“I really want to die first," said a girl. Her teacher reacted by hitting her head.

The story is about how people react after a girl died by suicide and her friend is suspected as the ‘culprit’. The plot focuses on this friend and how she copes all those blames plus there's the mother of the girl who died who feels so guilty and miserable.
Special props to Jeon Yeo-bin (as Young-hee) and Seo Young-hwa (as the mother) for amazing performances. Jeon Yeo-bin didn't exaggerate the emotion and frustration yet these two actresses perfectly display all the hurts just through their expression, to the point it made me speechless.

This is the movie I've been looking for: bitter and realistic. After My Death addreses multiple social issues around us like, how adults tend to underestimate suicidal teenagers, school bullying, and so on. It feels raw and relatable and I felt a strange feeling after watching this.
What I like more is the movie doesn't try to explain why the characters are suicidal. Everyone has complicated problems and accumulated stress that we will never fully understand. There's no a single, all-in-one, conclusive reason behind it that people like to guess.
After My Death has broadened my perspective and I’m grateful I watched this gem.

A healing, soothing, and relaxing movie. This doesn't really have any conflict but I didn't get bored at all. The movie tells struggle in the city, relationship between mother and between friends, also a hint of love story that I believe we all have experienced.
Little Forest shows daily life in countryside, what to eat daily, and how everything is made from scratch. A getaway from our city's daily life.
That's the concept so don't expect any dramatic conflict, okay?
I really enjoyed this and felt so peaceful afterwards, even I couldn't stop smiling because the main character looks so happy she's back home, back to the nature. A movie I'd recommend to relieve stress. Will I rewatch this? Totally yes.

If you've been watching Korean movies and dramas long enough, you must be familiar with Park Sung-woong, as he is usually cast as villain, gangster (just look at 'New World'), or as a common ahjussi.
I never expected it would be this fascinating to see Park Sung-woong's fresh character. Seriously though, Park Sung-woong in this movie is so precious, maybe we won't be able to see it again in the future.
Alongside Park Sung-woong, there are Jinyoung and Ra Mi-ran.

The Dude in Me has some absurd scene due to being comedy genre and there are too some "dear viewers, please cry!" moments but it doesn't really succeed as I'm not symphatized enough. The emotions feel kind of shallow and the chemistry between the characters seems off (Jinyoung proved me he's a decent actor though but the chemistry is just...). However it's still bearable and I'm here for the comedy anyway so it's forgiven.

In conclusion, The Dude in Me is a good comedy movie, it accomplished its purpose of entertaining the viewers. Maybe you too should give it a try?

Guess this is an underrated movie since there are not much exposure despites starred by Lee Jung-jae. But I’m so glad I decided to give this movie a go and I’ve rewatched it three times.
This movie is a blend of mystery-thriller-horror and it’s totally my cup of tea.
The clues are given one by one and my brain didn’t have to work so hard collecting the pieces of puzzle. I could comprehend it since the first watch. As a comparison, I watched The Wailing and missed many clues that I had to google for explanation :).
The plot is neat and well-written. From the beginning towards the ending, it keeps the same pace. Not even a single scene is filler, zero scenes wasted.
Moving on to the casts, we have the experienced Lee Jung-jae, cutie-pie Lee David, and Park Jung-min. My first time watching Park Jung-min and I’m awestruck. He’s really a great actor! I’m a fan now.
Svaha has become one of my favorite movies.
Solid plot and solid casts = almost perfect.

I remember googled "best Korean movies" and this movie is always on every list. That convinced me there must be something since people raved it as "perfect movie". Turns out those people aren't wrong, this is indeed a perfect movie.

The Handmaiden is divided into three parts and we will get different impressions for each part. We don't know where the story is going and the plot itself is already perfect and satisfying. The atmosphere in this movie is really unique, sometimes it feels lunatic then shifts to thrilling then digusting. It's psychologically intriguing.

As for the casts, everyone performed greatly. I have to mention Kim Min-hee stands out the most, she showcased her acting skills here. Remember I told you there are three parts with different impressions? Kim Min-hee is able to give off various vibes throughout the movie. I'm a fan.

Seriously folks, perfect plotting adds to flawless acting performance equals to a perfect movie. I'm grateful they made The Handmaiden.

Recommended to watch when you need a ~healing~ movie (*cough* like I do) or simply you just want to cry.
A movie about a man and a spirit of woman, there must be some sparks of love, right? Thankfully nah.
The plot is rather a slow-paced one. It’s okay for me personally as we get to see these two deeply wounded characters finally are able to let go of their past which allows their wounds to start healing. The story builds up from light emotion to heavy as their past starts to unravel. Then we will hit emotional climax accompanied by dramatic music which made me just cry together, like, ugly-cry…
We can never doubt Kim Nam-gil and Chun Woo-hee’ acting skills. Kim Nam-gil perfectly portrayed the loss of his wife even only through his eyes and here Chun Woo-hee’s bright and lovely character compared to her previous works which we rarely get to see.
Overall, this is a movie that feels so heart-felt. It’s personally healing for me and I will for sure rewatch this whenever I need some ~healing material~.
