Very well balanced

Okay I am so impressed with this bl. Typically in bls, there are confusing plot lines or something that’s not explained well. This one blew all my expectations away. I watched and felt completely satisfied with how it ended and the story. For bls the side stories are typically very poorly explained or whatnot but not this one. All the side stories are explained very well and I feel in love with each and everyone of them. They were all so cute. I don’t have really any criticism to give it. However I would have liked to know why Win chose Team. It’s not very well explained in my opinion. I would have also liked to know why Dean chose Pharm. and why they all chose each other. Otherwise it was very well done.

The acting was so good. Like holy crud. It was so good and probably the best I’ve seen. The only thing is Waan and Tul’s relationship didn’t really have a spark for me. I didn’t really get the feeling they were together or dating or seriously in love as compared to the other side stories. The acting and the cast did an excellent job with their characters.

I’m also really impressed with the character Manow. I don’t typically really like female support characters in bls because I find them annoying if anything(if not family). But Manow is literally the best. I love her actor and her character so much. She was so funny and did such an amazing job I would love to see more of her work. Like dang. I love her so much.

The story was really good. I could follow along very well and never really felt lost in the drama. I always knew exactly what was happening. The reason I gave 9 stars is because of Waan and Tul and a couple explanation errors. It’s just Waan and Tul while cute isn’t very much needed in the story. Could’ve ended up as friends in my opinion. The way they explained Waan and Tul was actually not the best. Sure Tul lied but the jump from Waan being mad at Tul to them having sex is very terribly explained. It’s like what happened to everything? Waan just forgave him and moved on? Weird. Also I would like more backstory with Win and his family. It does give some but I want to know more about Win. I want to know his feeling and what he’s thinking. With Team it was perfect but with Win it almost skimmed over it. Although I really love how they show the internal conflict with Win. How he feels or why he may be unsure of loving someone. It’s just amazing. I love the part where Team has to take care of Win because for once Win has to rely on someone to take care of him. This bl just addresses so many things that are relevant and it was amazing. The character development is truly something. I love it all. All the characters had a unique growth and it was truly amazing. I will definitely be rewatching today.

I would definitely recommend giving this a go. It’s one of my favorite ones. Right up there with We Best Love which if you haven’t seen you should. Be prepared to have tissues handy because this one pulls the heart strings just right.

Thought: I honestly forgot Between Us is the side story of UWMA. So I understand better now. I think on its own Between Us is fine and a great series but since it follows UWMA it needed to incorporate some of UWMA. Like I honestly had no idea and completely forgot. I know Between Us focused on WinTeam but like bro. Got to incorporate here.

It could use some tweaking

So I’ve kept up with this drama and I’m not disappointed. However, it’s not as sweet as I think it could be. Ai seems to be quite a sweet boy whose actually sensitive. While Nhai is this goofy but adorable character. There are countless moment where I think it could be sweeter. However Ai takes very good care of Nhai which is sweet. But like for example Nhai gets upset over small issues and it’s like played off as a joke? I’m not sure how to describe it. But for me it lacks in seriousness in some moments.

This drama is incredibly steamy. Like it’s really fckin hot. There are many scenes where Nhai and Ai like really get into it with their kissing. The chemistry is way off the charts. It feels natural and not forced at all. Which is good considering irl the actors have a 5 year age gap. It’s good that they are able to be comfortable with each other. The actors of the cast are all very handsome and portray their characters amazingly. It’s very believable.

Now for the story. The story is a bit…weird. Like Ai saw Nhai and went ‘hot damn son now that’s a catch’ It just seems a bit to unrealistic for someone to just instantaneously look at another person and fall in so much love in that moment. In a bl there is typically a problem trying to tear apart the couple but where is it exactly? People are going to say the mom but like she kinda isn’t though. All she did was demand Nhai to break up with Ai and that’s kinda it. Nothing really else happened. Then others will say the mom sent her daughter. Like yes but also no. The mom didn’t send her daughter to break up the relationship. Just to hand Ai some food and to request that Ai visit the mom. So yep. Where’s the problem? And then there’s the whole JaoNan and Ai’s dad. I’m still watching it as the last ep has yet to air but JaoNan to me seems a bit suspicious. Like he has this deep rooted hate for the mom. Like I don’t like her either but JaoNan’s hate for her seems way to deep to just be the fact the mom messed with the family. Also there seems to be quite a bit of side stories which makes me think there’s going to be a season 2 unless they can explain it all in the last ep. There are some scenes that I though could be improved. Like when Ai’s mom digs her nails into Nhai’s wrist so hard I thought she might break the skin and have him bleed. Ai was just like totally chill when he came down to get Nhai with medicine. He didn’t freak out or get super mad or anything. I know Nhai was just like complaining and whatnot but Ai didn’t seem very concerned.

I do like however that this bl in particular does a very good job of showing the process of Nhai trying to figure out if he’s gay or not. Nhai goes and visits a family friend who’s gay and asks him how to know if he’s gay or not. This bl in particular does a very nice job of portraying homosexuality. The friends don’t care that Nhai is dating a guy. Nhai’s family doesn’t care either. No one really seems to give a crap that they’re gay except the mom. Even the daughter doesn’t care. I was actually surprised to learn in the drama that Ai has two dads that live together as husbands as that was a first for me. Because most bls do not have gay parents raising a kid. But it was so perfect in every way. Also this drama is not bad with consent. I know there was that whole drunk ordeal but Ai did say stop three times and asked Nhai if he wanted him to stop. But after that Ai takes it nice and slow and doesn’t force himself on Nhai in any particular way.

Overall I really like this drama. Even thought it’s not done airing I keep rewatching some certain scenes that I like or particularly enjoyed. I would definitely recommend giving this drama a try if you’re looking for something very simple and not too hard on pulling the heart strings. This drama has nice comedic undertones where I found myself laughing during the drama. I’m actually very excited for the last episode. When it’s done airing I will come back and update this review for a better, more thought out response. This was just my take on it so far.

Update:

Alright now I have finished watching this. I’m going to miss them a lot. So let me finish my review. I’m honestly a little confused about the mom. She kind of just disappears? Like in the last ep I kept expecting something bad but it never really came. So I think the mom could have used a bit more work as the way it ended was just really like boring. Ai and Nhai are just too cute. They are so cute and adorable. They’re fun and there’s just something about the way Ai looks at Nhai that I love. The side stories however are just way too brief. Literally Ton and Chon somehow magically end up together and there’s no real explanation or anything. Nai is just like there with a broken heart and the other guy is somehow getting pursued yet nothing happens. The side characters just had so much potential and their stories are just way too brief. JaoNan and Sib are just amazing. Their chemistry, their acting, their everything. It’s just too perfect. I love them as a couple so much.

For me the last ep was kind of disappointing. I think if it was just a regular ep it would’ve been fine but for a last ep it was underwhelming. Although we did see something happen in that shoe store that I though could’ve been done a bit better. When Nhai brought Ai to the roof I thought they were going to maybe redo it but no. That definitely did not happen. But yeah. For a last ep it was eh. Nothing too exciting.

I really hope this gets a season two because there is still a lot of things that have happened that need more explanation or more things done. This drama I feel could use more work on explaining things as it kind of jumps around a lot. This drama focuses a lot on Ai and Nhai’s relationship and their character development is insane but the side characters and Nhai’s friends don’t experience a lot of character development. It’s not like disappointing but it’s something that could’ve been worked on.

I recommend this if you want a nice and light bl. There’s not a lot of heart pulling or quarreling. The mains are just so perfect with each other and this drama is actually pretty funny. Definitely give this drama a try. It’s something I particularly enjoy rewatching because it’s just very enjoyable.

This is very good for a Kbl

So I’ve actually read the webtoon and watched the drama. Let me start off by saying the drama is basically a PG version of the webtoon which is 18+. The drama just completely blows me away. I’m so impressed with how good it is. Because it’s a Kbl my expectations were to say not very high. However my expectations were blown out of the water. I love all the characters and the cast. They all looked pretty comfortable with each other. The story in the drama though is a bit confusing for me. I wondered when certain things would get explained when they just ended up not getting talked about. Also the side couple felt way rushed and very poorly explained. The webtoon does a better job explaining as I feel like the drama skimmed over it and just barely scraped the surface of that relationship. The main couple is so cute. They’re adorable and I’m very impressed with their acting. I think the actors did a very good job with the characters. They both fit the webtoon very nicely. When I first watched Unintentional love story I kept rewatching it because it was so good. It’s like super untoxic. Nothing bad really happens. (Well side couple different story). If I could change something it’s that the webtoon is actually very good at talking about homosexuality and how Wonyoung found out he’s gay. It’s a a whole process because originally Wonyoung only dated girls. I know it’s a Kbl but I would’ve loved to see that added in.

This by far exceeded any of my expectations. In a way it reminded me of Roommates of Poongduck 304. The drama and the webtoon differ by quite a lot but I love them both very much. I also think the kiss scenes weren’t that bad compared to other bls I’ve watched. At least it was pretty believable. It’s important to remember that the actors themselves may or may not be gay and I think it’s both the main actors first BL drama to do so they probably were in fact uncomfortable a bit to be kissing someone of the same gender on camera.

(Keep reading for spoilers in webtoon. Otherwise skip)

Now… to talk about the webtoon for those curious. Basically, Taejoon and his dad don’t get along. Like absolutely zero. It was believed the father took pics of Taejoon and Choi Inho(the ex) and threatened to send pics of them together as a couple to Inho’s work and family. So they broke it off but in actuality Inho didn’t want to be in the relationship anyways and begged the dad to get out of it and to be super rich and famous. In the webtoon, TaeJoon and Wonyoung are very um… active to say the least. They’re like always doing it. Taejoon builds a studio in Seoul to live with Wonyoung. However, Hotae and DongHee kind of slept together, when DongHee got drunk. After that, he kind of disappeared, but was later found in the end they both got together, and that is a summary of what happened. But TaeJoon and Wonyoung do get engaged. Like rings and everything. It’s actually pretty cute.

Actually not that bad.

I was pretty excited to watch this ever since the trailer and had some pretty good expectations. To be honest the story line is very odd. It doesn’t make 100% sense. We never got to see what Thoop was doing that required him to constantly need money from Cher. The boss and Cher falling in love just seems so spontaneous. The established couple Zo and Three are super cute! I liked they had a bit of their own screen time but it was a bit just placed there with imo no real need. The story line is pretty grim too for such a light romance bl.

I like ForceBook as an acting pair. Many people watch this because of Force, but I liked them both. The chemistry and acting was really good. I don’t think Book overacted for Cher. I know some people who are actually literally like Cher. Cher just seems to be that type of character. I like how they show insane character development also. At first the boss wasn’t too social and liked a routine thing. But after Cher the boss was trying new things and going out and having fun. A lot of people didn’t like ep 11 because Cher sort of broke up but I really understood. Cher wanted a break to get his life together because he was close to graduation. But the boss was clingy and because of that Cher knew the boss wouldn’t let him go so easily. I’m not sure about Gun’s mom though. She didn’t seem like the whole homophobic mom I thought she was going to be. Gun said his mom tried to ungay him so it raised my homophobia sensor. But she was not like that at all. She was like understanding? Complete opposite. I like how Jack was watching out for Cher because let’s be honest here. A company owner and an intern? That’s pretty scandalous tbh. It’s depicted as bad in the drama but it’s actually not. I’d be concerned too if any of my friends didn’t that.

One thing I didn’t like was the time line. Basically the first 11 eps and half of ep 12 is during Cher’s internship which is 3months? It doesn’t seem like 3 months go by at all. Then in the last half of ep 12 the boss states it’s been a year since Cher’s graduation. I was so confused by that. It just jumped through space and time? I would’ve thought Gun would’ve popped the question in that time sphere. Anyways the mention of time passing does come up quite frequent by how close Cher’s graduation is. Also they didn’t show Tian’s anniversary. Which I would’ve liked to see personally. Or the arrest of the step dad.

I really like this and it was easy to watch. I kept smiling during the last ep. It was so cute. However the story line makes it pretty grim. It’s good but need a way better story line.

This is so stupid but good in its own way.

When watching the trailer I thought it was going to be way different. I thought we were gonna get this super like abusive toxic thing but that’s not what happened. I think Day losing his memory kind of makes it not that bad but still bad that in its own way. However, this really isn’t that bad.

To be honest, this is a drama I think you either love it or hate it. I think the actors Long and Frank are way better off camera than acting. There’s so much cuter together as themselves than as Day and Itt. I was watching a clip from a fan meeting they did and Frank got really emotional talking about how much Long means to him. I think the idea of the story line isn’t terrible. It can definitely work however, it’s just executed very poorly. I actually like this drama better than a lot of other people. The author is the same for unforgotten night so that may be why. The book for unforgotten night is so messy. Like if I didn’t know any better, I’d say the drama and the book are both different things not related to each other. That’s just how different they are. And to be honest I think I’m going to need to read the books for life syndrome just to see how different it is from the drama. I’m not like surprise they kind of got married in the end, but it was so like spontaneous. At least an unforgotten night it made sense even though it’s not originally in the book it made sense.

I really like all the actors though. I thought they were all very handsome and did a good job with the character portrayal. They all seemed to have very good and natural chemistry with each other. Nothing felt very awkward.

Now they’re preparing for the first book of love syndrome. I saw that announcement on Frank’s Instagram page. To be honest, I’m not very excited for it because love syndrome was kind of a letdown, but I think I’m gonna watch it just to understand what exactly is happening and how bad the relationship is and just how terrible everything is. I’m actually kind of dreading the drama, but at the same time I kind of want to see what happened to make them get to that point in the drama. But from my understanding basically everyone in the drama should be in jail and not a couple.

God, this is so painful to watch, but yet kind of enjoyable

Not bad for a KBl

CONTAINS SEMI SPOILERS IG

Thoughts:
I’m honestly a little disappointed. The webcomic for this drama has 48 episodes while the drama has only 10 episodes that are about 15 mins each. The director in the webcomic is drawn to be a bit younger and acts more flirtatious and full of emotions than the drama one. The webcomic Seol DongBaek is just so cute. He acts super sweet and innocent. Now, typically I don’t find myself enjoying KBl due to the incredible short amount of run time and lack of understanding. However I think this KBl is by far one of the best ones that explains what tf is happening. In other Kbls it mostly just skims around and jumps so you can never fully grasp but I found myself understanding for the most part what was happening. The concept of this was actually pretty interesting but I feel like it just told what happened to them 300 years ago and doesn’t like explain much about why they like each other or what they did together as a couple 300 years ago since they were definitely not of the same class in hierarchy. It just said ‘hey you name that kid? Well he’s going to die and now you guys are stuck reincarnating to fall in love. One of you is going to remember the other is not. Oh and btw if you guys fail to fall in love one of you is going to suffer and yk possibly die.’ And that’s pretty much it. I feel it didn’t explain enough about the curse at all. The curse was just ‘y’all are going to live forever and fall in love or else die on each reincarnation.’ It never really explained how the curse would be lifted or when they would know.

This is a pretty cute Kbl. The acting isn’t bad at all. Although I am confuzzled because before the director is like kind of emotionless and serious but after um everything he’s like oddly warm and welcoming to Seol DongBaek. Maybe it’s because he don’t remember anything. Idk anymore. Although in the drama when the director gets flustered I must say it is funny and kinda cute in a sense. The acting is nice and pretty believable. I think the chemistry is great and was not bad at all. The way the cast acted was very good.

The story:
Firstly I have a theory that Denis may in fact be the killer from 300 years ago who was also cursed to keep reliving over and over again. So maybe the curse is more of a ‘hey fall in love or your killer will like yk become a murderer again.’ The story is not bad at all. It’s nice and has a good flow of events. However I personally would’ve liked to see Seol DongBaek regain his memories. I mean it’s fine that he doesn’t and it doesn’t change the story but if he did I think that would’ve been pretty cool. I would’ve definitely like to have seen more of the director and Seol DongBaek’s relationship. I almost feel like Seol DongBaek spent more time with Denis than the director. This may be petty but I need more of jealous director moments. I swear if the director found out about the um cosmetic situation with Denis he’d flip. This Kbl definitely has its comedic moments though. I mean I’m sure some of you have seen shorts on YT about it. This Kbl actually has a lot of emotions happening. So be prepared *dabs eyes with tissue*

Music: The music was actually really good. I think the intro music was really cute and I thought it was very nice. Now the OST was freakin beautiful. It fits perfectly for this Kbl. It was so emotional.

I definitely have already rewatched it because I think it’s pretty enjoyable. It’s nice and simple with just the right amount of emotion. I just pray we get a second season because WTF was that ending? I mean come onnnn. You can’t end a Bl like that and make no announcements about a second season. Although it is pretty in line with the ending of the webcomic so I guess I can’t be too mad at it.

It could’ve been better

I watched this and felt it was a really shallow drama. Such as K-bls it was incredibly short. I would describe it as a summary of a drama. It left me with more questions at the end. Like what is the story of the vampire and his deceased lover? How did the vampire meet his vampire friend? How does the humans brother know about vampires and the fact the main lead is a pure blood human? It was just confusing. This drama moves at light speed. One second the vampire is trying to drink the humans blood the next him and the human are in love and finally the vampire dies. The end. However I did read it will get a second season so I hope I can understand better wtf happened.
I did really love though how the drama was about a selfless love. The vampire chose not to drink his lover’s blood because it could’ve killed his lover. In doing so the vampire dies. His lover offered his blood freely and the vampire still refused it. I thought that was actually a very beautiful thing. Actually when the vampire dies I teared up a bit because it was actually a heart breaking scene.
The acting is actually very good and very believable. The chemistry is on point and perfect. The actors are very handsome and there love scenes felt very natural. Actually one thing I notice is that with KBl the kiss scene is actually not something that just happens. It’s worked up to and when it happens it’s actually a very beautiful scene. That’s why the kiss scene is actually a very celebrated moment in KBl because it’s actually quite a beautiful scene.

This will include things from the novel

So basically I’m going to divide in two parts then compare them at the end

Drama part:

So basically this is probably the best and worst drama I’ve watched that’s about mafia. The acting is at best sub-par. But the thing is I am not sure if the acting is bad due to the character portrayal or not because irl the actors are so cute with each other. Although the characters the presented did kinda make me believe that the love in Kamol’s part was at least real. If you want to watch this because of BDSM elements this is definitely not it. I think the only true BDSM scene is the one in the very first episode and that scene is even stretching it to be called a BDSM scene. And there are 12 episodes. The story line is actually not bad at all. Although the fact that Kamol chose Kim purely off the fact that Kim could withstand Kamol’s violence during sex has always been very odd to me. I do like the drama a lot though because it makes more sense than the novel to me and they add somethings in not originally included in. The drama at the end shows Kim and Kamol getting married and meeting his parents which is not in the novel so that was actually a very nice touch I loved because in bls typically there is not a marriage scene. I’m aware that the drama may not show things in the novel because the novel is actually pretty intense and due to the viewing audiences not being very open about it due to the fact that Thailand is an Asian country and Asian countries are typically pretty conservative with their views. Overall great drama but could use a bit of work.

Novel:

I’m just going to start off by saying the novel is wayyyy dirtier than the drama. In the novel Kim and Kamol are like always having genuine BDSM sex. And I mean the real thing with tying up and everything. I’m just going to put this out here but it’s so real that Kim actually starts bleeding the first time he hooks up with Kamol due to um repeated uh… penetration of a certain someone. Also in the novel Kamol is portrayed as much flirtier than in the drama. There are certain habits in the novel not portrayed in the drama such as Kamol always chuckles a bit if he thinks Kim is being cute. Kamol called Kim his wife so frequent it’s found in literally every chapter. Kamol is also shown to be far more possessive and I guess I would say more intimidating and authoritative. Kim is portrayed as much more hot headed, emotional, and thirsty for sex. In the novel Kim is depicted as a very fair skinned man who is very pretty. People actually mistake him for a woman at times. The novel actually doesn’t show as many sweet scenes as it does in the drama. I personally felt the novel was a bit messy as I often got a bit lost while reading it. I say this because in the novel Danai is actually not the one who kidnapped Danil and Kim. It was a former enemy named Chen who kidnapped them due to some conflicting business issues such as stealing customers and business. The drama adds Cherry in who is not originally included in the novel. However I like it because it adds understanding. I’m not entirely sure but I think the author might have been a bit horny when writing this novel. All the sex scenes are very intense and Kim and Kamol don’t just do it once in a night. They do it maybe three or four times in a night. The novel actually depicts Kim as more of an avid drinker than shown in the drama. However after he meets Kamol he stops drinking so much. Kim mainly drank to forget Day. In the novel there is no threesome of the bodyguards so basically the director of the drama said ‘fuck it we’ll throw it in’. The tigers are much more symbolic as well. Their names are Chantilly and Whipped- Cream. When Kamol rescues Kim the second time he brings the tigers with him and the tigers actually attack and bite Chen ultimately killing him. Also when Kim is in the tiger cage and Danil comes to see him Chantilly actually approached Kim and licks his face in affection. The novel actually has funny parts such as Kim can tell when Kamol or his subordinates lie to him or Kamol knowing when Kim will be mad at him. I think what I like most about the novel though is that it does show how Kim changed Kamol’s life. Such as after work Kamol would grab drinks or hook up with a call boy. After Kim, Kamol stopped doing that and even started to go home immediately after work. Also it shows a little bit more of a human side to Kamol because originally it says Kamol would not get much sleep and would even go nights without sleeping. So then Kim would tell Kamol to sleep and rest and on the vacation Kamol actually sleeps normal hours which Kamol is unfamiliar with.

Comparison:

Now that I think about it I think the drama might be bad because the novel is just really messy. The directors of the drama had to add characters and change the entire story around to be understandable compared to the novel. One thing I did like in the novel is the fact that Aunt Nee is shown as more of a mother to Kim. It was very sweet. I prefer the drama over the novel because it makes sense and I feel more sweet than the novel. Like in the drama there are many scenes where Kim and Kamol just talk. Like seriously talk which is not often found in the novel. I also feel that the drama is more in depth than the novel. The novel is pretty shallow as it mostly revolves around misunderstandings and petty arguing. Although in the novel Kim did punch and kick the shit out of Danai which I loved. I really love the drama though even if it is a bit comical due to bad portrayal. The novel though is more of a ‘turn on’ to read. Its explicit with the sex scenes. The rest of the novel is pretty shallow and doesn’t have much feel to it. While in the drama there is less sex and more feel. Basically if I didn’t know any better I would say the novel and the drama are different things with a ton of coincidences. That’s how different they are. They just have too many coincides to be considered different.

For anyone wondering about Khom and Baiboon:

In the novel it’s actually way worse than in the drama. Baiboon is wrote as 15 years old while Khom is definitely much older than Baiboon so the relationship between them is much more creepy as it kind of shows grooming towards Baiboon. Baiboon is left with Aunt Nee(his grandma) after his mother abandoned him. His father died when he was young in an accident and his mother later in life got a boyfriend and abandoned her son to be with her boyfriend and took the money Aunt Nee transferred to her which is why Baiboon wasn’t in school and started halfway through the semester.
