Jin Ki Joo receives offer to act alongside Kim Mu Yeol in 'Get Schooled'
Han Seok Kyu will possibly star in a new comedy K-drama and reunite with Secret Door director Shin Kyung Soo.
On January 16, media outlets reported that Han Seok Kyu will be the main lead of the upcoming K-drama New President Project. This will be the next project of the director after the 2024 film When We Bloom Again.
Han Seok Kyu's agency Clover Company responded to the casting news. According to them, "Han Seok Kyu did receive the proposal and he is currently reviewing it."
If Han Seok Kyu decides to join the new series, this will be his reunion with director Shin Kyung Soo after 11 years. This will also be the second upcoming K-drama of the renowned actor.
Before Han Seok Kyu leads the New President Project, he will first star in the upcoming series When the Day Breaks. He will work alongside Jung Yu Mi, Yeom Hye Ran, Kim Joon Han, Ryu Hye Young, and Kim Yoo Mi.
Just last month, Han Seok Kyu won the 2024 Acting Grand Prize at the MBC Awards for his K-drama Doubt.
New President Project is a comedy K-drama that will revolve around a CEO who does his best to mediate disputes for people who are on a cliff-edge situation with a 0% chance of winning.
Han Seok Kyu got the offer to portray the role of CEO Shin who runs a fried chicken shop in a small neighborhood.
The upcoming K-drama will be the joint work of director Shin Kyung Soo (The First Responders, The Nokdu Flower, and Six Flying Dragons) and writer Ban Ki Ri (Missing: The Other Side).
There is still no confirmation yet on the broadcast channel and airing date of the New President Project.
