I stumbled across this site and discovered a parallel world.

Luckily I am a speed reader so the use of English subs has allowed me to indulge in Asian dramas and movies that, previously, I was unaware of.  The Australian 'laid back' individualistic lifestyle had not prepared me for the culture shock  of everyday life in the more collectivist nature of Asian culture. I am rapidly adapting my 'world view' and have noticed much less tendency to want to shout at repressive or repressed characters in the dramas.

 My introduction to BL started with the xianxia drama The Untamed and I was blown away and never recovered. 

I think I have fairly eclectic tastes as is reflected in the many genres I have allocated a 10 score to. I love anything that explores human nature where individuals adapt (positively) to outside influences. If I discover an actor I like I tend to watch other works by them. It's fun seeing their earlier/younger selves and reflecting on the changes.
