Super dissapointing
I was really looking forward to S2. I saw some people complaining about S1, but I enjoyed it, so I had high hopes for S2. One of my biggest problems with S2 is how difficult it is to understand what is going on. They decided to do a time skip, and one of the characters was really hated, but as a viewer I was left confused. Why were they treating her that way? The viewers have to wait way too long to get an answer to this. I don't personally see how keeping that a secret for so long helped the story develop lol. This isn't the only time they use flashbacks in order to answer some questions. I think they relied on flashbacks way too much. Also once we know the MH-1 twist...felt like they put that twist in there last minute based on what happened in S1.For how long the fans had to wait, you would think it would've been written better. Also, there was way too much emphasis on the military. Too many new characters that I did not care for. The new monsters also didn't make sense considering what we know about how monsters are created. It was just unfortunate.

No beginning and no end
Reading Webtoon is one of my favourite hobbies and the "Sweet Home" webtoon is still one of my favourite. The first season of the series managed to caption the suspension and drama of the webtoon but this second season is just a big complicated mess. So much happens and still nothing happens.
It all felt very disoriented with every character keeping their secrets from others and also from the viewers. With so many characters i couldn't connect with anyone because the story never went anywhere meaningful. Yes there is horror and gore and action and many monsters, but it didn't help much to make the series more watchable and enjoyable. I had to force my self to watch which is a shame. What bothered me the most is slopy dialogue and inconsistent story progression. Looks like the director wants us to stop caring for humans and start rooting for the monsters.

Did we watch the same thing?
I was reading other reviews after having finished this and am honestly wondering if I even watched the same thing as many of the other reviewers. I watched season one of Sweet Home a couple months ago so this show was newer to me than for those that watched it 3 years ago when it first came out, still I was excited when I saw a second season coming since the first left on a cliff hanger. The first season was not shy about killing people off and I was actually frustrated that almost all my favorite characters had died while the ones I did not like; the selfish and useless ones, were the ones that survived. All the trailers for this season had Hyun Soo as the focus so I expected to find him as the main focus. But he was not, nor were any of the other survivors from season one. The show honestly did not have a main focus at all, it started so many subplots and answered not one by its conclusion making this this season only a prequel for the next season which is utterly frustrating. Kdramas are rarely given second seasons let alone third seasons mostly because they are able to complete full stories in the typical 16 episodes. SO having a second season that did absolutely nothing for the show feels odd.
The acting here was fine and the actors did great with the script they were given but from episodes 4-8 I found myself fast forwarding through more than half the episodes out of boredom. They decided to focus on new characters which would have been fine had they picked a couple but they jumped and skipped to what felt like irrelevant characters that you never had any time to build any attachment for so their scenes were just boring. The only two characters that seemed to stand out from the new bunch were Chan Young and Chief Ji, as well as the psycho doctor. But again, there was the beginning of a subplot with no follow through or conclusion so all you are left with is confusion and questions. I suppose that is what they want so you will pick up the next season but it does not make for a good show.
My advice would be to wait and watch this with season 3 when it comes out and you might find this more appealing but if you watch it now you'll be frustrated and annoyed. Characters you were attached to from last season are either sidelined or killed in ridiculous ways, the monsters go from being interesting and unique to carbon copies of each other that look like blobs of cement, and there is a one year time jump and nothing is explained about that year. Just wait to watch this when they decide to give you an actual story and not this weird in between.

Tanked.
I just wanna start off with this is my personal opinion, so take your fights elsewhere.I feel like this season had a whole different writer or something cuz it tanked so bad. Not even sure why or how anyone is listed as a main character when there were no mains. As much as I wish there was, it might have made this shit show bearable.
Episode 1 made sense and then it's like they forgot what happened in season one so they were like "oh but I remember Hellbound, let's just make it like that!" Or something. And not gonna lie, with making us wait that long, we really needed episode 1 to be a recap. Least I did. For the longest time I thought I was going insane because I couldn't remember most of the cast..... Little did I know, I wasn't meant to because THEY WERE NEW CHARACTERS!!! How are you gonna jus drop new characters (a fk ton of them) and expect people to know them?
While I felt bad for some characters, I had no connection to any of them. I felt more sympathy towards the monsters than anything else.
The back and forth back and forth was horrific and gave me a headache. And that ending felt like a cop-out. If I'm honest, I'd rate this a 3 and call it a day. The only reason I kept going and didn't drop it was hoping more of the old cast would pop up *cough*SongKang*cough*. We were robbed. Lol

A totally different feel from the original sweet home
I loved sweet home 1 even though the effects could be improved. Sweet home 1 had more original monsters that can describe the greed of each human. Now, the 'monsters ' look more like robots, zombies and what the aliens in an avengers movie would look like. This series was more psychological and not as suspensful and fast as season 1.This season doesnt seem to really continue from the first except for the girl in season 1 looking for her bro, the firefighter kickass girl from season 1 and the 2 male leads from the first season that had hardly any roles in this season.

DIFFERENT BUT GOOD NONETHELESS
There was an evident difference in the latest season, from the cinematography, music, cgi/vfx and overall direction- and in my opinion thats what made season one so original and just so fun to watch. From the first episode of season 2, it just felt like watching a whole other drama - the charm of the first season wasn't entirely there. S1 had amazing cinematography and OST that added the hype and uniqueness to the project. The monsters were actual PEOPLE in suits and makeup and then altered with vfx whilst S2 was mainly cgi. Not to be dramatic but it felt like the art was gone lol. Season 2 just reminded me of a typicalmilitary action thriller...
The second instalment seemed to go toward a different narrative as we're are no longer in the residential building, we get to meet new characters, some interesting and some... not so much. The crazy doctor and the little girl were the most compelling to the storyline and hopefully we will see more of them in the next season. We see a lot of military involvement and though they add a great perspective to this pandemic, it just got boring having them on my screen most of the time. There were also too many throwaway characters which i personally didn't care for, and instead wished they gave some more screen time to Hyun su (you know, the main character??) It would've been interesting to see his connection with the little girl and his overall struggle to survive in the world as monster who had very human emotions.
The the last few episode is where it seemed to pick up, i had no idea what was going on.. there's people that made into monsters is that how this pandemic started? What was the crazy doctors role in this?? There were a lot of unanswered questions which made me very excited for the S3
The original cast done amazing reprising their role and i cant wait to see more of them (as MAIN character hopefully)
ALSO the amount of bare booty's i've seen in episode 2.... i was flabbergasted.

bring back sang-wook pls
most of the characters from s1 were either dead or gone for most of the season, and the incredible amount of new characters they added honestly gets fkn annoying after a while. the main character was not so main but was still in the posters so ok. and my man, my boy, my personal reliable traumatized emo gangster bestie was gone. i don't count any of his scenes bc none of them were actually him, so that was horrible and i hope s3 fixes this (but by the trailer i don't think they will).i saw 4 whole asses in this season and 3 of them were covered in either alien snot or blood so that was... something.
not a fan of them starting to erase the monsters from the storyline? like i get the cgi is kinda shit and it's easier to just make them humans but the best part about sweet home were the different-looking monsters. it also had less of a horror feel and more of an action one.
overall, i won't lie, this was entertaining and i had a lot of fun watching it. it just didn't feel like sweet home and most of the time i was just extremely confused (and/or missing the og bad bitch sang-wook)

Kinda Weak Season, but still Good
I watched it without much expectation. Since the director really wants to continue this series even though there hasn't been a sequel for the manhwa in years. This Season 2 and the upcoming Season 3 are going on their own path, even though the writers aren't involved going forward, i still have a little bit of hope since the director said he consulted with them, so he was told of the general idea with where the story is going and just played around with it.The story picks up right away where season 1 left off and already, it's a jam-packed action but i noticed the CGI is still the same as Season 1 if not, sometimes worse than last season, but it is well done in scenes where Song Kang and Sang Wook are involved.
Back to the story... i was kinda confused at first because things started escalating but good thing they explained it as we move forward. The scale of the story has now expanded because our characters are now out in the wider world, so many characters got added to the story and because of that they really had to compromise with the screentime. I guess it's really tight in that aspect, so there's a different shift of focus in the characters in this season and then they killed most of the characters that we followed during s1 and it's kinda boring at times when you have to care for these new characters in the story and there's a lot of them as well and most of them died off really quick, but i couldn't care less since there wasn't much for me to care about, some of them are really well done, though they haven't really contributed that much to the story yet. This season was just a setup for what's probably gonna happen in s3 i guess... because nothing really much happened, but we're still given enough information about what's happening in the world of Sweet Home, but not enough for it to move forward.
Them killing off most of the characters from s1 was kinda useless to me because the characters they've added/replaced have similar personalities to the characters from s1, so what's the point?? and their deaths didn't even leave much impact on the mains except for one, but i'm not gonna tell. Speaking of mains, I do see some crumbs of romance build up that's going on here, though i doubt they would expand on it in the next season since it's not the main point of the story, but i would love to see if they would do it since it's a nice heart fluttering side plot to have in a world that's fucked up and full of monsters.
The acting as always is impeccable there is nothing much to tell, what do you want me to say? It's good, as koreans always do
Now this part is for those who've read 'Shotgun Boy' which is the prequel for Sweet Home, so it's gonna be spoilers. As someone who has read it, after watching this, I think there's no hope of adaptation for that manhwa in the future anymore. It's just my theory though because i noticed they took some aspects from 'Shotgun Boy' and added them here, the very obvious one is the girl who can turn anyone into a monster and then you have the lab as well, but props to them because the way they integrated it here was so smooth. If they ever adapt that manhwa, i doubt you'd be able to add much to the story, the only thing you're gonna bring to the table are more characters and another mc which is gonna put off some viewers.
Overall, this season was kinda weak for me and kinda fast paced, since there's a lot to unpack, plus you have a lot of new characters as well, but it's still good. Song Kang is sooo hot in here, like he got buffed, ugh!! DADDY?! Go Min Si is pretty as always and because of the new main that got introduced here, plus his character dynamic with her, i can kinda predict who's Go Min Si's next romance drama partner, they have a good chemistry xD

Disappointing
How do you make a show and have all the great actors just throw the show down in the trash can? Well this hits it. They literally have all the supporting cast in the show and made them boring and useless. The main character did ok but they didn’t even stand out at all. The show had so potential and just gave up trying.Cet avis était-il utile?

like a group project being put together just before the deadline
the first season was great, perhaps they kept repeating that one imagine dragons song every 5 minutes but at least it had a plot.it's insane how it went downhill after the success of the first season. characters dying left and right, introducing new ones but made no effort to make the audience care for them.
this season feels like a filler, only killing characters for shock value and keep things interesting. and speaking of shock value, that fucking baby fetus monster human hybrid?????? it made want to punch into the screen and kill myself.
but I'm not gonna lie, that one scene at the end between (evil?) hyunsu and eunyu had me at the edge of my seat, more so that the rest of the season.

Bad but entertaining i guess
I read this webtoon when it first came out and it really sucks that they made a mess of a story so creative.they took a lot of liberties in season one and it just created many inconsistencies as the story progress to season 2. To the point it gets ridiculous.
I’ll start with the whole premise of the story is that people who concert into monsters were suppose to be their deepest desires. But i guess they didn’t have enough time in all these 3 years and instead they just went on random now instead of specific things we get all these metal monsters that look like they came straight out of Transformers other as spiders and dinosaurs and just random things out of safari etc. otterly ridiculous. Depending on what i guess their jib was they created the monster based on that. Special effects weren’t as good as season 1.
A lot of of people are saying “its world building” but it is too late for world building or they should have limited to the first 2-3 episodes,
Lee Jinwook is terrified of going back to the lab he keeps pestering Hyunsu about not going there blah blah well they go and hyunsu is just locked up for 2 episodes lol . JInwook makes Hyunsu turn into stone and tells him he’d die here alone and so on but somehow because they do not show us Hyunsu gets out of that predicament and really quickly because at the same time Yikyung was giving birth and he was there immediately after the little monster baby was out lol.
Our new MC Eunyu still just as annoying and selfish as ever. Has had absolutely no growth but i liked that she’s somehow turned Herself into some sort of Rambo.
Unnecessary love triangle Eunyu was never supposed to be a love interest for Hyunsu but here we are i think not making this absolutely ridiculous love triangle would have made the story much better.
Not only do they jump from story line to story line nothing ever comes together. They say Eunyu murdered the chief husband but we never saw what happened until the very end so the whole time i was so confused, It’s a literal mess and i dont understand how anyone could have truly enjoyed this junk.
I did enjoy the military addition it was the only addition i liked. Becuase it absolutely made sense.
Unnecessary deaths and new additions : they killed the little boy’s sister so sudden no one was extreamly hurt except her does that make sense just to make him a little a-hole and do nothing meaningful with his character. The priest the sick girl other ppl who are taking shelter in the stadium is like none of those stories made sense. They killed Jisu for no reason. Took so long trying to get her hand stamp making it seem like something amazing was going to happen but was all a waste of time lol.
Had they focused on the monsters at he lab I think it would’ve been better.
Oh and dont remind of the weird doctor with the monster fetish they tried to make him quirky and funny but the portrayal was just annoying . also that girl who was with the old man and gave the military guy some mushrooms with was that??? It was weird and r*pey not at all funny or amusing.

FIRST FEW EPISODES PLAY WITH YOUR FEELINGS!
I WAS SO EXCITED FOR PART TWO. It could have been better. I waited 3 years to be disappointed. The first two minutes of the first episode gave off what I thought was the setting for this season which was wiping out all human kind and having monsters taking over the earth. which was proven wrong and made me confused. The next scene cuts to Hyun soo in a military vehicle with who we think is Wook Pyeon but is actually Eui Myeong using wook pyeon body (he died in season 1). Wook Pyeon escapes with Hyun soon. We learn the military need Hyun soo because he's special (half monster half human) and they need him for the cure. I'll list a few things I hated in episode 1.1) they killed a innocent man that was bleed because he had leukemia.
2) the military men were overly aggressive and rude.
3) they killed a monster that was trying to help a human child find its mom! the monster wasn't aggressive towards the humans. she put her hands up to show she wasn't going to hurt anyone. they also used the mom as bait to bring out the baby monster to try to kill it too.
4) the dog from season 1 escapes from its owner and we don't get any clarification what happened to the dog after that. what happened to the dog??!
one thing I did like was that Tak In-Hwan let the baby monster live because it didn't attack any of the soldiers or survivors.
in the second episode the military eventually catches Hyun soo and Dr. Lim has him fight another monster. He ends up seeing what his life was like before becoming a monster. We learn that Yi-Kyung's husband is still alive. at the end of episode 2 two of the surviving characters from season 1 die, but one of them became a monster.
they killed of half of the characters that survived season 1 in the first three of four episodes! Yi-Kyungs husband is alive but hes sacrifice himself to be a test subject for Dr. Lim. We learn the yi-kyung is pregnant with a monster and she eventually gives birth to a half monster half human baby. The military takes over and kills the people who wanted to take over the world with monsters. They added new characters that were a little confusing and random. I was confused on how they complained on them losing military men but they continued to kill off their men!?
Visually, Season 2 is better. the CGI is way more impressive. The different landscapes, you can tell they shot in different places around Korea and I think the stadium scene was shot it Nagoya, Japan! The attention to detail from gunfire to explosive scenes was amazing! this was more of a minor dislike but yi-kyung hating her daughter and wanting to kill her! Ah-yi was better off with Hyun soo!! why did she come back into that poor child's life! I think she would of turned out different.
The last few episodes leave you on cliff hangers and doesn't continue.
I hope season 3 is better and less confusing. STOP KILLING THE MAIN CHARACTERS!
