A unique and fantastic journey
This show was simply amazing. Everything from the story, to the acting, to the action and the music were top notch. One of my favorite things about The Untamed was the unique choice of martial arts showcased, having the main characters not strictly using swords.
Spoilers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If I had to nitpick the only complaints I have out of the entire 50-episode show were the abrupt deaths of Yanli and Weng Qing (really heart breaking and not even on screen which I guess I am thankful for); as well as the lack of a satisfactory ending for the real main villain of the show.

Talk about character assassination
I am sure this is a fine, albeit relatively low budget wuxia drama for those that have zero knowledge of the source material. But I struggle to see this getting high ratings from anyone that has every read the novels or even watched the Donghua.Spoiler!!!!!!!!!!
I just had to rant somewhere, sorry this is where it had to be.
RIP Gu Xun Er, the most loyal, supportive, and badass woman in all of the Battle Through the Heavens novel and Donghua.
The character assassination done to her at the end of this series was unforgivable. That whole final scene of her taking the ring and leaving Xiao Yan for dead would never, EVERRRRRRRRRR happen with the source Gu Xun Er. She literally tells him that she was supposed to steal the Ancient God Jade but couldn't, and warned him to never let anyone know he had it. And all throughout the source material she goes against the ancestors/elders in her belief and loyalty to Xiao Yan. And to just leave him dying there, just assuming he would die? She would do everything in her power to save him, no matter what.
Maybe it is unfair to compare this adaptation to the source material, or even the Donghua, but it is really hard not to. I usually can ignore changes from source material in an adaptation, I completely understand how unrealistic it is to expect things to be completely accurate. But to change a main character to this extent is inexcusable, no matter the reason.
Rant over.

Defintiely glad i chose to watch it
This is a show i chose to pass over while surfing Netflix looking for a show to watch multiple times since it was released on the streaming service. Mainly due to not loving the male lead in some things i have seen him in in the past. I finally gave it a shot this weekend and was so happy i did. I binged the heck out of the show Saturday and Sunday, i was hooked. The setting was great, i thought the directing and acting was both really well done, and i actually enjoyed the leads and their chemistry and interactions a lot. I loved the way their relationship evolves throughout the show. The show gave me a lot of the same vibes that Love like the Galaxy did.
As a whole i just thought it was a really well done.
Spoiler:
My only complaint about the show is the last maybe 10-15 minutes of the last episode. I am sure this was all book accurate but i would have prefered it to end before all that nonsense. I know there was a 5-minute "epilogue" filmed that gets rid of the open ending, so i will just accept that lol.

Just as good as the Pirates of the Caribbean movies.
For anyone looking for another reason to love Kang Ha-Neul or Han Hyo-Joo (although lets admit, you really don't need another reason for either of them) this movie will be a treat. The cast were hilarious, the CGI was pretty good, the action scenes were great, the music was great, and just the overall experience was a treat.I would ranked this movie maybe not on par with the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie but definitely up there with the second one, and better by far than any after the second.
