Kim Soo Hyun is in talks to star in a new K-drama written by top scriptwriter Park Ji Eun.
One of the best actors in the K-drama world has been proposed with new work. This time, he will reportedly reunite with the writer of "My Love from the Star."
Several media outlets reported on November 4th that the two will work together again in the upcoming drama "Queen of Tears."
On the same day, Kim Soo Hyun's agency Gold Medalist responded to the circulating reports. According to the agency, Kim Soo Hyun did receive the offer and is currently reviewing it. Nothing has been decided yet.
"Queen of Tears" is the latest work of writer Park Ji Eun. Aside from "My Love from the Star," she is known for writing the popular k-dramas "Crash Landing on You," "The Legend of the Blue Sea," and "The Producers." The upcoming drama will be helmed by the famous director Kim Hee Won. The person behind the k-dramas "Little Women," "Vincenzo," "The Crowned Clown," and "Fated to Love You."
In the past few months, there were reports that IU will be the female lead of the series but her agency denied the claims.
Just the revelation of the director, writer, and possible main lead, already raises anticipation among local and global k-drama fans.
There are no official dates revealed yet for the premiere of "Queen of Tears."
If Kim Soo Hyun confirms his casting, this will be his third drama with writer Park Ji Eun. They worked together in "My Love from the Star" and also the KBS drama "The Producers." This will also be his return to the k-drama scene after two years.
Kim Soo Hyun was last seen in the Coupang Play original series "One Ordinary Day" in 2021. Since then, there were no reports about Kim Soo Hyun's next project.
