Dethrones Love O2O and Put Your Head On My Shoulder as my favorite RomCom!

I almost didn't watch this drama based on some negative comments and also the first 2 episodes had a rocky start, but once episode 3 hit and our leads finally interact via the game I was hooked. This drama is one of the funniest ones I've watched in recent memory. I was cackling nearly every single episode. I loved Lu Jing's roommates. Not a single brain cell between them and I love them for it. The gaming scenes were my favorite. Great CGI and funny interactions between our two leads. It made me excited to see what would happen when Lu Jing realizes who he's been gaming with. One thing I did not expect going into this was our main cp's chemistry. When I tell you that it was SCORCHING HOLY SHIT. Lin Yi has such a baby face but he amped up the sexual tension once he and Liang Chen finally meet in person. WHO TAUGHT THIS XIAO DIDI HOW TO KISS LIKE THAT??? He looked like he wanted to gobble Liang Chen during every scene. I was literally hiding behind my hands and giggling because I couldn't handle how sensual it was. Their first kiss had me in hysterics. Their first time in bed had me on the floor. I would say this drama is a must watch based on the two lead's chemistry alone. It's well worth it. I loved most of the supporting characters. The only things I didn't like were Jia Yun and the Ma Shan Shan/Taro relationship. Jia Yun creeped me out. He wasn't crossing any boundaries but the way he would try and reign in Liang Chen at times just put me off. I wish the writer's had axed this love triangle because he is way too old for her. His style of dress and speaking doesn't help either. Ma Shan Shan I also had issues with. I get she suffers depression due to her past relationship but she was so damn boring. I fast forwarded through most her scenes. And don't even get me started on her relationship with Taro. He really creeped me out in the beginning, too. He never respected her boundaries, borderline stalking her, wouldn't take no for an answer, etc. I wasn't rooting for them at all. They did grow on me a smidge at the end, but I wasn't invested in them at all. Over all, this drama is simple, romantic, and makes you smile. The plot isn't complicated, the leads shine with every scene they're in, and it's hilarious. No miscommunications or petty breakups for drama in the relationship, which I appreciated. The drama has a slow start and some may find the constant near misses of Liang Chen and Lu Jing frustrating, but if you can look past that and just buckle up for a fun ride, then it's well worth the time to watch.

I AM SO SO PLEASED THAT THIS DRAMA DIDN'T DISAPPOINT ME! After watching The Bride of Habaek and being completely disappointed, I was hesitantly looking forward to this one. The last drama I watched Suzy in, I dropped after 3 episodes. But I fell in love with LJS and was excited to see these two leads together. This drama drew me in on episode 1. Rarely ever in dramas, have I ever had a first episode grip me and keep me on the edge of my seat. The attention to detail in this drama is superb. Things that happen that don't make sense in the moment, come back full circle and leave you sitting there gasping, "SO THAT'S WHAT IT WAS!" Kudos to the writers for weaving such intricate plot points. And the finale brings everything back full circle and is so satisfying. The OST in this drama is 10/10. For me, it was on par with Goblin's OST. Which is pretty hard, to be honest. I downloaded every track and even the background music. Suzy did such an amazing job with two of her singles for this ost. The whole thing has a soothing, melancholy vibe to it. It makes me feel all cozy and relaxed.  The actors were wonderful in their roles. Even supporting ones. Suzy gets a lot of flak for her acting, but I really think she did a good job here. And of course, LJS did a great job as well. This drama sort of gave me W vibes since the tension is so ramped up every episode. And there are sooooo many plot twists. All brilliant. All executed at just the right moment to give it maximum impact. I don't know why there are so many negative reviews for this drama. It's a must watch of 2017 for sure. If you are hesitating about watching it, I urge you to just take a chance and see. A running theme through this drama is fate and chances. And how one choice could impact your entire life. So take a chance and just click the first episode and you may find this right up there on your top drama list.

OH man, I binged this drama in three days after deciding to watch it on a whim. I'm not a picky drama reviewer. If I like it, I'll give it a 10. And even though this drama had some flaws, I THOROUGHLY enjoyed the ride it took me on. The villain in this show is insane. He is an evil mastermind and yet comes off as so smooth and charismatic you can't help but like him. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time because of how many steps ahead he was of the police. Although, with the way the police in this show operates, it doesn't take much to outsmart them. I thought this drama would drag in the middle like romcoms usually do, but I didn't find myself bored while watching this at all. The pacing between tense moments of cat and mouse was balanced out well with the cuteness of the main couple. They were adorable! Shin Se Kyung and the main lead had such great chemistry. So many cute moments and thankfully there wasn't a ton of internal angst. But the real star of this drama has to be the Lieutenant Yeom Mi. I loved her! Never have I loved a second female lead so much. Not only was she smart (that switch with Cho Rim snatched my wig right off), she was beautiful and kind and just a badass. There were some flaws in the story here and there. The whole one eye turning green and being able to see scents was kind of out there but it was still an interesting story idea. The cops frustrated the heck out of me but we got a nice ending with everything tied up in a nice bow and I felt satisfied after the show was over. All in all, this drama was a pleasant way to spend 16 hours and I can definitely see myself rewatching this later.

I started this drama completely on a whim and no idea what I was in for. I went in expecting a cute rom-com that would give me some much needed relief after finishing the high intensity of Save Me. Well, I got that and a whole lot more. This drama was the best rom-com I have ever watched. It is also the funniest and has the cutest, most realistic couple I've ever seen in drama land. Each episode is a riot from start to finish. There are no boring or lagging parts that made it hard to finish each episode. No, each episode had me laughing my butt off with its over the top, ridiculous situations. The music and sound effects just add to the hilariousness of it. I binge watched this drama in three days. I could not stop watching. Each ending and opening scene enthralls you and draws you in until you're up at 5 am in the morning, eyes drooping with the need to sleep, but you just have to finish it. The intro song was perfect, as well. I always skip drama openings but this one I never did. The soundtrack was amazing and the leads were so perfect together. They've had some of the best kisses I've seen in a drama and the way they act with each other is just like a real couple. No character in this drama is just a cliche. Each is well rounded and you come to sympathize and understand them even if you've hated them throughout the drama. I've ended up liking certain characters by the end that I couldn't even stand to look at. This drama is absolutely superb and definitely goes on my top favorites list. A must watch drama that shouldn't be missed.

So I am a HUGE fan of the original novel, Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation. It's what got me into danmei. So when I heard that they were adapting it to a live action drama I was very VERY skeptical. How would the cast be? Would they butcher the story? How were they gonna treat Wangji and Wei Wuxian's relationship due to censorship? Would it have a bad ending? How could a web drama with not as big a budget as a regular Cdrama be any good? So I didn't jump to watch this when the first episodes aired. I waited to see if it was going to be any good. Even after the reviews kept giving it glowing praise, it still took me a hot minute to get around to finally watching it. Imagine my surprise when this drama swept me off my feet just like everyone else. People are giving this drama so much praise because it deserves it. You can tell that so much love and devotion was poured into this by the directors, writers, and actors. Everyone played their part to their fullest capacity. I even came away with a new found appreciation for some characters I hadn't given much thought to before. They nailed the emotions of the most heartbreaking scenes. Of the happiest ones.

And best of all? They nailed Wangxian without ever explicitly stating that these two are in fact in love and a couple. That was, hands down, my biggest surprise. With every glance, every touch, every FREAKING moment LWJ and WWX are on screen together, you can tell how much they care about each other. And this is a large part due to how Xiao Zhan and Wang Yibo portray them. I wasn't happy with Yibo being cast as Wangji when I first saw the trailer. 'He's too babyfaced. How is he going to portray such a complicated character like Lan Zhan?' Well, he more than pulled it off. Yibo must be a natural born actor because he spoke more with his eyes than most actors say with a novel length script of words. LWJ is a character who feels much but says little. Wangji doesn't even have that many words to say in all 50 episodes. But you know what? He doesn't need them. Yibo was able to bring out the core of this character with his eyes and body language alone. I am appalled. I cried so hard because he was able to convey just how much LWJ cares about his Wei Ying. And Xiao Zhan? He brought WWX to life just as much. Now that it's over, I can't imagine any other actors playing these characters. I love how much attention went into showing yet never telling how much these two love each other by the directors. They went above and beyond skirting around censorship. I hate we live in a world where their relationship has to be censored, but their love still shines through all the same. In my opinion, their love shines even brighter because the small moments matter so much. There is no outright confession (unless you count 'Wangxian' being played in the background 50,000 times lol) yet the way they look at each other and treat each other speaks volumes. I still hate that this had to be censored and I hope fans of the drama who loved their 'bromance' and don't know about the original novel won't erase the canon love the two have for each other when they find out they are happily married.

Romance aside, the plot was so riveting that a 50 episode drama never stalled or got boring. I usually drop Cdramas half way through due to how lengthy and padded out they are. The Untamed doesn't suffer from this problem. In fact, I could rewatch it all right now even though I just finished it. That's how good it is. The music? Superb. I listen to the soundtrack regularly. The only complaints I have are small issues. The fight scenes are lacking and sometimes the CGI feels cheap. But I know this is due to their budget not being as big as other dramas. It never detracted from the enjoyment at all. Another criticism I have is with the tencent subs. I don't know if it was paid for it to be translated into English or it was fan translations. If it's the former, I do take issue with how wacky the word choices can be at times. 'Childe' instead of 'master', the infamous 'spiritual energy is stored in the pubes' line, etc. That did bother me and took some getting used to. But everything else is wonderful. The sets are gorgeous. They really brought the world of Mo Dao Zu Shi to life in the best of ways. Every sect was gorgeous, especially Cloud Recesses and Yunmeng Jiang. And also hats off to the actor of JGY. He brought out every layer of his multifaceted character.

In conclusion, everyone brought their A game here. This drama is a masterpiece and it is hands down my favorite drama of all time. I wish I had watched it when it aired. Even better, I wish I could erase my memory so I can experience it all over again for the first time. Thank you Untamed cast. You deserve every award and accolades that come your way.

I watched this purely for Chae Soo Bin and was hoping I'd like the drama more than her last one, Strongest Deliveryman. And I did! This drama is so cute and fluffy that you can easily ignore the wacky ass plot. A girl who pretends to be a robot for a chaebol with an allergy against humans? Ridiculous. But the actors are what truly make this drama shine, along with the two main lead's amazing chemistry. I loved every single person in this. The side characters are all so lovable, especially team Santa Maria. Also CSB is so dang cute as an android. I need a pocket-sized version of Aji 3. This drama kept me interested since the beginning and will definitely put you through a gauntlet of emotions. The ending was very satisfying and wrapped everything up nicely. This is the perfect drama to binge over the weekend if you want something new with a breezy feel.

I was skeptical of this drama at first because I thought it was going to be unnecessarily complicated and boring. Instead I got a one of a kind, unique drama that instantly shot up to my favorite drama of all time. It even beat out the recently finished Goblin--which I absolutely loved. Everything about this drama was perfection. The acting, the leads, the plot everything. The plot--while having a lot of twists and turns--never got overly complicated where I could no longer understand it. The writers did an excellent job explaining everything. It never dragged. Which I worried about after episode 7 but something was always happening to keep viewers on their toes. This was the most suspenseful and thrilling kdrama plot I've ever seen. The romance never slowed down the pacing, either. There was just the right amount, which I was so thankful for. The romance was written well too. No miscommunication between the leads, no hidden truths, no repetitive angst between them, and the leading man was never rude or downright mean to the lead girl like so many other dramas. Lee Jung Suk has quickly become an all time favorite actor of mine. This was my first drama of his and I want to now go and watch his other dramas. He was so perfect as Kang Cheol. I loved him to pieces. Oh Yeon Joo was a great female lead who actually thinks and has common sense. The ending was really fitting and thankfully a happy one--if a little bittersweet. I loved the ost as well. Hardly ever do I fall in love with an entire ost from a drama, but this one I did. Especially the main ending song. Oh my God, I love that song to death. I would recommend this drama to anyone. It literally has everything and you will definitely not be bored. There's no middle sag, just non stop on the edge of your seat plot twists.
