Top K-Dramas

This drama is so significant and more realistic than any other k-drama that I watch. It deals with so many themes that tie with the hardships in life. However, it also deals with finding a community and forming friendships. I love the platonic relationship between the main leads, and the side characters were also excellent. The OST and the dark atmosphere are fantastic. I don't think there is another k-drama that will top this one because it was so emotional and felt more human.

A Million Roses by Woorim Ko 

A heartbreaking and beautiful historical drama. All the main characters were complex and showed excellent development throughout the show. The side characters also stole the show, and they also have depth. The chemistry between all the characters was excellent, especially the bromance. I love how the love story is original without the use of skinship and cheesy lines. This drama has the best female characters I had ever seen in a Korean drama, and they were both complex characters. There is also excellent foreshadowing and symbolism toward the story and characters. The dialogue is pure poetry and feels like you are reading from a classic literature novel. The cinematography, the costumes, and the worldbuilding are gorgeous. The OST is also beautiful and captivating. This drama taught me many things about Korean history, including slavery, class differences, and their struggles under Japanese rule.

Watching all twenty episodes of this drama feels so comforting. All the characters in the drama are amazing because you feel so connected to them. I enjoy the 80s setting and the references to the time. It deals with many relationships such as siblings, kids' relationships with their parents, friendships with the leading kids, and romance. This drama is special to my heart.

Youth by Kim Feel 

Hyehwadong by Park Boram

This drama is just everything to me. I love how it is mixed with romance, friendships, drama, comedy, and a little bit of action.  I enjoy the forbidden romance between Yoon Se Ri and Ri Jung Hyuk. However, I love the side characters with the ducklings and the ajummas in the village. The visuals and the cinematography is gorgeous with the sights in North Korea and Switzerland.

But it's Destiny by 10cm 

A light-hearted and fluffy romance with a side of a slice of life. The chemistry between Kim Seon-ho and Shin Min-ah is fantastic, but the side characters steal the show. All the side characters have exciting side plots and show different types of relationships, such as a single dad with a teenage daughter, a couple going through a divorce that involves a love triangle, and a nosy woman dealing with the grief of a loved one. As someone from a small town, the setting did everything accurately with the gossiping, everybody owing small businesses, and everyone feeling like a family. It also has impressive cinematography, OST, and visuals within the beach town. I feel like the quantity of the drama drops down halfway, and it wasn't enjoyable as the first few episodes. Overall, this is the perfect drama if you need a light romance-comedy.

Romantic Sunday by the garden 

A realistic coming-to-age story about first love, friendship, family, sports, and youth: I enjoy seeing the growth of the cheerful and courageous Hee-Do on how she overcame as a teenager to a grown woman through her love of fencing, her friendships, and her love for Yi Jin. I also love the chemistry between all the five friends and how they overcome development throughout the show. I also love the blessing female friendship of Hee-Do and Yu Rim in how they start as rivals to become best friends who support each other. I thought the ending was very realistic. However, it was a little bit rushed in some parts. I also enjoy the time references to the 90s and 2000s to the periods. On top of that, I love the bright colors in the cinematography and the OST. A drama that teaches life lessons to show not everything will work out perfectly and never give up on the thing you love.

Starlight by Taeil 

A romantic suspense thriller about the struggles of the anti-hero who is overcoming his trauma and dealing with the love of his family. This thriller had me on the edge of my seat about what would happen next and kept me glued to my screen the whole time. I love the chemistry between Ji Won and Hee Sung and the heartwarming moments between Ji Won and his adorable daughter, Eun Ha. Hee Sung was the best badass female lead in a K-drama and I really adore seeing the strong-willing in her character. I also love seeing the flashbacks of how Ji Won and Hee Sung fell in love. On top of that, love the OST and cinematography. My only criticism is the plot twist doesn't make sense at the end. Overall, an amazing romantic suspense thriller.

Feel You by Shin Yong Jae 

A hilarious black comedy and a heartwarming show about the blossoming bromances of prisoners: I really enjoy seeing the different characters interact from their different personalities and comedic moments together. I also love the insight of each prisoner's backstory on how they got into their prison and the struggles they have to face. If even though the show has some dark moments here and there, it never lasts long and doesn't overturn the tone of the show. On top of that, I love the songs in the OST. There was also romance, but it was well-done and didn't overshadow the main plot. My only criticism of this drama is that I feel some characters weren't given a proper ending, and we never see what happens to them. Overall, my favorite bromance drama.

Like a Dream by Park Boram 

A hilarious romance historical drama. The story is very unique with body swap and time travel at once with a side of an enemies-to-lovers romance-comedy. The acting of Shin Hye Sun is top-notch, and it is incredible how she pulls off the masculine and feminine traits between So Yong and Bong Hwan. The humor is excellent and will have you dying laughing on almost every episode. On top of that, I enjoy the side characters, especially the Court Lady Choi, the queen's maid, Hong Yeon, and Royal Chef, Man-bok, the ost, the food, and the cinematography. The ending of the drama could have been developed better, but overall, a great drama.
