let me start off by saying I loved season 1 but this season was trash. I don't get the first six episodes at all the timeline was not adding up.with Pete and ae and tin and can it made absolutely no sense ,ae was suffering so much and it was so hard to watch. don't even get me started on tin and can's chemistry ?it was barely there and the kissing was so dry...they didn't look like they were in love , Kla and No barely got any screen time, I would've loved to see their love develop more instead of No constantly running and pushing Kla away (I might be a bit biased) but with out Saint the show wasn't good . the bullying of Earth was not nice at all

Probably my least favorite BL ever...

Okay so....
1. Last season, I could totally feel Kla's manipulation. I knew the relationship was wrong, especially the ending. BUT THIS SEASON!!!! I thought we were past the whole 'rape to force two guys closer' trope. Every scene I could barely watch because I was so disgusted, knowing Kla raped No and got away with it. (But at least Tum and Tar didn't end up together)
2. Why did they have so many crying Ae scenes. We get it, he's sad, I don't need 15 different scenes telling me that.
3. I didn't buy the TinCan chemistry. It seemed forced and unnatural.
4. I loved the directing of the first season. I don't know if the director changed, but the entire feel of the cinematography felt different. It lost it's special touch. It might just be the team trying out something new but I did not like it.
5. The music was the only good part ngl
6. WHY WAS THERE LIKE 4 SCENES WITH EARTH IN THE ENTIRE SHOW??? I literally watched it only to see him and I got nothing. He one of the most talented actors in the cast, why did they bring him back this season to do nothing?
7. Y'all don't watch it. It's an awful sequel, and even as a standalone it would be awful. I might just be nostalgic for the original series, but this was totally a step down. Studio Wabi Sabi's dramas are always hit or miss, and this one was definitely a miss.

The first season wasn't perfect, but THIS was like a slap in the face.

I'll try to make this as brief as possible, but my bitterness might lead to some lengthy ranting.

First off, the soft reboot, or the new timeline as the fans have called it. It happened way too quick and fast--the sudden realization that the writers had made a TERRIBLE mistake. At first I think it's a funny callback; Can is almost run over by a car again and bows to the statue AGAIN. Ha, that's funny! Just like the first season. And then the feeling of deja-vu won't go away,a and it sinks in. The writers really thought they had enough time in 13 episodes to not only REDO the first season's story, but also continue it and fit in another storyline. Obviously, it didn't fucking work. You could barely make anyone feel like a real person in the 14 episodes of the first season, but you thought "Yeah, we'll do that and MORE in even LESS time" in the second. I want whoever thought of doing this to kick themselves in the ass, and I want whoever allowed it without saying a word to kick themselves in the face (however physically impossible that might be). Not only did they clearly not have enough time, they also quite embarrassingly WASTED it on product placements, of all things (by the third scene centered about how much they love snacks and juice and "VITAMIN C" I was rendered speechless and I had heartburn), and a new couple whose only real value in the show was to serve as eyecandy for their marketing material (they are not even characters; they are walking tropes with mouths and nice hair).

Let's not even get into how they did poor Ae's character. This man's only purpose in the show was to mope, shout and cry for 13 episodes. I'm not even exaggerating. The rest of the friendly and entertaining cast from the first? Reduced to one or two lines about how depressed Ae is or how wacky Can is, with suddenly no agency or even at least comedic value of their own. I'm not even going to mention the other couples, because they weren't even good in the first season, what's to like about their even EXISTING in the second season? I can't say. At all.

The reason why so many of us are angry is because it is such a waste of potential. The first season could've been the setup for more interesting and further developed dynamics between the characters. "Yeah but they have the novel as source material, they needed to follow the plot" I hear you say. Uh there's a reason it's called a live ADAPTATION and not a fucking audiobook, they can stray from whatever they'd like if it means making it more cohesive to fit the new medium and just overall a better experience. I haven't read the novel, and at this point I don't really care to. I just want to forget I even wasted my time on one of the worst sequels I've ever had the displeasure of viewing.

My honest opinion

Watching the entire season I could understand better why they reset tincan history, and honestly? I live for it.
Because of Pete and Ae breakup we could pay attention to Can's insecurities about love relationships and about fall in love with someone with the possibility to get hurt like his friend. And got to see all the history of Tin it was so good, and more about his relationship with his family and the motives that shaped this arrogant personality of his. Overall it's a good season and people should watch. Some parts are really boring, like Ae's drinking and always thinking about Pete and nothing else, but if you discard some of this, will really like the second season.

Not all good not all bad

First the good, I know I'm in the minority, but I enjoyed watching a re-telling of the story. Perhaps because a love affair between two such different men is interesting to me. The childish, impulsive, fiercely loyal Can paired with the cool , calculating (almost cold) controlled Tin appeals to me. Probably because of the excellent job the led actors did in taking on the characters. They became Can and Tin instead of merely portraying them. This series is worth watching if for no other reason than seeing Plan and Mean work against each other. The chemistry is certainly there. This particular story is finished in this series but I'd like to see them together in other series . Another positive note was Meen's nasty big brother role. Yeah you really got to hate him. Stealing the show however was the bratty nephew whose name I can't locate. Cute kid, lots of talent. Finally Yacht's lovably annoying Pond is great.
Another reason to watch is the sensitive and classy way the sex angle was handled. This is a story of college age young men, not children, so to pretend that they just sigh into each others eyes and hold hands is unrealistic.
The bad was pretty bad. Too many disjointed story lines shifting and jumping about. Perth's considerable talents are completely wasted. The secondary romances seemed to be cobbled together just to provide something to eat up air time. None of them are really interesting. But neither were they explored in any depth. It could have been so much better with a little effort.
Should the reader watch it. I think so. As flawed as it is, it does have some positive moments. Would I watch it again. Yes I will.

Perth Tanapon was the best actor of that bunch and Can was a pint-sized - though slightly dull-witted - knight in shining armor. Basically.

What truly got me, though, was the TulHin pairing. Maybe because it came out of left field, totally out of nowhere, and stole my heart. Hin was so soft and kind and sweet and around him, Tul became a better man. Tul was a bastard. Don’t get me wrong, his terrible backstory explained his behavior, but even Hin who was head over heels for him found his actions inexcusable. And yet, he still couldn’t stop loving Tul...

So yeah, TulHin were THE pairing of this drama for me. Their dynamics, the fact that Hin never stopped calling Tul “Khun Tul”, it all fascinated me to me no end. And they were also very hot together.

TinCan was cute, I’m still mad that they didn’t bother to ask Saint to do at least a cameo and I didn’t care at all about the rest. Also, the product placements were downright ridiculous.

A chance to make things make things great... but ended ???

What I like:
1. Musical scoring is ok.
2. Character development were ok, not the best, but ok.
3. Actors can act.
4. It is not like Oxygen. Thank the gods for not including flatness in this series. Though the main actors here seems to just act without trying their best, it is not flat as the main in O2. Also, the series did not include annoying side characters.

What I don't like:
1. Too many pairs. This series has a lot of couples but screen time for each secondary pairs were minimal.
2. No solid arcs for the secondary pairs. They are an afterthought.
3. The ending is just 'meh' for the main couple (Ending for me is EP 12). As for the other partners, since their story were not developed well, the resolution to their arcs were an after thought. And to think that each episode is 40-45 minutes on average is just sad. TH BLs need to re-school their script writing and story telling prowess to take advantage of their longer screen time.
3. The story really starts midway of this entire series. Might be due to the director's or the writer 's decision to tell this story in an alternate universe. But that cause them precious episodes and left them no room to develop arcs for secondary characters.
4. Too many flashbacks.

Now, these are purely my viewing experience watching this series. It might differ greatly from to yours. :)

Not impressed.

Awkward acting. Mediocre production. Bad storyline. But with cute scenes here and there. Basically I'm bored to the max. I just keep watching to complete what I've started.

Nothing good to say. Moreover the series airing period overlapped with I Told Sunset About You. It makes me feel to compare the quality for both of the series even more. While ITSAY has only 5 episodes, they gave me Triple more satisfaction than what A chance to love provide.

Pity.. cuz actually I like what they have done on LBC. For this one, it a no go.

This was not good...

No chemistry with the leads- AT ALL. Every single interaction felt forced and uncomfortable to watch.
All Ae did was mope around the ENTIRE season... like wtf is the point. I know Saint and Perth have their irl situation going on but they could have at least written a story for him.
I now understand why Perth and Mean won't be doing anymore bl- it's just not their thing and it shows.
The whole side story with Tin's brother was really unnecessary and too much time was wasted on his character.
The only people I enjoyed in this drama was Techno and Kla. The two actors who had the most chemistry and delivered their cringe lines the best pretty much had the least screen time- go figure.
I've been reading the comments and a 3rd season might be in the works and if that's the case I would only watch it with Techno and Kla as the mains otherwise- not interested.

If you watched the first season, do yourself a favor and just skip this one as it's really not worth it.

WASTED

Like almost everyone here, this was pretty disappointing to me. LBC was one of my favorite BL ever (and 90% of the reason was Perth and his amazing acting, coupled with his "best boyfriend ever" character). However, in Season 1, my least favorite characters were TinCan (i know I'm in the minority here, but Tin's acting was wooden and Can bordered on someone on the spectrum, no offense to those who are). So to have an entire season focus on them was a stretch for me from the beginning.

But then to just repeat all the same scenes, sometimes LESS effectively was an entire waste of time. It's season TWO. The story progresses. Or don't call it Season 2. Call it Tin/Can: A New Beginning or something. And to play with the timeline and canon of the first season is just lazy, sloppy and amateur writing.

Overall, I felt like I was just re-watching Season 1 but with all of the good parts removed.

Another unpopular opinion of mine... I actually think both Tin & Can were better this season. What I liked LEAST about Tin was his stiff, wooden, pouty portrayal. He just could't pull off the tough guy. Even in Season 1, when he softened and showed his love for Can he got much better. So to have his character somewhat softer here actually worked for me. Then the second half of the season had him focusing on his brother and the horrible "I'm mad all the time" face came out again and I was done with Tin. Plan is the only actor who could play Can in my mind. And I think this role suits him perfectly. With any other actor he would have been too whiny, too childish, too foolish. Somehow, Plan makes him adorable, loveable, sweet, tender. But I don't think he has the acting chops to do much else. I've seen him in other roles and he's either doing a version of Can or just playing himself. (And in all the BTS footage he looks like he's miserable the entire time). He is obviously so uncomfortable in the kissing scenes that he should have asked to limit them to just one, or never accepted a role in a BL series.

This was an infuriating slap in the face to fans. The creators obviously think we're stupid and don't care about things like logic, physics, pre-established characters/roles/relationships/resolutions. Shame on them!

Worst of all, Perth is wasted. I feel bad for him personally. It looks like the break with Saint was quite devastating. Professionally, having to play such a limited character when we've seen him and the character do so much more. Thankfully, as an actor he can cry on cue and that was all he was asked to do here. I hope for so much better for him in the future.

tincan deserved better

Do not get me wrong, i love tincan--REALLY LOVE THEM. In fact, I enjoyed LBC1 solely because of TinCan, not that I do not love PeteAe's story but TinCan's dynamics was out there, their chemistry is oozing out from the screen. So, I was really excited for this season because im finally seeing tincan get their much deserved spotlight.

I was deeply disappointed.

First, the story. Why did they retcon TinCan's story to them not seeing each other before? The ending of LBC1 was a perfect avenue to continue the development of Can's true feelings to Tin, it could have been a mature, tender story of accepting one's true love to someone regardless of their gender. It instead reverses back to square one and it became the cliche " i love him what do I do" series we have seen hundreds of times before. The story was dragged so much the first 4 or 5 episodes, literally nothing happens. I was ready to drop this series altogether if not for TinCans story, which should be the main focus, but the script dwindles from Ae's heartbreak to other unnecessary subplots.

The new characters are, dare I'll say it, worthless to say the least. They add NOTHING to the story but only to carry the story further into new episodes. I only remember one character who is at least important which is Gonhin which is Tul's love interest. Heck even their story is unpolished and underdeveloped as hell as they only told their full story at literally the last episode. I could've enjoyed Gonhin and Tul's story more if it was fleshed out more, like told them at parts scattered throughout the episode, they instead dragged TinCan's boring storyline and Ae's longing for pete. They set aside Sammy and yacht's character as if they weren't even there in the first place and instead focused on the new characters.

Ae's story in here is tender but can be removed altogether in the rest of the series. I get that we needed at least some closure on why pete is not there, but they again dragged it to the limit. Ae's story can be told for one episode only, but I feel like for the sake of the fans, they streched it far too long. They even had a surprise at the ending which confused me instead of exciting me.

As for the acting, it's all right. Mean as Tin is really meant for each other, and his acting significatly improved from the first season. Plan as Can is ok too, if you are not familiar at his antics then you will be annoyed at him, but as a fan like me, it was good. Ae is meh, he is always sad at the entirety of the series, no character development at all which did not do justice at Perth's acting prowess. Tul needs more acting workshops as his delivery of lines at the emotional moments are a hit and miss. Gonhin is good however, giving his role justice.

I expected a lot from this series that's probably why I was really let down by the end. TinCan's story has nuance on the first season and they completely destroyed it here. I wish they just continued their story from s1 which for me can lead to a much better series.

I know wabi sabi can do a lot better than this. I am not mad at the characters or the production company at all, I was just deeply dissappointed.

If there truly is a season 3, i wish they could save this season. Or if not, end the season from here.

Great and sweet bl , HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

A chance to love was a great show for me. If you see as an individual show rather than a sequel then it comes out to be in the list of top 10 bl shows. As it was pg15, the story was not intense but rather family dramatic. But there are many sweet moments that make your heart flutters and the chemistry is just awesome.
I feel that it was a good decision by the writers to show another version of tin can story rather than continuing with the prequal because let's be honest their ending in that show was too painful to start a new show with. As the denial of confession was shown again after building their relationship from start, you feel less hurt and stay with the story. You get connected with the story more. I liked techno and kengkla story as well. The issue which a lot of people had about their story in the prequel was well addressed and their story was also cute.
The plot was dramatic but i think because of this we saw really raw sides of tin and can. I swear I cried with tin when he cried in the shower (PS SPOILER ALERT he didn't cry because of can). So at the end, the story did justice for me.
Overall this show was very soothing and loving for me. It gave me a source of comfort and made my heart warm
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! ATLEAST TRY AND I AM SURE YOU WON"T REGRET
