My 8 favorite BL's of 2022
Was originally gonna do my 5 faves, but I did 8. I'll probably edit this, when I'm not dying of not sleeping.

1. The Eclipse
Thai Drama - 2022, 12 episodes
NEVER LISTEN TO THE REVIEWS ON MYDRAMALIST!
I put this show off until christmas, I wish I watched it when it came out! Such a great drama, the story was funny at times, but overall! This show was amazing.
I, like many others, are getting tired of the school dramas, but this one was different enough to where it didn't feel like the good old cliche.
Akk and Ayan, give me more! I need First and Khao to act together in all the dramas, they were great together! And their friendship in real life gives me life.
SPOILER! My only little nitpicking, I wish that the curse was actually real, would have introduced a supernatural element in a BL show for.. maybe.. the first time.
Ayan was my favorite character, such a well written character, and Khaotung really brought him to life.

2. KinnPorsche
Thai Drama - 2022, 14 episodes
My only 10/10 this year.
I am gonna start this off with saying that the drama wasn't perfect, by a long shot, but the actors really saved this one.
The story was refreshing, finally not a school drama! Except that one time that Porsche went to class? Tell me, did he quit? Did he ever go to school? Was it a undercover heist to check on his friend, and do the ad-space? Who knows, I've not read the books.
Mafia world, with guns and shit, in a BL? Wow! Now there are 3 good, non-school, related dramas to watch.
I am probably, it seems that way online, the only person who couldn't stand VegasPete. I just feel like they're not good for eachother, stockholm syndrome hit Pete hard, and you can't change my mind. Vegas needs help, the abuse he went through as a child, and grownup has fucked him up bad, and the fact that they just... glossed over it at the end, doesn't sit right with me, at all.
Kinn and Porsche.. where to I start... non-con? No, I'm not getting into that again, I feel like I've ranted far too many times about it to my friends. At the end of the day, Kinn apoligised to Porsche, and it was Porsche's choice to accept it.
Kim and Porchay.. Jeff Satur, anyone? Yes? Yeeees? YESS! I love him, I want him in all dramas, at all times, singing with his guitat and pretty, wavy, long, lucious hair. Am I obsessed? Probably. I'm pretty ace irl, but a Jeff Satur, with a guitar and pretty hair really speaks to me.
So for conclusion, listen to Jeff Satur, my Tops star. (If you get that joke, you're good)

3. To My Star 2
Korean Drama - 2022, 10 episodes
I am obsessed with Son Woohyun, I have no idea why I like him so much, he just does something to me emotionally.
Season 2 is always scary in the BL world, it's either a complete win, or a total miss (*cough*Tharntype*cough*Togetherwithme*cough*).
But this season 2 was good, I was scared at first because I couldn't understand the reason for them being apart, but in the end they wrapped in up nicely, with a little bow on top.
And Korean shows, again, is superior.

4. Semantic Error
Korean Drama - 2022, 8 episodes
I used far too long to finish this, my own fault only, but I won't bore anyone with my mishaps, it's far too embarrasing *blushy face emoji*.
Sooooo, semantic error, I loved it, really. Korea has this way of making good dramas, and I'm so glad they're finally moving onto the BL scene for good.
Story, production and acting was on point, not really anything to complain about? It was a funny drama, when Jae Young came walking in with those red clothing I nearly coughed up a lung.

5. Kabe Sa Doujin Sakka no Neko Yashiki-kun wa Shouninyokkyou wo Kojiraseteiru
Japanese Drama - 2022, 8 episodes
I haven't laughed this hard in ages. Japan always makes the funniest shows and they are crushing it in the comedy departmant.
I loved the main character, he was so cute with his floppy, curly hair, yes, it's my niche.
I started my BL journey just about 13 years ago now, Japan was literally the only asian country that had any BL, mostly it was the Takumi-Kun series. I feel like Japan has come a long way with it's BLs, and they are moving in the right direction.
The only complaint I have, and it's a small one, kiss scene. It's not like it's needed, but I always feel like a good kiss scene, not makeout scene, is good.

6. The Circumstances of Pungdeok Villa Room 304
Korean Drama - 2022, 8 episodes
I actually gave this drama a 9.5. I fucking loved it!
Storyline is kinda cliche, but they made it funny and realistic! And not to mention, it's the actors from kissable lips, YES! Just yes, I love them together!
I watched it on a whim on viki, but was pleasantly surprised with both the acting, the writing and the overall production. I sincerly hope this show will get a second season, with the right plot, it could be amazing!

7. Love Mechanics
Thai Drama - 2022, 10 episodes
Shockingly I really liked this one, I put it off until the end of the year because I thought it wasn't for me.
There is non-con in this show, but I'd like to point out that in the first episode they were both drunk, but I do see that Vee was less drunk than Mark.
Some of the scenes in this show was for too toxic though, and the miscommunication was kind of irritating at times. The drama between Vee and Ploy was so strange, because he was sad that she was cheating on him? But he was cheating on her too! First of all, he literally slept with Mark in episode one, and then he emotionally cheats on Plot with Mark for the rest of their relationship, so he wasn't any better than her.
The only good character that didn't do anything wrong was Nuea, and at times I was just yelling at the screen for Mark to date Nuea instead. I haven't watched the original show, but I know Nuea has a boyfriend in that, but still! Come on Mark, you could have had it so good.
My favorite character was Mark, such a complex character. My only complaint of any significance is that they glossed over him trying to take his own life? Like was it a joke from his friends? Did he really try to do that? Has he gotten help? My child, are you good?
Please writers, don't just gloss over the mental health problems, they're important, and don't go away by them selves.

8. Love Storm
Thai Drama - 2022, 13 episodes
I did like this drama to a certain degree, I just can't stand mame's writing, it's always so toxic. I feel like all of mame's shows have the same kind of timeline, so it's so predictable. And the non-con is just not for me, it makes me furious. I'm also tired of the seme/uke thing that just has to be in every thai drama, and the heteronormal view they have on a fucking gay relationship, COME ON WRITERS! GET! YOUR! FUCKING! HEAD! OUT! OF! YOUR! ASS!
Please make these shows more realistic for a gay relationship.
What won this show over for me was literally only the second couple, more importantly my baby Sky, such a cutiepie.
