Ranking of 2022 dramas I've watched- updating
-
1. Alchemy of Souls : Partie 2
Korean Drama - 2022, 10 episodes
The final episode and this whole second season were a rollercoaster of emotions for me. and so the first text I've sent when I completed the drama to my friend who also watches the drama and knows what a toll it took on me was "I'm fine". I thought I won't be cause I built in my head a total other plot to this drama. Plot that doesn't give a damn care about what happened in the first season nor their previous relationship.
Even though I practically grew on Jung So Min (following her since Playful Kiss days), her pairing with Lee Jae Wook was not my cup of tea. and so, I can't say I liked the first season. but the change of the actress, the dynamics and the sizzling chemistry made me lose myself in the past five weeks. Something that didn't happen I think since Mask days.
Hearing Ailee and Lia's OSTs just made me tear up, no matter where I was listening to it- driving, cleaning the house, showering. I just couldn't let this drama go and I was the most upset when we got back to previous story (which was ought to happen). but now it won't be a lie to say that I'm fine, I'm content and I finally can be at peace again:)
Best drama of 2022 -
2. Twenty Five Twenty One
Korean Drama - 2022, 16 episodes
What a drama, what a journey. I'm in tears, not sure if they're happy tears or sad tears.
We've been through so much with our main leads and I feel the ending is exactly like their relationship has always been.
I'm satisfied.*Favorite female lead: Wow Kim Tae Ri is really like a chameleon. I saw her for the first time in the provocative movie The Handmaiden and even now that I'm writing this lines, it's hard for me to believe it's the same actress who played the schoolgirl who likes fencing and quarrels and falls in love with Nam Joo Hyuk. I know many complained about her acting skills while the drama was airing, but I personally think that her character was this little spoiled girl who had to use the sullen baby voice cause she never wanted to lose a thing. NJH the best he could be in this drama and its' thanks to KTR's guidance as the sunbae and noona she is.

3. Crazy Love
Korean Drama - 2022, 16 episodes
I loved it!!
So funny and romantic *-*
Kim Jae Wook made more facial expressions than he did his whole career I think lol Krystal was great too
Im Won Hee was hilarious as always, I knew he will turn out to be good kekeke
I can say that even though they kind of hinted us who's the bad guy as we were approaching the end, I didn't think it will be the way it was. Also, to the commenters on the drama page that thought Segi went through gender change- I guess you're over estimating SK's liberal views ;) -
4. My Liberation Notes
Korean Drama - 2022, 16 episodes
*My Liberation Notes is definitely the best out of the currently airing dramas. On the paper it has nothing that will make you sucked into the story, but something about it just works. The actors, the depressing (but real) dialogues- total and unexpected gem.
A drama like no other. Depressing but you somehow come for more. I think the high rating is because of the quality of it- the script, the acting, the directing- all of it together, summed up to this perfect picture.
Every single actor flourished in this drama, it's like their roles were written specifically for them. Lee Min Ki totally redeemed himself after his two last flops, and Kim Ji Won, not surprisingly picked on another 10/10 drama (and let's all forget about Lovestruck in the City. Female actors just need to stay away from JCW's productions).
What a bittersweet ending.*Best performance of the year: Every cast member of My Liberation Notes. Especially Lee Min Ki.
Watching this drama I felt like their roles were written solely for them. On the one hand I've seen them in previous productions and I bear that in my mind. but on the other, they were all ONE with their character. I think it was their best acting yet (and I have both Min Ki and Ji Won drama's that are ranked 10/10. yet they weren't there half as good as they were here). It was such a depressing drama but their acting skills carried it to get the perfect score it deserves. -
5. Anna
Korean Drama - 2022, 6 episodes
Can’t believe I’m seeing the same Suzy from Dream High! She was so good and she also has great taste in picking interesting productions. Not sure why many of the actors including her husband and friend aren’t listed as main leads since their part wasn’t minor at all.
Even though it was short, it had everything a 10/10 drama needs.*Least favorite character of the year: ML. That guy was absolutely a jerk. He was treating Anna (Suzy) like crap. Used her as a trophy wife and never cared even for a single bit about her hardships, even when it was reveled that he practically knew about them all along. Even though she thought he will change her world upside down for the best, he only made her miserable, dragged her down and let her become the worst version of herself possible.
-
6. Cheer Up
Korean Drama - 2022, 16 episodes
I loved this drama! ML was so different from his character in My Roomate is a Gumiho that I was pleasantly surprised. Happy for the FL for getting her first main role but the moment you start getting those roles, you prob won't get any longer difficult bad guy roles like she did in Penthouse where her role IMO was much more challenging. Hope Gyuri will get a lead role next. She totally deserves it (been following her since the reality where she was scouted to be on Fromis 9)
I think that because I'm a student myself (tho without having cheer-leading squads obv), I really felt a lot of identification and the last few minutes of the after graduation were like a reality check. That's why people say the best time in your life is when you're a student cause after that the troubles of life are coming to haunt you.
ָָָָָָָָָָָָ*Wished they had a bit more dancing numbers though. -
7. Pachinko
Korean Drama - 2022, 8 episodes
Such a well made drama. Plot, feelings, cinematography- all was in it.
Promised to myself I'll read the novel but still didn't find the time for it. Hope it will happen soon. -
8. Kiss Six Sense
Korean Drama - 2022, 12 episodes
I loved this drama. Yes, from the very beginning it was extremely predicted who the bad guy is and I'm not so fond of 'knowing from childhood' concept but it was a great journey. Unlike others, I don't feel there was a some big downfall in the later half of the drama.
Not sure why Kim Ji Suk had to take this role, cause it was so minor that I don't even understand why he appears on the poster but main leads chemistry was on fire. I understood from the comments that the webtoon depicted a younger couple but I think they were perfectly casted. -
9. A Business Proposal
Korean Drama - 2022, 12 episodes
I liked this drama from the very beginning but somewhere around the middle I got even more captivated in the story. I've started watching each ep twice and even began reading for the first time in my life a webtoon (that the drama is based on).
I can't point what was it, but my excitement sank in the last two eps. Those eps were just plain BORING. Except from a few laughs that Se Jung & Lee Deok Hwa scenes got from me, I just wished it will be over already.
I have to point too that their intimate scene was awfully made and played- both looked so awkward with the hand gestures, total let down after how good was the scene of the second couple.
I was sure I'll give this drama a 10, and it will be my favorite drama of the year, but I feel right now, a day after completing it, that it just doesn't deserve this perfect of a grade. -
10. Love According to Law
Korean Drama - 2022, 16 episodes
So I've started this drama just few weeks before it ended and I instantly fell in love with it. Something I was surprised that happened. I've read at the time comments on the drama's page that say that it becomes boring in the second half, and I couldn't agree more when I got there. If I had to rank this drama by the last two eps, it would've gotten a much much lower grade.
But I choose to remember the good times. I personally think that Lee Seung Gi was never smitten with a FL like he was with Lee Se Young and his smile after each time she says something was adorable to watch.
If I compare it to another drama that had a different story to deal with every few eps (Tomorrow), I think they did here a much better job.
I'm a bit sad tho for actors who had no depth to their characters like Kim Won Hae or the mom from Parasite (who played with Se Young in The Red Sleeve and had a much more significant role there).
p.s Loved hearing Yuju's voice each ep ;) -
11. Hatsukoi
Japanese Drama - 2022, 9 episodes
I was sure the drama had 8 eps because Netflix took itself more time than usual to display the "next ep" button and I was already picturing in my head the review of this drama that was going to be something like "You know I love melodramas but I didn't sign up for this sh*t to end up this way.." So thank god for ep 9 ;)
You know, the drama isn't really that great. I don't think there's a lot of match between the young and adult actors, especially the FL. While the young one looks so confident the older one is so gentle and cautious. (funny story: I was constantly thinking to myself who she reminds me of and in ep 7 it finally hit me she looks very much like my dad's cousin wife).
BUT the feelings. oh the feelings. If not for them, I would've given it a 7/10. I cried so much through this drama. Like I've mention, I like to cry during my dramas but I have a limit and it was crossed on ep 8. Nevertheless I really recommend you to go and watch this drama, but prepare your tissues. cause if the scenes won't make you shed a tear, I bet the OST will :) -
12. Military Prosecutor Doberman
Korean Drama - 2022, 16 episodes
I totally didn't expect it but I enjoyed the drama from the very beginning.
Great progress of story, how they took off each layer from the story and the characters.
Wished though for a bit more romance, at least at the end lol*Favorite male lead. Ahn Bo Hyun definitely delivered more than shower screens but TBH he's chosen in this category because he looks smokin' hot in uniform ;) I've seen him before in many projects but he never caught my eye like in here (and you would image uniform won't be a turn-on for me since I live in a military country lol but never say never, you know). The way Taylor Swift sings would be the perfect description for his role "he's so tall, and handsome as hell, he's so bad but he does it so well.."
He also did this year Yumi's Cells and acted great there too. Also, thanks to MPD he cut his hair so no more Woong with horrendous haircut. YAY. -
13. Again My Life
Korean Drama - 2022, 16 episodes
*It was boring to me at first, but I had a feeling it will be like Train (not story wise, even though both talk about time travel), and eventually get better and grow on me so I continued on watching. Corruption ain't nothing new in Kdramas but still you're so involved with the story and just want the bad guys to pay already for all their wrongdoings. Also, Lee Jun Ki seems like he never gets old lol
Satisfying ending? Questionable. Predictable, but not enough.
This drama definitely picked it’s pace in the second half (otherwise my rating would’ve been much lower). The corruption concept ain’t new but it was enough interesting. and so was the lawyer concept for Lee Jun Ki as my friend said and that’s why she didn’t pick up this drama. I on the other hand haven’t seen his previous drama so I didn’t contempt and just watched AML and as it progressed wasn’t disappointed. Except SML. I get it, he’s a great actor but letting a pedophile gain more and more main roles is unacceptable! -
14. Remarriage and Desires
Korean Drama - 2022, 8 episodes
I'm happy Kim Hee Sun was able to redeem herself after the downfall with Tomorrow earlier this year and got back to us with an interesting production like she usually chooses. This was a drama that was totally lead by the actresses involved since the male actors aren't really famous (maybe though they will start getting job offers after this one. *fingers crossed* for them).
SFL got back to her b*chy type of role. I too was surprised when she had a good role in Snowdrop, since the wicked ones suit her clearly much more. I truly hated her and she looks a lot like other famous actress for villain roles Yoo In Young. Sometimes I'm even getting confused between the two.
Overall, I really recommend this drama- it was great. something you can't say about many other Kdrama Netflix productions. -
15. Yumi's Cell 2
Korean Drama - 2022, 14 episodes
Sweet and unpredictable drama.
I feel like it's weird to give it a different rating from the previous one since I've just completed it and for me it's all one big season.
The cells are adorable and it's super interesting that we were shown so many different peoples' cells. Great CG and effects!
*Lee Yubi has really fallen out of favor to get such a small role after she was previously getting FL roles, though I'm happy they gave her Ji Hoon (I was sure he already started his military service so it was a pleasant surprise seeing him). -
16. Under the Queen's Umbrella
Korean Drama - 2022, 16 episodes
Channi boy? Is that really you? Who knew you could act like this? thumbs up!
A bit upset Kim Hae Sook played the villain but she was so phenomenal and seeing her with another acting powerhouse Kim Hye Soo was so much more than we asked for.
I know that the point of this drama was to show what she has to offer as a queen but TBH it's bit unreal she could do all of it without a powerful family (she might have her family's back. but it was never mentioned).
I teared a bit at the end where we've seen how the roles switched, that now she can be more peaceful cause at least one of her sons is there to protect her.
p.s Did Bae in Hyuk took this role in the middle of his other main castings? if not for the two female leads, I wouldn't have understood his decision.
p.s2: Beautiful wardrobe for all women actresses! -
17. Wol Soo Geum Hwa Mok To
Korean Drama - 2022, 16 episodes
yes, since ep 10 it became quite boring. but the final ep reminded me how adorable they are and the smiles that this drama brings to my face. Go Kyung Pyo is as cute as Park Min Young says and TBH I didn't really have high expectations from him cause this role wasn't his usual picks, but he was great.
I don't like that dramas want that one big happy family ending that's so inaccurate in real life. There's no way someone would've been forgiven for such sin as that woman committed, and also so fast.
I hate that Kim Jae Young's role in this drama was so insignificant. He gave such a stellar performance in Reflection of You last year that I'm so upset they used him here only for his looks. He has so much more to give :(
p.s I don't think Gwang Nam sings so good.. maybe a singing career isn't such a great idea after all and he should stick to Taekwondo lol -
18. Cleaning Up
Korean Drama - 2022, 16 episodes
Started it obv for Somin-im but was pleasantly surprised to see already in the first second Yeom Jung Ah. This drama has such an interesting story that evolves around women and you’re always afraid that something will end up bad for them.
The fast romance wasn’t credible at all but they had to add it to move the plot forward. Wasn’t fan of it.
Also, if you want to portray the 2ML as the kindest ever human being maybe not to do it by showing his obsession towards the little girl (cause I was always afraid we’ll find out he’s a pedophile when it was obvious he’s not).
btw- who thinks eating in Subway is considered a place for a good date? I understand you want to push us your ad but that's too much ;) -
19. Big Mouse
Korean Drama - 2022, 16 episodes
This drama made me totally see Yoona in different light. She has done a great job. I think she should stick with this type of roles and not damsel in distress ones like in The K2.
Jong Suk oppa was great as always but TBH he kind of portrayed a lot already this tough guy character and it was refreshing seeing him in the first few eps before the make over. I'm curious whether he could've lead a whole drama with that kind of character of the nice guy.
Also, I know he's a model and the stylists are tempted to dress him up like one- but he doesn't portray one! What are those colorful coats or denim.
I would've loved if it could've had a bit more "new" content but I guess after so many years following K-dramas, nothing can't really surprise me anymore so I just need to say thank you for what we get.. -
20. Le Sauvetage de l'impossible
Thai Drama - 2022, 6 episodes
It's a bit problematic to rank and review a "documentary" here but I'll try.
It was an extremely interesting watch. Although I knew about the story, and the moment Yaya posted on her Instagram she'll be playing in a show about it I only waited for Netflix to finally release it, while watching it I understood that I knew practically nothing.
The public wasn't aware of most of it and I'm really glad that they took us with them to this adventure through this show. I was so happy so many people around the world came to these boys' rescue and after all it's a success story. Their captain was so mature and thanks to him they all got to survive.
Also, I'm surprised that they have a territory between Thailand and Myanmar that whoever is born there doesn't have an ID. How still in the 21st century stuff like this are allowed?! -
21. Extraordinary Attorney Woo
Korean Drama - 2022, 16 episodes
I know another season awaits us yet I was expecting a bit more round ending. It's not that we were left with many loop holes but we didn't get a real ending feeling. Maybe the fact that the last few eps were quite boring contributed to this feeling.
Great acting from the cast, especially FL. I never knew people on the spectrum can have real romantic relationship, it's such a positive fact! -
22. Red Heart
Korean Drama - 2022, 16 episodes
Firstly I want to say good job to Lee Joon for always challenging himself and changing so much from the role of Bulgasal he had at the beginning of the year.
Having said that, the real ML of this drama was definitely Jang Hyuk and thank god for that. This drama was mostly carried by him since it was Kang Hana's first FL role and her role wasn't as complicated as the Dogwar queen even.
The ending song of each ep was really beautiful.*Favorite villian. Maybe if Jang Hyuk wasn't portraying him, he wasn't the favorite lol but he did, and he was so amazing! Can't imagine anyone else doing this meticulous job.
All those schemes and stabbing practically everyone behind their back was so crazy that you had to admit he's the most intelligent character in this drama. -
23. Love Between Fairy and Devil
Chinese Drama - 2022, 36 episodes
It didn't live up to my expectations but it became much better in the second half.
I'm usually not very anti the body swap troop but I really disliked it here and I'm happy it didn't last long. The only good thing that came from this was that we've seen the actors great abilities by playing "two" characters. Not only that, as much as I wasn't really fond of the story, I found myself from time to time tearing up with them which again shows what good actors were they that they were able to portray and convey to us those feelings.
ML was really adorable and I extremely loved that he was in the highest evil position anyone can hope for. FL was less my kind of main lead (also didn't really like her looks), and I would expect that with so many kissing scenes for them to eventually learn the technique and how to coordinate and give a normal scene together but till the very end it was super lacking.
Amazing OST
Edit: I finally know who the ML reminded me of- Up10tion's Kim Woo Seok lol don't they look very much alike? -
24. Blind
Korean Drama - 2022, 16 episodes
I know it’s an illogical request- but please if you have a “surprising” villain roles, don’t put well known actors in them. FYI I follow 4 cast members on Instagram, if an actor is enough famous for me as an international fan to follow, it means he lands big roles in dramas (good and bad obviously- but how many good guys you need in a thriller?)
So even though the element of surprise was taken away from me, it was still a very well made thriller drama.
p.s I always find it amusing when both lead roles are occupied by idols. I guess we’ll start seeing it more often now that even third generation ones put their acting career before the singing one. -
25. Youngest Son of a Conglomerate
Korean Drama - 2022, 16 episodes
Until the 10th ep, I watched this drama solely for Joong Ki. That doesn't mean god-forbidden that I'm saying that Lee Sung Min with his impeccable performance didn't carry the drama as well, but the story wasn't enough interesting so that something else except from Joong Ki will make me continue on watching it.
Yet, after the 10th ep, it really pumped up my curiosity and so my rate went higher from the 6 I was planning to give it since the very beginning. Nevertheless, the last ep IMO was a total disappointment and like many others, I too think we could've lived just fine without the romance part- it anyways didn't feel believable at all. Though it was the first time that a Shin Hyun Bin character was likeable.
Also, really liked the ending song of each ep. -
26. Ta He Ta De Ta
Taiwanese Drama - 2022, 9 episodes
I like stories of parallel universe but TBH I was left really confused. It seems like most of the events through the drama didn't happen? or did they?
The teacher lives and her family members gone? How come stuff mentioned by the ML were the same in both time lines? Did the friends really betray her trust? and how come the other girl got again entwined in her life? Too many questions unanswered.. Still going to rank it quite high cause the acting was great and the passing of the story too. Have to mention also that the casting of their younger counterparts was superb! I really thought it was Tiffany all along.
p.s ML looked much more handsome in Arsenal. I guess it's not just a myth that men look more handsome in uniform lol
p.s2 Did Kao signed up a deal with Netflix Taiwan she has to appear in their every production, even in just guest roles? -
27. Reset
Chinese Drama - 2022, 15 episodes
A few months passed since I've got the recommendation to check this drama and finally I've watched it.
It was good, don't get me wrong, but it's a bit overhyped.
Great acting, and the repetition makes us attached to each character, you start feeling for them, and I even cried for the cop.
but all the 10/10 reviews are a bit too much. Yes it was a great thriller and you just want it to end well but maybe it had a bit too many repetitions and a bit less new content? -
28. Alchemy of Souls : Partie 1
Korean Drama - 2022, 20 episodes
Fine beginning, boring mid part, great ending (even if we got unfortunately an open ending because of the next season).
I know So Min unni wasn't the first choice for the role, and she's one of my top5 favorite actresses but the age difference between the leads was notable and intervened in getting invested in their relationship. Still I'm sad that she won't be in the next installment.
Like everyone else, I think that Minhyun is a not such a good of an actor and overall many of the cast looked like idols lol like the girl from WJSN or Dongwoo from Infinite ;) -
29. Novoland: The Princess From Plateau
Chinese Drama - 2022, 25 episodes
I'm sure that if they didn't edit so severely this show, it would've had much more potential to rise up in the rating. So to whoever doesn't know, 11 eps were cut. That led to incoherent plot, where it was obvious that parts were glued together when they weren't filmed to be together (small clue: FL's clothing). Overall messy messy thing. Yet, the point stayed intact and made me care for the characters.
Yes I wasn't very fond of their love story, may it be the age gap or whatever. He cared for her with his actions, his words, but not with his expressions (was it the eyebrows fault? cause practically everyone says ML is a phenomenal actor).
I really like the FL, there was even a time she was on my profile pic. but like her coaster from Goodbye My Princess, her following project also didn't live up to my expectations. Her role was very problematic. As a viewer, you couldn't really understand her love for her friend, that was obviously deeper than for the ML (maybe there was more to it in the deleted scenes?). Nevertheless, I'm thankful that the enemies to lovers trope was spared from us and I'll never forget how I cried for them when they wanted to start all over again. -
30. Maid's Revenge
Chinese Drama - 2022, 30 episodes
The base for this drama is a stupid grandson that lived in some kind of illusion that his grandparents should prefer him over their SON. I know my grandparents love me unconditionally but I would never expect them to love me more than they love my father, that's just how the world is, and its' a pity he didn't realize that and just blamed his mom's origin or whatever.
ML looks so much like Aaron Yan, he even is a great kisser like him. Very nice romantic scenes, much better that in Fall in Love which shares its' vibe (listed in the recommendations on the dramas' page). -
31. Alien Girl, Chai Xiao Qi 2
Chinese Drama - 2022, 30 episodes
Completed it finally on my third try. They were still as adorable together and gave me butterflies as in S1 but as a standalone drama, S2 wasn't just good enough, or better said just didn't meet the bar set by the 10/10 S1.
The story this time around wasn't that interesting, and like I said, if I would've watched only this season, it would've had a much much lower rating.
Also, they kind of based the story on the fact that even though your memory is erased/you have amnesia/whatever, you still deep inside remember your true love - but how does that work with the fact that Chanyeol's Chinese doppelganger had another girl in S2?
I like how the villains all came together and helped eventually, each in his/her domain. Especially liked the collaboration between both main male leads.
Hope there won't be S3 but if they'll do it, I hope ML will finally stop putting so much effort in the kiss scenes, it's obvious FL ain't planning to open her mouth any time soon lol -
32. Jao Gum Nai Wen
Thai Drama - 2022, 17 episodes
I was really happy while watching the first eps of this drama. It felt like a corrective experience for both me and Yaya after Kleun Cheewit. but than ML became a total jerk (thankful though they stopped darkening his face). I was so sad for her, teared up even. The story was upsetting (typical revenge plot because of misunderstanding) and shorty Mario's air kisses like kids do to not even touch her skin were a low blow- when he can indeed kiss properly.
To sum up, ML's dad gets the award for best character of the drama and out of the three Louis Vuitton handbacks Yaya had, I'd like to get the brown one, thank you ;) -
33. Gaus Electronics
Korean Drama - 2022, 12 episodes
Justice for Jung Chi lol I’ve waited when we’ll see him already after he appeared for 2 secs only each ep..
Since the beginning, it had that Misaeng vibe but IMO it was much better and satisfactorily hilarious. Happy for Dong Yeon to finally land a ML role. FL got so much better at acting. I was a bit skeptical before watching it because of her (she was awful in her first fl role) but she really was fit for her role.
As SFL I much more prefer types like Jong Kook oopa and not those thin guys like SML. Happy though the actor who portrayed his father got this refreshing role. I had goose bumps while watching him in Blind so thanks for this corrective experience.
P.S was seeing the drama on regular speed. Difficult experience overall when you’re used for faster pacing hhh -
34. The Glory
Korean Drama - 2022, 8 episodes
-
35. Our Blues
Korean Drama - 2022, 20 episodes
Unlike the previously completed drama today (Shitting Stars), through this one I did suffer. Probably because the current drama even though was obviously high quality it had this sad note (and not some fluff romcom). Unlike My Liberation Notes, I don't think they opted for it, they framed it like a surviving story but it never got elevated expect of the last couple minutes.
TBH I liked the teens story the most, I even cried with their parents. As the story progressed with the other characters, It got way too boring for me. I'm happy for Lee Byung Hun and Shin Mina's characters that went through such a significant process.
Still surprised she and Kim Woo Bin did this drama together (how happy I'm that he's back!). Overall, full of superstars cast and Netflix definitely had enormous budget for this production. -
36. Minamdang: Case Note
Korean Drama - 2022, 18 episodes
Finally over with it. The funny parts of this drama were really really funny, but they weren't enough to make this extremely slow passed drama interesting. Oh Yeon Seo yet again played a sassy, loud and physically strong FL just like she did in every single production since Come Back, Ajusshi when I've started following her (or maybe even earlier). She should learn from her co-star who always tries to reinvent himself (though this character reminded me a bit the one he played in Shopping King Louie).
Like I've mentioned when the drama just started to air- I'm very sad for Kwak Shi Yang who has the looks, talent and absolutely everything and still lands only this small roles. Not sure it was the right call to pair him with Mina since even I wouldn't go with him and she's younger than me in a few years.
The bad guy even though was hinted still came to me as a surprise, cause I've kind of let go of the thought he's bad even after all the clues pointed at him. His story was nice and so was the other bad characters'. so that was good. -
37. Woori The Virgin
Korean Drama - 2022, 14 episodes
*It's difficult to watch something you know of all the turning points of it (jealous of those who haven't seen Jane the Virgin). SFL is much less likeable than in the original but great pick of the FL, she carries the whole story. Also Kim Soo Roo is as dramatic as Jaime Camil was, so it's a big bonus ;)
Came to this drama with high expectations cause I overall liked Jane the Virgin and Im Soo Hyang is one of my fav actresses but after prob 4 eps it was obvious we're going downhill. SFL wasn't close as important or likable as in the origin and even though I like Kim Soo Roo his and FL's mom story wasn't half as meaningful to the story as in the original.
No chemistry between the FL and both ML. The story sucked so much that it brought the bad sides of almost all the actors (tho the role was fine for Sung Hoon) and I wasn't even sure I'm watching the same actress that did When I Was the Most Beautiful. After two seconds I realized she’s from Busan originally cause her true accent got out. She couldn’t help it because the script was so bad.
Didn't give lower ranking because the original version doesn't deserve that its' remake will get such a low score. -
38. Little Women
Korean Drama - 2022, 12 episodes
"if you tell a lie often enough, it might become truth"- but what if it really is the truth? The ending was foreshowed with all those repetitions.
I knew Uhm Ji Won will never have only a small role in the drama, she's so great. I was on the other hand surprised by Uhm Ki Joon's ending since all the first part of the drama I was upset he got another Joo Dan Tae role. Unlike other commenters, I didn't hate the youngest sis. She was growing in difficult circumstances and her final worlds even brought tears to my eyes.
The drama was very complicated, visually satisfying and with great actors. Maybe if I would've watched it in different time, it would've gotten a higher grade. but right now- I only continued to watch it because of peer pressure and except from the curiosity of how things will turn out, I didn't like it one bit. -
39. Eve
Korean Drama - 2022, 16 episodes
I'm over with this crap (though I must admit the last 4 eps were quite interesting).
From the very beginning it was obvious we're in for a regular revenge through love but I'm happy they strayed away a bit from the regular cliché in the ending. I didn't like the casting of Park Byung Eun for the ML role- he had always this surprised look on his face, even when there wasn't anything surprising going around. and I feel like Seo Ye Ji compromised a bit with this role. Yes it was an acting spectacle from her and the second leads, but her character didn't show any depth.
Also, I hate when Lee Il Hwa plays not nice roles- give this women good character for god's sake :) -
40. Tomorrow
Korean Drama - 2022, 16 episodes
*it ends this week but still ain't my cup of tea. I read a comment on the drama's page that it has it's hit but also miss eps, but I think it has more of the latter ones. I love Kim Hee Sun and I'm sad that a drama of hers will get for the first time from me less than a 9 (much less!).
The fact that it started getting better by the end doesn’t mean the rating needs to suddenly sour up. If we put aside the story of the main couple (if you can even call them this way), you can count on one hand the amount of good eps this drama had. Don’t get me wrong this drama indeed tackled some very important subjects like bullying or rape but making a whole episode about a sad dog is plain stupidity.
No other Kim Hee Sun production got from me such a low rating and to be frank Lee Soo Hyuk was supposed to be older than her but he definitely doesn’t look like it. Though after watching him in many productions it’s probably the first time he looked hot IMO. -
41. Ghost Doctor
Korean Drama - 2022, 16 episodes
First 2022 drama completed.
I wish it would've been better. The first eps were nice, not splendid but enough intriguing. But it lost its' momentum quite fast, so much that half of almost each ep wasn't worth the time spent on it.
Rain was great as was Naeun and Sung Dong Il (goes without saying). Uee's character on the other hand felt totally unnecessary for the story (so was the romance). -
42. Money Heist
Korean Drama - 2022, 6 episodes
Not sure how objectively I rank this drama since I didn’t like the original too but overall it was okay.
Even though I’m fond of both Yoo Ji Tae and Park Hae Soo, I don’t think they were able to convey correctly the characters as did the Spanish actors, nor the girl who played Ursula (Tokyo)’s part. I have no complaints to the other cast members except the one who played Denver whose accent was as if he was imitating satoori in a variety show and tried to make people laugh.
Have to say I’m disappointed that Kim Sung Oh chose this production since his role is quite minor (as in the original) so his talent is totally wasted.
Interesting they have decided to not give much emphasis on the ambassador daughter’s role that did Maria Pedraza, but the other elements stayed intact. -
43. Sh**ting Stars
Korean Drama - 2022, 16 episodes
*It has its funny moments but usually it's more of a show you put in the background while you're doing something else. You don't have to pay close attention because the story ain't going anywhere, the acting of the extremely beautiful FL hasn't gotten better in years and I'm not sure ML had to be given a main role so soon.
Usually when I give this low rating to a drama, I really suffer through it. Here on the other hand, I didn't suffer, it just wasn't interesting at all and I was indifferent. I usually put it in the background and had one eye on it and the other on my work/school stuff.
I understand it's based on a webtoon and the fact it was adapted to a drama means it's quite popular, but nor me nor many other users can't understand the charm of it.
Now the acting- ML got too soon IMO a main role, not even sure he's got what it takes, maybe for college drama (looked def much younger then the FL).
FL, C'mon Lee Sung Kyung, just has to get some acting lessons! How long she'll keep surviving in this industry thanks to her extremely pretty face? -
44. Love Like the Galaxy : Partie 1
Chinese Drama - 2022, 27 episodes
Technically I completed it over a month ago, but I thought I'll rank only the second installment and then update it.
However, this week, after somehow during this month getting to ep 12 of the second season- I officially decided to drop this drama.
If I would've rank the second part, it might have gotten a 2/10 from me. It really was pure torture and I can't possibly figure out how people gave it a perfect score.
Very unattractive ML too. pity for Lusi though, I usually like her productions.. -
45. Good Job
Korean Drama - 2022, 12 episodes
It was an unnecessary drama.
It started fine, was even interesting at times. Jung Il Woo and Yuri seemed like a good pairing. but after probably half of the drama, it all became regular and boring. This year we had some bad dramas, but some of them were worth watching even if they were bad- this one not. So just don't waste your time like I did. -
46. Suriname
Korean Drama - 2022, 6 episodes
Even if Park Hae Soo signed a deal with Netflix for X shows, that doesn't mean he has to take part in each project even when it's horrendous. Only the first ep was interesting.
Can't understand why Yoo Yeon Seok took this role since he had almost no scenes or dialogue.
Also, if you want to save the element of surprise for the viewers- better not to take extremely well known actors for those roles cause it's obvious they didn't sign up only to be *** ;) But I hope I didn't spoil you much and I advice you not to enter the drama's page cause someone there revealed the ending to everyone. -
47. Thirty Nine
Korean Drama - 2022, 12 episodes
Mi Do almost never does dramas and it's Son Ye Jin last production before marriage (we all know what it means- she'll start playing mom/wife roles) so I was surprised they picked this dull drama.
I also sobbed with Son Ye Jin at the end of ep 2, but those were practically the only feelings I had for this drama.
If since the beginning they exposed that a character will die, they had to give more emphasis on it, otherwise it was totally unnecessary.
Same goes with the adoption part, that served only to connect our main couple, and just gave us anger with the input of her biological mother into the story.
Disappointment overall. -
48. Welcome to Wedding Hell
Korean Drama - 2022, 12 episodes
Sorry but no. just no. It had this interesting topic but the execution was just bad. Since it portrayed real things that happen on the way to marriage it had potential but already in the first ep it was doomed to fail .
Quite surprised with Lee Jin Wook TBH it's not that I like immensely his previous productions but he chooses difficult roles and this is just meh I’ve even read a comment that he covered so much of his face with his haircut to show how much he dislikes to play this role (every one knows showing eyes and eyebrows is integral for an actor). -
49. The Tree Dies Standing
Korean Drama - 2022, 16 episodes
I was sure I would love it!! How awful and boring drama it was. The synopsis made me believe it will be the most amazing and touching drama ever, Ha Neul always chooses very qualitive dramas, Ha Ji Won is one of my faves and since seeing him for the first time in Pachinko, I only waited to see again Steven Noh- but none of this made this drama to have even an ounce of interesting content.
Just stay away from it and don't waste your time. I've continued on watching it because I thought maybe something will eventually happen, but no. Nothing never happened!
p.s upset for Kwon Sang Woo for having such an unnecessary role. Is his prime time officially over? No more leading roles in his age? -
50. Yonder
Korean Drama - 2022, 6 episodes
Such a f*cked up drama that I can't even give a proper review of it. Shin Ha Kyun gave his life's performance though
and I've noticed that Han Ji Min really likes to do this weird characters.. it does show how great of an actress she is but the whole concept ain't appealing to the viewer at all. -
51. Island
Korean Drama - 2022, 6 episodes
Could it be any worse? from an uncoherent plot to Da Hee's awful haircut- this drama didn't have a one thing that was good. and you probably won't see me watching the next installment, since I wasn't really left curious what will happen. Can't believe an actor who got a daesang does such a worthless production..
And Go Doo Shim? just let this woman have a break. Why she works on so many projects when she's quite old? Does she in need for cash ASAP?
