Thinking back, there was absolutely nothing in this drama. A bunch of useless plot twists and pointless obstacles didn't do it for me. The age difference wasn't a factor for me disliking this drama at all. On the contrary, it made the drama unique. The second-lead syndrome just got on my nerves and the misunderstandings were annoying. Unusually, screen-time was given to sub-plots I didn't enjoy at all. The drama was a whole load of nothingness and was pretty much an empty hole. The meeting of the leads was coincidence after coincidence which wasn't realistic at all causing me to dislike this drama even more. The way the female lead struggled to choose between the men was annoying, overdramatic and unnecessary. The leads had significantly similar interests. Considering that the female lead was older, I expected her to be more mature. But the 25 year old main lead was the calm and collected one while the older female lead behaved like an immature five year old child. The female lead was first portrayed to be a strong independent reporter. But she became a voiceless, immature, whiny character that revolved around the male lead and depended on him for everything.

It's just my opinion, but I think this drama is highly overrated. The story has a very simple plot which is not unusual in k dramas. However, the characters were one dimensional and way too cliche for me. Lee young Joon was a character with good potential in my opinion. I had hoped he would mend his ways and become less narcissistic after he got into a relationship with Kim Mi So. However, his character doesn't seem to have developed at all even at the end. The way he fell in love with her was also forced in my opinion as he first only had a an obsession with her and didn't want to leave that childhood friend of his and it's not clear how this obsession turned into love. I also felt that the couple never really faced challenges, fought or had any sort of disagreement. I also found it ridiculous that they married each other without even 1 disagreement. He also put her to hard work for nine years and developed feelings for her suddenly. The positives in the story were the humor and side character development. The backstory was honestly ok in my opinion. It had its effects in the future and was hence essential and unavoidable. Mi So's character was what I disliked the most. Even after she got into a relationship with Young Joon, there didn't seem to be much of a change in the boss-secretary behavior as Mi So still acknowledged every ridiculous thing that Young Joon said and carried it out as a secretary more than a girlfriend. Also, I didn't like the fact that in the end Mi So decided not to quit her job as secretary. The reason she wanted to leave was to follow her dreams and I believe she should have given more priority to her own dreams and left to fulfill them. That's pretty much why I didn't like this series too much.

Only for anyone who likes cheese and fluff

She Was Pretty was a disappointment to me. IMO there simply wasn't enough of a story to push this for 16 episodes. The subplots were weird, rushed and made absolutely no impact to the main story. The main story itself was annoying because Ji Sung Joon treated Hye Jin like trash. It just goes to show that he respects people only if they've done anything for him. He liked her only because of what she had done for him and not because of the person she had become. It is understandable that he got frustrated with her because she resembled a childhood friend he absolutely adored and was mean to her because he thought that they couldn't possibly be the same person. It was a coping mechanism and was acceptable enough. But he never apologized. And Hye Jin seemed to forgive him way too easily. I disliked this series mostly because of the random subplot and slow pace of the story with Ji Sung Joon's unapologetic character.

The start was very promising and each episode ended with a nice cliffhanger that encouraged me to watch the following episode. However the mystery was quickly revealed without much development and replaced with another mystery in every episode. I hoped it would all come together in the end but my expectations were met with disappointment. I detested Shin Se Kyoung's acting as it didn't bring out much of Yoon So Ah's supposed strong personality. She was supposed to be rational, strong and open-minded psychiatrist but turned out more like a whiny kindergartener. I understand her attitude to the kids her dad brought home when she was small, but she was very mean to her junior at work until the very end. I didn't like Yoon So Ah's character either. Ha Baek was much better in my opinion but still not all that likeable. I liked how in the end it turned out that So Ah's dad was the one who saved her. It was a huge surprise to me as I had crossed my fingers totally expecting So Ah to have been saved by Ha Baek in the typical k drama fashion of lovers meeting or saving each other in the past. Since I hate less than perfect endings, I was disappointed with Ha Baek staying with So ah only until her death. I felt that this is not all that better than Nak Bin. Ha Baek would watch So Ah grow old and die only to be devastated. I felt that since So Ah was able to make a wish, if she was smart, she could have said that she wanted to be with him forever and they would have had to go to the world of the Gods together and since they wished to be together, Ha Baek couldn't die even if he never went back. I hate it when there is a bittersweet ending when they could have clearly easily had a much better ending. This bittersweet ending was clearly not the only choice they had. I liked the OSTs and visuals of this k drama. i think some people who like sad, sentimental and emotional dramas will like this.

Anyone who enjoys slice of life dramas will probably like this drama. It is full of humour and is a story about underdogs and their rise to fame. I personally detested the second lead couple. Their story felt too cliche to me and neither Seol- hee nor Joo Man seemed to have a distinct character or dreams. Their scenes were the most putting off to me as I wasn't invested in their struggles. Even the main couple seemed a little childish to me. But it was more bearable than the second couple. Dong Man's jealousy was also a little annoying to me after a point. I adored Choi Ae Ra's character. she and Dong Man were very ambitious and strong characters. That's all there was in this show to me.

This was honestly one of my favorite dramas ever. I loved the various cases Jung Jae Chan had to deal with during his time as a prosecutor. I loved the positive relationships between the characters of this story. The villain was very fascinating and appealing. The writing was amazing except for a couple of loop holes which didn't affect the story much. The characters were very realistic and rational unlike many other k dramas and this was an overall win for me. Lee Jong Suk's and Bae Suzy's acting seemed very genuine. Their emotions were like that of an average human being without over dramatic excessively emotional scenes unless the situation demanded so. I would definitely recommend this to everyone since both the male and female leads have strong characters and support each other wonderfully through their struggles.

Just another fluffy rom-com though the beginning was strong

Her Private Life seemed unique in the beginning. The pros of this drama would be that the leads were mature and had great communication. They didn't fight for petty reasons and always cleared up misunderstandings. They were calm and collected and always apologized if at fault and never repeated the mistake. Fangirling was normalized even for older women which removed stigma around it. I would have liked it better if they address the issue of sasaengs or obsessive stalker fans. The ending ruined it for me. The childhood connection trope is the most overused thing in kdramas and I hate it unless it's done in a convincing way. The last couple of episodes are a total waste in my opinion. There isn't any real conflict in the story. I liked the side characters and their stories. In short, Her Private Life starts of on a fresh note. It seems as if the storyline is unique and has some nice features. But soon its mask comes off and it's just the ordinary rom-com.

2 Words - Wasted Potential.

The concepts in this drama were beautiful and unique and distinct. Eun Dan oh's character was straightforward, clever and amusing. I was overjoyed and jumped headfirst into this drama in the beginning. The overused loss of memory trope and repetitive scenes ruined this drama for me. The way Eun Dan Oh began to fall for Haru was also not likeable. It was not due to his personality as he hardly had any character development. It was more cliche like fate because he happened to make her heart beat fast a couple times. The ending was the worst as it broke all the basic logic and rules the comic world had introduced in the beginning. Haru's character could have done with so much more development. He seemed to pop up out of nowhere for no reason. This drama was a wasted potential. A lot more could have been made out of it. Eun Dan Oh's and Haru's chemistry was non-existent in my opinion and their romance screamed "forbidden love" in my face all the time. It was like they picked the 2 characters who would find it hardest to love each other and pushed them down a roller-coaster together. The unique plot made watching it worth it for me though.

LOTBS was pretty entertaining and funny. It had its cliche moments and the plot was pretty mediocre. However, it was worth watching as it gave the audience empathy for a couple of complex characters. I personally liked the character development. But I felt that the villains were defeated way too easily in some places. The chemistry between the main leads was mediocre in my opinion and the entire drama is okay to say the least. I would recommend it for casual watching without great expectations for a complicated and thrilling plot. This will also be super entertaining for people easily moved by emotion.

I liked DOTS overall is it brought together military and medicine which are typically seen as polar opposites at the surface while in reality they share similar core values that save the common people. I felt that the main leads had a good connection in the beginning. They liked each other's personalities and went on a date without hesitating too much. The absence of the second main lead syndrome brought me huge relief. There were several inaccuracies and overdramatic scenes though. When Kang Mo Yeon and Yoo Si Jin fall from the cliff into the water, judging by the height of the fall, they couldn't have survived even if they fell into the water in a car with airbags. Also I wished that they showed the way Yoo Si Jin escaped from being locked up and returned to meet Kang Mo Yeon. It would have been much more interesting if they dedicated an episode to Seo Dae Young's and Yoo Si Jin's escape struggles. It felt like an originally intended sad ending was made happy to prevent backlash by fans. I believe that the end should have been better constructed to avoid this. I loved the way the earthquake brought together the military and doctors.

Way Too Underrated Honestly LOL

I really can't think of flaws in this drama. It was absolutely beautiful. The plot was unique and focused on an issue no k drama had ever address before. It was fresh, had multi layered characters with various opinions, moral values and motivations. Every character had good contributions to the story and learnt from their experiences. The visuals were aesthetically pleasing and portrayed Guseonwon and Muji extraordinary well. The vibe of the countryside was realistic and grest. The dark and muted colour scheme and minimal background music truly pushed boundaries and made this drama realistic and unbetable in thsi genre. I could go on praising every small detail in this drama but I absolutely recommend it. The drama tackles societal evils and has a good pace and execution. It was based on a webtoon called "Out of The World" which also I would recommend to those who enjoy webtoons. I couldn't believe how underrated this was after I watched it and checked the recognition it got. Seo Yae Ji, Ok Taecyon and Woo Do Hwan absolutely made me obsessed with this drama with their out of the world acting. THis was my first Seo Yae Ji drama and I couldn't be more impressed. I'm looking forward to watching It's okay to not be okay.

I loved the entire show. Son ye Jin's acting was a huge hit for me though I didn't like Hyun Bin's that much(probably cuz the character itself was not very expressive). The accuracy of portrayal of life in north Korea seemed unrealistic in a few places based on the information I had gathered from interviews of various NK defectors. The characters seemed to get around and out of NK way too easily and dress code in NK was not seen as being followed as strictly as people are actually forced to follow. However, the other traditions, lifestyle and daily routine of north Koreans like their fixed hairstyles, food etc. were very accurately shown leading to this drama becoming a very liked one among South Koreans, defectors and international viewers. A very different thing about this drama is how it portrayed the positives and negatives of ordinary life in NK super realistically. (If you want to know if CLOY has a sad, happy or bittersweet ending, read the first line of the next paragraph.

******* SPOILERS FROM HERE ON**********

P.S. This drama has a bittersweet ending. If like me, you regret watching dramas that don't end perfectly with everyone being happy, then this is not for you. However, I felt that I learnt a lot of things from this drama and don't regret watching it.

Every time Ri Jeong Hyeok and Yoon Se Ri reunited, Se Ri would burst into tears and her face mostly looked sad. I really wanted this drama to be a little more happy atleast with the smaller details. However, the whole thing has tragic events that keep following each other after Se Ri first leaves NK. Till then, I felt that it balanced light hearted humor and serious scenes very well. However, later things just became gloomier and gloomier and like the cliche romance between lovers from 2 different worlds they were unable to have a beautiful and happy life together permanently even at the end. The end was bittersweet. They manage to meet in Switzerland but it was only for 2 weeks in a year. And realistically, I don't think that will give them a healthy relationship. If Seri would wait for those 2 weeks every year, she would have to love him that much and I think the few months they spent together isn't enough to foster that kind of serious romance. However, I would definitely recommend this drama as it should fit most people's tastes other than mine.

Re-watch value: I don't particularly enjoy tragic k dramas, so this one is not for me. I have only managed to watch very funny k dramas for the second time. But after I know the plot twists and ending of the more serious kind of k dramas, I don't particularly enjoy re-watching them.

The story started strong. The pace fell in the middle episodes and picked up too fast in the final episodes. Some loopholes were not addressed. The female lead was too harsh on the male lead and continuously made weird excuses to break up with him. She played hard to get and it was too messy. In my opinion, the male lead was too good for her. The villain was beautifully written and Dong Ha's acting was excellent. The last court case was iconic and really well executed. The build-up was good until the middle. It became too slow there and felt too dragged out. The story seemed to conclude too fast and some issues remained unsolved and some involved in the crimes didn't have their motivations revealed.

Please have a huge pack of tissues and possibly a shoulder to cry on

This drama is beautiful. Historically very accurate. Portrays the 1900s aesthetic very well. Good chemistry and excellent acting. I can't really say much because this drama was that perfect. It was surprisingly fast paced but in a good way. Sentimental scenes weren't dragged out unnecessarily. It was 3 hours of pure bliss. An excellent portrayal. Absolutely gives justice to Yun Sim deok and Kim U Jin. Since it's based on a real story I can't say much. The OSTs are excellent. After watching the drama, please check out the original Death Song by Yun Sim Deok. It's beautiful. You can practically hear the sadness in her voice. It will soon become a century old. It's beauty has been preserved through the times. The version of the Hymn of Death by Min Woohuk is also a must-watch. All the respective links are below.

Absolutely Worth A Watch

Dr. Romantic is a beautifully written drama. It has good pace and pulls viewers in. Kim Sa Bu is a beautifully written, complex character with a unique thought process and personality. He was an excellent mentor. We saw him change from a critic to ardent supporter of the doctors he mentored. Both Kang Dong Joo and Yoon Seo Jung were unique in terms of capabilities and character. They brought fresh perspective to the story and we saw how they grew as people through the story. It is medically accurate and absolutely worth a watch. The characters faced moral dilemmas and many challenges as they went through many learning experiences that shaped them as people. The staff of the hospital were also learnt and experienced many things during their time in the story.
