tincan deserved better

Do not get me wrong, i love tincan--REALLY LOVE THEM. In fact, I enjoyed LBC1 solely because of TinCan, not that I do not love PeteAe's story but TinCan's dynamics was out there, their chemistry is oozing out from the screen. So, I was really excited for this season because im finally seeing tincan get their much deserved spotlight.

I was deeply disappointed.

First, the story. Why did they retcon TinCan's story to them not seeing each other before? The ending of LBC1 was a perfect avenue to continue the development of Can's true feelings to Tin, it could have been a mature, tender story of accepting one's true love to someone regardless of their gender. It instead reverses back to square one and it became the cliche " i love him what do I do" series we have seen hundreds of times before. The story was dragged so much the first 4 or 5 episodes, literally nothing happens. I was ready to drop this series altogether if not for TinCans story, which should be the main focus, but the script dwindles from Ae's heartbreak to other unnecessary subplots.

The new characters are, dare I'll say it, worthless to say the least. They add NOTHING to the story but only to carry the story further into new episodes. I only remember one character who is at least important which is Gonhin which is Tul's love interest. Heck even their story is unpolished and underdeveloped as hell as they only told their full story at literally the last episode. I could've enjoyed Gonhin and Tul's story more if it was fleshed out more, like told them at parts scattered throughout the episode, they instead dragged TinCan's boring storyline and Ae's longing for pete. They set aside Sammy and yacht's character as if they weren't even there in the first place and instead focused on the new characters.

Ae's story in here is tender but can be removed altogether in the rest of the series. I get that we needed at least some closure on why pete is not there, but they again dragged it to the limit. Ae's story can be told for one episode only, but I feel like for the sake of the fans, they streched it far too long. They even had a surprise at the ending which confused me instead of exciting me.

As for the acting, it's all right. Mean as Tin is really meant for each other, and his acting significatly improved from the first season. Plan as Can is ok too, if you are not familiar at his antics then you will be annoyed at him, but as a fan like me, it was good. Ae is meh, he is always sad at the entirety of the series, no character development at all which did not do justice at Perth's acting prowess. Tul needs more acting workshops as his delivery of lines at the emotional moments are a hit and miss. Gonhin is good however, giving his role justice.

I expected a lot from this series that's probably why I was really let down by the end. TinCan's story has nuance on the first season and they completely destroyed it here. I wish they just continued their story from s1 which for me can lead to a much better series.

I know wabi sabi can do a lot better than this. I am not mad at the characters or the production company at all, I was just deeply dissappointed.

If there truly is a season 3, i wish they could save this season. Or if not, end the season from here.
