There is an imposter among us...
I loved this show. First off, all the performances are solid. I came for Nagano Mei, but everyone really surprised me in parts of this. Suzuki Kyoka plays one of the best modern day femme-fatals I've seen in a while, she is a very controlling, and power hungry in this drama and it really works. The plot is weirdly similar to the horror film 'The Strays' where a group of characters seeks revenge on someone who stole their life, and they slowly infiltrate the character's life to teach them a lesson. 'Burn The House Down' improves on that plot-point WAY better tho. If I give a recommendation, it would be to stick with 'Burn the House Down' and avoid 'The Strays'. This is a story that I recommend going in completely blind, no trailer or anything. It would definitely improve your experience!!Cet avis était-il utile?

More Relevant Than You Think...
This is a creepy film. I think the type of horror films a lot of people are used to is fast and cheap scares that would make you uneasy for the moment. In some ways, a lot of horror films feel like roller-coaster rides. Thrilling at the time, but forgettable in the long run. Not this film, the pace is slow, but the scares creep up behind you and just stick with you. There is a strong hint about the dangers of technology, and how it can drain the life out of people. Also, how isolation can be a silent killer to anyone stuck in it. It is another well told apocalypse story that is interesting to watch play out. I do think the acting can be a hit or miss. I personally think it works for the situation the characters were in, but I can see how it can be dry for some people. I'd say check this film out if you enjoy a slow-burn.(I say this as a bit of a loner myself, and also being online a lot. Oh no, I'm next.xD)

There is hope even if you are at the end of your rope
If you are tired of watching 48 episode CDramas, this show is for you.The dark humor in this show is related to suicide so if anyone is sensitive to that sort of thing, beware.
Story:
The story is a dark comedy about Mi Chong who is an orphan and alone. One day, he decides to commit suicide and that is where he finds the girl he would soon fall in love with, Zhi Liao. Together, they find themselves on the run from gangsters when Zhi Liao's devious past catches up with her. The story is not extravagant, but it is short and sweet. This show, thankfully, also does not have a nihilistic ending, (which actually surprised me) and is the perfect show to marathon in a couple days. Each episode is about 25 minutes long, and there are only eight episodes.
Acting:
The chemistry between Leon Leong (Mi Chong) and Vivienne Tien (Zhi Liao) is honestly what made the show for me. They are very believable together, and the chaotic duo definitely adds the charm the dark series needed. Zhi Liao is the party girl with the heart of gold, and Mi Chong is the caring tsundere... What's not to love?
Overall: I would definitely recommend it if you need a breather after a long series. Definitely Not Today is well acted, and not cheesy at all. It is a simple love story that I think anyone would enjoy if they can handle the suicide humor.
