1 Litre of Tears indeed
This is a drama I feel quite uncomfortable reviewing because it was based on a real story of a very strong young girl who had to deal with this heartless disease. It's the first drama that I've seen, as far as I remember, that was based on a real story so it impacted me on a personal level, which didn't happen with other sad dramas.
It was really touching how we got to witness the consequences of Aya's disease not only on her life but also on every other character's life. Her siblings, her parents, her friends, her lover. I think the cast was very well chosen and fit their roles perfectly. Also, unlike other people, I don't mind that Haruto's character was written specifically for the drama because his character added another layer of reflection and represented Aya's "lost" love life.
There were many impactful scenes, like the one where Ako is scolding Hiro or the scenes where the students are singing that beautiful song together. I think they did the best they could to make sure Aya would always be remembered as a sweet, strong, stunning young girl who had a heart of gold and touched so many people with her sensitivity and honest wiseness.
