Deep In My Heart is a low-key gem, that I watched by accident.

Sounds like it's the very same plot, it has some absolutely beautiful men and light plot. There will be some familiar faces (Gong Jun) which makes it all the more worth watching.

Attractive leads with out of this world chemistry.

This movie has aged very, very well, probably due to it's stellar ageless performances and cinematography.
There are moment of explicit content, but it's all necessary and beautifully made.

Nothing seems forced in either movie, you easily forget that they're acting.

They are very similar productions. Both Royal harem comedies, of high quality (sadly too few eps) where the female lead does NOT have a high pitched voice or a completely vapid personality.

Chen Kun, Yang mi, Feng Feng, and a similar storyline of demon-human affair, love and loss. I haven't seen the previous Painted Skin movies or drama, but this one was very watchable.
