UNEXPECTED DRAMA! DON'T MISSED OUT!

So I'm here reviewing for a web drama which I've never done that previously but I got to be honest here because it's really a great drama to satisfy our guilty pleasure!

Why I say this drama is good because it's story plot touches a lot on areas where mainstream dramas can never air on due to TV regulations. This is what I truly call a female centric story plot because the princess knows when to act "dumb" while waiting for her chance to bring the villain down. She doesn't rely on anyone and knows when to tease the ML and when to be serious. AND not to forget both the main leads' real good looks though the FL is kinda heavy on her makeup but it's fine with me!

But as it is a web drama, the quality of presentation is not as professionally done as compared to the mainstream ones and some of the supporting actors do need improvements on their acting as it is really awkward/unnatural.

Overall, a good drama that you shouldn't missed out on as it is really worth watching~ Definitely a big improvement for story quality in terms of details, line plots, scenery and decent outfits from past web dramas but not yet as professionally produced as mainstream idol dramas.

Don't be fooled by the hate/low rating reviews!!!

Hmm I finished the drama just today after binge watching for 3~4 days and honestly I really don't understand why are people criticizing this drama for being bad because the story was really fine for me. I was quite shocked at how many people actually said mean stuff and criticized the story like even those so called "drama reviewers" jumped on the bandwagon to add fuel to even more hate on the story...

Initially, I was really hesitant about watching since there was so many bad reviews about them thinking there must be big issues with the drama content. But I was so wrong! Though the drama has really predictable plots and odd comical moments, it didn't turn out as a disappointment to be very honest.

What I'm relieved about is that Krystal's acting here has became much natural and not so much rigidness but obviously she still has a lot to improve on. For Yoo In Young's character, I very much expected her character will progressed in this manner from a "very humble/lovable person to filled with jealousy kind of growth" but I really wished they didn't make her go in that direction. Kim Jae Wook definitely has no problems with his acting just that there is a lack of charm to his character...

I saw some said that they felt underwhelmed by the plot twist but really it was predictable to me since it's not full on suspense/thriller drama. The chemistry here is quite ok but not the best~ Well I mean what's important is all things end well and moving on. Recommended for people who needs some lighthearted dramas :)

Don't worry about the trashy Chinese version because this Thai remake is made with care and love!

This Thai version really deserved the praise and it's really one of the best versions that I've seen! I really respect the production crew's effort and all the hard work to make the original manga version closer towards the Thai culture and their environment. This version definitely has the best mix of all the versions adapted, they really made good use of the iconic/significant scenes and removed the unnecessary ones.

At first, when I saw the casts I was honestly quite scared it will turned like the recent Chinese remake with only empty shell good looks but amateurish/bad acting... But this version really didn't disappoint me and in fact it has became one of the dramas I will rewatch again!

To be very honest, this version found the perfect actress as the FL. Her acting wasn't annoying at all and it's a very fortunate thing since this female character does has a lot of arguments and frustration scenes to deliver which the FL in the Korean and Chinese adaptation definitely failed to deliver the correct way of expressing emotions...

IF I really need to nitpick, I would say the plot for the fiancée part could have been better in terms of the process. To which my favourite version for this part is still the Korean one where the fiancee is very clear minded and didn't go all blinded by love like this version.

Overall, I urge everyone who are into the F4 story please watch because you won't regret it! Really the best and I'm not over exaggerating just cuz of good looks but because they really made the effort to make a good story and also a good closure for the ending!

Watch season 1 first before you start this season!

Honestly it's been really a long time since I saw drama could maintain their production standard so coherent for both seasons! I saw both seasons back to back and I've to praise them for elevating this season's quality to another level! Yes I do understand viewers who are used to fast romance or illogical romance plot that doesn't require brain cells kind of dramas may find this drama boring and slow but because it is indeed a family and youth drama thus it's completely logical and appropriate that they filmed this way.

I think season 2 gave us a more thought provoking story showing the difference between true reality and the assumed "reality". Even FL's parents' also had a hard time adjusting when mid-live crisis hit the mom, until when she found a new balance to her 2nd job. Lin Miao Miao here definitely showed how her unyielding and reckless personality became a double-edged sword once she stepped into the working world.

I think all the four friends all went through tough times that was inevitable due to the fact of how restless our society has become. But really having friends like this is truly rare and precious, even though they could no longer be always together 24/7 but each of them understood that someone will back them up when a situation arises.

Highly recommend to season 2 if you found season 1 interesting as well! I like the level of romance they provided in the end product even though we all know they actually had more intimate scenes for the lead couple~

Most Comical and Emotional Taiwanese styled Medical/Romcom drama!

I felt quite emotional after finishing this drama and I've got to say it's really too short for such a well made story! They indeed spent a lot of time understanding the medical and hospital industry and their culture which really reflected great when the actors are delivering their scenes.

This is what I really call an all-rounder medical drama! They did not over exaggerate how holy the hospitals are because end of day many businessmen only treat these hospitals as money making machines... If you look at the ending credits scene, you will see how many doctors and specialists they have engaged and consulted to ensure this medical drama is in its most accurate form. I'm also really glad that the FL and ML played their roles really well along with other casts that created the sometimes comical and other times serious ambiance.

For anyone hoping for some BL scenes, I'm sorry to say there isn't any of such scenes... Because it was Ah Liang's one-sided crush on Doc Ah Kui~ Still funny to see their scenes but nope they did not end up together.

What I felt really lovey dovey was how the ML kept wooing after the FL because he gave his virginity to her but ended up just to get a cold face back as they progressed to really understand each other's pain and slowly falling for each other~

Really recommend everyone to watch it! You won't have regrets watching and it's not dry like most medical dramas!

Genuine thoughts of the drama!

Great story considering it's a completely original script! And I really hope China can produce more of these quality original scripts and not solely focus on IP adaptations...

So for the good parts that I like is the fact that all these cases are somehow interlinked with each other under one big conspiracy. All actors here also acted relatively well and close to their characters, Wang Jun Kai's acting did improved over these years though I would appreciate if he can have more natural portrayal of minor emotional changes when met with sudden situations that caught the character off guard... Zhang Yi definitely have no problems with his acting, perfectly shown his character's growth from a reckless and immature rookie policeman to a matured man with responsibilities!

For some parts that I didn't find it realistic would be the fact that Zhuang Wen Jie being so naive on believing "harmless" people approaching him... Like he is born from a thieve family of generations and being wit and alert of their surrounding dangers would honestly be already an natural born instinct... Yet he trusted the villain so easily with just a few words that can't be crossed-check. And the whole time, both Zhuang wen jie and Luo Jian actually didn't quite trust each other even though they kept saying it. Like as a policeman, they are actually taught how to tackle people who are distrustful of police which obviously Luo Jian didn't use his skills properly instead kept making zhuang wen jie doubt his intentions...

And for most the story, actually it's not zhuang wen jie working with the police to crack the cases but rather him always getting caught in between the thieves and police and ended up struggling internally which side to believe and help.

For the viewers who are confused by the ending message, the dad is most probably not dead and has been actually hiding to see which path his son has chosen to walk. This drama series is supposedly a three-part series from what the producer had claimed which is why there is so many loose ends in this drama but I'm not sure if we would be able to see the other two parts air given how volatile the Chinese entertainment industry is.

Most Unexpected drama to start 2022!

Omg! Let me shower my love for the drama first! Splendid cast and quite a fresh genre in Chinese dramas! I'm glad Zhao Jing Mai finally took up a role that suit her very well and not to say how much she has improved as an actress, I would she has successfully made a break though into an adult actress and no longer just under the shadows of other more successful similar age actress!

Bai Jing Ting too did a really great job portraying a character that could seem boring and two-dimensional, both his and Zhao Jing Mai's character grew at a nice pace as the story built up. I'm really thankful that he finally got the chance to prove his worth as an actor and not just some "idol" star! Kudos to their chemistry and professionalism despite the age gap and WOW I am satisfied with a proper and hilarious romance they had!

All of the romantic moments didn't seem awkward and you can see the director did not try to shove us with fake romance and typical "sugar" scenes like many big budget dramas did in 2021 and not to mention all the details in the entire script. I almost want to cry when I saw the drama is so serious with the story!

The good thing about this drama is that it allowed me as an viewer to feel like I'm involved in the situations too. I felt the emotions strongly as the story progressed and the scenes made me think too what the ways to stop the explosion, not just following the flow of the drama!

Just some parts that I feel are loopholes! First is definitely the unexplained part where Zhao Jing Mai being pulled into the cycle for no reason. Second, whereby the policemen that appeared in every cycle, like do the policemen just stopped in their time once the next cycle starts or do both the main leads disappear from being investigation suspects in previous cycle like they didn't exist from the start and the police continues the investigation that will never derive at an answer? Third would be a confusion for me when Li Shi Qing brought Xiao He Yun to a house to wash away the blood when Xiao He Yun accidentally stab the murderer in one of the cycles. It felt very odd for me like why Li Shi Qing knows the area so well and even managed to escape the police's search as though she lived there... (Maybe I had missed out on the details! ><)

Overall, really great drama and super worth it to watch it not to mention how short the drama is! Don't be worry about weak story plots because it's NOT! And if you are looking for interesting genres to watch and not just those brainless "beautiful" idol dramas then this will definitely be great one!

It's actually a healing story!

Ok so I started watching this drama expecting it to be heavy hearted seeing the synopsis and sad reviews but I'm thankful this drama healed me along the way. The story starts off with characters holding onto past regrets and not able to move on and as it progresses, So Mang and Jae Min uncovered more and more happenings that resulted in Ha Min's death which were unknown to them previously. Yes, Ha Min committed suicide because of the casual negative comments and actions done by people around him when it was at the point that he needed someone to hang onto. No one should be blame for his death but what's important is that we should not spread negativity and hurtful words so casually to people around us just because we are in close relationship. You will never know when a person may be going through depressing times and may need some comforting and understanding.

At first when I began watching the drama, I was quite confused why there wasn't a center of focus for the story and there wasn't much connection between the past and present. Though the synopsis claim Ha Min and So Mang as the main couple leads but they are more like people of the past while Bo Mi and Jin Young's story seemed too weak to be the focus of the story plus it did not even have any link between the two generations of students... After I went to check out the Webtoon then I realised the drama version kinda mix the different "seasons' story" into one plot. Then I realised the writer created the link for two stories whereby So Mang saw Bo Mi and Jae Min as a reflection of the things that she had experienced with Ha Min.

Honestly it's a pretty well-told story as they come into acceptance that whatever had happened can't be reversed and slowly walked out of the past as everyone continue moving forward in the present. I like that the drama gave a good closure for all the character's story and I felt surprisingly healing from the last scenes.

PS: people who have saw the webtoon may find the drama version disappointing but to be honest I feel it's important to give appreciation to the casts and production team for their effort to produce a good drama!

Everything Wrong with Extraordinary Woo Young Woo...

Ok let me clarify myself! I really love the chemistry of the cast members and all of them honestly exceeded my expectations of them playing their roles even if it was just a supporting role^^ The acting and production quality definitely deserve a lot of praise. What I felt ridiculous is the story content!

1. The unnecessary cases used in every episode
I get it that it is a legal genre drama and the need to showcase FL's genius talents but why do I feel even me as an commoner with limited law knowledge sees through the loopholes of the cases and can easily win with the loopholes?? I don't think people working in law industries studied so many hellish years just to be so careless and not detail oriented like what was showed in the drama...

Eg. first case FL handled was her former landlord and they actually debated so long forgetting the fact the doctor's diagnosis may be biased as he clearly say his examination is based on police reports as well... In the lottery case felt the most stupid one for me! I can't believe they used such a case just to deepen the ML and FL's relationship... Like every bloody gambler understands the serious trouble they will face if they ever steps into court for whatever reason and here the client just casually ask for a court settlement as though he's from some alien planet who's not tied to any legal regulations and even after the settlement, I'm shocked they weren't caught for illegal gambling when the court and police knew about it... This just give the wrong impression to young audiences that legal feuds are superficial and not the true reality.

2. Professionalism of senior lawyers that made my eyes rolled~
While the drama tried to show the vastly different working styles of Kim Myung Suk and Jang Seung Jun, I can only say you will never find any of these type of lawyers in huge law firms... Sure there are senior mentor lawyers who are very nice and easy to work with but seriously why do the scriptwriter had to portray Jang Seung Jun's character this way??? I know he is an small role only but I literally felt my IQ being forced to drop whenever it's his scenes!!! I have never seen such a lawyer with such poor professionalism like he just graduated from college or what. Yes it's not possible to win every single case even as a senior lawyer but I can say that lawyers from renowned law firms are super cautious with how they phrase their words in court hearings in case there are loopholes caught by the opposing party and he confidently goes on sprouting all the arrogant words in court... And the fact that he didn't do a thorough check on what's the judge's personality and level of work ethics before inviting him to a meal is laughable, categorizing as though every judge is corrupted... (well I know many law workers are corrupted but it's always better be safe than sorry)

3. Woo Young Woo's overly generalized autism
I must say I loved how she acted out during the start of the show but honestly as time goes by, her way of expressing and actions seem to become more and more like a normal person... I'm not saying it's her problem but as I've worked with colleagues with special needs, the way she could quickly accept and get over the fact that she got kicked out of one case is totally not realistic... In fact people with this condition even if it is just slight autism is unable to process new or sudden changes quickly due to the fact their brain lacks certain functioning which made it difficult to register sudden changes or denial...

So all in all, maybe because I'm seeing how real society work now that I'm in my mid twenties as compared to when I was just a teenager, it is difficult for me to overlook the issues mentioned. Maybe if I'm still in my teens, I will think these matters are not important as it doesn't affect me in anyway and just focus on the romantic parts between the FL and ML.

A rather thought provoking story of Anna.

Just completed this drama today and I'd say the drama used quite a thought provoking way to tell its story. It's overall a very depressing and gloomy story to the point that I also felt affected as the story progressed... So Lee Yumi played by Suzy actually reflects many moments of our lives under certain circumstances. She came from a very ordinary but loving/supportive family, while she could have also lived a very peaceful and mediocre life but I think what really made her change was in fact meeting Colonel Philips's wife who was hinted as delusional by her husband...

The wife had taught her a lot of things and a few of it is how to keep a poker face and not allowing other people to guess what she is thinking or perhaps even lying... All of this had influenced her a lot even though she wasn't aware of it herself. One would be when she was in a ballet school and at that moment she is seen lying very comfortably already. Honestly, she could have been honest about her background and just ignore people's gossip but she couldn't because all along she felt her false/delusional character setup would breakdown...

I could relate to her feelings when she wanted to live up to her parents' anticipations and lied about making it to college which I think I would have also done the same if I was in her shoes. I do think in her own generalisation, she has been thinking how everyone would just look down on her if she had been honest about her situation. For her marriage, I do think it's really the same type of people attracts each other but obviously her husband was even more evil and ambitious, even resorting to locking her in a mental hospital to protect his achievements.

In the last episode, she was seen burning the car and her husband which was a relief where she finally decided to break away from her own shell and go live a quiet life which she yearns.

Overall, a great drama of a rather underrated genre! Yumi did all this because she thought this the only way to get respected in society and able to live a comfortable live which she didn't after living a life of a copied identity.

WATCH IT! You won't regret at all!

Yes I finally completed this drama after waiting for like 2 years after its first trailer!!! Great great drama given that C-dramas has been rather disappointing for quite a long while now especially for the historical genre! The cast is just wonderful and unexpected for the great chemistry and synergy, Chen Xiao and Liu Yi Fei together in a drama again is a total gift from heavens and their "lovers" set up is so believable and so sweet just by watching it!

Jelly Lin's acting gave me a big sight of relieve as she's finally starting to act well/normal in her roles after so many past dramas she had destroyed with her real bad acting.

Ada Liu's performance here made me so happy for her that Ada Liu could finally get her revenge against the people who bullied her in real life! If you have watched the scene whereby Sun San Niang throwing Du Chang Feng into the river for him saying demeaning words towards the three ladies, though it was a super funny scene but you may not know how is this scene related to a real past controversy of Ada Liu. What happened was that Ada Liu was the bridesmaid to her celebrity friend's wedding in China and after the ceremony ended, the Groom along with Groomsman decided to "prank" Bridesmaid by throwing one of them into the pool/pond in the venue which ended up they chose Ada Liu because she had "great figures"... The situation ended really ugly due to the fact that all the guys involved didn't bother to apologies nor admit they were wrong but instead pushed the fault to Ada Liu for making a big deal out of a small issue when she wasn't the one who blow up the issue (She was even made to apologise on the situation!). Since then, she was bullied by the Groom and Groomsmen's fans/netizens name calling her being "slutty" and many disgusting behaviors from the internet...

I really like how the story is setup especially the smooth ending leading towards the last few episodes which many dramas tend up end up rushing or make sudden bad ending due to poor management of quality checks. I particularly like Xu Hai Qiao, Guan Yun Peng and Zhang Xiao Qian's splendid acting here and made their mediocre roles stood out! Though Xu Hai Qiao's character isn't a good one at all but honestly his performance here really make you forget he's an actor and really naturally progressed from a timid guy to turning evil. Guan Yun Peng's character expressions are really charismatic when it could have been a mediocre character if not acted right! Just that his initial behavior from a small soldier to when he became the right-hand man was kinda odd for me as it does seemed that he had motives getting close to the Gu Jian Fan and not as innocent/righteous as portrayed.

So there are certainly quite a few flaws even though it was nicely produced. One would be the fact that Zhao Pan Er managed to be on intimate/good terms with many "foe" characters so easily every time she used her sincerity is quite unrealistic TBH... Olden days people in these capital cities are honestly not as trustable and easily persuadable as what was portrayed in this drama due to their complicated environment and strict social classes...

Overall, really recommended for everyone to watch and enjoy the natural sweetness of the main couple and feel real satisfied with all the revenge they have taken on those who kept bullying and belittling them!

BEST YOUTH AND FAMILY C-DRAMA OF 2019! (psss: you can have high expectations!)

So I watched both season 1 and 2 back to back and I had a blast even though I had more things to worry about my life! This is certainly one of the most down to earth kind of quality C-drama that is rarely produce in China now due to their restless market.

What I really love about the production is the fact that they kept the story very close to our real daily life and include a lot of current affairs related to our ever changing society and education system. Even the depiction is very real of how Lin Miao Miao engrossing herself into becoming a internet celebrity after realising she could make money like this too right before the moment of their university entrance exams which is super important for the students in China...

Another would be the unknown sacrifices the parents made for their kids and many of times, is not appreciated by the kids thinking the parents forced them too much. But I think that's the reality of gap that exist everywhere... When we are young, we never understood why our parents kept pushing us to do what we don't like/ not good at but once we grew up and start to step out of our safety net to see the real working world, we realised why our parents were so obsessed with sculpting us into what they hope for. Well I do understand there are parents who take things to extremely but most of the parents are indeed doing it because they don't wish for us to be at an disadvantage.

Another point is that I love how the four friends slowly understanding each other's pain and past scars. As I watched, I realised that all four of them actually had pulled each other up when one is suffering and the subtle care they had for each other...

One thing I learnt myself after meeting people of all sorts, true friends will always try to lend a helping hand or give you a push when they saw you may need it even if we do not contact each other in a long time, whereas so called "friends" will only be there in good peaceful times and turn all quiet when you reach out to them. I always hate those "friends" who are like social butterflies and always in huge groups... Not that they are bad people but they can never focus on one person much less a sincere heart to heart talk.

Super HIGHLY recommend to anyone who has not watch! It's really been long time since a drama that doesn't contain any filler scenes and idiotic plots... Though this season does not touch on romance yet but you can expect a lot in season 2!

Zheng Ye Cheng never fails to make girls fall in love with him!

Hmm how should I put this... I just completed this drama and I would say the only thing that made me stay on with this drama are the casts' good acting and overall good character styling. Really not so much of the story because it's really nothing new nor exceptional... For a low budget romance drama, I wouldn't recommend watching with too much logic because obviously people are watching it for all the artificial sweet moments and main leads' good looks.

What I don't really get it was the episodes towards ending where Prince Guang Ping joined hands with the crown prince of Yi Gu... Like everything just seems to be a child's play and overcame so easily when it's actually a rebellion that could get everyone killed... And why did the scriptwriters add so many unnecessary "comical" scenes for the Yi Gu crown prince when he is indeed a very sly yet careful person...

And maybe because so many scenes were deleted from the original filming, a lot of lost links between scenes and pacing really made me kinda lost!

Lacking some romance BUT it's fine! We got a good story with good acting!

What I really liked about this drama is that every actor here acted very naturally and professional in their roles. The leads as well didn't do too much out of character, just nice for Shen Yi's slightly oddball yet mysterious personality pairing with Du Cheng's initial headstrong character. I'm really thankful this drama didn't portray criminals like they are psychopaths like some recent dramas of the same genre. I really appreciate that the scriptwriter kept criminals' behavior and motives realistic and logical which many dramas really lacked these days...

So for some parts I really didn't like is how they lack some realistic details when inspecting the crime sites... Such as the need for wearing gloves yet no SHOE COVERS when entering the victims' place... I was like "huh? seriously surely they must be kidding right..." A lot of the times, both the leads also didn't wear masks nor gloves when handling the dead bodies when the forensic was wearing it... I mean I kinda got distracted while being engrossed in the episode.

But overall this drama is one of the really good crime suspense production as compared to many released recently! Not mentioned I had quite a crushed on Shen Yi's charm that makes people open up to him and the desire to friends with such person XD Tan Jian Ci is really a rare actor that portrays his characters so well that made it charming and unique for every characters given the fact that he wasn't even professionally trained!

Good pacing and based on a real case in China

First of all, this drama is inspired by a true event that occurred in the 2000s when sale of drugs were at its peak and the story is focused on the incidents with the notorious drug lord. Please correct me if I'm wrong but the name should be Liu Zhao Hua.

Good points!
1. This drama is pretty fast paced and not draggy at all which I totally appreciate it. There are only 24 eps, so it's really easy to watch if you are those that get impatient or tired of chasing dramas.
2. All the actors did great in their roles here especially Lin Peng (FL) and Zheng Ye Cheng (ML) exceeded my expectations with their chemistry! I must say they actually look really good together even though there is quite a age difference between them! And I want to praise the child actor too! She is so cute and natural in her character, her interaction with her daddy literally just melts me away~
3. Though the story isn't all true to the arrest of the drug lord, it still makes a good crime drama! It has good thought process and logical scenes that I felt was handled well unlike many dramas these days.

Bad points...
1. Some of characters just faded out of the drama like Chu Jiao Jiao, she's like disappeared into thin air after the first case concluded and Cheng Jin Song also didn't had any scene on the last part.
2. Lacking some romance/ interactions between the main leads towards the as it was becoming more focus on the crime parts. I do hope for some more romance between them!
3. There are definitely some major plot holes such as whenever the FL gets into grave danger, things just solved too easily. I mean this kind tactics won't work in reality...
