starts okay, but only gets weirder (and not in the good way)
I'll be real with you: I only finished this show, because of Toptap/Mike and Jan (and because I can't leave a story unfinished, no matter how bad...)The plot was unoriginal and the character development was random and sudden. (I don't mind twists and sudden confessions, but can show makers please start using hints again? Like it doesn't need to be obvious, but if a character suddenly declares that they've been in love all along, to make the other one forgive him for kissing someone else, it does feel like a cheap buy out. Especially when that character was really homophobic in front of his male object of affection in the beginning, like come on!)
Also I see where they were going with the end, everyone is a big happy family, but it still felt wrong to me somehow.
Overall I think the plot (and Tonhon's character development) was rushed, but I am also glad that the show only had 10 episodes, because I don't know how much longer I could have taken it.

Best quality in both production and storytelling
If you're looking for a well-written and beautifully produced BL that leaves you craving more, congrats on finding it!The five episodes, each a little over an hour, give both the story as well as the characters time to develop and flourish. The relationship between the main characters feels real and natural. No sudden change of mind, like in other BL's.
Production and Cinematography are beautiful. Lingering, drawn out shots, that captcha the emotions of the characters so well, that I had to watch them over and over. I Told Sunset About You has set new expectations for me.
Overall a Friends to Enemies to Friends to Lover story well executed. I can't wait for the second season !

cute little snippet
If you are a fan of any of the boys or Love Sick, this show is a very cute little show you will absolutely love.I especially love Mean in this! I loved him and Plan in Love By Chance, but I love their dynamic in this and 2Wish even more!!
It was also very nice to see Captain and White revisiting Noh and Phun, and playing them as cute and in love as I rember them from Love Sick.
Don't expect too much story wise, and simply enjoy some jealousy and angst with an happy ending :D
Also do yourself a favor and watch 2Wish, because Mean/Plan are even cuter there, and yes that is possible!!

started strong but it went downhill with determination
I only finished the show, because I was looking forward to a "3-years-later-happily-ever-after"-scene for Kao and Phu, but as the season progressed even the happy-bunny couldn't save this show...Both the main couple, as well as Kao/Phu and the doctors started out strong, but the "mysteries" surrounding Solo and Phu were - simply speaking - lacking. (I won't speak about the whole Khi(/e)m-Doctor fiasco, I refuse).
It may have been the subtitles translations, but non of the "obstacles" the couples faced seemed anything but childish exaggerations.
(Also if you wanna run away with your lover get some cash before daddies freezes your bank account. Seriously, that's running-away-101... And don't let your boyfriend make decisions (or drive a vehicle) if he hadn't had barely anything to eat for "weeks"! That's just asking for running-away-without-a-plan-destination-or-money-and-turning-around-before-you-eve-left-the-city and a fainting-behind-the-wheel-accident).
The apostrophes around weeks are there, because there is no feeling of time in the series. The plot could have developed over a couple of weeks or months. No idea.
In addition to the subpar plot the acting (except maybe Kao, Khim, Khem and sometimes Phu) is rather stiff and dull. But to be fair to the actors: it is hard to flesh out characters emotionally if the plot glosses over any scenes that could show characterization or character growth.
All in all: I have seen worse, but this show could have benefitted from something called storytelling.
Also please, for the love of everything holy, abandon the old "boys-don't-cry" and
"emotionally-distant-father-only-means-well-with-the-abuse-we-promise-he-meant-well" clichés. They are getting old.
