Romance mixed with drama in an apocalyptic scenario
I really liked this series and I'd recommend it to BL fans who enjoy some drama mixed in with their romance.I admit, I avoided watching it . I had read that others could not forgive one of the main characters, Ritsu, for his actions, and that made me reluctant to watch it at first, but eventually I did. I must agree - I was furious with him initially - but in the long run, though, these complications probably make the story and the relationship more interesting.
The acting is excellent and the story compelling. Ultimately, the series shows us a unique road trip set against a backdrop of imminent catastrophe and the end of humanity. What adds charm and interest to the story is the inclusion of various side characters along the way.

Melancholy and cheerfulness
I enjoyed watching this series. I had few expectations at the outset and so was pleasantly surprised. There are two things, in my opinion, that make the series work - the game concept, which adds an original dimension to the pursuit of the love interest, and the contrast between the two main characters, one cheerful and the other morose. I enjoyed watching how this dynamic shifted as the story progressed. The jealous side character also provided an interesting element.
Some things didn't work for me - the part-time work on the side, who was modelling and for whom, was not that convincing. And while I was okay with how the story developed, like other viewers I found the last two episodes too rushed and underdeveloped.

My Personal Weatherman

A handsome man doesn't mean you'll get just get a serving of cute and mushy feelings...
Firstly, the lead actor (playing the TV weatherman) is strikingly good-looking - it's not difficult to understand why his housemate has been compelled to draw him from when he first saw him in the cafeteria. Segasaki has a unique kind of beauty that draws not only Yoh, but also his friend Manju and the viewer too. This is one strength of the drama - what is such a man like in person? How does the outward image of a popular persona translate into his real personality when at home?Secondly, to address the conflicting opinions around this drama and its storyline: I liked the couple and I do believe it takes all sorts to make the world go round. I guess my main frustration was simply this: how about a bit more direct communication?

Know what kind of BLs you like
I can only say this series confirms for me that I am indeed a part of the Japanese BL target market - I am one of those audience members who really enjoys the slow-pace and the sensitive unfolding of a tender romance. This is one such drama, heartfelt and rewarding, with two well-cast leads, far from the clamour of the need for speed and thrills and urgency. From my experience to date, the Japanese writers, directors and actors, do this kind of series very well.
I don't know the actors from previous shows, but it's interesting to note that, like their characters, they differ quite significantly in terms of their Main Role experience.
