You can read above what the drama is about. However, I’ll review the characters. The ML and the FL were previously married in what seemed to be a one-sided love relationship. The relationship started with the FL finally being able to date her crush after he just broke up with his fiancé. Already the FL had doubts because on the side, the fiancé, would see her and question whether her love is enough to sustain the relationship of the FL and ML. After dating for a short period, they got married. At this time the FL cancelled her postgraduate study plan to be there as a wife to her husband whereas the husband was busy with his career. Obviously, you can imagine a timid and shy girl as a housewife and a husband who works all the time and never shares his troubles with her, you can only wonder if there is someone else, he confides in.
Anyway because of their lack of communication, expression of emotion to one another, and lack of trust they decided to divorce. The ML at the time was burdened with how to treat the FL because she was too nice to him. Now 6 years after the divorce they meet again for work purposes, and the FL requires the guidance of the ML. The ML seems like a cold character but if you honestly look at him, he simply can not express himself, and therefore resorts to childish ways in his pursuit of the FL. The ML finds it difficult to separate his identity of a teacher, ex-husband and love of interest when communicating with the FL, so you can imagine how many misunderstandings there must be on the FL’s side. The FL is no longer that shy, timid girl, she has become stronger on the outside and can stand for herself when necessary but that does not mean she is not soft hearted.
As I continue to watch, I hope to see the ML grow in his ability in expressing himself better towards his family and the FL. And I hope that the FL can show the ML that he is not the only male that she can attract and explore as a female. This will force the ML to admit and express his deepest hearts’ desires. In conclusion, I am enjoying this drama and you should not rely on reviews because we are all watching with different perceptions.

This Drama Made me Fall in Love With PGY

First of all this is the first drama I watch for both ML and FL.. haven’t watch any..
This drama can make you feel angry, sad, cry, happy, frust, hopeful, relieved , joy.
Since their both are ex husband and wife.. I can feel how disappointed the FL when she had to be operated for appendicitis but couldn’t contact her husband.. but its all misunderstanding issue.. the ML unromantic and didn’t know how to protect his marriage and just get along with the FL suggesting for divorced made the FL more disappointed and might think that he doesn’t love her.. since she just married to him because the ML ex GF ask for breakup. ML n FL get back together then broke up again then when they both are together after the 3rd proposal they both went to dhal where the ML got bombed. IF I be the FL I will stay at dhal until I makesure that the ML survived or not.. but she went back tu China and return to see Dr Ning got amnesia and the ending didn’t explain how n what the secret.. did the ML recover his memory or what.. i replayed it so many time but i didnt understand.. can someone explain to me.

Great Story

The only drawback for this drama is the awkwardness of some of the cast from the Dahl Hospital scenes. The language gap and lines were often difficult to watch because those actors were unaccustomed to the rhythm of line recital by the Chinese actors.

Aside from that, the chemistry between the protagonists was palpable. They did an excellent job of portraying two people that love each other deeply, but had difficulty communicating their thoughts and feelings, blaming each other and assuming the others intentions.

Overall, I was impressed with their performance and the way the story developed.

A very good drama but...

This drama actually has so many potential of being a great drama however, the ending really brought down. If you hate bad ending you can just watch til episode 30. Don't even hope of a second wedding bcus there's none. You should just imagine their wedding after episode 30.

WHAT I LOVE ABOUT THE DRAMA

The leads character and personality. Ning Zhiqian is the cold, logical, and stubborn person meanwhile, Ruan Liuzheng is the cute, emotional and sensible person. Both of them are so different, but they fill in each other's weaknesses and nurture each other. In my opinion, it was possible because of them are a neurosurgeon. They understand each other occupation. To be honest, I was really frustrated with Zhiqian character, I sympathize with Liuzheng a lot and that's probably because I'm a woman and I know how hard it is to love someone but felt like they don't love you as hard as you do. And when the part where Zhiqian was scheming to get back with Liuzheng, I was actually cursing him telling him that he should do more because his effort was nowhere near what Liuzheng had done for him before but regardless, Liuzheng still accepted him (i rolled my eyes at her after that kiss btw) gave him another chance because we all know she never stop loving him and you can basically see love pouring out of her eyes whenever she look at Zhiqian. This all became what I actually love about the show, because it hit close to reality. The reality is men doesn't really change and women will find 1 reason to stay with you even if they have 99 reasons not to.

WHAT WENT WRONG WITH THE DRAMA

100% everyone who watched the drama til the end said the same. This drama has an ending that was so unnecessary. It totally ruined the whole thing. It leaves viewers so unsatisfied. And approaching the end episode you were hoping that it wouldn't drag til the end but shit dragged til the end. For me the whole going back to Africa shouldn't happened. Especially after the roller coaster of emotion during the covid plot. They should probably give us more happy moments after the frustrating push and pull, the sickness of family members and the death of Liuzheng's dad. Xue Weilin relationship with that female doctor would be interesting than them going to Africa for the war plot.

THE ONLY GOOD THING I FOUND IN THE ENDING

I love the fact that amnesiac Zhiqian actually shows his fun self. He's actually a fun person, he loves being outside and loves to have fun and smiles a lot. That part of him was locked away due to his bad past and expectations. And as usual, Liuzheng, is still there, waiting and loving his amnesiac Zhiqian.

EXTRAS

- I really like their English conversation. It's clear and not cringy.
- Their actual age gap is 13 years apart but it didnt felt like in the movie. Peng Guanyin looks younger and Wang Churan looks mature than their actual age.

i watch because the FL and she is really reallyyyyyyyyy omggg ,,, i almost went crazy when saw her!


i really like the FL she is soo beautiful make my heart melt , its addict me in the first first eps and i really dont think this drama is very worst for rating low that 8 ,, but i dont like the ML ,but not very dont like ,maybe i think they better dont be together ,,not because they not match in role cast ,but i think she deserve the more best one

even they interaction together every day so causing love between of both rise again ,, but what i think is not like that ,, i really cant understand about the ML ,he look
very jerk, before they reconciliation ML always get jealous and always attract FL attention but when they get together he indifferent ,ignoring her ,, and when he want to end the relationship ,then himself didnt want to let her go ,,, a selfish one

before they haven't confirmed the relationship yet,, Their way of interaction is weird, and its very sudden, because they get along with each other like ussual way yesterday, and then tomorrow, they will be very intimate and have intimate interactions, and then they return to their usual way after tomorrow sometimes look very cool and indifferent ,so what i mean is they relationship not like slowburn step by step but if want to rate the step , maybe like 1- 2- 7 -8 -2 -1 again ,, so not like 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10


the girl said 6 years ago they divorce because they love is not equals because the girl efford more than him even after 6 years ,, her love for him is natural ,, then after they go together again after he said love her ,, she think its a equals love and hate him because he not realize it 6 years ago , but i think its still not ,,if he said it 6 years ago, the love still be not equals and the FL never be a good doctor because she love him more than being doctor and she willbgive up all of that ,,and maybe because of that they make a useless 6 / 7 last eps ,,, to make a reborn ML ,a reborn character

ep10 , zhang lei(juanzi brother ,cai granny son) what happened? dr ning punch him? or just stop him tk attack ruan and ding? ,, what happened? Even though if they add the scene, it's only for a few second but they didnt do. it , and its look very suddenly cut, I thought maybe later there would be a flashback but it turns out there wasn't either,

why her son sleep naked? even the parent still need extra clothes,its cool ,i think its very unnecessary


ep 14 15 16 the scene change look so weird so i listening the story review with speaker in 2 or 3 different web and found the synopsis different with the drama sequence,,, i dont know this is related or not

I want back my hours!! Does this plot even work today?!!

Cliche or age-old plots can also make great dramas i.e.Once We Get Married.

But not for this drama. The bad script makes the plot cringe-worthy and overused.

My intention was to explore the drama but went beyond 10 episodes mostly out of curiosity about the leads' initial divorce and if they would reconcile. Alas, it turns out nothing worthy of the time!

A recommended watch only if you really, really:-
(1) Enjoy such plots-love before marriage, break-up, reconciliation, angst, melodramatic situations, etc.
(2) Like the chemistry between the leads (forget about the second leads-very mediocre). I personally thought Wang Chu Ran looks great in this drama, a total eye-opener after watching her in Royal Feast (good but not outstanding).
(3) Wang Chu Ran & Peng Guan Ying are eye candy for sore eyes. They look good together and nail their part. For me, it's the only factor I managed to fast-forward the whole drama. That was the real pull for me in the beginning episodes but alas, the bad script really can't save the day.
(4) Want to release stress and tension by ranting and howling about the story

What was so wrong for me:-
(1) The length is too long. Shortening it to around 20-25 episodes would do the damage repair to the horrible script/storytelling.
(2) It should have stopped at episode 31 because all the episodes after that were unnecessary. It feels draggy, out-of-focus - simply "water injection" to forcefully add more episodes.
(3) Because of the length, they added in all the unrealistic/cliche/melodramatic/ridiculous plots all at once from episode 31 on-wards- come on, the female lead's father has cancer and died? The boy's (Ning Xiang) cancer recurrence? Amnesia? Go back to Africa again and re-meet? Gosh, it was unwatchable.
(4) The ending is also a rush after all that dramatic twists. So, does he remember her or not? So, do they start all over again or what?

'GIFT FROM HELL'

Basically its a story about an ex-husband and ex-wife who meet each other six years after divorce as mentor and student and how their relationship and of the ones around them evolve and change makes the story of the series
From the main leads having four proposals to snail paced story with irrelevant side tracks and unwanted deaths this one roller coaster ride which i wanted to stop as it started

But i have to say kudos for including people of colour and broadening the horizon of the viewers who might not be familiar, which is typically not seen in Asian dramas and its not their fault because these involve people from their respective countries which do not have a racially diverse population.

*SPOILERS AHEAD*
Initially the FL and ML start dating after he breaks up with another girl and they end up divorcing sometime after their marriage because of he is basically portrayed as a narcissist and does not seem to really love her at first.
When they meet again while in a foreign in country the FL's actions immediately puts her at the lower hand giving the ML the upper hand which is irritating to watch
Watching their whole dynamic is like watching someone bash their head on the wall over and over again

He is shown to have a son who is six years old but is revealed to be adopted which is a commendable act but at the beginning viewers will obviously assume its an affair baby or the result of a one night stand
Even when the FL was not aware of this she agreed to take care of the child and let her call mom (his mom abandoned him and he saw few pictures of FL which he then assumed to be his mother). In fact she seemed to be proud to do all this knowing very well why he left him Even her parents and brother support the ML for reasons no one knows why. She even spends the night at FL's house even though it reminds her of the pain she went through there. I don't know why they are together

The second lead guy was a really great guy but of course the FL likes to be with ML who is basically a JERK. The second lead couple stole the show they had good chemistry and even though it started awkwardly it blossomed well.

I was really confused when one night randomly the ML and FL makeup and sleep together like nothing happened before, why did they get divorced if there was nothing wrong between them because i never saw them putting work to fix their issues. The ML then put up a half-baked proposal to remarry which I'm glad the FL rejects which makes him work more hard to make up a better proposal which was actually put together by someone else for money and ML did not put any effort. He also then starts to care about her like and dislikes for the first time. Also the FL comes to her senses and breaks up after he wants to obtain marriage license on.

It was really a waste of good talent to portray such cynical and weird roles. Its just really makes the viewer upset ,just pure disappointment. The main leads get back together without even acknowledging what went wrong between them, which is just a recipe for disaster

PS- I do not intend to spread hate to the actors and production team involved this is just a honest review of viewer and maybe i was too critical of it i don't know.

this is not it. worst drama ive ever watched.

first and foremost, it is the dumbest storyline ive ever watched. reading the synopsis you might think, OH its a cute second-chance romance kind of story. well, not at all. first of all, 90% of the relationship is one-sided from the FL. they divorced because she was deeply hurt by the ML's actions. not only did he not apologise, he was the EXACT SAME PERSON after they reunited.

then somehow the writers thought it would be a brilliant idea to add an adopted child to the mix, who calls FL "mom" all along and instead of explaining things to the child, the FL and ML just go along with it. after many episodes, the FL and ML somehow end up engaged again. then FL doesnt want to be engaged with ML. then they get together again. then ML cancels the engagement all together. the worst thing about it is that whenever they break up, ML starts getting jealous over FL and SML while she enjoys the attention and is quick to forgive him.

so after 36 episodes, they barely resolved the basic issue of why they divorced in the first place. ML doesnt like FL that much and does hurtful things to her.

and then in the end, he gets amnesia and forgets FL! the end!

Back and forth!!

They did not truly show me how tf they ended up as a married couple. A lot of things were glossed over. At one point the FL tells the ML that she met his mother once... and then in the next episode or so they do a flashback where he tells her parents (1st engagement) that she has met his Mom and she loved her. Not a big deal just wanted to talk about it because it bugged me.

The story was kind of engaging but you don't understand the ML until the end I guess. There were MANY times I was like "Girl, why him??" Still no answer besides "love" I guess... I wanted to root for the 2nd ML but this show already told me who the main character was and I just don't get it. He was also a little annoying but better but I really could not avoid rallying for the OTP.

3 engagements???!!! Dang.

The real reason I'm here is because WTF!!!!!!????????!!!!!!!! They jumped from her dad dying, to COVID then to surgery for their "kid" then the Dad dying AS SOON AS HE ARRIVED HOME FROM THE HOSPITAL (?) to them finishing a successful surgery, and then when the kid is healed it's been a month?? and then they have the funeral... THEN!!!!! AFRICA??!!! again... *rolls eyes* and what happens in Africa is annoyingly ridiculous. I just... am really debating whether the last two eps are worth watching.

*could totally care less about the lawyer or doctor couple
*OTP couple kisses were ruined bc the ML has smoker lips and all I could think about was cigarettes.

I think this is the first drama we saw this FL in and she is really good and I can't wait to check out more of her work. Hopefully she has a better written ML in that one. He just suddenly changed?? I don't understand..

Love Heals nothing here.

The premise of the story and the beautiful cast pulled me into this story, and yet this was a case of a misguiding title and synopsis. I love second chance stories and I really wanted to like this series, but after so many episodes I started questioning the leads relationship more and more. They learn nothing, there are never apologies for awful behavior from the ML, and it is frustrating to see how the FL forgives him and gives in so easily. It is also questionable how the ML uses his child to guilt trip his ex wife and force her to stay in his life. The show wanted it to be cute, and yes, the child actor was cute, but what was happening was still despicable considering the circumstances of their relationship and divorce years ago.
For all the great chemistry between the actors, which is undeniable, I could not like them together and by the time they broke up (again) I just wanted this series to be over. I couldn't sit through the final episodes, but I doubt they could redeem either of the characters by that point.

Could do a better on lesser episodes

I love stories like this, divorced couple getting back together.
This has started strong but getting round in circles in mid episode (20s).
the presence of Xue Wei Lin is getting annoying, I don't think a high calibre lawyer would swallow all his pride even seeing the very obvious evidence that both couple are still into each other. Their scenes are getting cringy.

Couple's problem was not address when they got divorced, reading between the lines will never work . We have to consider that even you have known each other for the longest time there are still individual indifferences and couple should talk and communicate, compromise and understand.

I might wait til it's done so I can forward scenes.
