an emotional trainwreck
an emotional train wreck. i was so invested in this show, agog even, until i was completely aghast. the main couple turned out to be maybe-cousins at the end and i never recovered. not to mention, they were borderline just as rapey as the vegaspete storyline, not that you'd know it by listening to people talk about this show?? which says more about problematic stigma against BDSM more than anything else, maybe. not that the BDSM in this show was even depicted in a healthy fashion. fifty shades of grey, thai adaptation. even after everything, pete and vegas were both robbed of a proper ending, even though they had the most compelling story line. Arm is the real VIP of this narrative, if we're being completely honest here. I'll never watch it again 4/10Cet avis était-il utile?
a pure and good fun time, with a dash of trauma
"something that doesn't bother me could be someone else's huge burden. about pain, it's an absolute thing for a person. it's not something you can compare. if i feel pain, then it is pain. nobody can judge you."my god...this just a beautiful tease of the masterpieces we could have without discrimination in korean media. the depth of acting, the amazing interaction between these well-established fleshed out characters. the male leads don't necessarily have great romantic chemistry, but they like each other so much, you can feel it in such a pure way from the first episode. like, platonic love? very pure and healthy (except for that business at the end). kim so bin as yun-jeong was especially good, i found her character refreshing rather amidst what could have been very cliche or even harmful plot devices. all this with these über-short runtimes and limited episodes, they did a lot with very little ...korean BLs are too powerful, that's why the government had to nerf them.
*short addendum, did anyone else feel like the last episode was like, mostly fever dream? one instance where the pacing and short episodes did not pay off, and on the last episode? weird choice.

babe deserves the world
it was good (technically), but i didn't love it. the acting WAS good. i just didn't have a good time. my boy Babe deserves better (i got really attached to him because he's perfect and Pavel is an amazing actor) but he can have Charlie if that's what he really wants. i guess. the fact that it's ABO is so funny to me, like...the sniffing takes me tf out every time. like? don't include it, or commit to it 100%, please. i would rather Way have died in a horrific fire that exposes him for the monster that he is, rather than a blaze of glory making him out to be some sort of hero. but...i was not put in charge here.Cet avis était-il utile?
holland is so cute
holland is so cute, bro. it's always so good to see him. this is kinda frustrating at times, but i like it. the writing is really bad and it's awkward between the two leads like they just met that day (in every scene). even after they should have been more comfortable and established? but the ocean was so pretty it's worth watching for the visuals, if nothing else. what a beautiful location, i would eat noodles there any day.Cet avis était-il utile?
this show is so wholesome
this show is so wholesome. bro, Yuki is the most intense dude I have ever seen, he is so perplexing (he's actually a cat that was turned into a human, that's why he's like That). the couple that has had multiple cameo apperances in my BLs were getting a divorce in this one :( it was so sad, i felt like my parents were getting a divorce, Fu Ligong has the sweetest puppy eyes, i'm melting, how is his boy still standing after 20 years of that face. this show had Weird music. omg THE BLUE CAMP GOO HE MADE, he's so cute.Cet avis était-il utile?

what child me thought love would be like
first of all: they are both SO HOT. a major theme is realistic ideas about love between traumatized people, and that's delicious. the Looks (clothes, fashion, etc.) Yea Ji is serving are Giving to the point that they could be speaking complete gibberish and I would finish the series. the cinematography and Burton-esque cartoon sequences feed my inner child in a way few things in my adulthood have, in such a pure fashion. most of all, i re-watched this with a very good friend (who doesn't watch kdramas) over the span of a year, and she finished it with me and loved it.Cet avis était-il utile?
I really like it! ...until episode 7
I only watched the first 7 episodes because I was warned off of the rest of the series for some pretty serious reasons. The beginning of this couple's romance was sus as hell on both sides, but I feel they eventually met in the middle in a gay parlay. I will NOT be watching the entirety of this series, so it is complete to me. (which is why the highest I feel I can score is a 7. it would be higher as a consensual red flag romance if these first 7 episodes were standalone.)Cet avis était-il utile?
breathtaking
gateway drug to dramas, i was quaking from the first episode, watching this show is a canon event and cannot be interrupted. this is also how i got my mom into dramas, during quarantine. we never looked back. the acting is physically arresting, the musical score is poetry, you cannot ask for anything more.Cet avis était-il utile?
