I'd like to think that I watch Dramas with a critical eye, using my post-modern deconstructionist education. That my interest and time spent as a writer will always give me insight into the modes and methods that Drama writers use to succeeded or fail at their craft. 

I'd like to think that my time studying Japanese history and living in South Korea has given me cultural insight that many people in my country just don't have.  

But in reality, I follow the pretty. 

Like a cat watching a laser pointer, or a baby looking at shiny keys, I just... like watching the pretty. 

It's all very shallow. Like, so, so very shallow. I have ignored acclaimed shows and have devoted hours to others depending on how it looks. The actors mainly. 

*Cough* 

But yeah. I like a good story in addition to the pretty. It doesn't have to be amazing, it just has to get me in the feels. This is second most important thing for me after the pretty.

Should I just give my degree back? Honestly. 

Anyway, can't stand hospital procedurals. I don't care how good it's suppose to be. I see a tired person in a lab coat heading for a coffee machine only to be interrupted by the crashing of that van full of tourists we were all shown five minutes earlier, I'm out. Ouuuuttt. 

Police procedurals have to be more thriller-y than case by case. If I see a tired, hang dog detective, half way through a divorce because he just can't turn off, even for his daughter's dance recital, I'm out. Gone like that detective halfway through his anniversary dinner.    

I love good cohabitation hijinks, thrillers that make you look at people differently, and the pretty.
