Shows I want to remind myself to see again before my obsessive journey into Cdrama world closes, only to be visited in a less intense and more nostalgic way in the future.

currently watching, slowly. looking forward to where we stopped watching it last time, which was somewhere about when people started singing on rooftops. maybe it won't cringe me off watching it this time :)

I had to buy this one to be able to see it with decent subtitles, which weren't available anywhere I looked at the time I first had to see it. So naturally I'll be watching it again. Soon. It's Wu Zetian. I just can't say no to that.

  • The Rise of Phoenixes

    4. The Rise of Phoenixes

    Chinese Drama - 2018, 70 episodes

    9.5

This is one of my all time favorite brilliantly written shows. It's dark, it's complex, it has a stellar cast. Revisiting it is mandatory.

  • Joy of Life

    5. Joy of Life

    Chinese Drama - 2019, 46 episodes

    8.5

the only one on this list that i'm rewatching WITH someone else. because it's going to need to be done before we see the sequel. I do not remember this at all, really. Except Uncle. And the little chicken drumstick girl. And the amazing soundtrack that I listen to over and over again. Ok, maybe I remember it more than I think I do.

  • The Story of Ming Lan

    6. The Story of Ming Lan

    Chinese Drama - 2018, 78 episodes

    10

I've already watched this one over again, and it will happen again, because there's little more charming than seeing these two on the screen together. When you combine that with a captivating story, magnificent cast, and poignant soundtrack there's just something that makes you go back again. and again.

  • Princess Agents

    7. Princess Agents

    Chinese Drama - 2017, 67 episodes

    9.5

i admit, for one show that i absolutely adored, the lack of ending has kept me from rewatching it. But it needs to be done, especially now that i've seen so many cdramas in between. will my memory of it exceed the reality or will it pull me in again?

  • Nirvana in Fire

    8. Nirvana in Fire

    Chinese Drama - 2015, 54 episodes

    10

oh, the slow build, flash fire, then slow build again. I'm not sure my heart will take it. But I'm definitely going to try.

  • Eternal Love

    9. Eternal Love

    Chinese Drama - 2017, 58 episodes

    10

Read the book 3 times. Watched it at least that many, in parts and in entirety. It's so well done idgaf about any of the bad hype that plagues it.

  • Love and Destiny

    10. Love and Destiny

    Chinese Drama - 2019, 60 episodes

    9.0

It's getting redundant maybe, but.. amazing cast. Heartwrenching soundtrack. Lovely story. And I want to see if I can watch it this time and not mentally restyle the main lead's hair in a way that suits his face better. >.< I hate it when my mind get stuck on some stupid little thing like that. Plus my little angry fox doctor is in it, which is one of my most absurdly favorite characters in any show.
