Almost the greatest most comforting show of all time
Honestly, this show had everything going for it. The cast was phenomenal and their chemistry was unmatched. The soundtrack is one for the record books. The story was simple but heartfelt and engaging- young people fighting for each other’s dreams despite ‘the times’ and the world seemingly all against them. There was a time jump involved in the storytelling with the daughter not having the same last name as the love interest from the main timeline, so there was also mystery involved, which was exciting. Despite the last name confusion, the style of storytelling was very hopeful, leaving you thinking that perhaps there was a clever trick played by the storyteller. The kind of trick that would make you go ‘aha!’ At the end and breathe a sigh of relief and joy because of course- of course! Na Hee Do and Back Ye Jin are still together, why wouldn’t they still be together when they fight for each other and support each other and love each other again and again and again, despite all odds. So so so despite the confusion, we watched this show with hope and excitement for the end but whoops we were fooled- the ending was not happy. Well, technically it was “happy.” Supposedly the characters are healthy and happy, but the viewers experienced the breakup just 20 minutes ago and so a ‘happy ending’ just isn’t sitting well when we haven’t had years of grieving and learning and growing and falling in love again with someone new like the characters have. We weren’t given any of that so the “happy ending” feels false and cruel. I’m left wondering why why why were they not able to work through the final problem like they have all the others? Why?? Yes, I understand that people break up and some people are in your life just for a season, but I don’t want to watch a show about relationships that are like ships passing in the night, there’s enough of that in real life. I want to watch a show about people who make it work and fight for each other and keep fighting for each other so I can see that it can happen and I can have hope.Anyways, enough of my ranting and sobbing. I’m just really disappointed at the over-romanticization of youth that happened in this show and I wanted more of a romanticization of all of life. But i didn’t find it in this show and I’m disappointed.
Besides how it ended, this show is absolutely gorgeous. But now I don’t want to recommend it to anyone because that ending was a whole lot of . . . Bleh.

RED FLAG RED FLAG RED FLAG . . . But also dang that boy is pretty . . .
What on earth . . . Did i just watch . . .The cover poster is blue but it should have been red because this show is just packed full of screaming red flags.
In the show’s favor, “my beautiful man” did in fact have the most beautiful man I have ever seen. He was gorgeous.
The other point in the show’s favor (slight spoiler) is in one episode they had a water fight during detention and it had the most beautiful music playing and the cinematography was breathtaking.
But otherwise this show was . . . Idk . . . It was just so concerning. One of the first lines was ‘most people think the world is a globe’ which made us think he was a flat-earther (which is concerning) but then he says ‘but it’s actually a pyramid’ (which left us even more concerned for him.) Cause like lol wut? I understand you were being poetic but like wut?? This character was just overall incredibly worrisome.
Another spoiler but it’s actually also a ***trigger warning.**** The main character has daydreams where he shoots the people around him. This show is obviously Japanese, duh, but as an American viewer that was actually very upsetting and disturbing as that kind of thing actually happens quite frequently in American schools. So . . . Idk if they were trying to be humorous? Or what? but it just took the show from “well that’s weird and concerning” to “code red code red this boy is THE biggest red flag.”
So yeah . . . In summary . . . I would not recommend . . . But Kiyoi is sooooooooo pretttttyyyyy.

What the . . .
What the actual heck did I just watch . . . Lol . . . So many plot twists. The acting was on point and the writing was interesting, I feel like for it to have been a success though, it should have been a lot longer. It was such a quick and sudden rollercoaster it gave me whiplash. Wouldn’t necessarily recommend but since it’s overall less than an hour you wouldn’t be wasting too much time and I think it’s nice to support small scale creators and projects like this. It’s certainly creative, I’ll give it that!Cet avis était-il utile?

Absolute Favorite
My favorite thing about this show, besides the main leads and their phenomenal chemistry and adorable relationship, is that this show is so unexpected! They give you what you think to be a typical plot device and they completely flip it on its head delightfully and unexpectedly. You think ‘oh here we go with a miscommunication trope’ and then BOOM the characters communicate beautifully and you are delightfully surprised. Every single time they surprised me!The visuals and cinematography were fantastic, the soundtrack was iconic and the characters, main and side were so absolutely loveable. They way this show had me literally yeeting myself off the bed with laughter and then shedding actual non self-pity tears (which is rare in this economy tbh) the next scene.
Please watch this show and love this show, I want to give it the world and my first born child. Like seriously if my love isn’t like Dali’s and Moo Hak’s I’ll pass. They are so adorable and dramatic and I’ll have what they’re having thank you very much.
I could go on and on but please just watch it. I love this show so much. So refreshing and lovely and fun!

Ummm . . .
Ummm . . . Idk . . . How to feel about this one. They were cute . . . But like there were so many ethical and editing red flags that it’s just . . . idk what I even just watched to be honest. I am ALL about making more shows with neurodivergent characters but their relationship is . . . Questionable. The ]resolution of the show was very meh. I don’t even think I can call it a resolution? Cause I don’t remember there being any conflict? I don’t know . . . I’m just so confused with it all. I feel like it would have been better in a movie setting maybe? Idk . . . I just wouldn’t recommend I guess.Cet avis était-il utile?
I’d risk it all for Seo In Guk
The premise was really intriguing but the execution was surprisingly quite lacking. They kept reusing the same conversations and plot points over and over again to fill 16 episodes. They’re together, they’re separated, they’re together again yadayadayada. But the family was really cute and there were a lot of funny moments and Seo In Guk looked sooooooooooooo good in this I might unalive myself because of it. No seriously, i could write paragraphs about how good he looks. The ever changing blue-grayish hair and his arrogant attitude and the mole under his eye alskdfjadslkjgh!!! He is so fine, he is so scrumdidilyumptious, man of my dreams truly. So I guess that’s another point against this show because yes the FL was dealing with a lot and the fact that he was Doom and kind of scary may have played a part, but the fact that she wasn’t all over him from the beginning is very unrealistic imo. That’s all. If you’re patient and don’t mind dragging plot lines and are attracted to immortal a-holes that are softies in love then I would still recommend it.Cet avis était-il utile?
So Absolutely Lovely
My only complaint is that I wanted a separate movie for each individual story, because they were all so lovely and I wanted more and more and more of these cute characters and their cute stories. Maybe even a 16 episode series for some of the stories! So heartwarming and hopeful! Definitely recommend if you’re wanting something sweet and uncomplicated. A bit messy sure, but that’s what happens when you wrap 5 dramas into one movie. But still definitely worth the 2 hours. I want to make my flat mates watch it with me now, so it’s worth another 2 hours more! The biggest bonus of this movie is the A-List cast with so many recognizable and beloved faces, Lee Dong Wook being my favorite of course. (His heart eyes and endeared smile nearly crushed my besotted and single heart.) Anyways, definitely give it a watch if you haven’t already. It’s New Years/Christmas themed but I think it’s excellent for any time of the year when you need a feel good movie to watch!Cet avis était-il utile?

Meh
TBH it’s slow and boring and weird. I mean I cried a little bit when they were going through their breakup in the last few episodes, which was unexpected. Honestly, I’m surprised I got past the first episode since he was so stalkery and pushy which is a huge red flag. So I wouldn’t recommend. Though her family was really cute and I enjoyed them. But the fact that every man was in love with her was blah and the grandma was annoying as heck and the office side characters were not that interesting and yes the monk without his shirt in the waterfall was nice but what was the reason? So yeah. . . not worth it for me. I skipped through most of it to be completely honest. It was just so boring and slow.Cet avis était-il utile?
RamKing and RamKing only.
6/10 but only for RamKing. Man I’m obsessed with them. The rest of the show was uninteresting to me and not worth the watch, but I adore the chemistry of King and Ram. Would recommend just looking up their scenes on YouTube tbh and skip the other bits of the show. You know the cringyness of the show in ‘lovely writer’, ‘my bad engineer’ or whatever? I’m not sure what came first but it’s exactly like that. So yeah basically skip the main couple and just come for the adorable Ram and King. Love them.Cet avis était-il utile?

Love love love
This show is my life. I love it more than words can express. It made me sob, it made me laugh so hard my stomach hurt. It was everything. And I will absolutely not settle for anything less than a Hong Du Shik for me. The main leads chemistry was fantastic. The side characters were all so love-able. Even the ones you were sure you would despise to the very end, they made you feel sympathetic towards. The ending episode’s pace and execution wasn’t exactly how I would have done it, but it still was happy, so no worries! The second to last episode was the most amazing episode ever though so it’s all good. Literally this show is all good, I love it!Cet avis était-il utile?
