Well, what do you do when you've had a crush for a long time? You'll work hard to be someone that can be with them.
Story-wise it was okay. The first part of the drama when they are high school students is your typical high school love drama. They grow up together through many conflicts throughout the university. However, what I didn't get were Gu Xiao Man's wuxia dream sequences, they weren't necessary. If they had enough time to put those in then why didn't they work more on the plot? As always Chinese dramas love to put in fillers so you'll just have to deal with watching many study scenes and side stories. But overall this drama teaches you that even if you don't think you can do it, with hard work you can. {8.0}
The cast of this show is all relatively new people in the acting industry so I wasn't really expecting much but they did a decent portrayal of the characters. Let's just note that last episode with Lu Zhao Hua (Gu Xiao Man), her acting really caught me off guard with her emotions. If only she was able to show more of that within the series rather than the last episode it would have been better. {8.5}
Music well it's a youth drama so it's pretty light and fluffy. Nothing too special, the music fits the mood of the scene and that's about it. {7.5}
Would I watch it again? Well, I'll be honest here I almost dropped this drama a bit over midway through because I got sick of how long it was dragging on. So unlikely I'll watch it again but you never know I might just watch some cute scenes. {6.5}
A little side note: Why did they change their hairstyles all of a sudden? I know it's supposed to show maturation but they could have chosen other hairstyles. For example, Liu Yu Han (Zuo An) looked cute with his high school hairstyle but then they cut it off and it didn't suit him (no offence please don't come at me fangirls).
