talks about a certain topic that isn't really talked about in drama land. These 16 episodes went by really quickly for me. I have to say I was really fond of episode 15, which really redeemed the entire series (in my opinion of course). Depending on whose team you're supporting, you'll find yourself wrapped into the love triangle. Overall, I give this drama an 8 based solely on the acting.
If you ever see a 10 for acting, then you know it's a must watch!

The acting was pretty decent. Eunji as Kang Yeon Doo felt natural and she was funny and cute in her own way. The lead male Lee Won Gun as Kim Yeol was a particular character you either liked or disliked. (Though it's hard to dislike him when his smile melts your heart like a puppy.) The promising actor Ji Soo as Seo Ha Joon also felt natural and quickly became my favorite character of the show. Though I won't say the acting was bad, it was easy to tolerate with a good cast with good chemistry.
The story line starts off really nice and the plot thickens as the issues spring up. My only complaint has to be towards the ending of the drama where I felt some of the issues were unresolved. The drama ends up pretty nicely but still leaves more to be desired. And while the whole bullying, school corruption, love triangle thing becomes typically cliched in dramaland, Cheer Up offers a refreshing take of youth enduring and overcoming obstacles and making friendships.
What I like about this drama is that it's easy going and easy to follow. The story doesn't drag and flows nicely. The cute and funny moments make for a light hearted watch. I would recommend this drama, despite it's minor flaws.

The cast did a pretty good job with this plot even though sometimes the main female actress seemed inconsistent. However I found actor Kim Jae Wook as "Lee Hyun Joo" refreshing to watch. (Even if he didn't have many speaking parts.)He was definitely the character I anticipated to see more of as the episodes went by.
Overall everything seemed pretty decent even though the ending I could have lived without.

The Gentleman and the Lady

A Love Story with a lot of family drama.
The appeal of older man/younger relationships being told for dramas may not be your cup of tea but Young Lady and Gentlemen follows the story of Park Dan Dan and Lee YoungGuk's trivial and complicated love. In between there you have a list of family drama that just seems to never end. What I became most frustrated with in this drama was the story telling. The writers came up hearth breaking situations that didn't actually depict relatable emotions. There were a lot of unnecessary anger and frustration with character developments, character relationships and even plots that just made no sense. What started off promising and to a good start eventually became a train wreck. The most controversial piece about this drama was the relationship between Park Dan Dan and her father who had practically raised her after his wife abandoned them. He was very over protective of his daughter and went out of his way to disregarded the life that she practically made for herself after leaving home. The romance in the drama bloomed for almost everyone but Park Dan Dan and YoungGuk which really delayed story progression over time. Yet the moments when we found the leads together always wanted us craving more. There were times in this drama that really made it painful to watch because of the story taking a "twist" that shouldn't have ever existed. All in all I could understand the story that the writers were trying to relay, I just think the writers did a bad job relaying them. Overall, this drama did keep me coming back week after week and I think it was mainly due to the main leads interest into one another. I craved for more romantic scenes and more deepening conversations about Young Guk's past/Dan Dan's past and their relationship actually blooming through the midst of chaotic family drama but unfortunately we didn't get that. I don't think I'll re-watch this drama.
