HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

This was an epic story that truly exceed my expectations.

Albeit some of it's shortcomings (a.k.a) this one scene i found quite predictable the rest of the story made up for it.

I did not expect much from Dilraba cause i've only seen her do romantic tv shows but oh my goodness her performance here was epic. I felt for her, cried with her was in pain with her, happy with her.... You get the point. I felt every damn emotion that she was trying to portray and to me that is something.

It's a pity that there is not one decent kissing scene from her and the main ML (i was looking forward to that or atleast some kind of skinship that will make me feel like they are desperate for each other) but there wasn't i guess that's the tiny bit of flaw that this series had. I wanted to feel the love between the FL and ML, but that fell short for me. I felt the longing when they were apart and there was always tension when they didn't know any better but when all was out in the open and they were constantly together, it went mehhhh. I guess i was expecting more.

But the rest was splendid! As usual, Rosy Zhao did amazing!! (Honestly did not expect any less from her), and to all the supporting cast. There was not a moment that i wanted to skip. I loved this and will definitely watch it again. Would've been a perfect 10 if the romance bit wasn't lacking but everything else...... SO GOOD. You wouldn't wanna miss it!!!

HAN SO HEE THE NEW SUPREME

I have organized my thoughts into pros and cons and i hope this helps if you are thinking about watching this.

Pros
- The cast is the strongest point of 'My Name' not just because most of them are already well seasoned but every single one of them made the experience much more solid. First of all, Han So Hee suprised the heck out of me. Her character was something that i did not expect that she would be able to put off but she hella did. She was PERFECT for this. Every emotion that she tried to show i felt (not just her strong side but her vulnerability and rawness). Ofcourse the rest of the cast did amaziiiiing too!! Would like to give a shoutout to our Park Hee Soon (Choi Moojin) my emotions went back and forth w/ his character i didn't know who to believe... And our crazy druggie Jang Yool (Do Gang Jae) his character portrayal ticked the hell out of me that's why i loved it. He did really amazing.

- The fighting scenes. The choreography especially in the beginning when Han So Hee's character was still learning is what i truly enjoyed. She was really really good and it felt like she didn't hold back in every punch!

Cons
- Story was predictable (except the last thing that happened before the "end") Which was unecessary i truly wish it didn't happen. I was soooo maddddd ?

All in all i enjoyed this! What motivated me to write this though was that scene before the ending. OKKK IM STILL NOT OVER IT. IM STILL MAD THEY DID THAT. But at the same time, i'm glad it's all over. I just wish she'd be able to redeem herself after everything that happened.

Tear jerker

What can i say? I enjoyed this watch so much.
It's the type of tv show that touches your heart.
There wasn't an episode that i didn't feel for the deceased, man. I cried a ton because albeit the lack of display of emotions from Geu Ru, his honesty and the his goal to give that yellow box to the family/lover of the deceased got to me. He really didn't stop at anything. He wanted to make sure that he delivers tje message of the deceased to the person that needs to hear it.

I don't really know anything about asperger's so i wouldn't know if he did good in portraying that but on it's own Jun Sang really did an amazing job. His actions (mainly the way that he moved about and his eye contact) the way that he delivered his lines didn't seem awkward at all to the point that i felt for the character each time.

I'm so happy they tailored a character that would fully understand Geu Ru (no judgement and all). Can i just say that I loved Na Mu's character? She understood Geu Ru w/o him having the need to explain anything and to me that is something so beautiful.

As always, an amazing job from both Ji Jin Hee and Lee Je Hoon. These two are always so good and authentic w/ whatever role they portray. The twist to me was something that i did not expect!!!!! I just wish they didn't wait till the last two episodes to reveal that but anyway, they still did a beautiful job w/ it.

Left w/ a broken heart

What an experience.
Okay forgive me as i don't really know how to properly sort out my thoughts given that things ended the way that it did but i'm going to try.

The beginning was VERY confusing for me. There were times when i was constantly questioning if i should still stick around and watch what happens next.
Moo Young was a character that was hard to understand. His decisions were mostly random, and i didn't understand majority of the decisions he made before Jin Kang.

Jin Kang on the other hand was close to normal albeit too damn nice to people.

What i loved about their relationship is that it didn't happen fast. It took time for them to realize how they felt and i appreciate that while their love blossomed, their characters developed too.

I would also like to mention Jin Gook because yes he is a very devoted brother but i could not understand his hostility towards Moo Young (things got better towards the end, but they shouldn't have made him look crazy in the middle. There was even one point where i was almost creeped out by his actions)

All in all the characters were amazing.
They were a bit hard to understand at first, but i was able to understand them as i got to know the story behind their pain and their questionable actions.

This was a good watch, albeit the tragic ending.
I kept on questioning why they had to end it they way that they did, but i don't think it could've ended any other way after everything that happened.

WHAT A FUN RIDE!!!!!

Can i just say that compared to all the e-games drama that i've watched that this one really digged deep?
The character development was really something that i did not expect. That goes for everyone, including the supporting roles in this amazing drama.

First of all, as a gamer i was so amazed on how the action scenes within the game are something that i would actually see (most of it, atleast) inside the game. They stayed true to that and i can see that they really payed attention to each and every detail. I loooooved loved loved that factor.

Second, almost all the characters were flawed w/ means they were very easy to relate to. I can especially relate to what Su Jia Yi's line on their last game where she knows she has to put more effort given that she is a woman and we all know there is a prejudice towards women in gaming up to this date. She was really likeable. I loved her.

Lastly, This is longer and deeper in storyline compared to other egames genre but to those who are wondering if they should watch it. You should!! It's soooooo damn goooood ??

Over protective and handsome father and brothers, check! Handsome boyfriend another check!

This was a very fun watch!!! Something that i would not hesitate to re-watch again.

Can i just say that despite the age gap of 11 years, in real life i did not see the gap at all the entire series??

Props to Wen Xin (Li Qian) and Xiao Bing (Cheng Ming) for embodying their characters in a very natural way.
The chemistry that they had made this so enjoyable to watch.

Apart from the romance aspect of this, i also loved the friendships and the family part here!!! The dad and her two brothers were too damn cute, i just can't with them. Makes me want to have a brother for real.

Enjoyable but........

Coming into this, i already knew what to expect.
I remember watching this wayyy back, stopped at ep 2 and didn't pick it up again till last Friday. .

All and all it was fun to watch but there were characters that were written in such a mehh way that i had a trouble accepting them even towards the end.
One that really annoyed me to the core was her sister.
Her sister being aggressive towards her and treating her like shit through majority the drama. Boi i was pissed. Her jealousy was way beyond how it should be???? Why was her character written so badly?? Though there were redeeming points towards the end, i still didn't like her. Meh.

All in all the sweet moments of the FL and ML were cute and that's the only thing that made it fun for me. I loved that the ML was not the usual type who gets triggered w/o knowing the whole story. He understood where she was coming from and that's all that matters to me.

What i hated was the "let me treat you badly, let's break up for the better" thing. I really really am not a fan of that. Like hunny, when will these writers realize that it doesn't make the story better. I would personally appreciate a story where the FL and ML will be willing to work it out TOGETHER. Not apart. I mean let's all be mature here.

Aaaaaanyway, that's it for me. It was a fun ride. Just not something that i would pick up to watch all over again.

You have no choice but to invest your feelings!!!!

What. A. Rollercoaster. Ride!!!!

That was amazing.
First of all, i was randomly browsing through my VIU options when i came across this. Ofcourse, i checked the reviews and the plot first (as i always do) before i dived into it. And oh boy i am so glad i did.

I felt all sorts of emotions watching this show...
Anger, Pity, Love, Concern, Hurt, Depressed, Happy, Excited, Giddy, Nervous.... I was constantly holding on for dear life every episode because the villain in this series is crazy. I hated her guts and couldn't for the life of me understand her reason to the point where i hated her up until the series ended. I wanted her killed off but i guess the writer was thinking differently. There wasn't any reedeeming points about her character as a villain guys so don't expect any.

I loved the "family" factor in this. Yes, there was a bit of romance but her love for her daughter is what made me stick around. I am also in awe of the adoptive father here cause he was a damn good man.

All i can say is that, if you want something that will make you feel all sorts of emotion and don't mind a villain that you will truly hate, go ahead and give this a try!!!! So soooo goood!!!

MAKES MY HEART FEEL WARM ?❤️

I came into this w/o any expectations.
As of late, my standards w/ kdrama and cdrama has been very high an i easily get bored. But this one really made my heart feel warm and fuzzy.

I loved the main couple.
Their chemistry was really good. From misunderstanding each other, to becoming friends then becoming more. The pacing was really nice. I grew with these characters because i saw how their emotions changed for one another.
I for one hate "love at first sight" and "heavily one sided crush for no reason except the ML is handsome" type of storyline and this one was neither.
They fell inlove as they got to know each other and that to me is very relatable.

The only thing that i disliked in this drama was the "villain" side characters. As usual they were beyond annoying and unreasonable but please bear with it. Things will eventually get better.

Lastly, the wardrobe for the FL i sooooo soo gooooood!!!! She is already so beautiful on her own and to top it off her outfits were well picked (which is pretty rare for tv dramas cos they are either repetitive or boring) but with this she looked beautiful from start to finish!!!

I'm glad i came to watch this!! What a good find ?✨

All in All light and fresh!!

From all the historical dramas that i've seen lately, this is the lightest of them all. Not much politics was involved. In short it was a very easy going drama.

To think i almost skipped this because of the ratings!!! This was actually a good watch. I liked the cast but somehow i was more invested in the 2nd couple!!! Their chemistry, amount of skinships and natural acting is just soooo soo beautiful and i thoroughly believed the emotions that they were trying to portray each time. Don't get me wrong I also liked the main CP but i felt like the emotions of the 2nd CP were a bit more deep and well felt than the main CP.

Also, the cast (all of them) were sooooo good looking it's unreal.

If you are looking for a light historical drama that doesn't involve that much politics, heartache and killings.... I recommend watching this!!! There were scenes that were a bit cliche but all in all a fun drama to watch!!

The Crowned Clown VS. Masquerade

I'm going to cut to the chase.
I've watched the movie version of this so this will most likely be me pointing out the difference between the two. Don't get me wrong, while I appreciate both versions I still felt the need to write my experience on this.

Let's start.

One thing that stood out to me when i dived into this is how they missed to include some of the details that were there in Masquerade.
To think that this ran for 16 episodes (which i think is more than enough to include some of the details that are supposed to be there)

1.
The training process of the King.
Every intricate detail to me is important and they should've included that. I am bummed that they failed to keep the detailed process of it in this version.
Also, the introduction for those people whom he needs to look out for was left out. I was like????
Was he supposed to know these things by heart?? Ofcourse not. In here it's like he taught himself everything??? How is that even possible for someone that is new to the palace. Ugh. I'm so frustrated this part should've been done flawlessly. In the movie version they were able to cover the training process. He was taught how to talk, behave, look at people like an actual King.

2.
The clown's behavior.
In this version, he looked at the King straight in the eyes when they met. That should not have happened. I've had my fair share of historical dramas to know that you CANNOT look at the King straight in the eye unless you were permitted to, high in position or extremely close to him.

Apart from those two, I would like to commend this version because albeit a few missing details that they failed to include... They added a lot w/c i think made me like this version more.

Let me point the things that I liked here:

The relationship of the Clown King and the Queen.
It wasn't highlighted at all in the movie version. I guess they weren't able to give light to it because of the time limit but here, it was highlighted.
I always appreciate when a little bit of romance is injected in a saeguk drama and here it was done really beautifully.

The relationship of the Clown King with his family and peers. I felt for how the people surrounding the Clown King was vouching for him, slowly putting their trust onto him and following through with the decision that he makes.

The Reign of the Clown King.
I for one truly believed that he made a great King. So i enjoyed watching him take the lead w/c eventually led the country to a peaceful time.
I wish they'd shown that in the movie version but ofc that wouldn't happen cos of the different fate of the Tyrant King in the movie version and the tv series version.

Can i just say both set of casts hits different.
Let me just say... I've always thought Yeo Jin Goo was a great actor, but the duality that he displayed here for me surprised the heck out of me. His image has always been goody two shoes so when i dived into this I wondered if he'll be able to do well as a tyrant King and oh my goodness he did so well! In this version though I might have to add the King w/c Yeo Jin Goo portrayed was not only a tryrant but a damn crazy one. He was another level of paranoid and crazy. In the movie version the King was a Tyrant but a bit more mellow and chill compared here but I loved that i get to see this side cos then him being addicted to drugs made sense.

The Queen.
The Queen in the movie version didn't get much air time but ofcourse was still great whenever she appears. Duh, it's Han Hyo Joo. But let me just say that I loved the Queen in this version. Lee Se Young's portrayal of the Queen was nicely done. In here she was not completely cold, just the right amount and I loved seeing the process of her slowly opening up the the Clown King. That was a gem.

The villain.
The set of villain in here and in the movie version also hits different. I hated the villain in this version more because they were really hateful. I honestly at one point wanted the King to just behead them to get things over with but where would the thrill be if it wasn't for them so ofc they were kept till the last min.

If i were to choose w/c version i prefer, I would have to say this. This version hit home for me.
