this drama is not like traditional chinese dramas, all the extra bling was just weird plus the plot was just to complicated. it was DNF but i did like the cast and acting was wonderful, hated the costumes, the story was just stupid like it came out a childrens story book :( novoland was another similar chinese drama aired in 2016 but that one was slightly better, all these fantasy ones are just plain weird tho. i like the traditional chinese ghost and fairy/fox demon stories much more or historical ones:) also legend of the white snake is amazing and demon girl

anyway just dont understand why this one was so popular, it was just an ok drama

beautiful drama, love the plot and scenery! im on ep 43 now so i still have 4 more left to watch but honestly im fine with xiao lian choosing either guy, i just love the romance in the story plus the political fighting

also the actor and actresses are gorgeous, the acting is pretty good, just feel like the main actress doesn't have enough experience so her acting is't as amazing as others but its still a pretty emotional drama

also the dude potraying yuwen yong is like 6'3 while the main actress is only 5'5 the height difference looked kinda weird throughout the whole drama :P

super sweet story

its a great fluff romance if you're looking for one, the plot is okay, pretty typical and the FL has an "allergy" to tears so its a bit unique and unrealistic but overall, i really did like the story. the chemistry is off the charts but you hafta watch about thru about one-third of the way to get to the romantic scenes. i'm currently at ep 28 so i don't know the ending yet.

the acting is amazing, the actors/actresses were all very realistic and i enjoyed pretty much all the episodes. some of the scenes were so hilarious though and i laughed so much. the second ML is kinda pitiful tho and i skipped a lot of the xu li/xiao chuan (other couple) scenes bcuz i loved the main couple so much. a lot of the music was in sung in English and although i really liked the songs, the grammatical errors really annoyed me. still liked the songs tho.

very enjoyable drama and would rewatch if i was feeling it. kinda reminds of go go squid, another romantic comedy

the best word to describe this would be beautiful, theres nothing to not love about this except for the fact that chinese dramas are always so sad :( also i love that they didn't use filters and makeup to cover up liu shi shi's skin when she had a bit of acne, it looks way more natural like that. i love the music too!!! still listen to it 10 years later hahaha, im obsessed with angsty stories like this but most of the plot and people's motives seemed very reasonable and logical to me compared to a lot of the other dumb time travel dramas i've seen recently. i like how they placed lots of emphasis on the ancient societal views and maertai ruoxi's unique beliefs and values in that setting.
