Wow.. just wow! I really loved this drama!
I wasn't too sure about the story in the beginning, and I'll admit that throughout this drama there were moments were I thought it would go south. However, after I finished it, I realized I couldn't have been more wrong. The writers pulled off the storyline wonderfully. Even when the plot seemed a bit too complicated to execute well, the writers did a great job at it!
Now, I just want to talk a little about the acting in this drama. Honestly, this is one of the most well acted dramas I've seen so far. Park Bo Young and Jo Jung Suk have AMAZING chemistry. I would find myself playing certain scenes over and over again, just because these two are so great together! The way their relationship grows from beginning to end is so sweet. I also want to say that these two share the most real and believable kisses I've ever seen in a drama. Seriously! Whenever they were on screen, I would always look forward to how they would interact with each other. Part of that is because this drama has really down to earth acting. You can tell that all the actors have fun with their roles (especially the kitchen crew), and they bring that excitement to the screen. Not only are the interactions between Na Bong and Chef very real and believable, but the interactions between all the other characters as well. I loved watching the kitchen crew going through their day, bickering and cracking jokes at one another. Their acting was so real that I would forget what they were saying was actually scripted. It was fun watching them, especially during the moments where you could tell they were about to break out of character and burst out laughing! I especially loved Sous Chef (Kang Ki Young). Some people might find him a little annoying, but honestly he made me laugh numerous times throughout the drama!
Im Joo Hwan is also amazing in this drama. His portrayal of Officer Choi was spot on, and I was really moved by his character towards the end. The same goes for Kim Seul Gi (Soon Ae). There were times where I was a little confused and annoyed about where her character was going plot wise, but toward the end I'd come to understand and appreciate what she did for the story.
This drama does have some minor flaws, like pacing issues in the last few episodes and sort of a rushed ending. Despite all that, this drama is still a perfect 10/10 for me. I don't normally do reviews, so the fact that I came here to write this immediately after I finished it is saying something. If you're looking for a great romance/comedy/mystery drama with amazing acting and lovable characters, then give Oh My Ghost a chance!

Oh My Ghost can be a hit or miss for some! The romance is butterfly stirring, the comedy will leave you laughing out loud and the suspense will leave you shaking on the edge of your seat. This drama was pretty decent yet the story line , not so much. It's not that I had an issue with the acting nor the characters; it was just the storyline of this drama could have been done better. At times, it felt like this drama struggled to decide what kind of drama it wanted to be; a romantic comedy, a melodrama, a mystery, a thriller...it just seemed all over the place and there were many parts ( and characters) of this drama I wished the writers could have spent more time on rather than rushing the main focus of this drama on the back burner in the last 4 episodes.

The acting here was one of a kind. The actors appeared to have great chemistry and Park Bo Young delivers another great role as the shy/timid Na Bong Sung and my favorite loud/pervy Soon Ae! I found her actions to be very alike to Kim Seul Gi's (Soon Ae) acting style which was very impressive! Another great performance was of Jo Jung Suk (Chef Seon Woo) and Im Joo Hwan who plays Officer Choi!

If I were to re watch this show, I'd only spend it on the moments of romance. This drama delivers in the Romance department and also talks about a certain topic that isn't really talked about in drama land. These 16 episodes went by really quickly for me. I have to say I was really fond of episode 15, which really redeemed the entire series (in my opinion of course). Depending on whose team you're supporting, you'll find yourself wrapped into the love triangle. Overall, I give this drama an 8 based solely on the acting.

If you ever see a 10 for acting, then you know it's a must watch!

I would rate Oh My Ghost 5.5/10. The actors were fantastic in it. Park Bo Young really convinced me that Kim Seul Gi had possessed her body. She had her mannerisms down perfectly. I can see why she's the highest paid actress in cable history. Her coworkers were just as strong. I've never seen Kim Seul Gi before and she really impressed me as Shin Soon Ae. It would have been nicer to see the actresses play off each other more in the drama. Bong Sun was under possession for way too long and I think that lowered the quality of the drama. All the changes she went through were hard to understand because she was possessed the majority of the time. We didn't see these changes happen organically. It seemed like in the first half of the show that Soon Ae was the lead. We saw Chef all in love w/ Soon Ae personality. He even admitted himself that he fell for a ghost. His sudden change over to loving Bong Sun wasn't really believable. We saw that he was in love Soo Hyung for years. I don't believe he was carrying a torch for Bong Sun all those years. The romance in the drama could have been handled a lot better than it was. If you wanted to make me believe Bong Sun and Sun Woo were the story I should have seen them falling in love. I didn't. Oh My Ghost isn't a terrible show by any means. I just think it's a lazily written one.

I really had to struggle through this one.

It is not a totally bad drama and it does have a lot of romance in it.
But it is simply not my kind of drama, it just lacked an intelligent plot.

What I personally disliked:

1) The timid character of the female main role. It changes in the end, and you know it will,
but it is so cliché and expected that I just got unnerved by it.
2) The whole misunderstanding thing. I just really hate misunderstandings in plotlines, when you as a viewer/reader know more than the characters and you just watch them struggle along and just wait and wait for it to be cleared, knowing all the way that it will happen.
3) Thus the whole plot was totally predictable. Even the side-plot with the sister was after introduction nothing new. The was a big, huge hole when it comes to suspense or thrilling aspects. It was rather boring.

Where to begin with this mess of a drama? It wasn't good. And that's putting it mildly. Oh My Ghostess' biggest pitfall is in its plot. At first the plot seems rather straightforward; a shy girl gets possessed by an outgoing virgin ghost who is trying to get laid. Easy, simple, straightforward. So where did it go wrong?

By making the ghost, Shin Sun Ae, the second female lead instead of the female lead the show immediately opened itself up to a storm of problems. Our main male lead, Kang Seon Woo, falls in love with the ghost-possessed version of the female lead first and because of that fact the viewer is left wondering throughout every subsequent interaction between the two leads whether he actually loves Na Bong Sun for her own qualities or loves the version of her that is actually Sun Ae. This confusion both on the part of Seon Woo and the audience completely destroys the validity of the romance between the two leads. What's more the writer did little to engender Bong Sun to either Seon Woo or the audience based on her own merits. Sun Ae is clearly the more fun, kind, and lively of the two women and Bong Sun is so painfully shy for the first half of the show that she is almost entirely devoid of personality. The show's choice to stop clearly showing the audience when Bong Sun is being possessed versus when she isn't was also executed poorly. Bong Sun's personality, as she becomes less shy, starts to resemble Sun Ae's too much. There were times when I could not tell which version of Bong Sun I was watching in a scene. Was she possessed? Not possessed? Is Seon Woo in love with Bong Sun? With Sun Ae? I certainly didn't know and still don't.

Another issue was with the virgin ghost character in general. Shin Sun Ae's motivations at the beginning of the show boil down to just one thing: sleep with someone. When she attempts to seduce Seon Woo he rejects her advances and yet she just keeps going. It made me so uncomfortable to watch as she pretty much sexually harassed him after he very clearly told her no. It was creepy and should not have been included in the drama. If the tables were turned and he was harassing her no one would have found this plot point funny. It would have been seen as downright villainous.

The acting wasn't terrible but it also wasn't Park Bo Young or Jo Jong Suk's best work. Overall this drama was a failure. It made me uncomfortable and I regret watching it.

TOTALLY LOVE IT!
I love all about this drama! The casts, story, music, their acting, all of it! And I really enjoyed watched every episode
And I don't know that Jo Jung Suk-Park Bo Young pairing will be such a cute couple like this! They really have a good chemistry. I hope they will play in same drama/film in the future.

Because I really love every inch of this drama, I'll give it 10! I never give 10 score for any drama before, but this is really enjoyable and cute!

And my tears of joy can't stop poured because of last episode!

This was the first show I truly enjoyed while it was airing -- so much so that I wrote a "currently watching" article.

Now, with a little distance, I see the flaws in it. This is a drama where the character development was rich and quick, but the plot dragged on too much. That's why I rated the story 7.5, because while the central questions were very intriguing, notably the cause of Soon Ae's death, they were only really addressed in the last episodes of the drama. But still, while I felt that on the whole this drama's themes weren't well balanced, the quality was pretty consistent from start to end.

I think this has to do with what really stood out in this drama, which were the characters. Chef Sun Woo, shy Bong Sun, brash Soon Ae, the policeman Sung Jae, Sun Woo's sweet sister Eun Hee, the cool and likeable second female lead Lee So Hyeong, Sun Woo's meddlesome but endearing mother, the reluctantly friendly shaman, Soon Ae's brother and father, and of course the hilarious crew at the restaurant: all these 14 characters were perfectly cast, and it really felt like the director managed to bring out what was special about each one of those actors, down to the more minor roles. Somehow Oh My Ghostess managed create a world of characters that felt very alive, all while keeping a strong focus on the romance between the leads.

The background music blended well with the story, only what was truly nice were the songs sung by the two actors. Park Bo Young's song was especially pretty, and I felt the sweet, slightly melancholic mood of that song matched the drama perfectly: Oh My Ghostess is truly a gentle drama, where one can wholly empathise with the characters because of some hidden flaw, weakness or insecurity -- and this goes from the leads to the villain. Something that touched me was the way this drama sometimes showed the gap there can be between a person's inner life, and the image that person projects exteriorly to other people. Bong Sun was a person with passion that came across as dull, Sun Woo was someone very unsure about himself, but who learned how to appear confident, Soon Ae was a very sensitive and caring person behind her loud antics, Sung Jae was someone deeply troubled with a happy mask, and the list goes on with Joon, the mother, the shaman, Eun Hee...

Despite the blurry romance line for a couple episodes (was it Soon Ae or Bong Sun the chef loved?), it was very touching from the three points of view. It was nice that all characters involved were ultimately respectful of one another other, and never turned petty or jealous. I loved how Sun Woo was so open about his love, not only was it written allover his face but he also expressed it a lot through words, and in the way he touched her so affectionately. Those are definitely scenes I could rewatch over and over. It was also very agreeable to see a drama where the role seemed tailor made for an actor, since there were many references to Park Bo Young's size and many things very specific about her (often in dramas characters just fall in love, but neither one ever talks about specific things about the other person, so to me their love doesn't feel real, but rather like a script with interchangeable actors). The fact that Park Bo Young and Kim Seul Gi were both as short one as the other was also a nice touch, and it made seeing them together quite funny and endearing.

So overall, that the mystery plot could have been more evenly distributed along the show doesn't bother me too much, because I'm much more into character development -- and there sure was a nice collection of very unique characters, as well as a romance that felt like the actors were in love for real. Park Bo Young was of course amazing, as everybody says, Jo Jung Suk was completely charming, and Kim Seul Gi managed to be both comedic and deep.

I definitely think this drama is worth a try, but stay away from it if it's a fast-moving mystery plot you're looking for! In terms of events, this drama is sloooooow (though I do like that)...

I am not sure if it is good drama for everyone it's a little bit confusing.
The only thing that I am sure about that it is really extremely overrated.

PROS:
1-Some parts of the story are unique.
2-There's good thrilling parts in this drama which are the only things made me go on to the end of this drama

CONS:
1-Silly romance relation
2-Over fantasy comparing to known dramas like (The Master's Sun) it tends to be not convincing.
3-A little bit annoying to see many unimportant scenes
4-I see that this drama could be better if focused on fewer elements they tried to show some pro cooking scenes but they neglected the romance the only good thing I see is the thrilling part.

At last It's really annoying to see so many WOW dramas getting low rating and some other getting high like this one higher than "Autumn's Concerto" and equal to "Pinocchio"..really can't believe

Anyway, this doesn't tell that it is a bad drama it good but not as 8.8 rating.
Enjoy!

This is a very strange rom com, but in a good way. In many ways it's a love triangle between a shy doormat, a rebellious man-crazy ghost, and a very vain chef. It's also a comedy about a team of chefs in a restaurant (Think "Pasta"). It's also a mystery thriller, which keeps it engaging when the love story starts to follow too closely to the K Drama standard plot. The plot may be a little hard to follow in the beginning, since there are so many characters, but it eventually all comes together. The story also switches from comedy, to romance, to thriller, refusing to stick to one style completely. It's definitely an ambitious plot, but I think Oh My Ghostess succeeds.

The cast is outstanding, and the reason why the complicated story works so well. Park Bo Young is the most impressive in a lot of ways. She switches from timid to bold believably, which is what makes the love triangle work. She has great chemistry with Jo Jung Suk, which is a huge plus, although I was often annoyed by Seon Woo. The scenes when she aggressively propositions him are hilarious, and a nice change from how these romances usually develop. Those scenes are what convinced me to keep watching.

Many of the supporting cast members are as engaging as the main characters. The bromantical team of Chefs, Bing Go the ghost hunter, Sun Ae's father, Seon Woo's mom, Im Joo Hwan's smile... Still, Kim Seul Gi is my favorite of the main cast. I was rooting for her from the beginning, and she is the show's star in my opinion. She made me laugh out loud, and cry buckets, and I looked forward to her scenes the most.

I had to give this show a high rewatch score, because I am already watching it again. Since I know the story now, there are moments in the beginning that I see differently, and it's making me like the drama even more (Especially the first episode). I became so invested in the characters that I enjoy watching the story again from that perspective.

Overall this drama was a happy surprise. It had elements of two dramas I love ("Pasta" and "Master's Sun") while still being original enough to stand on it's own. There are definitely predictable moments, and filler comedy moments, lots of coincidences, and some over used K Drama standards towards the end, but I was still never bored. The thriller element wasn't the strongest storyline, but it was still good, and certainly entertaining. I was happy with how it all ended too, which is important when you have so many characters that you suddenly care about. I definitely recommend watching this one with an open mind. You may not be into it in the beginning, but if you're like me, you soon won't be able to stop watching it, as if you're... wait for it... possessed.

Oh My Ghost(ess) was the perfect summer drama, with sweet romance, an intriguing story-line and an amazing cast.

The story-line was masterfully written- comedy, mystery, and extremely cute romance. Oh My Ghost was one of those dramas that could near-flawlessly tie all those things together. I loved the characters, how they interacted and how smoothly the story developed throughout the 16 episodes. I especially loved the growing relationship between Na Bong Sun and Shin Soon Ae.

The cast was perfect. Park Bo Young was amazing at playing the two characters. She was adorable and very convincing at both! Jo Jung Suk was fantastic as the arrogant Kang Sun Woo, and I found him growing on me by each episode. And of course, the chemistry between Park Bo Young and Jo Jung Suk was seriously unreal. :') Kim Seul-Gi really shone in this drama as well, and she did a great job as Shin Soon Ae. I loved her character! Im Ju Hwan was fantastic as the villain in this drama. His acting was extremely convincing and his character was really easy to hate. Last but not least, I really adored quite a few of the supporting characters like Cordon (he was so cute), the rest of the chefs at Sun Restaurant and Soon Ae's dad and Brother.

Overall, Oh My Ghost was absolutely fantastic and I really loved it. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes FOOD, suspense/mystery, and really cute romance.

I just finished watching this and i must say that it did not disappoint me! ´Oh My Ghost´ is one of the best dramas i´ve watched so far! It´s one of those that reminds you to live your life to the fullest and cherish every single day as well as the people you care about the most...a life with no regrets.
I really enjoyed the storyline and the acting was surely great, the whole cast was very good, especially Park Bo Young, she did an awesome job portraying both characters perfectly.
For those interested in watching this, i can assure you that this drama isn´t a waste of time, if you enjoy a fairly good romantic comedy ( by the way, i really liked Jo Jung Suk character despite trying to look stern and being cocky, his hilarious jealousy moments and cuteness overload will make your heart melt) mixed with paranormal/ghostly stuff (not scary at all, really) this is a MUST. Also, one of the highlights of the show is it´s unexpected twists and the bitter sweet ending will make you feel all the feels!
God, i miss it already xD Enjoy fellas!
