Yim Si Wan to Star in a New K-drama by "The Fiery Priest" Director!

Yim Si Wan will reportedly lead a new suspense K-drama.

On April 25, several media outlets revealed that Yim Si Wan will be the main lead in the upcoming K-drama Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (literal translation). 

Yim Si Wan's agency Plum A&C responded to the reports through the outlet NewsN and shared, "Yim Si Wan received the offer to lead the drama Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and he is currently reviewing it."

If Yim Si Wan decided to lead the series, this will be his first K-drama project for the year. Last year, Yim Si Wan was active in the K-drama scene. He led the series Summer Strike and the two seasons of Tracer. He also made a special appearance in the K-dramas Thirty-Nine and Missing: The Other Side Season 2. 

Aside from K-dramas, Yim Si Wan is set to star in the upcoming film Boston 1947 with Ha Jung Woo, Bae Sung Woo, Kim Sang Ho, Park Hyo Joo, and Lee Seung Joon. 

Yim Si Wan is known for being a versatile actor who performs excellently in any genre. This time, he will be challenging the suspense genre in K-dramas. 

The idol actor is known for being part of the popular works Run On, Strangers from Hell, Misaeng: Incomplete Life, Moon Embracing the Sun, Unlocked, Emergency Declaration, The Attorney, and more. 

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon will be a suspense K-drama that will narrate the story of students in an agricultural high school in Chungcheong Province. The K-drama is set in the 1980s and will focus on a weak boy named Jang Byung Tae. 

The upcoming K-drama will be directed by  Lee Myung Woo who also helmed the K-dramas One Ordinary Day, Backstreet Rookie, The Fiery Priest, and more. 

Yim Si Wan received the offer to portray the character named Jang Byung Tae. He is a small and weak boy who lives in Onyang in South Chungcheong Province. After transferring to Buyeo Agricultural High School, Jang Byung Tae will face a turning point in his life. 

There are no official details yet on the broadcast channel and release date of the upcoming K-drama Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.
