1. Seen from a Distance, Green Spring
Korean Drama - 2021, 12 episodes
This is a rewatch and it's still my favorite Kdrama, which, to be fair, isn't saying much since I don't watch a lot of Kdramas. But this one deals with a lot of important topics and it balances trauma and healing really well. And it has a happy ending, which I love. It's technically imperfect in editing style for the drama itself since scenes end a bit abruptly, but I really don't care since I love the story and characters so much. Joon and So Bin!

2. Weak Hero Class 1
Korean Drama - 2022, 8 episodes
I kept hoping there would be a 10 star drama this year for me and THIS IS IT! Superb in every sense of the word, I would not change a thing. It's a hard and brutal watch, but the performances, the story, the realism, all of it was perfection. Park Ji Hoon is brilliant!

3. F4 Thailand : Boys Over Flowers
Thai Drama - 2021, 16 episodes
There is something about the Boys Over Flowers franchise that I just hate. The changes made in the F4 Thailand version is what makes me not only like this series, but actually love it. There's serious growth in Thyme's character, very visible change from someone you would never want to be around to someone whose soft and tender side wins out. It's really a beautiful transformation. I love him and Gorya together, and F4 Thailand is one of the highest quality Thai dramas I've watched so far.

4. Wandee Goodday
Thai Drama - 2024, 12 episodes
I mean, it was fine. I enjoyed parts of it. and I don't have anything against Yak and Dee as a couple. I just feel like it relied a bit heavily on old tropes. I'm getting tired of BL where one partner is traumatized for some reason or the other and they suffer from nightmares The only BL that works for me in that trope is "Between Us" because there is actually a solid reason for the nightmares. Also, I'm sorry, it got pretty campy and unrealistic. Which makes sense, I guess because who actually expects realism from BL? I watched it, didn't hate it, but it's not one I'll watch again. I did appreciate how Yak and Dee seemed to have a fairly healthy relationship once they made it past a few issues.

5. Hidamari ga Kikoeru
Japanese Drama - 2024, 12 episodes
This drama was just so relaxing for me. It didn't push for more intimacy than the normal comfort level of most Japanese dramas, which made the intimacy we did see that much more meaningful, like Kohei resting his hand on Taichi's. That's huge in Japanese dramas sometimes. They have such a healthy relationship in that each of them really brings out the best qualities in the oter person. I loved it and wouldn't change a thing, not even Maya who I feel like offered some important moments to the overall story.
Mini Rant - Poor girl's gotten some serious hate and I just think all of that is pure knee-jerk overreaction because "how dare Maya try to come between them." Well, in reality, it's called a love triangle and dramas are full of them, and that's no even what this one was. Out of all the "love triangles" I've seen, this is one of the least annoying. At least she wasn't an ex popping up out of nowhere and causing waves. Viewers need to chill out and not take her presence like a personal affront. - End Mini Rant

6. Pit Babe: Uncut
Thai Drama - 2023, 13 episodes
Loved this. I'm down for omegaverse and have been for years but I didn't expect it would ever make it into Thai BL. Love Charlie and Babe and how they break some molds, and ALSO love North and Sonic. Those two didn't get enough screen time but so cute and hopeful for season 2. Also a fan of Way, which I did NOT think was possible since there's some serious consent issues with him and Babe. But the actor sold genuine love (albeit obsessive) and he convinced me of some serious emotional depth. There was a lot of emotional connection in this series that felt genuine. Stoked for season 2!

7. Even Sun Series
Thai Drama - 2022, 6 episodes
Silly and ridiculous and the subtitles are AWFUL, but BounPrem were hilarious and I loved the series. Just a fun comedy. Prem went major extra with this one, and he and Boun were clearly just having fun. Even when any intimacy scenes are G-rated, they still have great chemistry.

8. Why R U?
Korean Drama - 2023, 8 episodes
This one was just bland. The main couple had the energy from Fighter and Tutor in the Thai version, but the secondary couple who were supposed to be Fighter and Tutor bored me to tears. I watched it, laughed a bit, and am now in the middle of forgetting it completely. I didn't hate it, but it isn't memorable.

9. Kimi Wa Petto
Japanese Drama - 2017, 16 episodes
Kimi wa Petto is one of my top favorite Japanese dramas. I adore Sumire and Takashi and how they support each other. The story does get bogged down in messiness as it goes along, but it still gives me a lot of joy to watch. They're just so cute and it has one of my favorite openers of all time!

10. Between Us
Thai Drama - 2022, 12 episodes
"Between Us" is now my favorite BL with WinTeam as my favorite BL couple and BounPrem as my favorite actor pairing. The emotions they sold feel so raw and real in this series. They just were a perfect casting pair on every level. I also appreciate that the series didn't go overboardwith the sex scenes. That's happening a lot lately where the NC is just too much, but "Between Us" balanced those scenes really well with character development and relationship growth. And they weren't overly NC. WinTeam are one of the healthiest green flag couples I've run across in my journey into Asian dramas and I will be rewatching this series regularly. Such a favorite!
