High politics in an engaging way. Almost no romance to distract from the exciting bigger plot. Lots of characters to love, hate or simply love to hate. Close knit team of hardworkers coming together.

Although one drama (Chief of Staff) directly revolves around a group of people and their role in the political field and the other drama (House of Owls) focuses more on someone who is pulling the strings in the background, are both similar in terms of theme, plan scheming of the characters and corruption. Both are highly recommendable if someone enjoys a well structured political drama.

Three months before the presidential nominating convention, Jang Il Joon, from the New Wave Party, declared his candidacy. On that same day, a woman died in a gas explosion in Sam Chuk. Yoo Min Ki, a documentary producer, heard of his mother's sudden death and headed back home. As he cast his mother's ashes in the sea, he thought of his childhood: his father always blurted out that Min Ki was not his son whenever he was drunk. After the funeral, Min Ki returned to Seoul and Jang Il Joon asked Min Ki to work as a PR agent to record the election campaign process. When Min Ki asked Il Joon why he was chosen, Il Joon confessed that Min Ki was his son. Min Ki soon begins to suspect that his mother's death was not an accident and that Il Joon had actually killed her.

It's the second season for chief of staff. Story begins with exactly where its end it's not like just the name are same and it's a complete new story with new cast. But it's the same story just the second phase with the same cast. Same entertainment and excitement and acting

Power struggles to rule over Daehan Minguk (South Korea) presenting the main issue in both the dramas, the main in CoS is driven by ambition while those in TDJ are driven by revenge and righteousness. The push and pull tactics of politics, money and power trips are exhilaratingly displayed in both the masterpieces.
