What they will miss at first glance is this most amazing story told by this amazing group of actors.
It is beautifully written and produced. It gives really good feelings for the heart to experience.
The story is different. It isn't the typical family drama we see. It has a unique story line to it. And from the very first episode it has you hooked, lined and your done. It's funny, it's relatable, it's super sweet and romantic (ah my heart). When I watched this I kept on thinking this is how families should be, siblings should be and relations. This drama shows how much the little things means when your with the people you love. It doesn't only resolved around the family but the people around it. We see this different age of people from the grandmom to Min Ha (high schooler) and couples, parents, siblings, in-law's with their struggles and how they over comes it. It's a story that's written for everyone to enjoy. And the ending was so beautiful!
The actors are amazing. All of them deserves a round of applause. I love them all and they did such an amazing job with their respected roles. But my special call goes to the amazing actress Lee Yoo Ri who was just damn right AWESOME. I love her! I love her! She was great. She is great. I love others too (Lee Joon - God he is so cute!) they were all awesome and to the point with their acting. I can't even think those character's being played by others.
The music is so so sweet. Love them all!
Totally going to re-watch it. More then once. I have to because I miss them already!
It's an amazing drama. Don't let the "52 episodes and family drama" stop you. Because at the end of it you will wish it had 100 or more episodes. Because at this moment I do and I know you will too.. So please give this a try!

STORY: It is not your usual drama. It has quite different elements. I loved how the relationship is developed within and outside the families. I loved how they tackled the problems. They pretty much covered all the topics. Some include parenting, bullying, marriage, societal pressure. It is a delight to watch.
ACTING: Each and every actor portrayed their respective roles very well. It definitely has a stellar cast. Lee Joon and Lee Yoo Ri deserves a special mention. They're extremely wonderful. Lee Joon is a fantabulous actor that I can guarantee.
MUSIC: The music was good.
RE-WATCH VALUE: I'm definitely going to re-watch it not only for one time but for many times.
For me this is the most beautiful drama I've ever seen.

Being a family drama, this story also centers around the love interests of the main family members, and the trials and tribulations of the extended family as well (such as the brother, sister-in-law, nephew, and mother of Na Yeong Shil). The story lines in this one definitely have twists and turns, but lack the absolutely soul crushing series of bad events that some family dramas seem to get bogged down in. All of the various romances are delightful to watch, and each episode (even ones that end in sad or suspenseful cliff-hangers) left me with warm fuzzy feelings that made me eager to go to the next episode. I highly recommend this one. And man am I in love with Lee Joon as Ahn Jung Hee in this show.

There are few shows that you start watching because of certain cast members and end up loving it so hard that you start feeling withdrawal symptoms as soon as it finishes. Father is strange was one of those dramas for me. I have always been a great fan of the writer of the show as she have written one of the best family and my all time favorite drama "Ojakgyo Brothers". I would say that Father is strange was even better and cleanly written than the Ojakgyo Brothers. The story was fast paced, characters were well developed, the romance of the central characters started a bit late but they made up with their sweet moments at the end. I loved the family bonding they had. The relationship between the parents, siblings, lovers, even the once snooty sister-in-law's character was also very well developed. I would say it is hands down one of the best written family drama if all time.
Acting/Cast:
Okay so I started this drama because of my love for Lee Joon and Jung So min and was not even slightly disappointed with their acting. Jung SO min needs to get more lead roles as she's a great actress and Lee Joon needs to get more recognition for his talents. This man is a gem tell you! The actors who played parents were just off the roof good, especially the father. His emotions were on point in every frame of the drama. Ryu Hwa Young and Min Jin Woong as the other two siblings were also really good, I am eagerly waiting for their next projects soon. But the person who really took away the cake was Lee Yoo Ri. Her portrayal as a sassy, confident, straightforward lawyer was beyond good. I have never seen any of her dramas before, but am soon going to stalk this women's drama history. Lee Yoo Ri and Lee Joon really needs to win award for this drama.
Music:
I am not to keen about the OST's of the drama unless they are very good. Father is Strange as some good melodies but not very memorable. I would still hum few while watching the drama but don't care much about them after the drama gets over.
Re-watch Value:
Definitely going to re-watch Father is Strange in few months or years. Maybe skip some parts, but definitely it is a worth a re-watch!
Overall:
Just go and enjoy this drama, Don't be scared of the 52 episode mark and try watching first 2 episodes. 2 episodes into this drama is enough to keep you hooked to your computer screens for next couple of days.

Don't afraid of number of episodes it's totally worth it!
Whoa! What a drama it was my first family drama I was hesitating before watching it becauseof the number of episodes but its totally worth the all time..I was smiling all the way it was like full package comedy, romance, melodrama. I really enjoyed it a lot I love the characterdevelopment there are none villainin this drama and even you don't like somecharacter before but eventually you will like it. It was amazing and totally worth of time. I highly recommend you this drama I'll guarantee you that there will be smile on your face after you watched it and you will be fully satisfied!!Cet avis était-il utile?
STORY: This story about the unconditional (but really unconditional!) love for our family and the bonds we create with the people we care about the most and all of the choices we make in life to stay true to our values and upbringing is told mixing the strongest emotions (love, sadness, happiness, compasion, generosity, pain) in a way you get hooked from the beginning to end enjoying every minute of the 52 episodes.
CAST: is it possible to have all the actors behave so naturally and comfortably with each other that they look like a real family? Yes, because that's what you get with this drama.
Interactions between parents/children, siblings, in-laws... all of them where relationship goals!
Prepare to laugh non-stop, cry a river, and fall in love deeply.
ACTING: if I have to praise each of the actors, I would be writing all day.
Enough to say it's a pleasure to watch every one of them. Each actor created and developed a character that'll remain in our hearts and minds forever. We all know how difficult it is to find a drama where you can like everyone (actually, it was my first time!).
Anyway, it is impossible for me not to mention the actors that, in my opinion, contributed greatly to make this story an addiction for many:
Lee Yoo Ri. No way you're gonna forget her character here... Hye Yeong ruled in every way. A real goddess.
Lee Joon and Jung So Min: They were so good! I put them together because I find a parallelism between these two actors. They are very versatile and take risks with the roles they choose (and yet... they don't always get the recongnition they deserve). In this drama they shine separately and when they interact with each other. It'll be difficult to get over them.
MUSIC: It suited the scenes so perfectly that every song became a classic and an addiction as well.
REWATCH VALUE: here I'll repeat what I put in a comment a couple of eps before the drama ended. "I can watch this drama for the rest of my life.I wouldn't mind spending ep after ep watching this family's daily mundane activities..."
So, yes. It's worth rewatching over and over.
OVERALL: the best drama I've watched and my favourite. I confidently say it's flawless. PERFECT 10.

Which takes me to the next point; applause all around, I loved the relationships between the siblings. I honestly went into this drama because I wanted to stare and Lee Joon's face, I did not expect to fall in love with everyones storylines. Literally, the first episode hooked me. I got extremely invested in everyones happiness. I always go in for the romance but srsly the family dynamic is what stuck out to me. So many little moments that just made me smile.
I very rarely rewatch dramas, but this is one of the few that I definitely will because it makes my heart happy.
INNER PEACE.

The main theme of the drama is identity theft on which the story is based. Byun/Lee family consists of four siblings and their parents. Each of them having different traits with different approach and attitude towards life makes it joyous to watch. Everyone had their share of stories to tell. The eldest son was perseverant towards achieving a secured career in the govt. department. He withstand self-inflicted mental humiliation when he saw his younger sisters are progressing faster in life whereas he being the eldest were just constantly failing. However, at the end “the slow and steady wins the race”. The eldest daughter of the family was a talented, smart, educated, elite and rebellious woman who knows how to deal with every situation in life with strong mind. She was a lawyer with strong determination to win in anything she puts are mind into. The third sister was an underdog who gradually shone with composed, patient and forgiving attitude towards life. And the youngest sister was extremely cute, witty, outspoken, boisterous, bubbly and the apple of the family’s eye. She was uncompromising when anything or anyone goes against her family. Lastly the parents what I can say about them, they sacrificed their entire life for the sake of raising their four amazing children. They have gone through a great deal of hardships but never forgot to keep their children’s need in the forefront. All these six people were tremendously affectionate towards each other.
Then comes the Na family. Na Yeong Shik was Na Yeong Shil’s younger brother. Their family comprised of four people-wife, mother, son and Mr. Na. I personally loved this family and the character Lee Bo Mi (wife). I could relate to their struggles with life in so many different levels. Their story seemed quite realistic. Hats off to the wife who was very supportive in whatever her husband did and her approach towards life was sarcastically optimistic. They were needy but never put their integrity at stake for the sake of money. Their constant fight to make their genius son’s life easy was sometimes heart wrenching.
Third comes the Cha family, the eldest daughter of Byun/Lee family married the only son of this family. I found the mother Cha’s character quite annoying. The father Cha’s character was somewhat enjoyable. He portrays the character who wants to gain deeper insight of life after retirement which was sometimes amusing to watch especially his interaction with his wife.
On the otherhand, the most interesting, most loveable and most adorable character was played by Lee Joon. He was all through eccentric, affectionate, understanding, righteous and sensitive. His portion of the story development and how his background is intertwined with the Byun/Lee family was the most interesting part of the 52 episodic journey. Lee Joon is always best in whatever role he plays. He puts his mind, body and soul into full action when it comes to acting. Very few have been seen with so much dedication and sincerity towards what they do. His stair of success will definitely keep on going sky high. He makes anyone cry or laugh easily and also make one fall in love with him so easily. He is the most formidable and versatile one among the entire ensemble of this drama. The chemistry both he and Jung So Min portrayed was utterly heart fluttering. They were my favourite couple among all the others.
Now about the overall view of the drama, I think it started off interestingly which can make an audience crave for more but as the episodes progressed, it gradually became draggy and the emotions seemed sometimes bit over the top. Without being a 52 episodic drama it can easily be a 30 episode drama which would help to keep its real essence. Nevertheless, still it is wonderful and to watch two episodes every week did not feel tiring rather after a long exhausting day, this drama always refreshed by mood. The last episode was overdramatic but still it is alright to me since it was a happy ending which can easily bring big smile in anyone’s face.
I will miss Father is Strange and all the amazing casts. It became very dearer to me which will take a while to get over with.
I know it’s hard to bear with so many episodes but if you like to see some reflection of your own family you can give it a try.

If you're looking for the perfect rom-com to binge watch and are still skeptical about if or not you should then don't think much because you've found the right one to torture yourself with because you're in for a ride on the roller coaster of emotions!!! GO WATCH IT NOW!!!
Genre : Rom-com, Family, Slice of life
Story : Giving out the start of the story, a high end ex-idol/actor (he convinces us that he is a bad emotionless actor)decides to look for his father who abandoned him. The gentle father takes him in and the family goes through a lot of ups and downs but there is a twist. The elder daughter is a bad-ass you'd love to hate. The Son is unemployed and is preparing for the civil services examinations. The second daughter is a sweet little thing. And the maknae is a feisty bad girl with a good personality. The other characters that you have to get prepared for are the pd-ex of the elder daughter (He sets really unrealistic standards of men and you'd have to be really careful trying to not fall for him) and of course the mother.
It's amazing how each character is perfectly matched and well developed and gives out an almost dreamlike yet realistic feel to it. The more you watch it, the more you realise how you're going to miss the family badly when this ends. Unnecessary hindrances and evil characters are avoided and i can't believe but at some point i actually felt attached to the tortoise....
Acting : Special mentions to Lee Yoo Ri and Ryu Soo Young for giving us unrealistic goals. The chemistry hit right on spot and you start missing them more than the Jung So Min and Lee Joon. I don't think i have to say anything about the elder actors because they prove their experience and wit all through the show. The chemistry between Lee Joon And Jung So min lacked a little (personally i would say the other couples were way too perfect) but i wouldn't judge them. Lee joon's almost point on acting impressed me completely. I guess i will be following from now on.
Will I watch it again? May be if i miss the characters but honestly it was way too long.
Will I recommend it to anyone? Yeah i do. If you still have doubts, whadahell just try the first episode.

Tbh, I never watch korean drama over than 24 or 32 episode (except c-drama), so FIS is my first drama with more episode than i usually watch.
Everything about story and character in this drama is so wonderful and interesting. But i love the most is An Jung Hee and Byeon Mi Yeong story. Their love are so sweet, make me cry and laugh at the same time. I never watched a drama which i love all of the episode, i love FIS from first episode until last episode. And i never get enough to re-watched it.
In the end, i hope you will watch it *love*
PS : Until now i can't move on from this drama TT TT

I never watch "daily" dramas, so I don't have much to compare, but this is the only (maybe best) family drama I'll ever watch... their bonds and yuri were the only reasons I watched this...it's funny that even-though I never watched this type of dramas, everything in this is a big cliche..

there's more, I mean this is a 50+ drama ;)
Mi Yeong and Joong Hee were the cheap "star crossed lovers", the "we can't even admit our feelings for blah blah reasons"... I can't believe it took them 40 eps to reveal that.. and then everyone was ok with it as if it never happened, ie a cheap move to keep them apart and cause conflict.. they were cute enough, that move was unnecessary...
my rewatch values are either a 1 or 10...
