If you have a fluffy heart... read at your own risk.
What I like:
Great OST
Very artsy opening and ending credits.
Gorgeous, handsome, fresh (too fresh?) main leads.
Side couple that kept the series sane.
What I had found out:
1. A series with a lot of hype and great promised but was not able to deliver within 3 episodes.
2. A script that was lazily lifted from the book without considering the impact when translating it into a series/cinema thereby impacting greatly into a negative viewing experience.
3. Leads with mediocre acting prowess that could have been saved by a great script (but none is found) and great directing, but that too seems lacking. I mean, didn't they get to have acting workshop before shooting this one?
4. BL side couple with acting prowess which kept the series sane. Long live PhuXKhao!
5. An arc was added to try to include 'something new' into the story, but was not handled well and turned out into ridiculous characters and character development.
6. A well-budgeted production with history of racism towards people with color and gender preferences which clearly translates into its series, again impacting negatively to the viewing experience.
ALSO, if you say that this series is so great, I believe you need to expose your self to much wider media, not just in BL, with deep storyline, actors with acting prowess and great directing so you will know why this one failed. AND if you declare and say that as a "student of film" and praise this one, I will smack you with my thick "Cinematography: Theory and Practice" book.
Again, this is just purely the viewing experience that I had felt watching it up to the 4th episode. After that, I lost interest with the flat, robotic-like acting. AND I did try, thrice I think, to re-watch because there is a great visuals, but no, it really is flat. Even PhuXkhao can't make me stay for a minute more.

A "gentle" show so far.
In my opinion the most accurate way to describe this show so far is "gentle".Unlike most BL show, right from the first 10 minutes of the first episode you can tell who are the 3 main couples.
2 of the couples are obviously gay characters from their immediate chemistry, you could almost see them undress each other in their minds lol.
Since the plot is moving so fast right from the get go, there are several plot holes that i hope will be filled later on.
The music, vibe and editing are all "gentle" and slow, maybe a little bit more realistic then most bl shows.
So far it's pretty good ^_^.
To tell the truth though, it feels more like a 5 episodes series then a 13 episodes one..

Expected more :/
There is ALOT to unpack. There is only 4 eps now so I may edit later. To say in simple terms: this show is cringy. The acting is awkward and there seems to be no connection with the actors. The show has basic unoriginal bl plots: college, guy overly obsessive with other guy and still chasing after him after being told no a million times(khao to phu), girl who fetishizes gay couples and is shown as some "quirky" girl (khim), and the plot is overall boring. But i definitely see it becoming better as episodes go by and i see some potential but just lots of cringe rn.Cet avis était-il utile?
Love This Series !!!!!
So episode 8 of My Oxygen just came out this morning on YouTube. I'm scrolling through the comments on the video and someone said this series is getting bad reviews on this website but, I'm here to give it a good one. Every Saturday I feel joy knowing a new episode of My Oxygen is coming out. I look at my phone waiting to see the notification that the episode is out. I have to give this bl a 10 and the series is not even over. The series didn't even fully get into the drama from what I've seen from the trailer. I haven't finished episode 8 yet so let me get back to it. HEARTS AND KISSES FROM THE US.Cet avis était-il utile?
MY INTROVERT ASS REVIEW
I usually don't give a fuck bout review coz I'm not tht talkative but this one catches my entirely attention to the point I can't go to sleep just because thinking the other ep or maybe gonna need some warm milks too 😏. anyway this series was actually good on its own way,the vibe it's giving and situation is absolutely different, I can understand the plot very well too, it's kinda kicking my introvert ass because I can see that this were something more interesting and of course the actor were pleased to the eyes not just me but everyone too as i can't stop from being their fans already . beside tht maybe im gonna have a total idol in my life for the 4 something times HAHA. the production is still manageable and mostly will be amazing when the time comes coz the potential it's having was on par with many bl's drama/series who end ups get trending. moreover what I hope is for them(the company) to continuing with this series also im gotta keep on supporting those actor coz I like seeing theirs genuine smile like solo and guitar 🥺. In addition to tht idk what more to say coz I'm speechless till I can't even properly express myself in this moment where I got a tons of bottle up feeling mix except disgust. Now don't get me wrong I've just mention it not truly disgusted coz im been falling hard on them and it's their fault for to catch feeling for humph 🙊. soo that's all and have a nice day, slowly but surely I will find the one who will share the same breath with me or what we say rn is OUR OXYGENNNN arghhh...Cet avis était-il utile?

Soft and Endearing...
Oxygen was probably the most anticipated BL series of 2020 based on all the hype and buzz that I've seen on social media. I've read so many people stating that Oxygen was the BL that they were most excited for so my expectation for the series was quite high. The premiere episode was cute and charming though a bit disappointing considering its massive hype. It was great to see multiple BL couples being formed. As others have noted, it was also refreshing to see characters be comfortable with their feelings for another guy, instead of struggling with them (though there is nothing wrong with that either). So far, I'm liking Solo and Gui the best, which is perfect as they are the lead BL couple. Though I don't like Khim, the annoying fujoshi character, I'm still excited to see more!
This series is slow, but the interactions between Solo and Gui are so cute as Solo becomes more forward while the scenes between Kao and Phu are quite endearing as Kao begins to break down Phu's walls. Upon watching Episode 3, I have become hooked and can see this series start to live up to its hype! I am really liking how this series takes its time showing the blossoming relationships between its main couples. I don't care for Dr. Perth and Khim's budding relationship though.

started strong but it went downhill with determination
I only finished the show, because I was looking forward to a "3-years-later-happily-ever-after"-scene for Kao and Phu, but as the season progressed even the happy-bunny couldn't save this show...Both the main couple, as well as Kao/Phu and the doctors started out strong, but the "mysteries" surrounding Solo and Phu were - simply speaking - lacking. (I won't speak about the whole Khi(/e)m-Doctor fiasco, I refuse).
It may have been the subtitles translations, but non of the "obstacles" the couples faced seemed anything but childish exaggerations.
(Also if you wanna run away with your lover get some cash before daddies freezes your bank account. Seriously, that's running-away-101... And don't let your boyfriend make decisions (or drive a vehicle) if he hadn't had barely anything to eat for "weeks"! That's just asking for running-away-without-a-plan-destination-or-money-and-turning-around-before-you-eve-left-the-city and a fainting-behind-the-wheel-accident).
The apostrophes around weeks are there, because there is no feeling of time in the series. The plot could have developed over a couple of weeks or months. No idea.
In addition to the subpar plot the acting (except maybe Kao, Khim, Khem and sometimes Phu) is rather stiff and dull. But to be fair to the actors: it is hard to flesh out characters emotionally if the plot glosses over any scenes that could show characterization or character growth.
All in all: I have seen worse, but this show could have benefitted from something called storytelling.
Also please, for the love of everything holy, abandon the old "boys-don't-cry" and
"emotionally-distant-father-only-means-well-with-the-abuse-we-promise-he-meant-well" clichés. They are getting old.

I Needed Oxygen to Stay Awake
Well this was a very big, boring disappointment. I actually read the novel that this BL was based on. While the novel itself wasn’t hugely exciting, it was cute and heartwarming. You saw why Solo was attracted to someone like Guitar. He brought light and smile to his life. They really needed each other. I don’t think that the drama conveyed the novel in the same way. It was just very boring and hard for me to even finish. The acting was stilted and the actors did not fit the characters from the novel. They didn’t fit them looks or even in characteristics. And how they portrayed them in the drama was not how they were in the book. They just ended up being very unremarkable, like how did this even get made?! Whether you read the novel or not, going into this you have some expectations of what a BL drama should and can be. Sometimes you can give up a little bit of the acting for newcomers if the story is interesting or the actor has charisma to lend to their character. But none of this was the case with this drama. I will very much forget it after today and I will probably never think about it again. I might read the novel sometime in the future if I have nothing else to read. Also, can I just say that Thai dramas have some of the worst music of any BLs out there. I know it’s a preference, but I really don’t care for Thai pop music at all. I don’t like the sound of it and I don’t like the singing, it just really sounds terrible to me. But to make things worse this drama had weird moments where you just had harp music. And this wasn’t as a joke, it was serious. But it was a very odd choice and really would ruin the mood for me many times throughout the series

a good paired Maincopuple with a random story.
As i saw the first Three Episodes, i really enjoyed this, cause of the good chemistry between Sol and Gui.But then it‘s getting boring and feels like an old bubblegum.
The Mainstory should be dramatic (there are Problems with an Orphanage, a bad father, a jealous lover, etc),but it doesn’t feel dramatic, there is no impact in the scenes and it feels all still nice and slow
(sometimes a little bit cheesy too.)
The sidestories are skippable too for me and i couldn’t get a good Connection to the Characters.
To be mentiod would be the good Theme Song and the sweet love story between Sol and Gui especially in the begining and the end of this series.

Re-use
Same formula. All of the characters are like the same characters we have seen in other bls. Nothing new nothing especial. I was excited at the beginning because I thought Solo and Gui were really cute, but then I couldn't even keep myself awake watching the series. And the side characters are like a re use set of characters. Khao)(kao?) and phu were the only saving grace *and even then I felt like it was a drag*. Solo story was so slow that I even forgot he had a "complicated" storyline, it wasn't even well written, Gui's story was meh, i am everybody's. There's nothing new here, i am pretty sure that what you see here, you'll see it in two hundred others bls.Cet avis était-il utile?

Tooooooooo GOOD
The music of the series is way too good, I’ve watched so many series but i swear i honestly like the music here the most it’s my favourite already. The story plot line- we don’t know much how it’s gonna be coz it just started but i feel there are deeper stories hidden which will unreveal in the later episodes.
The actors - To be honest it’s my first time seeing all the these actors acting probably I haven’t watched these actors other series(if they have acted in other series)
But in this series i can honestly say “They’ve acted so well”
Like Gui and solo very quiet / but straightforward which makes the audience breathless and needing more “oxygen” like the title itself says: 55555
Solo is like a confident gay in the series (he’s eyes speaks it up all which gives a really good feeling to the audience he doesn’t even have to say anything as his eyes speaks it up for him sweetness overloaded and Gui a little quiet but a caring one.
Also not forgetting “Phu and Koa” they are just adorably cute....! Phu looks like a stern and not friendly guy but i know he will have deeper stories for this. And Koa is an open minded / extrovert .
Just like people says opposite character attracts more!
As a fan if BL i always want sweet moments coz we all know it’s not possible in real life. So atleast make the audience happy in the series world.
I have to wait for a week for each episode wanting more oxygen for me to breathe (Ps-Honest fact 5555)
I’m definitely rewatching again and again hahaha coz the series makes me breathless just like the title “OXYGEN”
Definitely worth it.... :)
xoxox much love from Nagaland . .
