Finally The Band is Doing Music

Now at Ep10 only they show the band practice. And it's not even a practice but playing an already arranged song in the practice room. Also for some reason there was a prolonged scene of Yi Chan playing guitar. Like you made this guy master guitar overnight in previous couple of episodes but only now worrying about his finger calluses? So much the afterthought clean up after the badly researched earlier episodes. Yeah the CLASSIC VILLAIN works once again to give dynamic to the rather average high school romance episode...as well as the panic attack to give more pseudo depth to the bland story.

Make mess first then cover up later

6.5/10 Rating is for Episode 9 only but the review is including all episodes until this one. **LONG LONG SPOILER** ---------------------------------The writer wrote some bullshits in early episode then only trying hard to cover it up on the next. Examples: ------------------------------------------BS#1: At Ep1 they use Tears in Heaven as the trigger for the young MC to start learning guitar. However at the end of that unbelievable short crash course guitar lesson the kid undergone that made him genius, we never got to see he is playing the Clapton's song. Strangely now at Ep9 the writer forcing MC to sing this song. And some more we got to see he's imagining playing the guitar. The use of the song is also questionable for the mood of the scene. Why didn't the writer make him sings Wonderful Tonight instead? ----------------------------------------------------BS#2: At Ep3 Se Kyeong challenged Yi Chan to play Nirvana's Come As You Are. While everyone on earth knows Nirvana's songs are never the difficult, the writer was so clueless claiming/insisting in the writing that she chose this song because it is difficult. I suspect somebody must have mentioned that misconception to her right after that episode. To cover it up, now the band is no longer have to play Nirvana because according to the time slipped Se Kyeong's Daughter, Korean songs are better as one day it will top the chart! What a convenient cover up. -------------------------------------------------------------BS#3: To make things believable how MC could recognize Se Kyeong the first time they met, the writer show us that MC once saw the picture of younger Se Kyeong when he visited her house. The funny part is the photo is a "candid photo" of Se Kyeong walking in school uniform carrying her cello. Would anyone put a candid photo like that inside a picture frame for DISPLAY especially on a such rich, high class family? Now after the revelation of the daughter, we got to see 2 photos inside 2 frames with same candid style, with same uniform, with same cello casing....this was the biggest LMAO moment in the drama (not a compliment to writer). ----------------------------------------------------------BS#4: Now to cover up why Cheong Ah (MC's mother) has to go to normal school, the writer make her living inside a family full of ridiculous villainy people. The best part is the father said he didn't allow Cheong Ah learning sign language because he didn't want people know about his daughter disability. Now tell me how is that logical when you still send her to normal school where the teachers and students can spread the news to public? --------------------------------------------------------------------Other than that, the drama so far is a mixed of boring part and make-believe-emotional part. The Cheong Ah's story arc seems like the best because she's surrounded by the CLASSIC VILLAINS. The unreasonable characters that become villain for the sake of becoming villain...LOL. -------------------------------------------------------------The conflicts between Eun Gyol and Yi Chan is tiring and annoying. ---------------------------------------------------The band's part is also superficial where we don't get to see they actually practicing any songs. Instead the writer choose to make them worry about the side jobs like where should they put instrument on stage, or making T-Shirts. This writer is actually a JOKE when it comes to writing music drama I would say!! ----------------------------------------------------------The addition of Se Kyeong's daughter is actually put colors to the otherwise boring drama, although she is not a welcoming character. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The technological aspect is also full of BS. Although device like "pager" existed around the time, the number of people using it is limited. Secondly while the internet exist, it's not readily available at every household. The flyers printout to looking for the missing Eun Gyol is also BS. It is much cheaper to make photocopy than to print many pieces in one-go like portrayed in this make-believe drama!! And not everyone/school could afford the Laser Jet Printer to have the quality of printed photo they shown in the drama.

You Know Nothing About Music But You Are Forming A Band?

I guess the writer is clueless about music and band culture when "Come As You Are" is considered a difficult song to play. Not to mention the stereotyped of people living in the past that is portrayed as dumb for comic relief. Overall a pretty draggy episode with the MC suddenly become dumb by calling everyone he met in 1995 as Dad and Ahjuma.
