The Korean film "Decision to Leave" has been nominated for the 80th annual Golden Globe Awards. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced the nominees for the upcoming 2023 Golden Globe Awards on December 12. These awards honor achievements in both film and television, and are considered one of the top film awards in the United States, alongside the Academy Awards.

Park Chan Wook's acclaimed Korean film "Decision to Leave" tells the story of Hae Joon, a detective who begins an investigation into an unnatural death case that took place on a mountain. While investigating, Hae Joon meets Seo Rae, the deceased man's former wife. Hae Joon becomes suspicious of her, but also becomes interested in her. The film received a nomination for Best Picture (Non-English Language), a category previously known as Best Motion Picture (Foreign Language). "Parasite" won the award in 2020, becoming the first Korean film to win a Golden Globe, and "Minari" won it the following year. Can a Korean film win it for the third year in a row?

"Decision to Leave" will compete against "All Quiet on the Western Front" (Germany), "Argentina, 1985" (Argentina), "Close" (Belgium/France/Netherlands), and "RRR" (India). Earlier this year, Park Chan Wook won the Best Director award at the Cannes Film Festival for "Decision to Leave," which also won six awards, including Best Picture, at the Blue Dragon Film Awards.

The 2023 Golden Globe Awards will be broadcast live on January 10 at 5 p.m. PT from Beverly Hills, California, USA.
