Both dramas are centered around the friendship of group of seemingly very different women. They share their hardships and happy days, they fight and then they make up but most importantly, they always have each others' back.
Both dramas sometimes contain similar story tropes but as main leads are in different age groups, these tropes get solved somewhat differently.

Both dramas have quite short episodes (WLDN 30 minutes, AOY 45 minutes per episode)

Age of Youth is about 5 flatmates in their early 20s. The drama is about their everyday life, college struggles and first loves. Each main lead represents some basic stereotype (there is girly girl, innocent shy girl, sexy minx, serious hardworking girl, free-spirited girl). The drama is more slice-of-life centered.

Work Later, Drink now is about 3 friends in their early 30s who drink together every day. They are somewhat losers - one of them is pretty but very stupid, one of them is a bit of a weirdo, the last one falls in love with pitiful men when shes drunk. The drama is more focused on ridiculous comedy and it is more adult oriented.

Both are about three female friends navigating through life. Both are set in a broadcasting station (in a way). One of the friends is a writer in both dramas. Be melodramatic focuses on drama making and documentaries, whereas the writer in Work Later, Drink Now works on a variety show.

Let’s just say both female leads are variety show’s writer and that point is really interesting.

Looks like all variety show writers are real ‘active’ and ‘outgoing’!!!

So far, very lovely ???

Despite different settings and main story, the dramas have similar vibe in terms of quirkiness and eccentric characters:

Both dramas are centered around very zany characters and bizarre/ absurd comedy.

The main themes of both dramas are found family and really strong friendships.

Three female friends kept musing over hypothetical “what if” questions as they struggled with romance and work. The three of them who have been good friends from the time they were in high school are now 33.

Both dramas follow lives of people who, after their busy work, head to a bar for a bottle (or two!) of soju. Both dramas focus on drinkig culture, food, everyday life issues and crazy epic friendship dynamics (for WLDN it's 3 main female leads, for DS it is Noryangjin male trio)
