Enjoyable & Fun
"Love has no age" is always my motto, and I'm a big fan of Noona romance dramas. The age difference doesn’t bother me, in fact, I find it quite appealing. However, I usually avoid anything tagged with an older man/younger woman dynamic. Yet, I gave "Dating in the Kitchen" a try, and I must say I enjoyed it a lot.It was an easy watch. Enjoyable and fun. Didn't feel bored at all. Though I fast-forward most of the second couple's story (I generally don't care for secondary stories), otherwise, the rest of the drama was quite intriguing. The chemistry between the two main leads was mind-blowing. And, the food scenes gave us a premium gourmet feel. The cinematography of the meal preparation was truly superb. We heard the sound of frying, the water boiling, and more, as if the food became alive. It's a must-watch for any foodie out there.
For the two main leads, they had great chemistry, they were funny and well-matched. The female lead is playful and a bit quirky, while the male lead is more reserved and moody. They complement each other quite well. Though the romance between the two leads didn't attract me at first, in the end, it really touched me, clearly, they stirred something in me. It's a pleasure to see the two lovebirds looking for each other.
The romance and culinary parts were cute, however, I will criticize that they didn't continue the food journey much during the second half, which was a disappointment. Also, the female lead's grandfather was completely out of touch in the last few episodes. And, last but not least, they initiate the stepbrother's revenge story a lot late in the story, and it's a miss for me. They should have introduced this earlier and cut down the second couple's drama, which added nothing significant to the main story.
Overall, it's a pleasant drama to watch. From the start to the end, it was fast-paced, and not draggy at all.
