Hi! My name is Jacky. I started off by watching K-Dramas first in 2020 then got more into C-Dramas in 2023, although I started watching some in 2021. Tbh, I was more focused into K-Dramas until 2023, where I began to focus on C-Dramas even more especially the historical Wuxia/Xianxia dramas which I've been wanting to watch for some time already. I regret not watching C-Dramas earlier that now, whenever I watch K-Dramas, I can't help but compare them with C-Dramas because I find them (if I had tbh) less enjoyable than when I used to love watching them before diving into the C-Drama world deeper.

My favorite drama of all-time is "The Untamed". I've had this on my watchlist since 2020 and only started watching it in April of 2023. Here's a story. I remember adding this to my list on Netflix and I was curious because I knew I added this years ago. Seems like I did even before many 2020 K-Dramas that I remember adding when they were just new. It was the 11th drama I've added since using the account. Oh gosh, how nice it would've been to live the memories of having watched "The Untamed" when it was just new! It was nearing 4 years old when I watched it. Full of regrets.

Well, I am ranting a lot and this is just me haha. Because if I LOVE something sooo much, I will regret not getting into it earlier, you get me? I promised myself I would rewatch this every year, and decided to give it another watch in 2024 and love it even MORE! The chemistry between the leads is off-the-roof. On my first watch, I remember being so excited to FINALLY watch it after years of having it on my list. I enjoyed it from the get-go.

I loved the leads. Especially WEIYING! Omg, I couldn't with his "not following (breaking) the rules" and "fooling/joking around" guy. I couldn't stop laughing because of him. And Weiying and Lan Zhan being on screen together made me start to feel many heart-flutters. My heart started to flutter whenever I saw them on screen together and I couldn't help but smile. Oh gosh, I remember when I learned years ago about "The Untamed" being about soulmates (two guys - BL) fighting alongside each other against everyone. Since I wasn't into BL at that time, I was wondering how I'd think of the drama. Despite learning that this was a BL drama, I saw only good reviews on the drama so yeah, it has always been on my watchlist. I actually thought that it would be a really good drama because it sounded and looked cool. Well, my expectations were NOT failed when I watched it. It actually exceeded them I would say, though I had very high expectations for it due to the many years I've been longing to watch it.

I remember in September 2021 telling my sister we should watch this drama one day before it gets old ksjdfhkjshdfkj. I remember at that time my dad only had the Netflix subscription where only 2 could watch at a time so we were figuring out where the other one would watch it just because we most likely wouldn't be able to watch it at the same time on Netflix due to it being 50 eps long! But anyways, we may have done our research (we found YouTube and another website - don't remember that other website tbh) but I remember telling my sister that I WANTED to watch it on Netflix XDDD!!! Despite all that, well, it seems we didn't watch it until early 2023 TT! That time, she watched it a bit before me actually haha then I watched after. Not sure why that happened but that was like one of our first historical Chinese dramas we've ever watched.

Not only was "The Untamed" one of the first dramas that got us into Wuxias/Xianxias, but it became our VERY first drama to get us into BL, a genre that we now LOVE (mainly historical Chinese ones). It's unfortunate how China is so strict that we don't even know when BLs like Immortality, Winner Is King, Heaven Official's Blessing, etc., will come out (especially the latter which was, btw, written by the same author as MDZS [TU original work]). Let's just hope for the best!

Anyways, as a huge MDZS/CQL fan, at first, I was watching some BTS videos of the leads which I always enjoyed watching. I watched even more after the rewatch and I can't tell you enough how much I adore and love Wangxiao's (Wang Yibo X Xiao Zhan) relationship! It's so heartbreaking to think we may not see them again (let's hope we can after XZ's contract expires). I miss seeing their close interactions with each other :( Anyways, enough of that. Let's talk about how I bought all the books, some of the comics, and after reading the novels, I will start watching the donghua and chibi versions. I've done some listening on the audio drama and I love it especially since Weiying's voice is the same as in TU ahhhhh!!!!!

Okay, that's it. But I wanna say I also bought more BL books like TGCF, Husky and his White Cat Shizun, Stars of Chaos, and Scum Villain! Let's hope these dramas will come out one day! I will have eternal faith on the eternal wait I will have to embark as I become an immortal!

PEACE OUT!
